Upon A Looking Glass
In this see thou thy beauty, hast thou any,
Or thy defects, should they be few or many.
Thou may'st, too, here thy spots and freckles see,
Hast thou but eyes, and what their numbers be.
But art thou blind? There is no looking-glass
Can show thee thy defects, thy spots, or face.
Comparison.
Unto this glass we may compare the Word,
For that to man advantage doth afford
(Has he a mind to know himself and state),
To see what will be his eternal fate.
But without eyes, alas! how can he see?
Many that seem to look here, blind men be.
This is the reason they so often read
Their judgment there, and do it nothing dread.

They know not their own defects who search for the defects of others.
Love drops defects
Near-look finds out defects;
Dear-look shuts out defects.
Instant look notices potholes;
Fervent look ignores them.
No beloved is ugly
To her lover

Sonnet: ‘Homo sapiens’ ‘in Utero’
Behold the beauty of the embryo!
The fusion of the gametes in the womb;
From single cell, the progeny will grow,
To breathe earth’s air, before ’tis down in tomb.
And how each part appears in time aright!
A development, gene-directed by God;
And many things must happen by day/night;
The environs must also give the nod.
Man thinks he can improve the growth process!
He sets defects aright ‘in Utero’;
What if he should render matters much worse!
A tragedy, fetus may undergo.
Yet, Nature’s best in what it breaks or makes,
And man must learn self-control for God’s sakes!

Watching For Shapes
Written by ricky & marty wilde
Influences now are things that are all around me
Changing shape as they move around in an open mind
Coloured in by the images I find
Im just watching for shapes that grow
Im just watching for shapes that grow
(watching for shapes that grow)
Like electric sparks they danced by an open mirror
Closing doors never looking round but its not goodbye
Theyll be there till Im taken out I know
Im just watching for shapes that grow
Im just watching for shapes that grow
(watching for shapes that grow)
In my mind theres a space thats full of painted pictures
Things I did that I went through, but cant recall
Now and then theres a flash of the unknown
Im just watching for shapes that grow
Im just watching for shapes that grow
(watching for shapes that grow)
(watching for shapes that grow)
(watching for shapes that grow)

Get Over It
Slipping down a slide
I did enjoy the ride
Don't know what to decide
You lied to me
You looked me in the eye
It took me by surprise
Now are you gratified
You cried to me
La, la, la, la, la, la
Don't turn around
I'm sick and I'm tired of your face
Don't make this worse
You've already gone and got me mad
It's too bad I'm not sad
It's casting over
It's just one of those things
You'll have to get over it
When I was feeling down
You'd start to hang around
And then I found your hands all over me
And that was out of bounds
You filthy rotten hound
It's better than it sounds, believe me
la La, la, la, la, la
Don't turn around
I'm sick and I'm tired of your face
Don't make this worse
You've already gone and got me mad
It's too bad I'm not sad
It's casting over
It's just one of those things
You'll have to get over it
Hey, you gotta get over
Hey, you gotta get over it
It's too bad I'm not sad
It's casting over
It's just one of those things
You'll have to get over it
Don't turn around
I'm sick and I'm tired of your face
Don't make this worse
You've already gone and got me mad
Don't turn around
I'm sick and I'm tired of your face
Don't make this worse
You've already gone and got me mad
It's too bad I'm not sad
It's casting over
It's just one of those things
You'll have to get over it
You'll have to get over it

Chastise a good child, that it may not grow bad, and a bad one, that it may not grow worse.
Grow
Grow.
Difficult it is.
And in the doing,
It is magical too.
If you,
Allow yourself to grow.
And not gloat upon your sensitivities.
With emotions on your sleeve to show.
Slow and determine,
To acquire knowledge.
And not upon it sit.
Become more inquisitive...
About life as it exists.
Don't permit,
Given criticisms to stop your quest.
The more that is learned,
The more of them...
May just manifest.
Grow.
It will become easy to be embittered,
By all that appears stagnant.
But a patience that develops,
Will within you begin to navigate...
Over obstacles and things that irritate.
You can and will,
Grow.
Show it with defined purpose.
Grow.
Don't fear ignorance.
Grow.
Overcome it like hopping a fence.
You can and will,
Grow.
Don't sit and bemoan your fate.
Grow.
Ignorance is not bliss.
Grow,
Ignorance can twist,
An unconscious mind into bits!
You can and will,
Grow.
Like a flower that blooms.
And reaches towards the sky.
Grow.
Do not deny it as life passes you by!
Grow.
Learn to fly and soar!
You can and will,
Grow.
Make opportunities for yourself,
And unlock...
All of those locked up doors,
You allowed to close before.
You can and will,
Grow.
Difficult it is.
Grow.
And in the doing.
Grow.
You can and will,
Grow.
It is magical too.
Grow.
If you decide to...
Grow.
Grow.
Grow.
Allow yourself to grow.
And not gloat upon your sensitivities.
With emotions on your sleeve to show.
You can and will,
Grow!
And let that be your mission.
Grow.
Knowing it is your ammunition.
Grow.
You can and will,
Grow.
Grow.
Grow!

Because...
Because...
The sense you make,
It goes a little bit deeper.
Because...
You see defects,
And you are claimed tom peeper.
Because...
You do speak up,
And you know you can succeed.
Because...
Your mind's at ease.
You seem to reek of quality.
Some wont believe,
There are not too many people,
That are strong like that.
Some can't conceive,
There are not too many people,
With stress packed on their backs.
Some can't perceive,
There are not too many people,
Who will tell you where it's at.
Because...
The sense you make,
It goes a bit deeper.
Because...
You see defects,
And you are claimed a peeper.
Because...
You speak up,
And you know you can succeed.
Because...
Your mind is at ease.
You're not the one to beg on knees!
People might say some things...
Just to pick and irritate.
And then somebody comes along,
Who makes them player haters...
By the comments said and made.
Because...
The sense you make,
It goes a bit deeper.
Because...
You see defects,
And you are claimed a peeper.
Because...
You speak up,
And you know you can succeed.
Because...
Your mind's at ease.
You're not the one to beg on knees.
You're not the one to please another,
With lies to feed.
Because...
You're not the one to beg on your knees.
You're not the one to please another,
With lies to feed.
Because...
You're not the one to please another,
With lies to feed.
That's why they believe...
What you say they can leave.
Because...
What you say is not to believe.
That's why you're treated less than equal,
By your physicality.
That's why you're treated less than equal,
As some perceive.
Because...
That's why you're treated less than equal,
As some believe.
But deep inside of them your thoughts live and breathe.
But deep inside of them your thoughts live and breathe.
That's why you're treated less than equal,
As some perceive.
Because...
That's why you're treated less than equal,
As some believe.

The Face Of The Nation
As I run through this life
Sometimes it breaks my heart
Seein old people goin downtown
Stumblin their way through the dark
And the little babies cry
For their mothers warmth
Sometimes I feel so helpless
I dont know where to start
Chorus:
And the face of the nation
Keeps changin and changin
The face of th enation
I dont recognize it no more
The face of the neation
The face of the nation
So many lonely people
Damn those broken dreams
Oh yes it could be better
You can say that about anything
Some got it worse than me
Some got it worse than you
You see the people starvin underneath the tree
And you wonder what happened to the golden rule
Chorus:
And the face of the nation
Keeps changin and changin
The face of th enation
I dont recognize it no more
The face of the neation
The face of the nation
You know babe Im gonna keep on tryin
To put things right
If only for me and you
Cause the devil sleeps tonight
Chorus:
And the face of the nation
Keeps changin and changin
The face of th enation
I dont recognize it no more
The face of the neation
The face of the nation
And the face of the nation
Keeps changin and changin
The face of th enation
I dont recognize it no more
The face of the neation
The face of the nation

I Grow Old
I grow old I should feel the cold
I grow old I should have grey hair
I grow old I should sit and stare
I grow old I should have false teeth
I grow old I should have poor sight
I grow old I should forget to write
I grow old I should have aches and pains
I grow old I should 'stroll down memory lane'
I grow old I should walk with a stick
But as I grow old I KICK ASS!
And that's about it!

A Squeaking Wheel
A squeaking wheel,
Doesn't always get the attention.
A prevention is mentioned to avoid this,
With intention!
Those who perceive they will be embarrassed,
With an harassment that may take place.
When they are confronted face to face.
Will do the best they can to oil that squeak,
Before that wheel gets an opportunity to roll.
And there is nothing like an interrupted agenda,
That has been scheduled to move along...
With no defects to detect,
By an unexpected 'noise'.

Anger
Anger
(I'm my own worse enemy)
It
Became
My drug
And I allowed
It to control
My every move
Loved it's power
When I allow it to take me from
Feeling happy to being put in a position to being in an angry mood.
Its power rains red and birth mark on the ones in my mind who I think wrong me, and usually the people who got my back the ones I know that loves me.
When I wake up I try not to see my self as bully! ! ! but some where deep inside there's a beautiful person in me, and I'm over situation quickly, so I don't have to face my issue that's with in me and that is I'm my own worse enemy.

Let It Grow
(by eric clapton)
Im standin at the crossroads
Tryin to read the signs
To tell me which way I should
Go to find the answer
And all the time I know
Let your love and let it grow.
Let it grow, let it grow,
Let it blossom, let it flow.
In the sun and in the snow
Love is lovely, let it grow.
Lookin for a reason
To check out on my mind.
Its so hard to find a
Friend that I can count on.
Theres nothin left to show,
Plant your love and let it grow.
Let it grow...
Time is gettin shorter
And theres much for you to do,
Only askn you will get what you are needin,
The rest is up to you.
Plant your love and let it grow.
Let it grow...
