I made a gym, it's the best gym in Nicaragua, I have kids that this year July 6th through the 11th will be fighting and then will go on to the Central American Games and I'm sure at least one will win a gold medal.

Happy Fourth of July America!

Wanna' know how many lil' kids
Go to bed hungry in the U.SA
Each night?

If I said "over a million"
Would you sleep any
less sound tonight?

And how many of you
Would agree with me
That being a kid can be rough?

Well…over six million American kids
Get either very little food…each day
Or simply not enough.

Feelin' uncomfortable yet? I hope so! ! !
Think about it, when you're chowin' down
This bountiful 4th of July

Foreign aid paid in one year to 150 countries
Including some enemies, is 58 billion, more or less
All paid by you and I

Our roads and bridges need 2.2 trillion dollars
To be repaired and fixed
And brought up to a safe state

And all the while America crumbles
We've spent more than a trillion (not including Libya)
If futile wars in Afghanistan and Iraq… to date

And one other lil' statistic That I carped about before
on the 4th of July a couple years ago
In a little noticed, seemingly inconsequential poem

Has grown to 6440 American boys killed in action
I hate this statistic! ! It's cruel and sadistic! !
And By God… they should have been kept home! ! !

These are numbers and statistics
Too great for comprehension… by
Ordinary people like you and I

But I hope there's someone out there
That I've made a little bit more aware
And… to my complacent, naïve fellow Americans

A bountiful, happy Fourth of July

(To our leaders)

Aguila Del Norte

Did anybody see them ?
I heard there was a baby
Somebody heard her crying
Weaker through the night
They beat her mama bloody
And shot her with her daddy
It was the terror from above
El aguila del norte
Down in nicaragua
Running from the shadows
Striking holy terror
Deeper in the heart
You believe in freedom
And you believe in justice
But not in nicaragua
Not in nicaragua
Aguila del norte
We can see your power
And the beauty of your freedom
What is in your heart ?
You believe in honor
And you believe in jesus
But not in nicaragua
Not in nicaragua

Yeah, that's what kind of, we get the idea a little bit yeah, because other people from different countries also try as hard as they can to get a medal or a gold medal in the Olympic Games. And you know, if they can work hard, we can work hard as well.

War Games

You’re playing your War Games yet again
Aircraft Carriers, Tanks and Jeeps
Fighting the warfare, and giving pain
Feeling no Karma, you’re in too deep,
You can’t keep starting War Games yet again
A Constitution’s good, not written in stone.
Searching for your Holy Grail
Fighting a War feeling pain
You know it’s going to fail
Peace is the answer, and feeding the poor.
You’ve got power, but you don’t want to let it go, Let it go!
Don't keep on fighting your war games yet again.
The face of the future is asking you How?
You’ll never win any War, so show restrain
You look everywhere, in the back of your mind
Your still playing your war games we must complain
Protecting your finances, while you’ve still got time
Peace is the answer, well it’s better, much better than war
So just remember, you have to, you've got to let us know
When you stop playing your war games forever
You’re playing your War Games together
I want you to make peace and not war
I’m sure you’ve heard that before
You’ve got the power to end it this very day
So stop playing your war games without delay
Let little children grow up in peace,
Stop playing your war games, be clever
It’s better to talk, for the sake of our Earth
You can’t keep playing your war games for ever
Your building a barrier, why can’t you see
You’ve got the cheek to question my sanity.
Just stop playing your War Games altogether
You know talking is the right thing to do

July....

July is the month where the families get the barbeque grills fired up.
July is the month where the night sky is light up with fire works.
July is the month where many families go out of town to be with family.
July is the month where many kids are dreary because it’s a month away for school.
July is the month where America gets to celebrate its independence from England.
July is the month where many people are dying of the heat of the summer.
July is my favorite month because it’s the time that I get to be myself around my family.

Learn Chinese July 11th,2012

LEARN CHINESE July 11th,2012
By
James Bredin

If it was Gaelic they were speaking I might catch a word or two,
But Toronto has turned Chinese and I don't have a clue,
So I think I should learn Mandarin and then we can get along,
I don't know; but is that the language they speak in Hong Kong?

I just looked it up on the Internet and found out to my surprise,
They have more than a hundred languages so I can't improvise,
Has an English-speaking Canadian ever learned Chinese?
Which is easier to learn - Mandarin or Cantonese?

Years ago, I thought of becoming bilingual and learning French,
But Canada is has gone multicultural down a communication trench,
And now I have to find out where they teach easy Chinese,
And maybe eventually, I can pretend I'm Cantonese.

July

I can’t believe it’s already you, July.
Half the year has now passed me by.
A moment ago it was New Year’s Day
With fresh resolutions to pave my way.

My chagrin is rescued by wondrous July
As gorgeous fireworks light up the sky.
This freedom that I assume is owed
Was purchased by many a bloody road.

Though air is sultry and mosquitoes bold,
I prefer you, July, to the winter’s cold.

Have You Seen Me

Have you seen me I just might be your little baby?
Have you seen me I'm lookin' at you with grown up eyes?
Every milk carton and highway billboard sign says maybe.
Have you seen me or have you only seen my disguise?
I had a fight with mama and she said she couldn't stand me.
I had a fight with papa and he really likes to swing his fist.
I'm sick and tired of all those stupid rules they hand me.
They try to make me feel I have no right to exist.
Have you seen me, well I've seen you.
I've seen what the grown ups do.
I've seen I can do that too.
Have you seen me?
Well I'm older now than I was the day I vanished.
You might not even know me if you saw me passin' by.
Others take your place in the dark world of the banished.
On vicious streets where no one hears me cry.
Well you can't run, you can't hide
turn your face, walk inside.
Can't close your doors, because I'm yours.
Have you seen me?
Well I'm fighting in Nicaragua, I'm fighting in Afghanistan.
In Israel I wear a gun, in Palestine a rock is in my hand.
In Africa you see me starve, in America they just throw me away.
But I'm making history that other kids will read about some day
Have you seen me, well I've seen you.
I've seen what the grown ups do.
I've seen I can do that too.
Have you seen me?
Have you seen me?
Have you seen me?
Have you seen me?

Gone (a tribute to those who graduated)

The final days are looming, everyone's hearts are booming,
it's that time of year again,
To farewell the kids who made it through, through the old and through the new,
and survive to see it then.

It's been a long time coming,
all are looking clean and prim,
the chances of survival,
for some, are looking slim

Twelve years it took the kids,
to get to where they are,
the temperatures haved risen and fell,
and yet, they come so far

Gone are the days when they could laugh and play,
and never cause a stir,
gone are the days of playgrounds and games,
it all seems such a blur

As we farewell our seniors,
on this very night,
we wish them all the best of luck,
and share with them their delight

Gold Medal Blues

Please hide the newspapers-and turn off the news.

Please, nobody talk. I’ve got the gold medal blues.

No radio talk show can cure what I got.

Why couldn’t Sid hit the post with that shot?

America’s team gave it their best

We beat those Canadians on the first test.

We out skated the Swiss, steamrollered the Finns-

yet only got Silver for all of our wins.

Though we were the home squad it all seemed so wrong

The crowd in attendance was booing our song.

They dressed all in red, waved the maple leaf flag

One fan looked like Celine Dionne in drag.

Luongo, their goalie, was playing at home

While he made basic stops he did not look that strong.

The American goalie did more to impress

With grace under pressure- no hint of distress

J.P. Parise’s boy gave us some hope

with time running out it was tied like a rope.

But sudden death hockey well deserves its name

Crosby’s second chance shot quickly ended the game

Please hide the newspapers-and turn off the news.

Please, nobody talk. I’ve got the gold medal blues.

No radio talk show can cure what I got.

Why couldn’t Sid hit the post with that shot?

The Wet Monkey lll

The sheet spread behind me on the green
like a detachable white train. I
studied the in-trouble monkey
flailing feebly, spinning or just drifting,
its squirrelly face fixed on the sky,
mouth open, fangs showing, caught
in the grip of the meniscus, barely keeping afloat,
my ten, square toes curled over the edge,
several new minutes of sun-up
having added their gold to the trough.
Did I want to be the savior of a monkey, I thought,
that would never thank me?
but that would otherwise drown
and need to be fished out dead with a long pole
leaving the jungle less one monkey, of which there were lots,
and that probably carried a disease?
That was the question.

In one day there's time for lots of good deeds
most of them pass un-noticed.
From the sky pity rained in my soul
I've a swimmer's body, lithe and long,
with good legs, I've been told,
I won a medal in the Pan South American games
bronze, mind you, but hey,
a medal, no less. I ran. So, it was no big deal
to save a drowning monkey before breakfast.
Should I, all things considered, take a risk?
Did I want to, really. While thinking, the monkey sank-
it looked like a rag, underwater, outspread
limbs fine for swinging through trees useless now:
'Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, ' I cried,
then instinct kicked in-
Identifying with the monkey's plight, I jumped....

Or dove, whatever you want to say...

(three Kids Crying)

Mom and dad fighting
With three kids crying
While the house is falling

For this family is there a place for good?
na..

Mom and dad died
When three kids stop crying
When theres no house to see

Nomore pain showing
For there was noway to help
For all these familys there is no hope
There is no help
There is no past or the future

For the time being there is no happyness
But never well be
For three kids
For i seen it coming
With nothing i could do
To stop my mom and dad fighting
