Most people seek after what they do not possess and are enslaved by the very things they want to acquire.

All Covet
You know
I know
all covet
all lost.
I am here
you are here
to acquire
and acquire
not knowing
what to acquire
how to acquire.

Safety is peace
Acquire skill. Acquire knowledge.
You are not robbed.
Acquire wealth. Acquire power.
You are robbed.
Peace comes where safety rules.

To You, Africa
You are a beautiful terra firma
With beautiful people
Rich in history
Rich in prosperity
You are a land of life hard lived
Through droughts and famines
Your people had a lot to give
Your villages were of close community
Unlike that of civilization
You were the best example
that the world could have seen
Then the toubob began to arrive
And your people were taken
With no regard for your childrens lives
I know you are still shaken
Taken from the land they loved
Shoving their beloved Earth into their mouth
For one last taste of you, Africa
Your people have been stolen
Your people have been killed
Your generations have been lost
Your families have been torn apart
Your people have been enslaved
Your women have been raped
Your people have long suffered
Your people have lived through misery
Stolen for what purpose
Other than to be a serf
Some say it could have been worse
But we know it was the worst
Africa, your people are great
Your people are strong
Your people survived through it all
Your people still sung their songs
After 1865 they were freed
Yet still they were enslaved it seemed
Today there are still places that ban your people
Brought here unwillingly, to this 'land of the free'
Your people are who can change this nation
Your people are here for that reason
All hope is not lost
We will succeed regardless of the cost
This is to you, Africa

No one is more enslaved than a slave who doesn't think they're enslaved.

A Devalued Piece of Paper
There are those who view talents and gifts,
Others may be blessed with...
As a means for them to seek attachment,
To a dollar sign.
If falling leaves were declared to have monetary value,
There would be people killing themselves to rake them...
From wherever they fell in people's yards.
Or be seen chasing them as they blew in the wind.
A mindset attached to money like that,
Is as happy as a lobster caught and thrown in boiling water.
What they have or have not represents their self worth.
And it is sad for anyone to feel that enslaved,
By a devalued piece of paper.
Never to enable one to afford a peace of mind.

In order to acquire a growing and lasting respect in society, it is a good thing, if you possess great talent, to give, early in your youth, a very hard kick to the right shin of the society that you love. After that, be a snob.

Mortal Minds
it is these things, the most simple,
honest, and raw... which we have the
most trouble with.
these are the treasures we seek for...
they hold the wisdom we cannot define!
for they contain the eternal, which we
strive for with mortal minds... the
secret of the wind, which we cannot
hold in our hands, or possess!

Another Hit For That Fix
When did the living of life,
Become the sole purpose...
To acquire things?
With a desiring that hypnotizes.
When was it that a stress accepted,
To impress others...
Leave such a disappointing affect,
That left our attachments addressed...
More valued than human beings neglected?
And who was it that decided what we possessed,
Would be taxed to never own?
To deluded ourselves and others shown.
As we condone those brave who fought our wars,
On foreign shores...
To needlessly sit hungry and homeless,
Upon city streets and curbs.
As if deserving of it to ease our nerves.
What ignorance qualified itself like this?
To become for us prioritized and not resist.
And to demand with expectations,
A picking of our own choice of entitlements.
With a decision to place insanity,
At the top of our wish list to ensure its existence.
When did the living of life,
Become the sole purpose...
To acquire things?
With a desiring.
That leaves us hypocrites hypnotized.
To feel we have rights to judge and criticize.
And today with a worship of it we can not rid.
Like addicts we pray to get another 'hit' for that 'fix'...
To satisfy that high we get.
With a numbness prescribed and legally authorized,
As we are fed our dysfunctional way of life is envied...
By those we are taught seek to take away our greatness.
And that's why they do their best to fight against us,
As we select which ones are our enemies living on their land.

The wish to acquire more is admittedly a very natural and common thing; and when men succeed in this they are always praised rather than condemned. But when they lack the ability to do so and yet want to acquire more at all costs, they deserve condemnation for their mistakes.

The Best Of Your Imperfections
You have let the 'hue' of things,
Bedazzle your quest...
To suppress with resentment,
Those who possess color.
And you consciously continue,
To refuse to admit...
Your wish to be like the others,
Who are born with this naturalness.
Only you come into view,
To introduce conflict.
Only you can not permit,
To leave alone what exists.
You have let the 'hue' of things,
Bedazzle your quest...
To suppress with resentment,
Those who possess color.
And it's only you who insists,
That the absence of hue...
Entitles you to do as you wish,
Until destruction has dissected...
All that does not reflect,
The best of your imperfections.
So noticeable are your blemishes,
And weaknesses you refuse to accept.
So noticeable too,
Your choice to choose to allow as you do...
A defying what God has created.
To have praise bestowed just upon yourself.
You have let the 'hue' of things,
Bedazzle your quest...
To suppress with resentment,
Those who possess color.
And your wickedness done,
Will come to undo...
Your attempts to not be 'hue-man-like',
With beliefs God has your back.
And blesses your pursuits.

Only those who have the patience to do simple things perfectly ever acquire the skill to do difficult things easily.
I Tried
I tried so hard,
I run,
I hide,
My weakness doesn't show,
Nor does my tear fall,
When things crumble,
I fall,
I rise up against the things I believe in,
I rise for my rights,
People shun me,
People yell at me,
I tried over and over again,
I tried to run,
No where to hide,
I tried to seek love,
But end up with heartaches,
I tried for you,
I tried for me,
In the end we were no match,
I am sorry the way things ended,
I am sorry for all the things I have said and done.
I am sorry.

Circumspection
Many things i see concern me about people
I see people do stupid things
I see people do things to help the world
I see people do many things that someday they will not be proud of
Concerns come from the stupid things i see people do
If there a thousands of people doing things that i see
The world is a lot worse than what i thought
But other things i see cause me to see the good side of things
People that i see do acts of kindness make me see the world in other ways
But from what i see some people do i am filled with concern.
