The Junior God
The Junior God looked from his place
In the conning towers of heaven,
And he saw the world through the span of space
Like a giant golf-ball driven.
And because he was bored, as some gods are,
With high celestial mirth,
He clutched the reins of a shooting star,
And he steered it down to earth.
The Junior God, 'mid leaf and bud,
Passed on with a weary air,
Till lo! he came to a pool of mud,
And some hogs were rolling there.
Then in he plunged with gleeful cries,
And down he lay supine;
For they had no mud in paradise,
And they likewise had no swine.
The Junior God forgot himself;
He squelched mud through his toes;
With the careless joy of a wanton boy
His reckless laughter rose.
Till, tired at last, in a brook close by,
He washed off every stain;
Then softly up to the radiant sky
He rose, a god again.
The Junior God now heads the roll
In the list of heaven's peers;
He sits in the House of High Control,
And he regulates the spheres.
Yet does he wonder, do you suppose,
If, even in gods divine,
The best and wisest may not be those
Who have wallowed awhile with the swine?

Bad Boy
A bad little kid moved into my neighborhood
He won't do nothing right just sitting down and looks so good
He don't want to go to school and learn to read and write
Just sits around the house and plays the rock and roll music all night
Well, he put some tacks on teachers chair
Puts some gum in little girl's hair
Hey, junior, behave yourself
Buys every rock and roll book on the magazine stand
Every dime that he get is lost to the jukebox man
Well he worries his teacher till at night she's ready to poop
From rocking and a-rolling spinning in a hula hoop
Well this rock and roll has got to stop
Junior's head is hard as rock
Now, junior, behave yourself
Going tell your mama you better do what she said
Get to the barber shop and get that hair cut off your head
Threw the canary and you fed it to the neighbors cat
You gave the cocker spaniel a bath in mother's laundramat
Well, mama's head has got to stop
Junior's head is hard as rock
Now, junior, behave yourself

Ace In The Hole
Some people say Jesus that's the ace in the hole
But I never met the man so l don't really know
Maybe some Christmas if I'm sick and alone
He will look up my number
Call me on the phone and say :
Hey, boy, where you been so long
Don't you know me
I'm your ace in the hole
Two hundred dollars, that's my ace in the hole
When I'm down, dirty and desperate
That's my emergency bank roll (I got . . .)
Two hundred dollars, that's the price on the street
If you wanna get some quality
That's the price you got to meet (and the man says...)
Hey, Junior, where you been so long
Don't you know me
I'm your ace in the hole
(talk about ace in the hole)
Once I was crazy and my ace in the hole
Was that I knew that I was crazy
So I never lost my self-control
I just walk in the middle of the road
I sleep in the middle of the bed
I stop in the middle of a sentence
And the voice in the middle of my head said
Hey, Junior, where you been so long
Don't you know me
I'm your ace in the hole (oh yeah)
Ace in the hole
Lean on me
Don't you know me
I'm your guarantee
Riding on this rolling bus
Beneath a stormy sky
With a slow moon rising
And the smokestacks driving by
In the hour when the heart is weakest
And the memory is strong
When time has stopped
But the bus just rolls along
Roll on, roll on
Roll on, roll on
Roll on, roll on
Some people say music that's their ace in the hole
Just your ordinary rhythm and blues
Your basic rock and roll
You can sit on the top of the beat
You can lean on the side of the beat
You can hang from the bottom of the beat
But you got to admit that the music is sweet
Where you been so long
Don't you know me l m your ace in the hole (oh yeah)
Ace in the hole
Lean on me
Don't you know me
I'm your guarantee
Some people say music that's their ace in the hole
Just your ordinary rhythm and blues
Your basic rock and roll
You can sit on the top of the beat
You can lean on the side of the beat
You can hang from the bottom of the beat
But you gotta admit that the music is sweet
Hey, Junior, I'm your ace in the hole
Hey, Junior, I'm your ace in the hole
Hey, Junior, I'm your ace in the hole
Hey, Junior, I'm your ace in the hole

Wings Of Love
I was living in a daydream
Letting time a days my mind
I didnt know what I was missing
Till you came into my life
When I saw you pretty girl
Felt as going inside
When I kissed you pretty girl
Felt you lighted up my mind
Boy Im crying
Im on the wings of love
And I know that
It comes from junior love
All in hands we walk together
Nothings gonna make us fast
But our love wil lives forever
If the sun thats in our heart
Making love is also sweet
Were lost in each others eyes
And I bought infinity
That the one turnes to life
Boy Im flying
Im on the wings of love
And I know that
It comes from junior love
Now Im living in a lovedream
Time and days are passing by
Now I realy know what love is
I cant help smiling all the time
When youre with me pretty girl
I feel your warmth by my side
When you touch me pretty girl
Brings that joy often high
Boy Im flying
Im on the wings of love
And I know that
It comes from junior love
(and I know that
It comes from junior love)

The Griefs of Ancient Gosh
I happened in Gosh on an ancient day,
In the land of Glugs far, far away
Where the skies are green and the grass is pink
And the citizens rarely troubl'd to think.
Each had a vote; they were proud of that;
But they left all else to the Bureaucrat.
Still, of course, such folly never could be
In a civilised land this year A.D.
A junior clerk in Department A
Sent a requisition in one day
For a mousetrap to Department B.
This came to the ears of Department C,
Whose head said, 'Just a moment please.
You control the traps, but we the cheese.'
Then Department D chipped in in a trice
And cried, 'Checkmate! We control the mice.'
Then Departments E, F, G, H, I
Became involved, and the talk ran high,
Till the Livestock Branch got dragged in, too,
And the Vermin Board, and I don't know who
Besides, till the mousetrap matter grew
From a mild dispute 'mid a trifling few
To a Public Question so immense
That a tax was levied to meet expense.
Well, time rolled on, as it ever has rolled
And the junior clerk, now bald and old,
Received a pink form one fine day
Which said, 'One trap, mouse. Passed O.K.'
But he answered, this impatient chap,
Grown peevish, too, 'Keep your blinkin' trap!
For a trap I made from an old jam tin
Long since; and I caught my mouse therein.'
So an issue rose of a different sort,
And they sued the clerk in the State High Court
Which sat so long and talked such bosh
That a fierce Dictator loomed in Gosh;
And he took one long, deep, shuddering breath
And condemned that junior clerk to death
And then, when they sought the man, they found
He had been some twelve years underground.
Such is the tale. But, understand
It happened in Gosh - a backward land
Inhabited then by a race called Glugs,
Free-born, with a vote, but mostly mugs
For, of course, such nonsense never could be
In a modern, model Democracy
Like ours. Things never could happen so.
Absurd!... Or could they? ...Oh, I don't know.

Junior
They call me junior
I live here on the street
I earn two hundred dollars a week
Id like to say
Hey, thanks a lot
I know Im missin something
But I dont know what it is
That I dont got
I sit here watchin
The people down below
I try to imagine
The places they may go
I dont know
I stay home a lot
I know Im missin something
But I dont know what it is
That I dont got
Chorus:
I see the world through the tv guide
What a safe place for me to run
What a small little man I am
Im afraid of everything
From golden rules to airplanes
What a small little man I am
They call me junior
Im caught up in this hell
Sometimes I feel better
But I never do feel well.
Jesus must have one hell of a plan for me
I know Im missin something
But I dont know what it is
That I dont got
And if I have anything to say
About judgement day
Therell be a crown in heaven
For those who live this way
Anyway
You know exactly who you are
Chorus:
I see the world through the tv guide
What a safe place for me to run
What a small little man I am
Im afraid of everything
From the golden rule to airplanes
What a small little man I am
They call me junior
I live here on the street
I earn two hundred dollars a week
Id like to say
Hey man, thanks a lot
My name is junior
Chorus:
I see the world through the tv guide
What a safe place for me to run
What a small little man I am
Im afraid of everything
From the golden rule to airplanes
What a small little man I am

Pork Soda
Now listen up you know ya come home from working that nine to five and
Lay yourself down on burgundy couch, you know, it never really was
Burgundy. it was red, and you painted with the goddamn sprinkler and
Now you have bits and pieces of burgundy stuck to your but every time
You get off of it. you never tell your family, you never tell your
Family because, you know, ol junior, hes got no brains, and what can
You do? what can you do? (and old junior, you know, got a little crazy
With that p.b.j. that one day...? ? )
Chorus
Grab yourself a can of pork soda
Youll be feeling just fine
Aint nothin quite like sittin round the house
Swillin down them cans of swine
Ha ha ha! yes, dads an idiot alright!
Well, alright, Im really starting to worry about you. you had to have
That two-car garage with the large driveway so you could park that
Goddamn boat in it. if it wasnt for the boat (blah blah blah)
Chorus
I like kansas wine...
Well, maybe its something simpler, like your team lost or your
Girlfriend used to be a guy, you know, I dont know. I mean...(blah

Damon vs. Pythias
Two better friends you wouldn't pass
Throughout a summer's day,
Than DAMON and his PYTHIAS, -
Two merchant princes they.
At school together they contrived
All sorts of boyish larks;
And, later on, together thrived
As merry merchants' clerks.
And then, when many years had flown,
They rose together till
They bought a business of their own -
And they conduct it still.
They loved each other all their lives,
Dissent they never knew,
And, stranger still, their very wives
Were rather friendly too.
Perhaps you think, to serve my ends,
These statements I refute,
When I admit that these dear friends
Were parties to a suit?
But 'twas a friendly action, for
Good PYTHIAS, as you see,
Fought merely as executor,
And DAMON as trustee.
They laughed to think, as through the throng
Of suitors sad they passed,
That they, who'd lived and loved so long,
Should go to law at last.
The junior briefs they kindly let
Two sucking counsel hold;
These learned persons never yet
Had fingered suitors' gold.
But though the happy suitors two
Were friendly as could be,
Not so the junior counsel who
Were earning maiden fee.
They too, till then, were friends. At school
They'd done each other's sums,
And under Oxford's gentle rule
Had been the closest chums.
But now they met with scowl and grin
In every public place,
And often snapped their fingers in
Each other's learned face.
It almost ended in a fight
When they on path or stair
Met face to face. They made it quite
A personal affair.
And when at length the case was called
(It came on rather late),
Spectators really were appalled
To see their deadly hate.
One junior rose - with eyeballs tense,
And swollen frontal veins:
To all his powers of eloquence
He gave the fullest reins.
His argument was novel - for
A verdict he relied
On blackening the junior
Upon the other side.
"Oh," said the Judge, in robe and fur,
"The matter in dispute
To arbitration pray refer -
This is a friendly suit."
And PYTHIAS, in merry mood,
Digged DAMON in the side;
And DAMON, tickled with the feud,
With other digs replied.
But oh! those deadly counsel twain,
Who were such friends before,
Were never reconciled again -
They quarrelled more and more.
At length it happened that they met
On Alpine heights one day,
And thus they paid each one his debt,
Their fury had its way -
They seized each other in a trice,
With scorn and hatred filled,
And, falling from a precipice,
They, both of them, were killed.

Blissful Moments
The day I was born
It was on a dawn
I brought zest
As mom's best
Father was happy too
As junior I'm number two
Both my parents are proud
of me even we're now a crowd
Upon graduation in college
Again it was a momentous pledge
As I will be venturing into the future
On my own with confident and secure
When I got married in time
Was another blissful rhyme
For I got a wife whom I love
A true gift form heaven above
Then another junior was christened
Bears my father's proud surname
It was again time of blissful rally
Ever united as one whole family

Poem about Poetry - Poetry is that Girl at the Corner
poetry is that
schoolgirl
junior high
you have
known for
three years
but never talk to
she is always
at the corner
of everywhere
by herself
living out
the world
of her own
harbouring
a dream
beautiful as
rainbow
poetry is
that junior
school girl
at the corner
of your class
you never talk to
but have always
wanted to
poetry is
that girl
by herself
harbouring
a world too
entrancing for
her to extricate
herself from
poetry is
that gentle girl
at a little corner
who has an
apple garden
to be explored
and savoured
but would rather
keep quiet about it
poetry is that boy
who makes the first
move to lift the first
page of her life
to give her life
another dimension
and lets his mind
be showered
with all her graces

A Little Litany
When God turned back eternity and was young,
Ancient of Days, grown little for your mirth
(As under the low arch the land is bright)
Peered through you, gate of heaven--and saw the earth.
Or shutting out his shining skies awhile
Built you about him for a house of gold
To see in pictured walls his storied world
Return upon him as a tale is told.
Or found his mirror there; the only glass
That would not break with that unbearable light
Till in a corner of the high dark house
God looked on God, as ghosts meet in the night.
Star of his morning; that unfallen star
In that strange starry overturn of space
When earth and sky changed places for an hour
And heaven looked upwards in a human face.
Or young on your strong knees and lifted up
Wisdom cried out, whose voice is in the street,
And more than twilight of twiformed cherubim
Made of his throne indeed a mercy-seat.
Or risen from play at your pale raiment's hem
God, grown adventurous from all time's repose,
Or your tall body climed the ivory tower
And kissed upon your mouth the mystic rose.

Theres A Small Hotel
Id like to get away, junior
Somewhere alone with you
It could be oh, so gay, junior
You need a laugh
Or two
A certain place I know, frankie
Where funny people can have fun
Thats where the two will go,
Darling
Before you can count up
One, two, three. for ...
Theres a small hotel
With a wishing well
I
Wish that we were there together
Theres a bridal suite
One room bright and neat
Complete for us to
Share together
Looking through the window
You can see a distant steeple
Not a sign of people -- who
Wants people?
When the steeple bell says,
Good night, sleep well,
Well thank the small hotel
Together
Well creep into our little shell
And we will thank the small hotel together

James Crawford-King Junior
James Crawford-King junior esquire
The man with a price on his head,
Was a lone desperado from Texas
And was wanted, living or dead.
A runner of guns and a killer
A thief, and a gambler of note;
A mean looking dude in his leathers,
With a stetson tied under his throat.
Sherrif Cody had sworn he would find him
For the innocent lives that he took;
This Crawford-King junior esquire
Who had slung both his guns and his hook.
Away o'er the dry golden prairies
He'd gone, so the sheriff was told;
So he headed that way with his posse,
But the trail was now hopelessly cold.
As cold as the night that descended
On Cody, his horse and his men;
But justice called loudly for vengeance
So at daybreak they rode out again.
Now El -Paso was quietly sitting
In the warm morning glow of the sun;
Knowing nothing of Crawford-King junior
Or the terrible deeds he had done.
There the lone desperado lay sleeping
With his colt 45 by his side;
Back in Texas the wives of his victims
Were weeping for those who had died.
Sheriff Cody burst into the bedroom
Just as Jimmy was lifting his head;
And the lead from the lawman's revolver
Made sure that King junior was dead.
Then the blue acrid smoke slowly lifted
To find things not quite what they seem:
I'd dropped off the lousy top bunk-bed,
And James Crawford-King junior? ...a dream!
