There hasn't been enough change in comics to suit me. I don't know why exactly.

Comics as art. I do comics as comics, and my opportunity to tell stories. Simple. Basic. Let the characters have the excitement, not the package. That's where I come from.

We grew out of the superhero comics, but we still liked comics, so we started putting our own experiences in the stories we were doing for our own amusement.

Comics were going down for the second time and here, all of a sudden, came this thing and for the next fifteen years, romance comics were about the top sellers in the field; they outsold everything.
A nice, easy place for freedom of speech to be eroded is comics, because comics are a natural target whenever an election comes up.

I have this certain vision of the way I want my comics to look; this sort of photographic realism, but with a certain abstraction that comics can give. It's kind of a fine line.

Comics are too big. You can't say any kind or genre of comics is better than another. You can say so subjectively. But to say it like it's objective is wrong. It's wrong morally, because it cuts out stuff that's good.
I quit comics because I got completely sick of it. I was drawing comics all the time and didn't have the time or energy to do anything else. That got to me in the end.

I have worked with a great many comedians as opposed to comics, although I have worked with comics as well, I make the distinction.

My grandfather was a newspaper publisher and his paper had all the comics in NYC, so some of my earliest memories are of reading the family paper and heading straight for the comics insert.

We thought everybody read comics. We didn't know we were weird. We didn't know people that collected comics were strange. It was as normal as listening to rock music on the radio.

The misconception is that standup comics are always on. I don't know any really funny comics that are annoying and constantly trying to be funny all the time.
Your Time Hasn't Come Yet Baby
(words & music by hirschhorn - kascho)
Your time hasn't come yet baby
You got a lot of dreams to go
Your time hasn't come yet baby
But when it does your heart will know
You're gonna be a beautiful woman
Because you're such a beautiful child
And when you start to bloom
Just like a rose in june
I bet the schoolboys all go wild, but right now
Your time hasn't come yet baby
You got a few dreams to go
Your time hasn't come yet baby
When it does your heart will know
Your life's still a lollipop heaven
Your teddy bear's at the foot of your bed
The little boy next door who only makes you sore
Is gonna some day turn your head but right now
Your time hasn't come yet baby
You got a few dreams to go
Your time hasn't come yet baby
When it does your heart will know
You're gonna grow over night into a lady
With a devastatingly smile ???
And then a lucky guy will see you
And wanna walk you down the aisle, but meanwhile
Your time hasn't come yet baby
You got a few dreams to go
Your time hasn't come yet baby
When it does your heart will know
When it does your heart will know
When it does your heart will know

Because I Love You
i can always
pretend
that i welcome
changes
that i can change
to suit
your mold
about what
love is
and you take
charge of my
life and soon
i will let you
see that
i master change
and change
shall i
into not loving
you.
do not regret
your wish
for changes

You're Still My Man
On the day that you left me
You said you had no regrets
There's a bond between us
That hasn't been broken yet
And the feelings between us
Will never diappear
How can you be far away
When your spirits here
(Chorus)
You're still my man
Nothing can change it
We still belong together
You're still my man
Nothing can change it
Our love will last forever
And the seasons of our love
Will always change I know
Maybe that's the reason
You felt you had to go
But soon you'll be missing me
Darling

Change! Change! Change!
change! change! change!
everybody talkin' about change.
change your look,
change your luck,
change your politics,
change your religion...
change the country,
change the world....
change the day!
change your underwear!
loose change, pocket change,
winds of change, march for change....
but all real change begins within...
let's work on that,
and then everything else
will change in turn!

Dont Ever Change
You never wear a suit of lace,
The powders not on your face.
Youre always wearing jeans
Except on sunday.
So please dont ever change,
No dont you ever change.
I kind of like you
Just the way you are.
You dont know the latest dance,
But when its time to make romance
Your kisses let me know
Youre not a tomboy.
So please dont ever change,
No dont you ever change.
Promise youre always gonna be
As sweet as you are.
I love you when youre happy,
I love you when youre blue.
I love you when youre mad at me,
So how can I get tired of you?
A lots of other girls Ive seen,
They know how to treat guys mean.
But you would rather die
Than ever hurt me.
So please dont ever change,
No dont you ever change.
Just promise youre always gonna be
As sweet as you are.
Please dont ever change,
Dont you ever change.
Please dont ever change,
Dont you ever change.

Surprise in Japan - New Suit
bad laundry work
the fashion store gives me
a new suit
Quite a surprise. The laundrette I sent the suit to for dry cleaning did a bad job. The suit became like a three year old piece of junk. I showed it to the fashion store in Kinshicho where I bought and strangely the manager gave me a new suit.

Buyer's Remorse
Buyer beware.
What you see,
Isn't what you always get.
That has been known.
But not always shown to reflect.
Now...
If we can only get you to listen,
And compare that to the rotten apples
You've been sold decade after decade...
There 'might' be some progress,
Instead of buyer's remorse...
You've been too comfortable to accept.
To later express regret!
With medical prescriptions,
Sought that are the best.
How does one get rid of an addiction,
To receiving disappointment...
That does not cure these afflictions?
How does that happen?
A change in routine...
That creates a different more meaningful scene.
That hasn't been figured out yet!
Since being duped,
Is what most look forward to get!
But an awakening 'has' to come.
That's the only thing that hasn't been done,
By some!
