I remember at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Shaq always wanted me to show him steps over and over.

My wife and I came to Canada for the 1994 Commonwealth Games and we really liked the B.C. lifestyle and environment. The following year we applied to become permanent residents. We moved here in 1996 after the Atlanta Olympics.

The Olympics are coming... and it's a big problem in American politics, because the problem with holding the Olympics this fall is that we're all going to be focused on the Olympics, and it makes that window of opportunity for Gore to win the election that much smaller.

Remember Me Please

If one day you ever care to see me
remember me remember me
please…

remember my eyes
when you see some one suffering from love and all they do is cry
remember my lips, when you take the sweetest sip
remember my words my love every day
like in the mornings when you hear the doves sing so gay
remember my smile
exactly like a 8 year old child smiles
remember my body
when you hug your pillow to whisper you love me
remember me when I use to travel every inch of your body
remember me when I fell in your heart and you found me
remember that your lips where all I ever wanted to drink
remember that your eyes where all I ever wanted to see
next to you the only place I wanted to be
remember me please....
when I begged you so you wouldn’t leave

remember when I was inside of your heart
and nothing in this world could break us apart

remember
remember me
please…

Oh Atlanta

(bill payne)
Well, theres a place down kentucky
Said right down near ohio
You can watch the planes at night
People line up to watch each flight
I said a-watchin them planes
Well I wish I was on one
Sittin here thinkin bout my crazy dream
If I could only see him tonight
Oh atlanta, oh atlanta
Whoah whoah atlanta
Got to get back to you
You can drop me off on peachtree
I got to feel that georgia sun
And the people in atlanta
They make you awful glad you come
I said a-watchin them planes
Well I wish I was on one
Sittin here thinkin bout my crazy dream
If I could only see him tonight
Oh atlanta, oh atlanta
Whoah whoah atlanta
Got to get back to you
Well go down, just you and me
Where the music plays all night
Theyve got the boogie band playin thats bound for hell
When they get to movin they never stop
They just keep on playin that down home beat
(keep on layin down harmony)
Yeah I wish I was on one
Sittin here thinkin bout my crazy dream
If I could only see him tonight

Eight Easy Steps

How to stay paralyzed by fear of abandonment
How to defer to men in solve-able predicaments
How to control someone to be a carbon copy of you
How to have that not work and have them run away from you
How to keep people at arm's length and never get too close
How to mistrust the ones you supposedly love the most
How to pretend you're fine and don't need help from anyone
How to feel worthless unless you're serving or helping someone
I'll teach you all this in eight easy steps
A course of a lifetime you'll never forget
I'll show you how to in eight easy steps
I'll show you how leadership looks when taught by the best
How to hate women when you're supposed to be a feminist
How to play all pious when you're really a hypocrite
How to hate god when you're a pray-er and a spiritualist
How to sabotage your fantasies by fears of success
I'll teach you all this in eight easy steps
A course of a lifetime you'll never forget
I'll show you how to in eight easy steps
I'll show you how leadership looks when taught by the best
I've been doing research for years
I've been practicing my ass off
I've been training my whole life for this moment I swear to you
Culminating just to be this well-versed leader before you
I'll teach you all this in eight easy steps
A course of a lifetime you'll never forget
I'll show you how to in eight easy steps
I'll show you how leadership looks when taught by the best
How to lie to yourself and thereby to everyone else
How to keep smiling when you're thinking of killing yourself
How to numb a la holic to avoid going within
How to stay stuck in blue by blaming them for everything
I'll teach you all this in eight easy steps
A course of a lifetime you'll never forget
I'll show you how to in eight easy steps
I'll show you how leadership looks when taught by the best

With First Steps Taken

In it from the beginning!
With first steps taken and a curiousness.
Yes,
In the beginning...
I felt was mine was what I touched.

And it seemed so real,
I could take...
What it was I touched.

In it from the beginning!
With first steps taken and a curiousness.
Yes,
It was the beginning,
That made me feel...
I could take whatever I touched.

And it seemed so real,
I could take,
What it was I touched.
And wanted much.

Like a toy I saw another child with it and had,
I wanted.
I wanted.

Like a car I saw drive away from my path,
I wanted.
I wanted.

Like a love between two people shared,
Who acted like they walked on air...
I wanted.
I wanted.

And it seemed so real,
I could take,
What it was I touched.
And wanted much.

If I saw somebody new and they were with someone else,
So what...
I just wanted.
To get up on it.

And it seemed so real to me,
I could take anything I wanted.
To flaunt and get up on it.

Like a love between two people shared,
Who acted like they walked on air...
I wanted.
Oh yes,
I wanted.

Because it seemed so real to me,
I could take anything I wanted.
To flaunt and get up on it.

Yes, it seemed a dream to me...
To feed whatever I wanted.

Remember When..

remember when i would cry
remember when you would just pass by
remember when you left
remember when i was blessed
remember when you left me
remember my whole family
remember your doughters and your sons
remember that they are not the only ones
remember all the trauma you caused
remember when our paths were crossed
remember when you wanted to say good bye
my world shattered because you were to me a nice mom.
i dont think you will remember this
because this might seem like nonsense.

Beautiful Angel

Nobody wants to take the blame
Everybody wants to stay the same
All I want is what you had
I never meant to make you feel so sad
But you should have known it
Cause I tried to show it
So it woudnt happen this way
Yeh I tried to show you
My beautiful angel
My beautiful angel
I only wanted you
To this day I cant explain
Why I stole him away
I guess I thought youd run to me
I didnt really know how wrong Id be
Well you should have known it
Cause I tried to show it
Ive been tasting your tears for too long
Yeh I tried to show you
I never asked for nothin
I I only wanted you
My beautiful angel
My beautiful angel
I only wanted you
I tried to show you
My beautiful angel
I only wanted you

I'll See It Through

When you touch me
I feel there's nothing you can do to turn me away
And I know that
In the past you've had bad luck so I should help you stay
You're all I ever wanted
You're all I ever needed, it's you
You're all I've ever wanted
And loving you's the right thing to do
And I'll see it through
When I close my eyes
And think of you it takes me places that I've never seen
And the rain, it blows
You're brushing up against my skin to wash me clean
You're all I ever wanted
You're all I ever needed - it's you
You're all I've ever wanted
And loving you's the right thing to do
And I'll see it through
I'll show you the love in my head
I'll show you the love that we had
I'll show you the love in my head
I'll show you the love that we had
You're all I ever wanted
You're all I've ever needed, it's you
You're all I've ever wanted

The Pub or the Gym?

The Olympics is on it's way to the U.K.
but I remember the last one in Bejing
it caused lots and lots of couch potatoes
to take up Running, Swimming, and Cycling.
But that's what the Olympics can do
it can make you go suddenly to the Gym
go running for hours on the treadmill
lift heavy weights and go for a swim.
The unfit bought tracksuits and trainers
stopped smoking and going to the pub
they became regulars at Holland and Barrets
and spent a fortune at their local Health Club.
But alas all those years lying on the sofa
hadn't helped to strengthen the back
so that noise you heard whilst pumping iron
that was someone's Spine going crack.
But the novelty finally wore off
as the Gym became a living nightmare
so it was goodbye to circuit training
and hello again to the local The Dog and Hare.
So a word of warning to all you couch potatoes
watch out as the Olympics may get you off your settee
so I'd advice those who are out of condition
just lie there and watch it all on your T.V.!

Camellia

(john oates)
Opening night, nothing new atlanta
Into the spotlight, one more time
Just in time to play
To one man and an empty table
He was drinking down the pain
All he could say was this ladys name...
Oh camellia wont you take me away
After the show, when the room was empty
No, he wouldnt go
So I asked him why he called her name
It seems she was some magic one night
With something for his pain
But all she left was a pretty name...
Oh camellia wont you take me away
To paradise tropical moon
Dont you leave me sitting here in atlanta

I Remember.....

I remember going to your house,
Staying up till the early hours of morning

I remember shaving our legs together,
And putting on lotion;

I remember when we went to Winnipeg just a few weeks ago,
And tried on the really good-smelling perfume

I remember going to the park together,
Sometimes at lunch, sometimes after school

I remember “doing our homework”,
When really we just wanted to be together

I remember the first time you took me to your youth,
And saturate,
And our much fun we had

I remember having sleepovers,
How I would always fall asleep before you

I remember just this past year when,
For Christmas, you gave me love and reindeer socks

I remember writing notes to each other,
In class,
Sometimes getting caught, most often not

I remember using this type of font to do our E.L.A homework,
Of course waiting till the last minute

I remember your hugs and how you were most often there,
Even when I acted like a bear

I remember us being annoyed at each other a lot,
But we always made up the next day

I remember how cheesy this poem may be,
But I just wanted to say,

I love you **, and I will remember you till we meet again

In sports, people reach their peak very early. You have to move on. I don't know if I will ever surpass what I did at the Olympics, but I'm still doing the work I always wanted to do.
