No naturalist has devoted more painstaking attention to the structure of the barnacles than Mr. Darwin.

The former conviction that these two kingdoms were wholly different in structure, in function, and in kind of life, was not seriously disturbed by the difficulties which the naturalist encountered when he undertook to define them.
Yet the evil still increased, and, like the parasite of barnacles on a ship, if it did not destroy the structure, it obstructed its fair, comfortable progress in the path of life.

Darwin and Lincoln - an ovation
Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln
Are, this year, two hundred years old.
Darwin’s theory shocked the religions.
Lincoln’s democracy shook the nations.
Darwin and Lincoln have made their enemies,
Who survive them to keep them alive.
Darwin and Lincoln made their theories,
Which survive them to keep them alive.
Darwin liberated us from ignorance
Let the vested interests die with age
Lincoln abolished slavery by law.
Let the spirit of tolerance rise to match.

Each Other
Laid things
Here and there
Unedited reality
Seems to be natural
Invitation
Broke the reality
And beauty of the disorder
Neatly and nicely arranged
Shingly and hardly cleaned
Structure less structure is structured
Everything calm and quite
Guests came with smiles
Gestures having edited
Both beginning to act
Prepared arena for that
Conversation
Plays with choked and forged words
Exaggeration
Jumps with high level tone
Competition
Goes flattering oneself
Conclusion
Ends with unaccepted misled signs
Created order with unmatched look
Uneasy tiredness was after that
Disorder slightly creeps from hidden
Naturalist living comes with shade in

Although Darwin was able to persuade much of the world that a modern eye could be produced gradually from a much simpler structure, he did not even attempt to explain how the simple light sensitive spot that was his starting point actually worked.

In Darwin's time all of biology was a black box: not only the cell, or the eye, or digestion, or immunity, but every biological structure and function because, ultimately, no one could explain how biological processes occurred.

Agricultural practice served Darwin as the material basis for the elaboration of his theory of Evolution, which explained the natural causation of the adaptation we see in the structure of the organic world. That was a great advance in the knowledge of living nature.

Hopelessly Devoted To You
(john farrar)
Guess mine is not the first heart broken
My eyes are not the first to cry
Im not the first to know
Theres just no getting over you
You know Im just a fool whos willing
To sit around and wait for you
But, baby, cant you see
Theres nothing else for me to do?
Im hopelessly devoted to you
But now theres nowhere to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
Im out of my head
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
My head is saying, fool, forget him.
My heart is saying, dont let go.
Hold on till the end.
And thats what I intend to do
Im hopelessly devoted to you
But now theres nowhere to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
Im out of my head
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you

Biology has progressed tremendously due to the model that Darwin put forth. But the black boxes Darwin accepted are now being opened, and our view of the world is again being shaken.

Live action writers will give you a structure, but who the hell is talking about structure? Animation is closer to jazz than some kind of classical stage structure.

Structure
One with a topic,
Must adopt structure.
With an effectiveness,
That seduces unexpectedly.
Without structure,
A captivation wished...
Never comes to satisfy.
Or acknowledges before it leaves.
And those with desires,
To get their points across...
Will someday realize it is structure,
That intensifies and pleases all of their needs.

I believe the best service to the child is the service closest to the child, and children who are victims of neglect, abuse, or abandonment must not also be victims of bureaucracy. They deserve our devoted attention, not our divided attention.

From Tree To Web
A Quixotic Quest
“The tree of life is a record of how every species that
ever lived is related to all others back to the origin of life.”
For a period of 150 years
biology sought the holy grail
of the tree of life – today
the tree has become obsolete
through negative evidence
Discovery of DNA structure led to
molecular evolution studying inheritance
as contained in the history of DNA sequences
finding species swapped genetic material
with each other, hybridising - thus the tree-
theory degenerates into impenetrable
thickets of interrelatedness
Bacteria and archaea swap
genetic material with other species
across huge taxonomic distances
in horizontal gene transfer (HGT)
Darwin assumed 'vertical' descent
but when genes were sequenced -
DNA replication and protein synthesis
showed the promiscuous exchange
of genetic information across
diverse groups

The classics of Marxism, while fully appreciating the significance of the Darwinian theory, pointed out the errors of which Darwin was guilty. Darwin's theory, though unquestionably materialist in its main features, is not free from some serious errors.

Devoted To You
(boudleaux bryant)
Darling you can count on me
till the sun dries up the sea
Until then Ill always be
Devoted to you
Ill be yours till endless time
Ill adore your charms sublime
Guess by now you know that im
Devoted to you
Ill never hurt you
Ill never lie
Ill never be untrue
Ill never give you reason to cry
Id be unhappy if you were blue
Through the years our love will grow
Like a river it will flow
It cant die because Im so
Devoted to you

Darwin's Fish
Darwin had a fish named Very Brighte
‘Twas marked with spots of orange amongst the white
Such a fine example of selective breed'n
'Twould be a shame to see him eat'n.
Charles D., taught this very special fish
To take a walk on a contrivance; called a leash.
On days when weather was good and fair
Brighte was released from his leather snare.
Under trees so green and supple, the two
Frolicked, as only friends could do.
One day they took a different path
As they were deep in thought, discussing math.
They approached a glen so inviting
The fish dictating, Darwin writing.
There in the cooling shade,
A brook's babbling sound was made.
‘Memberances of times in distant past
Thru his brain the pictures flashed.
Caused him (the fish, not Darwin)
To leap right in.
‘Twas here, the poor fish did discover
A truth known to father, mother, sister, brother.
Pollywogs, as well, have found it's true,
One cannot go home to waters, blue.
As he sank into the deep,
Poor Darwin's fish began to weep.
Sink or Swim, he did remember.
But forgot all else, that day in September.
Perhaps he forgot how to swim and drowned.
Yet his body was never found.
But Darwin was convinced that it was evolution,
That brough Brighte's life to its conclusion.

Imagine a world without Darwin. Imagine a world in which Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace had not transformed our understanding of living things. What... would become baffling and puzzling..., in urgent need of explanation? The answer is: practically everything about living things....
