Although technical discussions are interesting to composers, I suspect that the truly magical and spiritual powers of music arise from deeper levels of our psyche.

I am certain that most composers today would consider today's music to be rich, not to say confusing, in its enormous diversity of styles, technical procedures, and systems of esthetics.

The Magical Music Show(Lyrics) :
Welcome to magic, and the magical music show.
You'll get a little magic, from the magical music show.
When you see, you've got it down.
Take a little look around.
Send your eyes up on the stage.
There could be no better day; for magic.
And the magical music show.
We'll send a little magic.
From the magical music show.
When you think you understand.
Take a look, up at our band.
Take another look around.
There could be no better sound, then magic.
And the magical music show.
You'll get a little magic.
From the magical music show.
So welcome to magic.
And the magical music show..
You'll get a little magic.
From the magical music show.
So welcome to magic.
And the magical music show.
And the magical music show-wooh-wooh..

It was very interesting for me because DNA made music without much technical knowledge at all.

The Goal Of Poetry
it is simply to reach
out to people
with our verbal hands
these mental arms
and make them
look
deeper
deeper

d eeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper
deeper

deeper
too, within
themselves

Deeper, Dig Deeper
Deeper, dig deeper
Deeper, deeper, dig, dig, deeper, deeper
Get a little closer
You dont have to be afraid
You have to trust your inner pilot
Dont let it drift away
Dig a little deeper
You gotta get it in your soul
Reach out with your spirit
And let your feelings show
Deeper, deeper, dig, dig, deeper, deeper
You cant deny the feeling
That touches you inside
When youre tired and lonely
You dont have to lose your pride.
Take the time to listen
Stay a little while
Got a song to sing for you
Let the music get you higher, higher.

Heavy Music (Part 1)
Ahh come on with me baby
We're gonna have a good time
Don't you ever listen to the radio
When the big bad beat comes on
I know you gotta dig it
I know you can't stop it
Cause the bottom comes on so strong
Talkin 'bout (heavy music),
Oh I got to have it yeah (heavy music),
I got to love it now
Deeper (heavy music)
Deeper (heavy music)
Baby don't you get a kick, from it yeah
Dig it (heavy music)
Dig it baby (heavy music)
Dancin to that heavy music (music) What I sing to the heavy music (music)
Yeah a little bit deeper now, alright
Don't you ever feel like goin' insane
When the drums begin to pound
Ain't there ever been a time in your life
You couldn't believe what the band is puttin' down, about
(repeat chorus)
Yeah, alright, goin' in, goin in now
Oh yeah I'm goin' in now
Come on come on with me baby
Come on come on with me baby
Come on come on with me
Goin' deeper
Deeper deeper oh oh oh

I've got a collection of songs that I've had, I keep adding to and they're all great American composers. I wanted to showcase American composers and I've done that on a lot of my records and played things by American composers that I really respect.

Much Deeper Than What Is Shown
There are layers of living one's life,
Complex.
That will not be easy to peel away to reveal...
What has been lived as one might suspect!
To scratch beneath a crust thought thin,
With a hope to match,
A few moments given...
To a belief thought easy to satisfy,
A curiosity to probe and pry...
Can not be applied!
Not to this specimen...
Thought to be light,
Of a wind...
One can stand against and defend.
There are layers of living one's life,
Complex.
That will not be easy to peel away to reveal...
What has been lived as one might suspect!
That which appears to sit alone as stone...
May show what's on a surface,
Something much deeper.
Much deeper...
Than what is shown!
Deeper, deeper still...
Than what is believed to be known!

We Have A Technical
We have a random on the westside
Personality malfunction
He says I cant give you anything at all
Just a room with a bad view of you
He sent a letter to a downstat
Saying sorry that I missed you
But I cant think of anything to do
Hes addicted to the time track
We have a technical
We have a technical
Hes in a hotel where they all go
Saying boy, Ive lost my memory
Its so surprising
Just how quickly things can end
Like a hero on a platform of friends
This table is so crowded
With people that I dont know
And I never really turn
My thoughts on you
So the image breaks down again
We have a technical
We have a technical
I suppose its very shady
At least until the lights go out
Advertising posters on the wall
And the young boys singing softly
Do they ever come back
Or is it always at the wrong time
I could crawl around the floor
Just like Im real
And move a hand in front of my eyes
We have a technical
We have a technical

It was a really interesting time in New York in the late 70s and early 80s, and the music scene was really, really interesting because you didn't have to be a virtuoso to make music, it was more about your desire to express things.

Because We Are Part Of These Mysterious States
to make you more interesting
(not just to myself but more of yourself)
i tell you something that you want to know
and you listen
and you like it and you begin to smile and
feel great about how i speak about you
because you are great and somehow you fail to see it
and never acknowledge it to yourself
before you sleep and at times when you see yourself
in front of the mirror and affirm
the reason why you are here because you pretend that you do not know it.
you are interesting and you belong with us all here
as we are interesting too
we feel the exclamations of our beings,
we are beyond the colors of the sea and the the land
and all that arise from them
we rise above them all
and we must confirm these phenomena of our
being what we must be.
tonight i will ask you some questions
and there will be no answers.

One Day
The deeper and deeper I fall, deeper and deeper I seek,
Deeper and deeper I try and deeper and deeper I need
Forgive me
4x
And all I see is your face
2x
The deeper and deeper I fall, deeper and deeper I seek
Deeper and deeper I try, the deeper and deeper I need
The deeper and deeper I fail, deeper and deeper I read
Deeper and deeper I cry, the deeper and deeper I feed
Caught up in this game of life, me against you
Not doing what I should, just the things that I want to
So wrapped up, terrified of what I become
Outside Im laughing, inside Im numb
I cant see the light because it blinds me
Try to forget but my past always remidns me
Exposed, looked on by eyes of grace
Im so ashamed, dont look at my face
All I see is your face
4x
Get up by your strength, I rise up to thee
But Ill stay on my face if you will of me
Shape and mold me til your though
Humble myself, life laid down before you
I need your wisdom, so the truth I keep on living
And your love will always be a part of me
Cant do a thing, if I aint living for the kind
So dont ever leave or take your eyes off me
Its not who you are its who youre living for
Trials and tribulations will come

My Dove, My Beautiful One
My dove, my beautiful one,
Arise, arise!
The night-dew lies
Upon my lips and eyes.
The odorous winds are weaving
A music of sighs:
Arise, arise,
My dove, my beautiful one!
I wait by the cedar tree,
My sister, my love,
White breast of the dove,
My breast shall be your bed.
The pale dew lies
Like a veil on my head.
My fair one, my fair dove,
Arise, arise!
