My biggest weakness as a endurance athlete has been in not drinking enough water after training, thereby racing sometimes while dehydrated.

Road racing at the moment because it's still so new to me. I like the fact that they are longer and teamwork is important. I guess the same is true for track, it's just that I have used track this year as a training device to improve my sprinting in road racing.

Pain Giving Water
My heart aches from an Attack
of loneliness
brought forth by a pain giving water
water I drank willingly in hopes it would quench my thirst
Oh how I was fooled by that short moment of relief
Cool and refreshing, moist and Satisfying
Then it was over
Leaving me thirsty once more with no water to drink
I kept asking for more of the water I drank but there was none left
I pleaded, I begged, I sobbed, and I moaned but still no water
Now left dehydrated I press on in search of new water But
hurt so much I wonder how Much Longer
I can go on
Were is my water?

The Biggest One
The water running down that pipe
Looks like a snake to me
By docs sugar bowl my coffee gets cold
Because I dont want to see that
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Im the biggest one
Im the biggest one
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Should have changed that stupid lock
Should have thrown away the key
No, no, not i, I will survive
Right down here on my knees cause
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self
Im the biggest one
Im the biggest one
Ive got no one to blame but my fat self

An athlete who tells you the training is always easy and always fun simply hasn't been there. Goals can be elusive which makes the difficult journey all the more rewarding.

I don't know why people question the academic training of an athlete. Fifty percent of the doctors in this country graduated in the bottom half of their classes.

4. Elements – Water
Water an elemental
Water a fundamental
Building block of life
Water of Life
Water of Death
Water in all religions
Water in all living things
Water in all countries
Water also used for barter
No life without water
No rife with water
No respect for water
Willful neglect of water
Water, for cooking
Water, for cleaning
Water, for drinking
Water, for living
Water, for dying
Water is the same
In all languages
Water is the same
To all living beings

The Race Of Standing Still
I'm racing racing towards it
Like when I was a small boy
Cutting through a waving field
Decorated by summer sunlight
Unable to remember
Unable to forget
Unable yet at peace
Unable yet scared
I'm racing racing towards it with fear and excitement
They seem unseperable
They seem so far apart
They are my close friends
They are my very ghosts
I'm racing towards it
Holding perfectly still
In the race of standing still

I Almost Had A Weakness
Thank you for the flowers
I threw them on the fire
And I burned the photographs that you had enclosed
God they were ugly children
So youre the little bastard of that brother of mine
Trying to trick a poor old woman
til I almost had a weakness
Last week cousin florence
Bit your uncle joe
Hit him on the forehead with a knife and a fork
(she) said that he looked like the devil
Then she said... pass the vinegar, Im beginning to think
(that) Im the only one who hasnt taken to the drinking of it
Though I almost had a weakness
It pains me to mention
These delicate concerns
While I have to tolerate you family jewels
I really mustnt grumble
(cause) when I die the cats and dogs will jump up and down
And you little swines will get nothing
Though I almost had a weakness

Der mann im keller
How cool and fair this cellar where
My throne a dusky cask is;
To do no thing but just to sing
And drown the time my task is.
The cooper he's
Resolved to please,
And, answering to my winking,
He fills me up
Cup after cup
For drinking, drinking, drinking.
Begrudge me not
This cosy spot
In which I am reclining--
Why, who would burst
With envious thirst,
When he can live by wining.
A roseate hue seems to imbue
The world on which I'm blinking;
My fellow-men--I love them when
I'm drinking, drinking, drinking.
And yet I think, the more I drink,
It's more and more I pine for--
Oh, such as I (forever dry)
God made this land of Rhine for;
And there is bliss
In knowing this,
As to the floor I'm sinking:
I've wronged no man
And never can
While drinking, drinking, drinking.

I'm lucky. The best possible place in the world for training is Addis Ababa, so I am home all the time except when I am racing. I like to be there, near my family, my kids, also the real estate business I run with my wife.

I personally developed the Academy training program. All our training is based on solid educational principles. We present the material in four training formats: lecture, demonstration, drill, and implementation.
Water, Water, every where
Water, Water every where,
Not a dropp to drink,
What have we done to our planet earth,
it’s the time to think.
If we had taken care before,
we would have been happy more.
If we had not waste water at that time,
water would have been in its prime.
Get the lesson, my dear! as its not too late,
or, for the drinking water, you’ll have to infinite wait.
