Men like Hitler and Stalin and their immediate lieutenants cannot plead in defence of their actions that these were justified by the accepted values of that time.

Justified Actions

Justified actions!
No matter who finds them offensive.
Or who they are against to offend.
Are done and expected to be condoned,
By any and everyone.
And that is the attitude,
By the doer that is shown.
Although physically grown...
A mentality is vacant.
And does not show a sign of respect,
Is near or will approach anytime soon.

Justified actions!
Even when videotape is supplied...
Folks become defensive,
And try to deny
What is seen by the eyes!
And expect to be...
And get,
Excused!

And some wonder why,
A harshness comes when describing them...
As fools!
However...
It seems to be an appropriate fit,
By those who have experienced...
The reality and not the romanticized version,
Of their ways and this existence!
Protected,
From scutiny...
And truth!

Reflection For Peace Minus War

We have to look at man's many past mistakes
If we are to improve our country's fate
In the past so many, many lives were lost
And, of course, we will never forget the Holocaust

Time and Time again men and women are injured in war
With refugees fleeing as gunshots soar
Yet we never seem to see any possible end
Wars just come, over and over, again and again

We've had more than our share of Hitler and Stalin
Never forgetting the terrible reign of Saddam Hussein
The world would be blessed if a dictator we'd never see
There would be less war, pain, death, and no refugees.

No Values / No More Lonely Nights

I hear them telling me that you're selling off the furniture
And even keep my personalized autographs
You might as well go all the way and sell your granny to the zoo
And while you're at it, may I go to my psychiatrist ?
He's making money out of making me laugh
But I don't mind , I wish that I could say the same about you
It seems to me that you've still got no values
Oh you know you're not so hot, no values
And I'll be glad if you went away again
No values . . . no values . . . no values at all
The city shark is at the dark and of the alleyway
You pays your money and you takes your choice
The artful dodger says he wants to pick a pocket or two
But you, you've taken up a place in high society
A personal friend of messrs rolls and royce
Got them all convinced that everything you say to them is true
It seems to me that you've still got no values
Oh you know you're not so hot, no values
You know you've got a lot, but no values
And I'd be glad if you went away again
No values . . . no values . . . no values at all
I like your wife's smile, I like her car
If I had your lifestyle, I wouldn't go far wrong
On the waters of life you row your boat
Into the strongest tide that you can find
On the darkest of nights we were two of a kind
We went through it all before the tide went out
And left us stranded on the shore
How was I to know
How was I to know
Well you ain't got no values
You know you think you're hot, no values
You know you've got a lot, but no values
And I'd be glad if you went away again
No values . . . no values . . . no values at all

When Hitler came for the Jews... I was not a Jew, therefore, I was not concerned. And when Hitler attacked the Catholics, I was not a Catholic, and therefore, I was not concerned. And when Hitler attacked the unions and the industrialists, I was not a member of the unions and I was not concerned. Then, Hitler attacked me and the Protestant church

A Conspiracy Theory

Have you heard the news?
Stalin's singing the blues
And Hitler is wearing his blue suede shoes.

They've written a song
To prove you wrong
For saying they murdered the gypsies and Jews.

It's making you weary,
Conspiracy theory,
And never knowing which side to choose.

But Holocaust denial
Will lead to your trial
'Cos somebody somewhere has too much to lose!

Fountain pen & ink; Poor writer's cramp?

'Pour me more ink
If you want to write
your epitaph?
The tears are not durable
And it fades away
from the tomb.'
Writer cries
and a bookworm creeps
on the manuscript?

[Joseph Stalin who feared Leon Trotsky's pen more than he feared the Hitler's Army and that's why he used a paid agent to assasinate him with an ice dagger? ]

Meant to Be Included

Values and standards!
Are they goals to maintain.
A way of life,
Kept sustained to remain.
Or are they ideals out of reach.
Wth a hope that one day,
A practice accepted...
Will not be preached.

Values and standards!
When created,
What was the intention.
To reflect mindsets,
In public display of pretentions.
Or were diversed cultures,
Meant to be included in this 'plan'.
Since no worthy growth has been detected.
And fellowship and goodwill seems to have been arrested.

A Job Well Done

Quiescent now for many years.
I never thought to feel again.
The hunting instinct which now stirs.
An urge I must try to restrain.

My conscience is reminding me.
I have retained my hunting skill
Which I could employ usefully.
In hunting those prepared to kill.

Without remorse and randomly.
To satisfy some twisted lust.
Though not the man I used to be.
I have decided that I must.

Identify the latest one.
But acting unofficially.
I much prefer to hunt alone.
No petty rules to hamper me.

I’ve studied very carefully
the clues the killer left behind.
Such killers act predictably.
Which makes them easier to find.

I do not have to justify
my actions in a court of law.
It is my judgement he must die.
Make certain that he kills no more.

I’ll leave sufficient evidence.
To prove his guilt beyond all doubt.
I have not lost my confidence.
That sins will always find you out.

Though I hide my identity.
It is an act of self defence.
It also means that I am free.
From any outside influence.

No lawyers claiming innocence.
No bleeding hearts to plead his cause.
In truth he has no real defence.
I execute him for just cause.

The city can now sleep in peace.
The killer’s dead as he should be.
I think that I deserve release
From my self appointed duty.

I will return from whence I came.
Adopt my true identity.
Certain no one knows my name.
Ensuring my security.

People are afraid

People are afraid
of the year 2012 that are coming
and expect something to happen
that is going to tear the world apart,
but maybe man himself
is his greatest enemy.

At times I wonder about guns
killing in Afghanistan and Iraq
and bombs dropping from bombers
there on people

while a super power
like before
stand free from her deeds
and of nuclear bombs
exploding on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

not a lot is said about
and people look only
at the inhumanities
of Hitler and Stalin
and almost nothing
is said about Harry S. Truman.

Values are social norms — they're personal, emotional, subjective, and arguable. All of us have values. Even criminals have values. The question you must ask yourself is, Are your values based
upon principles? In the last analysis, principles are natural laws — they're impersonal, factual, objective and self-evident. Consequences are governed by principles and behavior is governed by values; therefore, value principles!
