I was maybe only 13 or 14 when I started to play junior tournaments.

I don't follow other players or the tournaments they play. I have my own schedule and do my own thing. I never really think, 'Oh, I want to be or play like so-and-so.' I just like being myself.

Generally the younger generation are not hard working. They will have to put in more effort to achieve results in tournaments. most of them can perform well but they cannot deliver when they play abroad.

When I was a junior, boys were allowed to come visit me at the house. We could sit on the porch until about 8 o'clock at night; that's when it started getting dark. That was it.

Trade You Lay
Don't get me started.
No don't get me started.
Don't get me started,
Don't!
You tell me for you I am the one,
But if I was younger...
I'd be fun.
But don't get me started.
Don't.
You want a poppa and a friend.
To toy around in your play pen.
Don't get me started.
Don't get me started,
Don't get me started,
Don't!
Because...
I refuse to be,
A piece of trade you lay.
I'm not that way.
No I...
Refuse to be,
Treated like a piece of meat!
Not today.
Don't get me started.
Don't get me started,
Don't get me started,
Don't!
Don't get me started.
Don't get me started,
Don't get me started,
Don't!
I...
Refuse to be,
Treated like a piece of meat.
Or a trade you lay.
Trade you lay.
Trade you lay.

In Georgia it's a little different because of the East Cobb program. It's such a strong program that we see a lot of kids that come through here on a lot of different teams from across the country that come here to play in tournaments.
If money titles meant anything, I'd play more tournaments. The only thing that means a lot to me is winning. If I have more wins than anybody else and win more majors than anybody else in the same year, then it's been a good year.

The kids wait for it to be organized. They want to go play all of these tournaments, for a little practice time. I learned my skills by dropping the puck just with the kids. I think that's missing today.
Bad Boy
A bad little kid moved into my neighborhood
He won't do nothing right just sitting down and looks so good
He don't want to go to school and learn to read and write
Just sits around the house and plays the rock and roll music all night
Well, he put some tacks on teachers chair
Puts some gum in little girl's hair
Hey, junior, behave yourself
Buys every rock and roll book on the magazine stand
Every dime that he get is lost to the jukebox man
Well he worries his teacher till at night she's ready to poop
From rocking and a-rolling spinning in a hula hoop
Well this rock and roll has got to stop
Junior's head is hard as rock
Now, junior, behave yourself
Going tell your mama you better do what she said
Get to the barber shop and get that hair cut off your head
Threw the canary and you fed it to the neighbors cat
You gave the cocker spaniel a bath in mother's laundramat
Well, mama's head has got to stop
Junior's head is hard as rock
Now, junior, behave yourself

Playing Hurt
Personally I never had
To play that hard
Flag football
Did not require
Taping of wrists ankles ribs
Mouth-pieces knee braces
Post game ice packs
Help getting up
And out of bed
The next morning
Shake it off
Back to practice
Our daughter played basketball
First co-ed Boys/Girls club then
Through her second year
At the local junior college
Class scheduling wasn't easy
Away games post season play-offs
San Francisco Sacramento
Berkeley Modesto
Not easy to get in the classes
Needed for her major
Add twenty-two hours a week
As a grocery store clerk
Now you got
A tough schedule
Playing hurt
No big deal
So she told me
Taped up
Mouth piece in
Ready to play
Now married
Buying their first home
Teaching sixth graders
Still a tough schedule
I remember a phone call
From her from Sac State
A month into
Her junior year
Except for intermurals
She decided not to play
To fit in the classes she needed
Laughing she admitted
'Dad, I never realized
How good it would feel
To wake up without
Something hurting.'

Why you always got to be so cool
And why I always got to play your fool
You dont really know what lifes about
Oh no
So baby come and let your feelings out
Say you really want me
Dont keep it to yourself
Say you really need me
Just me and no one else
Say you really love me
Ooh let me know its true
Say you really want me
The way that I want you
(love me)
(cos you dont really love me)

The time is over now for playing those games
Lets take it all the way

Say you really love me

When I was in school, I was very involved with a lot of things. I was very very active. I couldn't say that I wasn't popular. I was a cheerleader when I was in junior high. I didn't make it in high school so I started a dance line.

The Junior God
The Junior God looked from his place
In the conning towers of heaven,
And he saw the world through the span of space
Like a giant golf-ball driven.
And because he was bored, as some gods are,
With high celestial mirth,
He clutched the reins of a shooting star,
And he steered it down to earth.
The Junior God, 'mid leaf and bud,
Passed on with a weary air,
Till lo! he came to a pool of mud,
And some hogs were rolling there.
Then in he plunged with gleeful cries,
And down he lay supine;
For they had no mud in paradise,
And they likewise had no swine.
The Junior God forgot himself;
He squelched mud through his toes;
With the careless joy of a wanton boy
His reckless laughter rose.
Till, tired at last, in a brook close by,
He washed off every stain;
Then softly up to the radiant sky
He rose, a god again.
The Junior God now heads the roll
In the list of heaven's peers;
He sits in the House of High Control,
And he regulates the spheres.
Yet does he wonder, do you suppose,
If, even in gods divine,
The best and wisest may not be those
Who have wallowed awhile with the swine?

Wings Of Love
I was living in a daydream
Letting time a days my mind
I didnt know what I was missing
Till you came into my life
When I saw you pretty girl
Felt as going inside
When I kissed you pretty girl
Felt you lighted up my mind
Boy Im crying
Im on the wings of love
And I know that
It comes from junior love
All in hands we walk together
Nothings gonna make us fast
But our love wil lives forever
If the sun thats in our heart
Making love is also sweet
Were lost in each others eyes
And I bought infinity
That the one turnes to life
Boy Im flying
Im on the wings of love
And I know that
It comes from junior love
Now Im living in a lovedream
Time and days are passing by
Now I realy know what love is
I cant help smiling all the time
When youre with me pretty girl
I feel your warmth by my side
When you touch me pretty girl
Brings that joy often high
Boy Im flying
Im on the wings of love
And I know that
It comes from junior love
(and I know that
It comes from junior love)
