A secret in the Oxford sense: you may tell it to only one person at a time.

Oxford Town
Oxford town, oxford town
Evrybodys got their heads bowed down
The sun dont shine above the ground
Aint a-goin down to oxford town
He went down to oxford town
Guns and clubs followed him down
All because his face was brown
Better get away from oxford town
Oxford town around the bend
He come in to the door, he couldnt get in
All because of the color of his skin
What do you think about that, my frien?
Me and my gal, my gals son
We got met with a tear gas bomb
I dont even know why we come
Goin back where we come from
Oxford town in the afternoon
Evrybody singin a sorrowful tune
Two men died neath the mississippi moon
Somebody better investigate soon
Oxford town, oxford town
Evrybodys got their heads bowed down
The sun dont shine above the ground
Aint a-goin down to oxford town

The Fly
It's no secret that the stars are falling from the sky
It's no secret that our world is in darkness tonight
They say the sun is sometimes eclipsed by a moon}
Y' know I don't see you when she walks in the room
It's no secret that a friend is someone who lets you help
It's no secret that a liar won't believe anyone else
They say a secret is something you tell another person
So I'm telling you... child
Low Voice:
A man will beg
A man will craw
On the sheer face of love
Like a fly on a wall
It's no secret at all
It's no secret that a conscience can sometimes be a pest
It's no secret ambition bites the nails of success
Every artist is a cannibal

I Have Not Been To Oxford Town
Baby grace is the victim
She was 14 years of age
And the wheels are turning, turning
For the finger points at me
Alls well
But I have not been to oxford town
Alls well
But I have not been to oxford town
Toll the bell
Pay the private eye
Alls well
20th century dies
And the prison priests are decent
My attorney seems sincere
I fear my days are numbered
Lord get me out of here
Alls well
But I have not been to oxford town
Alls well
But I have not been to oxford town
Toll the bell
Pay the private eye
Alls well
20th century dies
This is your shadow on my wall
This is my flesh and blood
This is what I couldve been
And the wheels are turning and turning
As the 20th century dies
If I had not ripped the fabric
If time had not stood still
If I had not met ramona
If Id only paid my bill
Alls well
But I have not been to oxford town
Alls well
But I have not been to oxford town
Toll the bell
Pay the private eye
Alls well
20th century dies
And the wheels are turning and turning
As the 20th century dies
This is my bunk with two sheets
This is my food though foul
This is what I could have been
Toll the bell
Pay the private eye
Alls well
20th century dies

Little person in the well
Little person in the well
Why are you still here
Is life so hard to look at
You must linger here
Must you be out of sight
From something with no eyes
Little person in the well
Why are you still here
Is life so hard to look upon
That you must linger here
Little person in the shadows
Why are you sitting here
Is life so hard to look upon
That you must hide in the shadows
Must you hide so nothing can find you
When nothing's searching
Little person in the shadows
Why are you sitting here
Is life so hard to look upon
That you must hide in the shadows
Little person running on
Why don't you ever stop
Is life so hard to look upon
That you must keep running from it
You run from every thing
When nobody's chasing you
Little person running on
Why don't you ever stop
Is life so hard to look upon
That you must keep running from it
The little person in the well
Has a secret to share
The little person hiding in the dark
Has a secret to be told
The little person always running
Has a secret thats never been heard
The little people that you hear of
Are just like me

By the time you tell a secret to a mad person then a normal person you cannot see.
I broke down while at Oxford, was rejected by a record number of medical tribunals during the War, and finally got permission to leave Oxford and do civilian work till the War ended.

Finding A Silent Place
he says he sees her everyday
in the internet
he still works in oxford
and wants to see her
in person
he is here and wanting to
find a silent place to talk
to her
ok there is none

Oxford is Oxford: not a mere receptacle for youth, like Cambridge. Perhaps it wants its inmates to love it rather than to love one another.

The word mother
The word mother,
Has a secret power,
Whenever I'm in danger,
You'll be there.
The word that gives me power,
The word that protects me,
The word that accompanys me,
Is you, my mother.
The person that encourages me,
The person that gives me confidence,
The person that gives me motivation,
Is you again, my mother.
The person that gave birth to me,
The person that cares for me,
The person that feed me,
The person that teaches me,
It's you, my mother
Happy mothers day!

A Reflection
At one time I was blind
Blinded by the person in the mirror
The person in the mirror
Was someone I didn't like
A person that was full of anger
Anger which know one could stop
A person who was dishonest
A person who lied to themselves
A person who lied, cheated and stole
This person scared me
Yet the reflection I seen
Was me
How could this be me?
I didn't like this person I was looking at
That person couldn't of been me
Yet it was time to face the facts
This was me
This is who I'am
Now I know I had to change
If I didn't like this person
Then who would like this person?

Robert Fleming Gourley
There came to Oxford Robert Gourley,
In his old ago his health was poorly ;
He was a relic of the past,
In his dotage sinking fast,
Yet he was erect and tall,
Like noble ruined castle wall.
In early times they did him impeach
For demanding right of speech,
Now Oxford he wished to represent
In Canadian Parliament ;
But him the riding did not honor,
But elected Doctor Connor.

No Secret Friend
I have a secret friend
No it's not what you think
My friend's not a secret
Nor is the secrets he keeps
You see he keeps his heart
On the table with me
But the rest of the world
It's secrets they see
My no secret friend
wears a joker's mask
But I can see the truth
the real, the past
My no secret friend says
his intentions are true
My no secret friend says
he has feelings for me
Does my no secret friend
have secret desires
Time will tell but till then
this moment is ours

Secret Journey
Upon a secret journey
I met a holy man
His blindness was his wisdom
Im such a lonely man
And as the world was turning
It rolled itself in pain
This does not seem to touch you
He pointed to the rain
You will see light in the darkness
You will make some sense of this
And when youve made your secret journey
You will find the love you miss
And on the days that followed
I listened to his words
I strained to understand him
I chased his thoughts like birds
You will see light in the darkness
You will make some sense of this
And when youve made your secret journey
You will find the love you miss
You will see light in the darkness
You will make some sense of this
You will see joy in this sadness
You will find this love you miss
And when youve made your secret journey
You will be a holy man

To Amuse At The Expense Of Wasted Time
Would these be betting odds,
That an asking of someone...
Who has done something in their life,
For more than 'sixty years'.
And approached to be questioned,
What they have been doing...
Since they were last seen ten years ago?
And that question has been asked,
By that same person rerpeatedly.
And the response is known.
What would be the likely odds,
That the person asked the question...
Would 'not' be doing,
What has become an obvious love...
For what that person does.
Should the one asking that same question,
Take a gamble and ask another question...
That would initiate a conversation,
Expressing a real interest?
And not just say the same thing to re-tread.
I maybe wrong about this,
But...
Leaving the person feeling a sense of being appreciated,
Would probably reveal a human being existing.
Instead of a novelty to amuse at the expense of wasted time.

Dirty Little Secret
Let me know that I've done wrong
When I've known this all along
I go around a time or two
Just to waste my time with you
Tell me all that you've thrown away
Find out games you don't wanna play
You are the only one that needs to know
I'll keep you my dirty little secret
(Dirty little secret)
Don't tell anyone or you'll be just another regret
(Just another regret, hope that you can keep it)
My dirty little secret
Who has to know
When we live such fragile lives
It's the best way we survive
I go around a time or two
Just to waste my time with you
Tell me all that you've thrown away
Find out games you don't wanna play
You are the only one that needs to know
I'll keep you my dirty little secret
(Dirty little secret)
Don't tell anyone or you'll be just another regret
(Just another regret, hope that you can keep it)
My dirty little secret
Who has to know
The way she feels inside (inside)
Those thoughts I can't deny (deny)
These sleeping dogs won't lie (won't lie)
And now I try to lie
It's eating me apart
Trace this life out
I'll keep you my dirty little secret
(Dirty little secret)
Don't tell anyone or you'll be just another regret
(Just another regret)
I'll keep you my dirty little secret
(Dirty little secret)
Don't tell anyone or you'll be just another regret
(Just another regret, hope that you can keep it)
My dirty little secret
Dirty little secret

A secret remains a secret only when one person knows it.
Your Laugh
You laughed loud and free.
Such a sound was joy in the past.
Distant past.
Now it brings sadness.
For in that one brief moment,
in that one brief sound,
you are the person I loved once.
You are the person I once knew.
And I miss that person.

For My New Friend
I read a poem the other day,
of how we should look at the inner person.
Not at the way, that person looks or dresses,
nor the texture and colour of their skin,
but the real person that lies within.
I made a new friend last week by doing exactly that.
So many people had told me
that he was arrogant and abusive,
that he expected you
to do everything for him.
The person they were talking about is a paraplegic.
He lives his days in a wheelchair,
has trouble opening doors
and doing the up the laces in his shoes.
So yes, he needs help now and then.
I was helping him navigate
through several sets of doors.
We struck up a conversation,
and as we talked I found
what none of the others had seen.
He wasn’t arrogant and abusive,
but really very polite.
He had lovely sense of humour
and lovely smile.
I could immediately sense
there was a kind heart within.
As we talked I noticed something else too,
this poor lad had a lonely side as well.
By the time we reached the final door,
which I opened, for him,
I felt a little taller.
I had gained a new friend.
We said we would talk again
and left it at that.
Today when I saw him and said “Hello.”
A large smile came across his face,
and it set everything aglow.
