Expired
As I grow older my taste buds change,
What used to be good now tastes strange.
I guess you could say I'm expired!
Basket bal, soccer; you name the game
I used to be great but I lost all my fame.
I guess you could say I'm expired!
Reading books and writing words,
Used to be great; I was considered a nerd
but as I grow older less and less is heard.
I guess you could say I've expired!

Let's Lynch The Landlord
The landlord's here to visit
They're blasting disco down below
Sez, "I'm doubling the rent
Cuz the buildings condemned
You're gonna help me buy City Hall"
But we can, you know we can
We can, you know we can
Let's lynch the landlord man
I tell them turn on the water
I tell them turn on the heat
Tells me "All you ever do is complain"
Then they search the place when I'm not here
But we can, you know we can
Let's lynch the landlord
Let's lynch the landlord
Let's lynch the landlord man
There's rats chewin' up the kitchen
Roaches up to my knees
Turn the oven on, it smells like Dachau
Til' the rain pours through the ceiling
But we can, you know we can
Let's lynch the landlord man

Dear Landlord
Dear landlord,
Please dont put a price on my soul.
My burden is heavy,
My dreams are beyond control.
When that steamboat whistle blows,
Im gonna give you all I got to give,
And I do hope you receive it well,
Dependin on the way you feel that you live.
Dear landlord,
Please heed these words that I speak.
I know youve suffered much,
But in this you are not so unique.
All of us, at times, we might work too hard
To have it too fast and too much,
And anyone can fill his life up
With things he can see but he just cannot touch.
Dear landlord,
Please dont dismiss my case.
Im not about to argue,
Im not about to move to no other place.
Now, each of us has his own special gift
And you know this was meant to be true,
And if you dont underestimate me,
I wont underestimate you.

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When this started to happen
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I just let it begin
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The change in anythin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When we stopped talkin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
We weren't letting each other in
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
That sad, sad trend
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The beginning of the end
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
You were no longer my friend
But believe me, now I notice
And it hurts deep within
Now that I notice
I hope you'll be again

I've Come to Notice More Now
I've come to notice more now,
The falling snow.
I've come to notice more now,
A certain purpose...
I had disavowed.
I've come to notice more now,
The core of my being with more meaning.
A joy I can express...
With less emphasis on things collected.
And a happiness I always had,
But somehow did not allow.
I've come to notice more now,
I can.
I've come to notice more now,
I will!
I've come to notice more now,
My needs are basically fulfilled.
Without desire to seek approval,
Sought to identify my peace of mind!
I've come to notice more now,
Thoughts like that I have left behind.
And notice, I do...
My blessings!

My Tenants
I never had a title-deed
To my estate. But little heed
Eyes give to me, when I walk by
My fields, to see who occupy.
Some clumsy men who lease and hire
And cut my trees to feed their fire,
Own all the land that I possess,
And tax my tenants to distress.
And if I say I had been first,
And, reaping, left for them the worst,
That they were beggars at the hands
Of dwellers on my royal lands,
With idle laugh of passing scorn
As unto words of madness born,
They would reply
I do not care;
They cannot crowd the charméd air;
They cannot touch the bonds I hold
On all that they have bought and sold.
They can waylay my faithful bees,
Who, lulled to sleep, with fatal ease,
Are robbe. Is one day's honey sweet
Thus snatched? All summer round my feet
In golden drifts from plumy wings,
In shining drops on fragrant things
Free gift, it came to me. My corn,
With burnished banners, morn by morn,
Comes out to meet and honor me;
The glittering ranks spread royally
Far as I walk. When hasty greed
Tramples it down for food and seed,
I, with a certain veiled delight,
Hear half the crop is lost by blight.
Letter of the law these may fulfil,
Plant where they like, slay what they will,
Count up their gains and make them great;
Nevertheless, the whole estate
Always belongs to me and mine.
We are the only royal line.
And though I have no title-deed
My tenants pay me royal heed
When our sweet fields I wander by
To see what strangers occupy.

The Ballad Of The Landlord
Landlord, landlord,
My roof has sprung a leak.
Don't you 'member I told you about it
Way last week?
Landlord, landlord,
These steps is broken down.
When you come up yourself
It's a wonder you don't fall down.
Ten Bucks you say I owe you?
Ten Bucks you say is due?
Well, that's Ten Bucks more'n I'l pay you
Till you fix this house up new.
What? You gonna get eviction orders?
You gonna cut off my heat?
You gonna take my furniture and
Throw it in the street?
Um-huh! You talking high and mighty.
Talk on-till you get through.
You ain't gonna be able to say a word
If I land my fist on you.
Police! Police!
Come and get this man!
He's trying to ruin the government
And overturn the land!
Copper's whistle!
Patrol bell!
Arrest.
Precinct Station.
Iron cell.

And I Feel So Guilty
today she buys a rotten apple
she says it is hard for her to notice
the market is crowded and she is in a hurry
she also buys canned goods in bulk
whose dates on the label have already expired
she says it is hard for her to notice
the mall is crowded and she is in a hurry
she has this usual style of repeating lines
when caught in the midst of her stupidities
but i do not let any stone unturned and i
ask her why she is in a hurry
she is in a hurry to be back home
she says she misses me
she says she is cooking dinner for me
she says she is stupid enough to have ever loved me

Dear Landlord
Dear landlord

My burden is heavy, dear,
And my dreams are beyond my control,

And I do hope that you can receive it well,
I know that it must be dependin on the way you feel that you live.
Whoa, landlord,

I know you must have suffered much,
But honey you aint alone, you aint so unique.
No no no, no, no.
All of us at times, I said, we might have worked too hard
Or too heavy, too fast and way too rushed, yeah!
But everyone can fill their life with anything
You can look around, but baby you just cannot touch.
Whoa, my dear landlord,
Please dont you dismiss my case.
Im not about to argue with you,
And honey Ill tell ya, Im aint gonna move to no other place.

A Land Of Peace
A land of peace is here
It is also there, everywhere
Quiet and eerie
No wails, no tears
No sound, no footstep noise
Forever slumber, in a line
A land of no fuss
A land of peace
Tenants without a lease
It is known, with overgrown
Open gates without hate
No master, no slave, no colour
A land of no sleaze
A land of peace, total peace

Landlords and tenants,
Conceding with the muse of the selfish practices around;
But try to get rid of these bad practices in the society around you.
Ambiguous,
Necessarily,
Preventing;
And like the landlords and the tenants in your town!
For, i am Litau with the words of peace;
However, the continent of Africa needs help.

Coppies
I sit and I hear them,
I see them,
But they sound the same,
They look the same.
I sit and I think about them,
Coppies of the same person,
All the same walk,
Same look,
They're all naive, all ignorant bastards!
I sit and I notice everything,
I notice the sounds,
And I notice the birds,
I notice the screaming of the city,
I notice the blindness of THEM.
I sit and wonder,
When will they see themselves,
In the mirror of the other's faces,
When will they tear eachother into pieces,
When will they remove their fake masks? !
I sit and I see the world,
I see it for what it is,
A great black pit,
Filled with people,
Who are filled with shit!
Oh, when will the great castrophony end,
Mm, when it does the sky's shall cry,
The mountains shall erupt with inevitable anger,
When this happens there will be fire! And then...
Nothing.
I sit and I wait,
For that fire to consume the Earth,
I wait for individuality to explode,
I wait for this firery Hell to engulf their minds,
I wait for their sameness to become different!
I sit and writhe in my own skin,
My heart screaming,
I can't live as one of them,
I shall not live that way,
I would rather slit my own damn throat!
I sit and I crawl in my skin,
As if the agony of America were my own,
And still they remain the same,
I scream, I cut, I rip at their minds,
And they remain the same!

What Inn is this
115
What Inn is this
Where for the night
Peculiar Traveller comes?
Who is the Landlord?
Where the maids?
Behold, what curious rooms!
No ruddy fires on the hearth—
No brimming Tankards flow—
Necromancer! Landlord!
Who are these below?

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds.

The Good Lord Watches Over Poets And Fools
The good Lord watches over poets and fools
Not exactly one of life’s little rules
Now which one do I happen to be?
Give me a minute and you shall see
I know it’s not cool
To be called a fool
Although I consider myself a poet
There are many who don’t know it
You might consider me a foolish poet
I know this poem is silly but I wrote it
I’m having fun with this little rhyme
Although some may say I’m wasting my time
My poetic license seems to have expired
Cause this isn’t exactly what I desired
But playing with words is such great fun
And knowing they’ll often touch someone

Troopin
(Our Army in the East)
Troopin', troopin', troopin' to the sea:
'Ere's September come again -- the six-year men are free.
O leave the dead be'ind us, for they cannot come away
To where the ship's a-coalin' up that takes us 'ome to-day.
We're goin' 'ome, we're goin' 'ome,
Our ship is at the shore,
An' you must pack your 'aversack,
For we won't come back no more.
Ho, don't you grieve for me,
My lovely Mary-Ann,
For I'll marry you yit on a fourp'ny bit
As a time-expired man.
The ~Malabar~'s in 'arbour with the ~Jumner~ at 'er tail,
An' the time-expired's waitin' of 'is orders for to sail.
Ho! the weary waitin' when on Khyber 'ills we lay,
But the time-expired's waitin' of 'is orders 'ome to-day.
They'll turn us out at Portsmouth wharf in cold an' wet an' rain,
All wearin' Injian cotton kit, but we will not complain;
They'll kill us of pneumonia -- for that's their little way --
But damn the chills and fever, men, we're goin' 'ome to-day!
Troopin', troopin', winter's round again!
See the new draf's pourin' in for the old campaign;
Ho, you poor recruities, but you've got to earn your pay --
What's the last from Lunnon, lads? We're goin' there to-day.
Troopin', troopin', give another cheer --
'Ere's to English women an' a quart of English beer.
The Colonel an' the regiment an' all who've got to stay,
Gawd's mercy strike 'em gentle -- Whoop! we're goin' 'ome to-day.
We're goin' 'ome, we're goin' 'ome,
Our ship is at the shore,
An' you must pack your 'aversack,
For we won't come back no more.
Ho, don't you grieve for me,
My lovely Mary-Ann,
For I'll marry you yit on a fourp'ny bit
As a time-expired man.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall
she turn to him for his thoughts,
even a simple whisper,
anything she said would do
to break up this silence
between us two,
but she heard nothing
than headed on home
feeling lonely on her own,
saying to her self i wanting his love,
needing his touch and all i got
was nothing much,
than she headed to the mirror starting to cry
saying mirror, mirror, on the wall
am i not pretty, and cute
at lease I think i am, i can also be funny
if given the chance, maybe that would bring me
some of his sweet romance, so please
me mirror, mirror on the wall won't you answer me
but all she heard was nothing not even from him,
and the others got something so she believe
as she mumbles quietly saying as she leaves
am i not pretty enough for him?
or am i just another face to him?
or do i take up to much space for him?
oh mirror, mirror on the wall please help me,
because he act's different around me
when i ring his door, is the other one going
out the back door? he said no, but i say yes
i think i'm pretty sure i said,
oh mirror mirror on the wall
i'm asking you once more
what do you think?
and once again please tell me
if i'm pretty enough for him,
and if you can't say yes or any thing
than can you at lease give me the courage
of what i'm about to do,
and can you keep my finger steady
and talk me through when i say i'm ready,
and please for give me for the mess
i'm about to make
in my last step i'm gonna take,

The Alchemist And The Mouse
Once there lived an alchemist in a strange and distant land,
So wise and famous and revered, great power he did command.
For he could turn base metal in a flash to solid gold,
And so the alchemist grew rich, as he in years grew old.
The alchemist had riches, but a mortal man was he,
And came unto his house one day, a gypsy to foresee
His fortune with a crystal ball that showed his time was nigh,
So he a magic potion made, his own death to defy.
And when this potion to give immortality was made,
He took the potion to his lips, but then his hand he stayed,
For there his pet, a small brown mouse, was sitting on his knee;
He gave the mouse a sip and waited, the effect to see.
So time it passed, the mouse it thrived, so then he drank the brew.
Now safe from death, his fame increased, and so his fortune grew.
And so the years went by, he didn't age, always was well;
He and the mouse lived on, and to them nothing bad befell.
The centuries rolled on, his friends and relatives were dead.
In time the human race was gone as onward time it sped,
But even Earth is mortal, and at last the Sun grew tired;
The Earth became a cold dark rock, its spirit had expired.
And all was black, for only feeble starlight pricked the sky,
And silence reigned for there were only two who didn't die;
There gazing out to space, the last two tenants of the house;
The sad and lonely alchemist; by his side an ancient mouse.
