If you study the writings of the mystics, you will always find things in them that appear to be paradoxes, as in Zen, particularly.

Writings On The Wall
The writings on the wall brother
Your life is in your hands
Its up to you to see the writings on the wall.
It looks you in the eye mister
Its time we stand up tall
Go see and understand the writings on the wall.
Strange we hold on to things that have no grace
Or power
While death holds on to us much more with every
Passing hour
And all the time you thought it would last
Your life, your friends would always be
til theyre drunk away or shot away or die away
From you.
Theres nothing that you need sister
The lord is in you all
Life is designed to see the writings on the wall.
The musics in the air mothers
You may have heard it call
To you that you may see the writings on the wall.
Be careful going home sister
Be watchful down that road
Youve got a lot of love sister
More to grow.
The writings on the wall brothers
Your life is in your hands
Its up to you to see the writings on the wall
I hope that you may see the writings on the wall.

REALLY! How Imaginative
People have stated,
They 'see' themselves...
Depicted in your writings.
Do you find that to be a compliment?
Or is that to you a coincidence?
Purely circumstantial is it?
'I find that most strange.
Since most of my writings,
Are focused upon the sexual preferences...
Of bees vacationing alone without their spouses,
In the Antarctic.
And doing 'odd' things with the polar bears there.
You know...
In The South Pole.'
REALLY!
How creative.
And all this time,
I perceived your depictions to have a human element...
Associated with them.
I see this clearly now.
Very vividly.
'REALLY!
How imaginative.'

Ordinary readers, forgive my paradoxes: one must make them when one reflects; and whatever you may say, I prefer being a man with paradoxes than a man with prejudices.

The Mystics
The mystics of love and the mystics of life,
Where is my lover to kiss my lips? !
I have been waiting for so long in the rain and,
Your nakedness is somewhere else.

We study the injustices of history for the same reason that we study genocide, and for the same reason that psychologists study the minds of murderers and rapists... to understand how those evil things came about.

Rise & Fall
Sometimes in life you feel the fight is over (over)
And it seems as though the writings on the wall (yeah)
Superstar you finally made it
But once your picture becomes tainted
It's what they call
The rise and fall (x2)
I always said that I was gonna make it
Now it's plain for everyone to see
But this game I'm in don't take no prisoners
Just casualties
I know that everything is gonna change
Even the friends I knew before me go
But this dream is the life I've been searching for
Started believing that I was the greatest
My life was never gonna be the same
Cause with the money came a different status
That's when things changed
Now I'm too concerned with all the things I own
Blinded by all the pretty girls I see
I'm beginning to lose my integrity
Sometimes in life you feel the fight is over (over)
And it seems as though the writings on the wall (yeah)
Superstar you finally made it
But once your picture becomes tainted
It's what they call
The rise and fall
I never used to be a troublemaker
Now I don't even wanna please the fans
No autographs
No interviews
No pictures
And less demands
Given advices that were clearly wrong
The type that seemed to make me feel so right
But some things you may find can take over your life
Burnt all my bridges now I've run out of places
And there's nowhere left for me to turn
Been caught in compromising situations
I should have learned
From all those times I didn't walk away
When I knew that it was best to go
Is it too late to show you the shape of my heart
Sometimes in life you feel the fight is over (over)
And it seems as though the writings on the wall (yeah)

I Believe
Here I am a man in a new generation
Keep hanging on to where I belong
I believe the world is one
Behind this masquerade
Reach out of the darkness
And bring in the light into day
Here I am a man with a old fascination
(just an old fascination)
Still holding the line on my time
cause I believe the day will come
When things will work out right
Reach out to your brothers
And save every mother and child
Well I want you to know
I believe that a love can find a way
And I believe that a heart of stone can break
I believe that a wise man hears a call
And the writings on the wall
And its shining so bright and clear
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I believe whats done is done
And what will be will be
Reach out to each other
A moment is all you need
Well I want you to know
I believe that a love can find a way
And I believe that a heart of stone can break
I believe that a wise man hears a call
And the writings on the wall
And its shining so bright and clear

Play not with paradoxes. That caustic which you handle in order to scorch others may happen to sear your own fingers and make them dead to the quality of things.

A Little Trip Down Memory Lane
I found a box filled with notebooks
each filled with my writings of yesterdays.
Writings that I had forgotten about
across the span of time.
They are of no great importance,
but within their contents,
I wonder if I will find some missing gems
something, I may have written down
and forgot about many years ago.
I’m going to have to go through each one.
It will be like returning to the past
without the baggage it held.
A little trip down memory lane
when dreams were active then.
I shall take my time and linger
trying to remember what I was doing
when I wrote whatever is there.

Not to Re-enter
The name you leave will not survive
Unless using it is profitable.
The things you leave will not remain
Unless the holders find some value...
The writings you leave will not catch
Unless these serve them identity.
Should the dead come back they would curse themselves why they had come at all.

There are two methods for the literary study of any book - the first being the study of its thought and emotion; the second only that of its workmanship. A student of literature should study some of the Bible from both points of view.

It Is All About Love
They are the rare breed of the world of mystics,
And are like the supernatural acts of the soul;
Oh, how i feel i could touch them all.
However, i now squint back into my past.
Like the conscious of a missing like that needs a recall,
I see them pass me by;
As i sit here in my little appartment.
Yes, women of all shapes to touch my heart;
Like 'Men In Black' for an acion film.
It is all about love,
Like the women in black with more imaginations;
But at first, it was like a dream to me.
It is all about love and,
Love had taken control of the acts and the arts!
So you now know why i do need your love.
This is all about love when the mystics do talk,
Because your breed is the kind that i need;
But many are in deciphir,
Like a matured tree without fruits.
You are the best for me to make a choice,
With an impression on your special love;
So let me in when i do knock at your door.
It is all about love,
It is all about the life we live in;
With the key to move all things as love.
You are among the best of breeds,
But i will always fight hard to get to you always;
Like the conscious of a missing link that needs a recall.

Sometime Love Is Metaphor...
Many times writings of love, are for the most
part, a metaphor for a dream. A love
that one has searched for all their life.
The writings is all one imagines them to be and
all the words one longs to say, to one
they have never known.
0283 A Poet Condescends
It has been brought to my notice
that a review by you of
my latest book of writings
(the term ‘poem’ suggests
false expectations and is not therefore
used by me) claims that, I quote,
‘this poetry is so obscure that
I reckon it’s a hoax’…
Your comment is truer than
you yourself would appreciate.
My writing is indeed a hoax
in terms of your level of
understanding. I do not seek
easy paths to meaning, nor
the standard readymade language of the
avant-garde. So what I have
worked though, you have not,
and therefore, your understanding
however partial would be, in your
terms, a hoax.
Indeed, were you to write
an identical ‘poem’ to my writing,
it would indeed be a hoax –
it would not be the revisioning
of the cosmos, the semantic discourse
with language and communication itself,
the thoughtful and reasoned displacement
of prepositions and their too-long
accepted usage, the deep rejection of
all parameters of lazy thinking about
the imagined ‘purpose’ of poetry,
the study of Chinese orthography as preferred signifier,
in short, the ‘depth’ and ‘breadth’ –
although I of course reject the
accepted implications of those
out-dated metaphors for the
neurological Cartesian – which, in short,
‘I’ as presented in my writing
have voyaged.
However, in
the spirit of charity, I wish you well
in the deeper study of my writings,
and your ‘poetry’ magazine
should it continue its somewhat
faltering publication.
Besides, I’m a widely published
writer so yah boo sucks.
(Palinode to the above: everyone has the right to write obscure poetry...I'm unfairly attributing to the poet the attitude of those who put themselves on a pedestal and 'explain' why they're a genius...) (Though of course...)

To My Sons, Eddie & Edwin
You're my cute little son,
But you're always stubborn,
Fast to get anger and upset
Very small hearted person.
Why you so like that
Give me the reasons
Why? , why? , why?
Why you so disobedient person?
You all are clever
But lazy and hard headed
Sometimes, you are good
But you're very naughty boy.
Always Be a good boy
My boy, my boy,
Listen to elderly always,
Respect your parents.
Please study hard
Study smarter
Future in your hands
No one can change you
Unless yourself.
Don't play only
Remember to study things
You love and likes
Learn as much as you can.
Time is short,
Time never return,
Study when you're young
Study when you're grow up too.
Stop playing games,
Start your lessons on time
Stop fooling around,
Stop arguing with parents.
My sons, Eddie and Edwin
Always I love you all
No matter Where,
No matter When,
No matter How.
You're always my sons.

Life
MID A HOARD OF PARADOXES INDEED,
ENTWINED IN A SERIES OF CONTRADICTIONS,
BE CAREFUL TO TAKE UTMOST HEED.
AVOID ONE OF LIFE’S GREAT AFFLICTIONS.
NEVER NURTURE IMAGES OF SIMPLICITY’S LIE.
DON’T BATTLE CONTRADICTIONS THAT ARE REAL.
ESPOUSE THE CHANCE TO UNDERSTAND WHY
OR ACCEPT THEM ON FAITH AND WITH ZEAL.
PEOPLE AREN’T ALL GOOD NOR ARE THEY ALL BAD;
AS THE SUN THAT GIVES LIFE AND TAKES IT AWAY.
DON’T LET PARADOXES OR CONTRADITIONS BE SAD.
THEN HAPPINESS WILL RULE YOUR DAY.
BUT IF YOU DRINK FROM THE CUP OF SIMPLICITY,
REFUSING TO ACCEPT LIFE’S CONTRADICTIONS,
MOST SURELY YOU’LL BE ANGRY, SAD AND LONLEY,
PARADOXICALLY ONE OF LIFE’S GREAT AFFLICTIONS.

Mystic Chord
Memory, whose mystic chord
suggests existence of the Lord,
draws some to Gustav's music, Mahler,
many others to Kabbalah,
and even when agnostic, mystics
responsive to Pascal’s statistics,
find Leon’s Moses, sephirotic,
believable, because erotic.
Castilian writings that they dust off
appeal to me far less than Gustav.
Who’s right we may find out in olam
haba, but surely not from Scholem.
Richard Bernstein reviews “American Culture, American Tastes: Social Tastes: Social Changes and the 20th Century, ” by Michael Kammen (Alfred A. Knopf) (“Lowbrow? Highbrow? Culture Raises an Eyebrow, ' the NYT, August 25,1999) . Kammen, the author of 'Mystic Chords of Memory, ” pointing out that since the dominant role of television around 1960 cultural stratification and the existence of distinct brow levels have become blurred where they haven't been overtly blended. He traces the decline of traditional cultural authority and its eclipse by mass culture: “The entrepreneurial power of commerce totally crushed the recommendations of such cultural authorities as John Crosby, Jack Gould and Gilbert Seldes–– prominent television critics who pleaded for diversity.”

I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain.
