Coppies

I sit and I hear them,
I see them,
But they sound the same,
They look the same.

I sit and I think about them,
Coppies of the same person,
All the same walk,
Same look,
They're all naive, all ignorant bastards!

I sit and I notice everything,
I notice the sounds,
And I notice the birds,
I notice the screaming of the city,
I notice the blindness of THEM.

I sit and wonder,
When will they see themselves,
In the mirror of the other's faces,
When will they tear eachother into pieces,
When will they remove their fake masks? !

I sit and I see the world,
I see it for what it is,
A great black pit,
Filled with people,
Who are filled with shit!

Oh, when will the great castrophony end,
Mm, when it does the sky's shall cry,
The mountains shall erupt with inevitable anger,
When this happens there will be fire! And then...
Nothing.

I sit and I wait,
For that fire to consume the Earth,
I wait for individuality to explode,
I wait for this firery Hell to engulf their minds,
I wait for their sameness to become different!

I sit and writhe in my own skin,
My heart screaming,
I can't live as one of them,
I shall not live that way,
I would rather slit my own damn throat!

I sit and I crawl in my skin,
As if the agony of America were my own,
And still they remain the same,
I scream, I cut, I rip at their minds,
And they remain the same!

I'm sorry, I didn't notice

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When this started to happen
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I just let it begin

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The change in anythin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When we stopped talkin'

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
We weren't letting each other in
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
That sad, sad trend

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The beginning of the end
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
You were no longer my friend

But believe me, now I notice
And it hurts deep within
Now that I notice
I hope you'll be again

I've Come to Notice More Now

I've come to notice more now,
The falling snow.
I've come to notice more now,
A certain purpose...
I had disavowed.
I've come to notice more now,
The core of my being with more meaning.
A joy I can express...
With less emphasis on things collected.
And a happiness I always had,
But somehow did not allow.
I've come to notice more now,
I can.
I've come to notice more now,
I will!
I've come to notice more now,
My needs are basically fulfilled.
Without desire to seek approval,
Sought to identify my peace of mind!
I've come to notice more now,
Thoughts like that I have left behind.
And notice, I do...
My blessings!

Notice What This Poem Is Not Doing

The light along the hills in the morning
comes down slowly, naming the trees
white, then coasting the ground for stones to nominate.

Notice what this poem is not doing.

A house, a house, a barn, the old
quarry, where the river shrugs--
how much of this place is yours?

Notice what this poem is not doing.

Every person gone has taken a stone
to hold, and catch the sun. The carving
says, "Not here, but called away."

Notice what this poem is not doing.

The sun, the earth, the sky, all wait.
The crowns and redbirds talk. The light
along the hills has come, has found you.

Notice what this poem has not done.

You 'Have' To Notice It

Lets...
Discuss,
Racism.
And how it affects you daily.

'It doesn't.'

Comeon.
You have to notice it?

'I do.'

So...
You are affected.

'No.
I am not.'

Of course you are.
You are obviously black.
A black man.

'And? '

If I were black I would notice that.
Everywhere I would notice it.
Everywhere I went...
It would be on my mind.
In my consciousness.
I'd be full of resentment.
I wouldn't be able to sleep,
Knowing I stood out amongst all people.
I would feel insecure.
Emotionally tormented inside,
With wishes to be white.
I would be...

Are you done?

'Yes.
But I just wanted you to know,
How I would feel...
IF I were a black man.'

Sorry to disappoint you.
Perhaps my commitment,
To having an identity with purpose first...
Has not prioritized my being black.
As much as you have.
Are you hoping one day I will feel inferiror?

'You don't? '

By what or who?

'Those who feel they are better than you.'

I don't fantasize.
But I realize there are many who do.
And I notice them everywhere I go.
You have to notice it too?

'I don't.'

R.D. Laing

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds.

The Secret Pond

you know the way to the secret pond of my heart
meet me there
and stay there for a while

do you not notice the wild grass growing there?
think of me as the unintended
think of me as the wanton beauty of the grass
that plans nothing to spread anywhere
think of me as a free vine
bringing soon a flower to you lips

do you notice the grey stones blunt and the pebbles black?
think of me as a certain hardness uncracked by the pain
of infidelities, think of me as pebbles that you through
after some sweet confidences after some utility
think of me as a stone that may kill a mocking bird

do you notice the stagnant waters there?
still, and quiet, and not flowing
it is what my love is all about, no noise, no words, no transfering
from one brook to another

do you notice my absence? be patient, wait for a while.
soon i may come but like a cloud above that secret pond
i may just be a drifter, a passer by, a vagabond, a wisp of air, a hush
a ghost, a phantom, an image, a shadow, a mirage.

yes, it will still be sad and lonely.

Confused

A girl at 15 sits in her room and begins to write in her journal.
I just started to notice certain people in a romantic way.
I notice their scent as they walk by.
I remember the sound of their laugh.
I notice ever muscle tone in their body.
And I daydream about their lips kissing mine and taking my breath away.
But I’m confused because those who I have romantic feeling about are the same sex as me

Without Given Notice

Next time you remove something of mine at your liking.
Without given notice.

For it is my right as the author.
The reason behind the reasons.
Things do not just happen.
With a grievance I will make you aware of just how offended I am
I am not the son of sam.
My works are not evil in intent.
They are as I feel, as I am.
I say to you judges and juries
What gives you the right
Without given notice

Like a contract I feel it has been broken.
What has been under copy write has just been stolen.
I think not I own the original.
It in a note book and on my computer
So good luck and god bless.
I wish you the best
Without given notice.

The Wait

(originally recorded by killing joke)
[one, two, three, four]
Motives changing, day to day
The fire increases, masks decay
I look at the river, white foam floats down
The bodys poisoned, gotta sit tight
The wait
The wait
The wait
The wait
After wakening, silence grows
The screams subside, distortion shows
Mutant thoughts, of bad mouthed news
Its just another birth, of distorted views
The wait
The wait
The wait
The wait
The wait
The wait

You've Got to Notice...

You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.
You've got to notice...
People clearly out of their minds.

You've got to watch.Your back.
And every little step you take.
You can not stop.To drop...
A point of view someone will take,
And hate...you!

You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.
You've got to notice...
People clearly out of their minds.

You can not smile. Or nod. Or say hello,
'Have a good day! '
You may regret.Someone you've met.
Then get upset.
When they just turn, and walk away!
That's how it is today.

You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.
You've got to notice...
People clearly out of their minds.

You've got to watch.Your back.
And every little step you take.
You can not stop.To drop...
A point of view someone will take,
And hate with such rage....displayed.

People are in a rage.
Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.

Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.

Don't stop. Don't stop!
Pat your feet to the beat...
Repeat!

People are in a rage.
Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.

You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.

And every little step you take.
You can not stop.To drop...
A point of view someone will take,
And hate...you!

You can not smile. Or nod. Or say hello,
'Have a good day! '
You'll be hated anyway...
Today.
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Each and every day.

Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.

Don't stop. Don't stop!
Pat your feet to the beat...
Repeat!

Snap or pop your fingers,
As you hip hop down the streets.
Today!
People display such a craze!
And it seems to be 'okay',
This way!

A Dream In Atlantis

In the distance you notice a flickering light.
It grows brighter and larger as you slice your
way through the cold water.

What can it be?
Soon a glowing coral reef reveals itself.
You can almost compare the light it emits to daylight,
so strong is it.

Much to your astonishment you find
the reef molded into what seems to be buildings.
There are arch ways,
what seems to be windows and wait...
what’s that?
A person?
You’ve spotted a merman!

Someone like you now.
And there are more of them!
They notice you and suddenly
several of them torpedo towards you at great speed.

For the first time in your dream
you are frightened.
They come bearing smiles however,
each one of them funneling around you
as they swim up,
twisting their bodies around yours
without touching you
and finally halting above
of you as they conclude
what seems to be a greeting.

Airplane

Over the city in an airplane
I can see everything below
The houses they look so tiny
The cars look like dots
Weve only got fifteen minutes to go
The clouds in the sky caress my mind so tenderly
The sun shines down on the great big beautiful scene
The sound of the engine fills my ears up
Im hopin this rainy weather clears up
My lover is waiting at the airport
Soon shell be kissing me hello
The woman sitting next to me tells me bout her guy
And I tell her all about you and i
Airplane, airplane
Carry me back to her side
Airplane, airplane
I need God as my guide
Down, down on the ground
Cant wait to see her face
(a-1, a-2, a-1, 2, 3)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)

Invisible

Invisible
By: Jean Pullman

Why don’t you look at me
What will it take for you notice me
I try to be myself to you I am real
I tell you how I feel
But still.

CHORUS
You won’t look my way
I die slowly every day
You don’t notice my hair
You don’t like what I wear
It’s as if I am invisible
Because you just don’t see my visual.

I start to wonder why
I think I might even cry
Because you can’t see
That you’re perfect for me
You’re not meant for her
But to you I’m just a blur.

CHORUS
You never look my way
You don’t hear what I say
You never notice my hair
You never see what I wear
It’s as if I’m invisible
Because you just don’t see my visual.

Now I am almost dead
My heart is filled with dread
You still haven’t looked my way
My life slowly slips away
Because of you now I’m gone.

How They Do That! And, Survive

I've begun to notice those same people,
Were standing on this corner yesterday.
And now they are on that corner.
What's going on?

'Neither one of us are doing too much,
If I agree we both notice...
People with nothing to do,
But move from one side of the street...
To the other.'

Yeah?
But there is a difference.

'And what is that?
We both still have our jobs.'

You're right.
We complain everyday about the same routine.
To do nothing else,
But notice the same people do nothing...
As you put it.

'Like I said.
There is a difference.
We are getting paid to do nothing.'

And very soon,
Guess what?

'What? '

We might, one day...
Be asking them how they do that!
And, survive.

Throw Yourself Away

Baby's born on the bathroom floor
her mother prays that it'll never cry
but nothing's wrong you got your prom dress on
When they ask you'llsay it isn't mine
Oooh, you know they're gonna know you lied
Why the hell don't you throw yourself away
You know they're gonna burn it down
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God ain't even helping you out
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God aint even helping you
Why the hell don't you throw yourself away
You know they're gonna burn it down
So keep the way you feel anonymous
And hide it all until the day you die
your secret's safe at least you thought it was
But you can only keep it for a little while
Oooh, and now you're terrified
Why the hell don't you throw yourself away
You know they're gonna burn it down
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God ain't even helping you out
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God aint even helping you
Why the hell don't you throw yourself away
You know they're gonna burn it down
Baby's born on the bathroom floor
Her Mother prays that it'll never cry
but nothing's wrong you got your prom dress on
And when they ask you say it isn't mine
And damn you for thinkin' we would never know
And damn you for thinkin' we would never mind
theOnly reason that you'd made it this far
You never asked him but you never try
Why the hell don't you throw yourself away
Why the hell don't you throw yourself away
You know they're gonna burn it down
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God aint even helping you out
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God aint even helping you out
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God aint even helping you out
Wash my, hands of this
You notice that God aint even helping you
Why the hell don't you throw yourself away
You know they're gonna burn it down

Why Can't It Just Wait?

Damn the wrinkles
And damn my hide,
I know this old mirror is
Filled with lies-
Why can't it just wait?
The hair gone gray
And rather thin,
The light in my eyes
Grows steadily dim-
Why can't it just wait?
There's things been erased
I can't recall,
Like loves first kiss
And the wild-wonder of it all-
Why can't it just wait?
Like a blizzard it's coming on
With age and wear,
Life's bitter cold wind blowing
Out there-
Why can't it just wait?
That old Reaper
Dark and grim,
I know someday
I will have to greet him-
Why can't it just wait?
One last breath
Sails to Heaven's gate,
Time to go -
It just can't wait.

Look At Me

Look at me

Look at my mouth,
the little up-curve at the ends;

Look at my hair
the way I flip it when I talk;

Look at what I wear
some of it is for you.

Notice how I smell.

Notice how I look,
and how I breathe
when you are near;

come close to me;
lean in when we talk.

Touch my face sometimes.

Notice the brown specks
in my green eyes;

touch me
when I walk by;

And laugh a little
for no reason
when you say hello.

Look at me
at odd times
from across the room.

Back into me at parties
expecting a hug
from behind

And thank you love

cause you do all this

all the time.

You Ask Me If I Change

you ask me if i change
i tell you, yes i always change
don't you notice it?

some hairs on my head
are whiter now, and some
have fallen without any
sound, my wrinkles move
and they beget wrinkles

my eyes fail, my hands
tremble, my feet dwindle,
my memory of names and
places are wanting of
particulars

i change. Everything in me
changes beside you and
how can you not notice it?

i know, we are too near
and we are always together
in this familiarity where
changes are everyday and

yes, how could we not notice
all these, my dear?

you are laughing, a lock
of your hair is falling too.
