For a writer, published works are like fallen flowers, but the expected new work is like a calyx waiting to blossom.

'Made it as a writer'? I'm still wondering if I've made it as a writer. I've made it as a published writer of the type of SF that I want to write and read, but I'm still waiting for that big breakthrough.

The Writer's Ink

I am the writer's ink,
So just write with me without any fear;
I will move more than expected,
I will write more than expected,
I am the writer's ink.
Use me slowly or even faster,
I will talk more than expected;
I do have the message to teach everyone.
Of the beauty of communication,
I am used by everyone;
I am the writer's ink,
I do make people sad or glad;
My ink makes rulers sad,
My ink makes personalities sad,
My ink makes the common man sad,
The way i am used matters.
I am the writer's ink,
I am not expensive;
Buy me and use me always.
How can a country like Ghana be poor? !
Ghana has gold, oil, cocoa and timber;
There are also diamond, bauxite and other minerals;
How then can Ghana be poor? !
The writer's ink should tell us more.
Mismanagement is the food in the country,
Ghana has really more than it needs;
This country shouldn't be poor.
What the leaders say on air is not,
What we see on the ground;
I am the talkative ready to talk.
I am the writer's ink,
I will always speak the truth!

Already Fallen

(Bob DiPiero/Pam Tillis)
You come bangling on the screen door,begging me to let you in
All I got to say is, "Honey,where you been!"
This time I think it's you that's surrenderin'
I've already fallen
Yeah,I've already fallen
If you're waiting on me you're backing up
I'm way in over my head in love
It's true,well,I've already fallen for you
Well you look so serious leaning on the Frigidaire
And gee,it's sweet of you to ask me if I really care
But,honey,I'm already picking out the silverware,you see
I've already fallen
Yeah,I've already fallen
If you're waiting on me you're backing up
I'm way in over my head in love
It's true,well,I've already fallen for you
I must have played this scene out a hundred times in my head
That you'd look into my eyes and say you love me like you just did
But you'd better tell me twice,cause I'm still one step ahead,oh...
I've already fallen
Yeah,I've already fallen
If you're waiting on me you're backing up
I'm way in over my head in love
It's true,well,I've already fallen for you

Paperback Writer

(LennonMcCartney)
Paperback writer
Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?
It took me years to write, will you take a look?
It's based on a novel by a man named Lear
And I need a job, so I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
It's the dirty story of a dirty man
And his clinging wife doesn't understand
His son is working for the Daily Mail
It's a steady job but he wants to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
Paperback writer
It's a thousand pages, give or take a few
I'll be writing more in a week or two
I can make it longer if you like the style
I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
If you really like it you can have the rights
It could make a million for you overnight
If you must return it, you can send it here
But I need a break and I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
Paperback writer
Paperback writer, paperback writer
Paperback writer, paperback writer
Paperback writer, paperback writer
Paperback writer, paperback writer (fade out)

Poetic Ambitions

My hearts on a rage, my minds on a blaze
My souls in a cage, with my hands on the page
Writing like Shakespeare, scripting out novels
My work is continued, they effective like commas
Corners of poetry, acknowledge my identity
I just really wish that my work can sell globally

Too many eyes watching, waiting for my failures
Everybody watching like they sitting in the cinemas
When something works out, nobody says anything
But when something goes wrong, everybody says something

Don’t got a fifty pence piece, so my work is unnoticed
They say I need stacks so my work can be published
But what you don’t know is my mind is well nourished,
Money’s not stopping me, I’ll never be discouraged

Hope my heart bleeds, as I script with emotion,
Got arthritis, the way I draft with devotion
As these drops fall my from head like a magical potion
Hope my tears and sweat have a sought of relation

Not To Be Published

With every artist, singer and writer
there are certain things they do
they never wish to see released
at least in their lifetime.
I have to admit I have a file
that reads not to be published
of things I have written.
I feel they are not appropriate,
not that I am ashamed of them.
It is just that
they may be - misunderstood.
No doubt as years go by,
I will probably add more
to that file of things
not to be published.

The Sylvan Grave

Lay me not, when I die, in the place of the dead,
With the dwellings of men round my resting place spread,
But amidst the still forest, unseen and alone,
Where the waters go by with a murmuring tone;
Where the wild bird above me may wave its dark wing,
And the flowers I have loved from my ashes may spring;
Where affection's own blossom may lift its blue eye,
With an eloquent glance from the place where I lie.
Let the rose and the woodbine be there, to enwreath
A bright chaplet of bloom for the pale brow of death;
And the clover's red blossom be seen, that the hum
Of the honey-bee's wing, may for requiem come:
And when those I have loved, ‘midst the changes of earth,
The clouds of its sorrow, its sunshine of mirth,
Shall visit the spot where my cold relics lie,
And gaze on its flowers with a tear-moisten'd eye—
Let them think that my spirit still sometimes is there,
My breath the light zephyr that twines in their hair,
And these flowers, in their fragrance, a memory be,
To tell them thus sweet was their friendship to me.

A Sweet Comparison Between Flowers And Us

Flowers blossom in the sunlight,
As we all need sunlight to blossom
too.

Flowers love a good shower of
cool and refreshing water,
Like we all need a refreshing
shower too.

Flowers are cheerful when music
plays that beautiful song,
In the same way that favorite
song cheers us up.

The breeze of the wind gives us
that breath of life,
Flowers are filled with the
breath of life,
That the breeze provides.

Delicate flowers lose their petals
in need of nourishment,
Just like we lose a strand of hair
that needs to be nourished to grow
back again.

A good night's sleep help us to feel
refreshed,
Flowers need a good night's sleep
to feel refreshed and to blossom
beautifully.

A sweet comparison between flowers
and us,
Knowing how we are very much alike,
It makes a beautiful story.

Blossom for ever

All the buds set not to flowers;
All the flowers set not to seeds;
So are the seeds not to seedlings.
Yet there is a joy in every function,
By which trees get exhilaration.
Still in blossom rests our love.
Yet it reverberates in me by its move
And generates lustre to your skin.
Let the blossom stay, if not be for seeding.

The Night Cometh

Work! for the night is coming;
Work! through the morning hours;
Work! while the dew is sparkling;
Work! 'mid the springing flowers;
Work! while the day grows brighter,
Under the glowing sun;
Work! for the night is coming,--
Night, when man's work is done.

Work! for the night is coming;
Work! through the sunny noon;
Fill the bright hours with labour,
Rest cometh sure and soon.
Give to each flying minute
Something to keep in store;
Work! for the night is coming,--
Night, when man works no more.

Work! for the night is coming;
Under the sunset skies,
While their bright tints are glowing,
Work! for the daylight flies;
Work! till the last beam fadeth,
Fadeth to shine no more;
Work! while the night is darkening,--
Night, when man's work is o'er.

Writer's Block in Prison

WRITER'S BLOCK IN PRISON
22 September 2004

Writer's block is a terrible thing
It stops you dead when you need it least
They say that when the time is right
The words will flow like wine at night.

But here I sit gazing out
at the trees and the grass and the flowers about
and the little red doors of the prison cells
and my thoughts go round and nothing comes out.

Ok, to work, tutor wants words -
An essay no less - but hasn't he heard
that essays are good but not all of us can
write just like that - maybe he can!

Tutor I think wants an essay in prose
But I am finding I cannot do those.
He'll have to accept this epistle I know
'cos that's all I'm doing
and he better accept it
'cos I ain't doing no more
the writer's block is back
and that's that.

Dominatrix On The Axis

Work it on a brother, if it works, oh well, then work it on another; Do your snooky shakey shake, show it to your mother.
Dominatrix on the axis climbs the tower of praxis. Momma said daddy plays the lone bone. Work it on a sister, if it works out for her, then work it on her brother. Might want to
watch yourself or they'll work it on your mother.
If this sounds somethin like s-e-triple x,
sailing off without redemption on the good ship Oedipus.
Look beyond these shores, where you won't have to deal with petty, prudishness no more.
Beyond the sea, you could give it all away for a handling fee.
L'l sister could work it, little brother too. If it works pretty good,
Might work it on you, then work your moves on another. But, pretty please, don't ply your shake 'n' bake magic on my old world grandmother.

She Works Hard For The Money

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

Onetta there in the corner stand
and wonders where she is and
it's strange to her
some people seem to have everything

Nine a.m. on the hour hand
and she's waiting for the bell
and she's looking real pretty
just wait for her clientele

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

Twenty five years have
come and gone
and she' seen a lot of tears
of the ones who come in
they really seem to need her there

It's a sacrifice working day to day
for little money just tips for pay
But it's worth it all
just to hear them say that they care

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She already knows
she's seen her bad times
she already knows
these are the good times

She'll never sell out
she never will
not for a dollar bill
she works hard

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

Perhaps, I Expect Too Much From You....and So Here I Am Feeling So Disgusted

words flowed
like some reunited letters lately

the concepts come out
from the mind

still like words, syllables conjoining
there are no images still

i wait, i am waiting, i keep on waiting
like a commuter of a train

perhaps i have expected too much from
you
something graphic
like sun rising from a hill
in the full majesty of its
inborn light

after i have read
everything that you have written for years
following each like
the running ticking seconds
of the hour

i feel so disgusted

stalks without flowers
ladies stuffed like mummies

mountains bald deprived of the
green and yellows

there is a world without
sky and sun and sea and dolphins

a patch of light without
a hue

i want to see those prisms
refractions

interactions of colors inside
the depths of
our souls

perhaps i have expected too much from you
and so i am disgusted

give me your world
i will scatter it with stars tonight.

Work That Body

Drive my car wear my jewels
Make me feel like the king of fools.

Work that body
Work that body
Try not to hurt nobody

David loved Bathsheba, Samson loved Delilah
I love you and your name is Twyla.

Work that body
Work that body
Try not to hurt nobody

Life without love is empty and cruel
Without God's grace I remain a fool.

Work that body
Work that body
Try not to hurt nobody

After death I pray to go to Heaven
For I've been saved since I was eleven.

Work that body
Work that body
Try not to hurt nobody

Life can be short, life can be long
God sees all we do right or wrong.

Work that body
Work that body
Try not to hurt nobody
