It's every woman's tragedy, that, after a certain age, she looks like a female impersonator. Mind you, we've known some lovely female impersonators, in our time.

Basically, they had asked me if I would shave my head or wear a bald cap. I said look, if you are doing a series for five years I would want to shave my hair because I would go bald with all the gum and glue from the bald cap.

There is no beard so well shaven but another barber will find something more to shave from it.
Too many barbers would be ready to shave the beard of a beardless man.
My Mind Keeps Movin’
Walk into a restaurant with chicken on my mind
Look at the menu I want roastbeaf and wine
A waitress comes up I order baked beans and bread
Oh when she brings it I want ham'n eggs instead
Because my mind keeps a movin' bouncin' and a groovin'
A flippin' floppin' every whichaway
From minute to minute if my mind ain't really in it
Never know just what I'm do or say
Sometimes I wake up happy sometimes I wake up mean
Sometimes I wake up missin' somethin' I ain't seen
Might wake up wasted and I might wake up dead
Might wake up and look around and jump back into bed
Because my mind keeps a movin'...
[ guitar ]
Sittin' home at midnight thinkin' bout Marie go to the phone I dial Carol Lee
I say come by babe just as fast as you can
And when she gets there I'm thinkin' bout Ann
Because my mind keeps a movin'...
Fly off to Paris just to get away from home
Get off in London and I grab a boat for Rome
Got to St Louis be in St Paul or else take a trip and go no place at all
Because my mind keeps a movin'...
I go to a psychiatrist to straighten my head
Then I decide I need a chiropractor instead
Put salt in my coffee and ketchup in my tea only dig a chick that don't dig me
Because my mind keeps a movin'...
Sometimes I don't shave and I look kinda weird
So shave off my hair and I grow a beard
Shave off my beard dye my eyebrows green
Play myself a song upon a tambourine
Because my mind keeps a movin'...

My Winding Wheel
Well nighttime let her through
Yeah Im talking to you
I wanna see her
Precious little thing
With eyes that dance around without their clothes
So buy a pretty dress
Wear it out tonight
For anyone you think could out do me
Or better still be my winding wheel
Cause I feel just like a map
Without a single place to go of interest
And Im further north than south
If I could shut my mouth shed probably like this
So buy a pretty dress
And wear it out tonight
For all the boys you think could out do me
Or better still be my winding wheel
Be my winding wheel
Well the children laugh and sing a song that ushers in her driving rain
And Im standing in the station like some old record waiting on a train
So buy a pretty dress
Wear it out tonight
For anyone you think could out do me
Or better still be my winding wheel
Be my winding wheel

Baby, could U be the most beautiful girl in the world?
Oh God, what am I gonna do?
He finally called
What do I wear, what do I wear?
Maybe black, hmm...
Mmm... 2 sexy, 2 mysterious
Ooh, maybe the red dress
I don't know, it's 2 firey
He won't be able 2 sit still
He won't be able to eat
Mmm... what do I do, what do I do?
Maybe white, ooh, the white dress
2 pure, 2 virgin-like
Damn, maybe he's just gonna have 2 see me the way I am
Maybe I'll just wear the jeans with my holes
Hopefully he'll like me
I don't know
I hope he can accept me the way I am cuz I'm crazy about him...
The most beautiful girl in the world

Well suited
I feel no need to power dress
No longer trying to impress.
My style today is casual
What you see is what you get
and I confess to no regret.
Today I can be comfortable/
I need not wear a shirt and tie
and try to act impressively.
I find it rather comical.
When I observe young men today
trying hard to make their way.
It’s not at all unusual.
For them to think they know it all
But pride oft goes before a fall
and sadly that is typical
When we are young we foolishly
we must dress fashionably
So that we seem acceptable.
Now that I’m old I do not care
If no one likes the clothes I wear
I dress to suit myself not you
it is my right and so I do.

Little Black Dress
Every woman has one in her closet,
Although some are loathe to confess.
It’s perfect for many occasions.
It is known as the little black dress..
For Women who seek to entice,
or have men they want to impress.,
There is nothing terribly virginal
concerning that little black dress.
Its of Spidery inspiration and,
oh, what a web they can weave.
They use it, some say, ensnaring their prey.
It comes out again when they grieve.
In Wedding, our Ladies wear white.,
A Little black dress when they keen.
They dress in subtler shades of gray
on all the days in between.

At Journey's End
I'll not lie down, nor sit and wait
The black-draped barge to float on by,
Nor offer up my throat, like ears of corn
To wait the sickle sigh,
Should death's bleak hooded figure call
He'll find that I have quit the town
And left no forwarding address
That he might use to track me down.
One step ahead, I'll change my name
Then dye my hair a rich dark brown,
Or failing that, I'll shave my head
And raise my brows, an inch around.
I'll grow a beard, or cut it off
If I have grown a beard before
Then take to sailing out from ports
Where Death has sallied forth once more.
I'll dress my woman in long boots
And tie her hair up out of sight,
Then we will slink from town to village
Making love by day, not night.
We'll sleep in hay ricks, fields and barns
While one keeps watch, each turn about,
So if his hood should cause alarms
We'll both be gone by morning light.
We'll trek up mountains, hills and valleys
Everywhere that he's just been,
We'll tail him as he travels onward
Scything through each village green,
And when he corners us at last
We'll drink long from a stirrup cup
And cheat him from his final scene
By leaving life, before he's up.

First Impressions can be false
The vicar wore a summer frock
when he was preaching to his flock.
His chosen theme intolerance
afforded him the perfect chance.
To openly admit he was
a little different because.
By nature disinclined to fight
the urges which to him felt right.
Confidently masculine.
He did not feel clothes should define
ones sexual identity
and should be viewed more tolerantly.
All deviations from the norm
considered so we might reform
The way we judge our fellow men
It is time to take stock again.
A brawny Scotsman we accept
can wear a kilt we don’t suspect.
that he might be effeminate.
In fact we think that he looks great.
A prime example of a man.
Which only goes to show we can forget
our preconceived ideas.
A man defines the clothes he wears
In days of yore Dandies would dress
in silks and velvet to impress
and would defend with naked steel
the right to dress the way they feel.
I find it hard to understand
why people condemn out of hand
Men who do not seem to care
what you think they ought wear.
A man has every right to dress
in any fashion more nor less.
Women can wear trouser suits
and if they choose to heavy boots.
If your reaction to his clothes
is to suspect he’s one of those
Then you display your ignorance
and complete lack of tolerance.

What Do Women Want?
I want a red dress.
I want it flimsy and cheap,
I want it too tight, I want to wear it
until someone tears it off me.
I want it sleeveless and backless,
this dress, so no one has to guess
what's underneath. I want to walk down
the street past Thrifty's and the hardware store
with all those keys glittering in the window,
past Mr. and Mrs. Wong selling day-old
donuts in their café, past the Guerra brothers
slinging pigs from the truck and onto the dolly,
hoisting the slick snouts over their shoulders.
I want to walk like I'm the only
woman on earth and I can have my pick.
I want that red dress bad.
I want it to confirm
your worst fears about me,
to show you how little I care about you
or anything except what
I want. When I find it, I'll pull that garment
from its hanger like I'm choosing a body
to carry me into this world, through
the birth-cries and the love-cries too,
and I'll wear it like bones, like skin,
it'll be the goddamned
dress they bury me in.
