In defense of our persons and properties under actual violation, we took up arms. When that violence shall be removed, when hostilities shall cease on the part of the aggressors, hostilities shall cease on our part also.

They are still existing.
Ideals realized,
They cease to be ideals.
Hopes attained,
They cease to be hopes.
Beliefs proven,
They cease to be beliefs.
Faiths established,
They cease to be faiths.
Mind, faith in god
And belief in His deeds
Are still existing.

Cease Fire
won't look back though
I was torn to pieces nothing will destroy my determination
I won't be surpressed my voice will now be heard
Cease fire - What did I say I didn't mean to blow the world away
Cease fire - What do you know my mouth is like the barrel of a gun
Cease fire - What did I say

No Peace
I once saw a honeybee flying away at ease
staring at the human race living with no peace
Oh people! are we deaf dumb blind or naiive
look with a glimmering glance at bees
living in societies a life full of peace
workers rise at dawn collecting honey from trees
drones stand against, protecting female queens
Just stare just gaze and learn please
cease fire, cease fire, cease fire, cease
Not wishing to be a bee just wishing to live at peace

If the wolf would cease his running, the people would cease their shouting.
There seems to be a terrible misunderstanding on the part of a great many people to the effect that when you cease to believe you may cease to behave.

God does not die on the day when we cease to believe in a personal deity, but we die on the day when our lives cease to be illumined by the steady radiance, renewed daily, of a wonder, the source of which is beyond all reason.

Sonnet: The Righteous Succeed Anyday
An honest man gets into trouble soon;
Hard labor makes a man weary with ease;
Yet, Honesty will always be a boon,
Though troubles keep coming and may not cease.
In world so bad, virtues are hard to keep,
While vices catch all persons with great ease;
Nevertheless, there is nothing to weep;
The Tempter too, its labor will not cease.
Then, how the Righteous cope on earth somehow?
'Tis God who guides and protects them from harm;
For upright men, so great is Maker's love;
His heart's a furnace of love truly warm.
The man of virtues yet sees success fast;
He needn't worry of future or the past.

An Elegy on a Lap-dog
1 Shock's fate I mourn; poor Shock is now no more,
2 Ye Muses mourn, ye chamber-maids deplore.
3 Unhappy Shock! yet more unhappy fair,
4 Doom'd to survive thy joy and only care!
5 Thy wretched fingers now no more shall deck,
6 And tie the fav'rite ribbon round his neck;
7 No more thy hand shall smooth his glossy hair,
8 And comb the wavings of his pendent ear.
9 Yet cease thy flowing grief, forsaken maid;
10 All mortal pleasures in a moment fade:
11 Our surest hope is in an hour destroy'd,
12 And love, best gift of heav'n, not long enjoy'd.
13 Methinks I see her frantic with despair,
14 Her streaming eyes, wrung hands, and flowing hair
15 Her Mechlen pinners rent the floor bestrow,
16 And her torn fan gives real signs of woe.
17 Hence Superstition, that tormenting guest,
18 That haunts with fancied fears the coward breast;
19 No dread events upon his fate attend,
20 Stream eyes no more, no more thy tresses rend.
21 Tho' certain omens oft forewarn a state,
22 And dying lions show the monarch's fate;
23 Why should such fears bid Celia's sorrow rise?
24 For when a lap-dog falls no lover dies.
25 Cease, Celia, cease; restrain thy flowing tears,
26 Some warmer passion will dispel thy cares.
27 In man you'll find a more substantial bliss,
28 More grateful toying, and a sweeter kiss.
29 He's dead. Oh lay him gently in the ground!
30 And may his tomb be by this verse renown'd.
31 Here Shock, the pride of all his kind, is laid;
32 Who fawn'd like man, but ne'er like man betray'd.
If You are a Man
If you are a man, and believe in the destiny of mankind
then say to yourself: we will cease to care
about property and money and mechanical devices,
and open our consciousness to the deep, mysterious life
that we are now cut off from.
The machine shall be abolished from the earth again;
it is a mistake that mankind has made;
money shall cease to be, and property shall cease to perplex
and we will find the way to immediate contact with life
and with one another.
To know the moon as we have never known
yet she is knowable.
To know a man as we have never known
a man, as never yet a man was knowable, yet still shall be.

The Captive Knight
The prisoned thrush may brook the cage,
The captive eagle dies for rage.
Lady of the Lake.
'Twas a trumpet's pealing sound!
And the knight look'd down from the Paynim's tower,
And a Christian host, in its pride and power,
Thro' the pass beneath him wound.
Cease awhile, clarion! Clarion, wild and shrill,
Cease! let them hear the captive's voice–be still!
'I knew 'twas a trumpet's note!
And I see my brethren's lances gleam,
And their pennons wave by the mountain stream,
And their plumes to the glad wind float!
Cease awhile, clarion! Clarion, wild and shrill,
Cease! let them hear the captive's voice–be still!
'I am here, with my heavy chain!
And I look on a torrent sweeping by,
And an eagle rushing to the sky,
And a host, to its battle-plain!
Cease awhile, clarion! Clarion, wild and shrill,
Cease! let them hear the captive's voice–be still!
'Must I pine in my fetters here?
With the wild wave's foam, and the free bird's flight,
And the tall spears glancing on my sight,
And the trumpet in mine ear?
Cease awhile, clarion! Clarion, wild and shrill,
Cease! let them hear the captive's voice–be still!
'They are gone! they have all pass'd by!
They in whose wars I had borne my part,
They that I lov'd with a brother's heart,
They have left me here to die!
Sound again, clarion! Clarion, pour thy blast!
Sound! for the captive's dream of hope is past.'

When will the public cease to insult the teacher's calling with empty flattery When will men who would never for a moment encourage their own sons to enter the work of the public schools cease to tell us that education is the greatest and noblest of all human callings

Susan
Should i cease bearing fruit with you? !
Should i cease bringing forth the new wine? !
Then come and take refuge in the shadow of my love;
And act honourably and fruitfully to my heart.
You are like a great tree attached to a pillar!
So set out your love by night to meet my muse with joy;
For a man is measured by his own strength!
But my joy is still from my name as Susan.

Hardwork
the heart does not cease
pumping blood,
neither has the mind
stopped to think
neither must we cease
to love
to care to dream
the moon does not
stop shining
neither does the sun
or the stars
the orbits the planets follow
neither must our
feet stop rejoicing about
the new paths
our hands on their new maps
of touch
our eyes on the beautiful
landscapes
God has put.

Advice
Cease, fond shepherd -- cease desiring
What you never must enjoy;
She derides your vain aspiring,
She to all your sex is coy.
Cunning Damon once pursu'd her,
Yet she never would incline;
Strephon too as vainly woo'd her,
Though his flocks are more than thine.
At Diana's shrine aloud,
By the zone around her waist,
Thrice she bow'd, and thrice she vow'd
Like the Goddess to be chaste.

If I should cease to bring a Rose
56
If I should cease to bring a Rose
Upon a festal day,
'Twill be because beyond the Rose
I have been called away—
If I should cease to take the names
My buds commemorate—
'Twill be because Death's finger
Claps my murmuring lip!
