The soul... may have many symbols with which it reaches toward God.

Symbolic

I love symbols,
As much as the nations.
The lords of travel complain
Of the symbols on the highways,
But I do not.
I am alone with the night and city,
While the forgetting is done.
Symbols of criminals light up,
Fully transported, of the love.
Feet are sore as they travel
On the journey that some forgive,
Some forget.

Total Consumption

We rely on symbols—caricatures
Designed for mass-seduction and allure.
We blindly believe in our avatars,
Surmising possibilities that are
Perversions of our pragmatic nature.

The frozen imagery literature
Provides us exists only to obscure
Our acknowledgement—to drift us afar.
We rely on symbols.

Because society cannot secure
The spectacles of our still immature
Thoughts, we embellish these facets that mar
Enjoyment with what could exceed the stars—
A compensation for corporature.
We rely on symbols.

Poem about Poetry - what is not poetry

writing lines
not like a child
writing lines
robotlike
hitting at keys
rather than own heart
writing lines
throwing words
which are yet
our friends
words picked
from thesaurus
dictionaries
for word's sake
an alley of prostitutes
we treat as our wives
godless
writing as if
the world
possesses
no soul and
god, the real poet
who spares symbols
for his creation
trees, lightning,
thunder
for poets
to colour their world
to see the other side
of the world
how the trees, lightning
thunder
are a part of men
themselves
described,
the trees - spring of youth
lightning - rage
thunder - warning
the warming effect
god's verse to men's uncaring verse
misinterpretation of his symbols
god the leading poet
the world a repository of symbols
for his masterpiece
a masterpiece
we could only admire
the real poet leaves us
something to ponder about
and to add a verse or two
to his work
like the almighty poet
who when he likes
answers us back
in riddles

Add It Up

The first time that I saw you, you were modestly waiting for a bus
Now youre driving around in hired limousines
And you talk so upper class.
The cost is high, but its not the only price you ultimately pay
Add it up, you might have got some money
But you lost me on the way
Add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
Ah, gucci, gucci, gucci
Cartier, cartier
Gucci, gucci, gucci
Add it up,
You multiplied and multiplied but whats it leading to?
Add it up,
The only thing subtracted is the love I had for you
So add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
Symbols of perversion and insanity
Symbols of social immorality
Symbols of economic cruelty
Symbolize all what you did to me
Ah, gucci, gucci, gucci
Cartier, cartier
Gucci, gucci, gucci
Cartier, cartier
Money cant cover up the fact youre getting older every day
And you cant disguise your sad little eyes that give your loneliness away
Add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
Add it up, oh
(repeat)

Reaches An Age

a man reaches an age,
and a time in his life...
when having worked, and fought,
having loved, and lost,
having gotten knocked down,
and gotten back up,
over and over, time and again...

a man reaches an age,
and a time in his life...
when he knows he's given more
than he had to give.
when suddenly he's just tired,
and worn to the bone...

a man reaches an age,
and a time in his life...
when he just wants to stop,
to look back, to just feel,
and see if somehow
he's still there!

but now the times have changed,
and there is no stopping,
no point of refuge,
no time to rest...
the battle looms, the lines are drawn,
and all a man can do....

is to keep walking!

Emily Dickinson

Me prove it now—Whoever doubt

537

Me prove it now—Whoever doubt
Me stop to prove it—now—
Make haste—the Scruple! Death be scant
For Opportunity—

The River reaches to my feet—
As yet—My Heart be dry—
Oh Lover—Life could not convince—
Might Death—enable Thee—

The River reaches to My Breast—
Still—still—My Hands above
Proclaim with their remaining Might—
Dost recognize the Love?

The River reaches to my Mouth—
Remember—when the Sea
Swept by my searching eyes—the last—
Themselves were quick—with Thee!

While in Goa!

Coming to you Oh! city of beaches
Ever nice your plesaure when someone reaches

Everyone dreams of the times to visit
A journey off the sun into a cool spirit
Pleasing is your weather which calmness teaches

Coming to you Oh! city of beaches
Ever nice your plesaure when someone reaches

Breeze of the coconut trees within a mile
The sea has an instinct of sudden smile
Healing of the shore offers gathering of riches

Coming to you Oh! city of beaches
Ever nice your plesaure when someone reaches

Signs and Synbols

The dreams you have betray a need
You may not always recognise,
just what it is: You will concede
that this is true if you are wise.

Interpretation of your dreams.
Is not an easy thing to do.
You mind conceives fantastic schemes
to try and get it’s message through.

Although the language is obscure.
The symbols which your mind supplies
can paint a very clear picture.
Quite suddenly you realise.

Just what the symbols signify.
It is quite easy when you try.

Can you hear my soul sing?

The sounds of my soul are a symphony,
always a lilting melody.
There's never a minor chord to interfere
with all the sweet tones that I hear.

The quiet reflections are the rests
that pause in its ongoing quest
to proceed with violin strings so sweet
to heal the pierces that I meet.

The harps and orchestral sounds
allow my soul its leaps and bounds.
And the basso profundo is your touch
which reaches my soul in a tender clutch.

The treble sounds reach out to you
as only I can give to you.
For my soul has always sung a song
and consoled my body as I moved along.

I can hear it wherever I go.
Can you hear my soul sing?
I will wish it so.
Listen my love so you can hear
the song that I am for you, my dear

Baccalaureate

A year or two, and grey Euripides,
And Horace and a Lydia or so,
And Euclid and the brush of Angelo,
Darwin on man, Vergilius on bees,
The nose and Dialogues of Socrates,
Don Quixote, Hudibras and Trinculo,
How worlds are spawned and where the dead gods go,--
All shall be shard of broken memories.

And there shall linger other, magic things,--
The fog that creeps in wanly from the sea,
The rotton harbor smell, the mystery
Of moonlit elms, the flash of pigeon wings,
The sunny Green, the old-world peace that clings
About the college yard, where endlessly
The dead go up and down. These things shall be
Enchantment of our heart's rememberings.

And these are more than memories of youth
Which earth's four winds of pain shall blow away;
These are earth's symbols of eternal truth,
Symbols of dream and imagery and flame,
Symbols of those same verities that play
Bright through the crumbling gold of a great name.

Interpretations for M lady Marcy

We are confused by our odd dreams
when nothing is quite as it seems.
Though dreams may be our minds at play.
Sometimes they can show us the way.

High light the pitfalls and the snares
we might fall into unawares.
The dreaming mind can see ahead
along the future path we tread.

But dreams use symbols to convey
their message in a concealed way.
If we can learn to recognise
what every symbol signifies.

Then we have solved the mystery
and can walk on confidently.
Quite sure we can avoid the traps
Which lie in wait for us perhaps.

But first we have to learn to read
the symbols if we would succeed.

Stay With Me

Tempered by greed, tall buildings breathe
Give a sigh of relief when its night
Stirring from sleep, we night owls creep
Is there any sign of life under this stone
Star chime hollow & true.
Love, child
Weep for me & I will cast your wheels in motion
Walk with me the inner reaches of emotion
Sheltered by creed, one piled on one
Do you have a little room for one small one
Light shine wild & free
Sun, rise
Weep for me & I will set your wheels in motion
Keep with me & like a roller on the ocean
Stand by me & I will fill you with devotion
Walk with me the inner reaches of emotion
Weep for me & sands of time will fill the ocean
Keep with me til rays of sunshine fill the ocean
Walk with me the inner reaches of emotion
Stand with me & I will fill you with devotion
Weep for me the sands of time will fill the ocean
Keep with me & like a roller on the ocean
Stand by me & I will fill you with devotion
Walk with me the inner reaches of emotion
The sands of time will fill the ocean
Keep with me & rays of sunshine fill the ocean
Walk with me the inner reaches of emotion
