But democracy isn't a state of perfection. It has to be improved, and that means constant vigilance.

One is actually the democracy here, you know, people are, people assume that this election means that there is democracy in Pakistan. There is no democracy.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

Treachery and
Ruthless decisions
Not good.
In democracy

Should be sensitives

Poem for David
The thing is,
a poem 'means' what it means to each reader,
not your poetry teacher,
not the guys who call themselves critics,
it's democracy come at last to the toffee-nosed
haughty-cultural world of the arts
so don't ask me what this one means,
you tell me, OK? that's if it means anything
oh did I forget something
ah yes the poem
sorry I seem to have forgotten
what I was going to say

Aim at perfection, be satisfied with excellence
Aim at perfection
But be satisfied with excellence
As absolute perfection is
Unattainable
We say in science
Absolute zero is unattainable
Perfection means zero defects
In the product or outcome
And it means zero deviation
In the process and systems employed
While excellence in performance is
Being ahead of most of others
With regard to process and
Quality of the product
And this is achievable
It is well known and established that
Imperfection and randomness
Are the essence of survival
And the nature has all its biodiversity
Because of imperfection and
Deviation from the norms
Insistence on perfection
May lead to failures
And likely win you more foes than friends
You may even leave a scar in the hearts of
Your own people and friends
If you zero in on perfection only
The fact remains
There is no perfected art
There is no perfected process
There is no perfected write
All await your touch
And improvement therefrom
You do not compromise either
As you will be struggling to
Excel all others
Target at the best
Arrive at the best possible

We talk about a secular state in India. It is perhaps not very easy even to find a good word in Hindi for "secular". Some people think it means something opposed to religion. That obviously is not correct. What it means is that it is state which honours all faiths equally and gives them equal opportunities; that, as a state, it does not allow itself to be attached to one faith or religion, which then becomes the state religion.

Democracy
If a country’s majority of people are illiterate
Democracy will bear no sweet fruit
Whereas if a country’s most of the people are educated
Democracy will bring peace, harmony and prosperity.
Therefore governments ought to provide education to all citizens
In order to obtain good results of democracy
And if necessary they should go for free education
For the poor people irrespective of sex.
On the other hand education should be up to the mark
And moral education should also be provided
So that a corruption-free society can be established.
Thus democracy is able to set up a welfare state
With a minimum timeframe.

Paradise refused for Friend JTEarly
I dreamt I was in paradise
Where every thing was beautiful
Nothing here displeased my eyes.
I thought at first how wonderful.
But I grew bored and longed to see
something which lacked perfection
This paradise did not suit me.
I voiced my consternation
I needed contrasts to compare
The constant beauty soon grew stale.
I did not want to remain there
I was afraid that I would fail.
Lose my ability to choose
What kind of beauty I preferred
I made my mind up to refuse
The sad boredom heaven offered.
Your paradise would be my hell
Total perfection’s not for me
I must have ugliness as well
a difference that I can see.
When I awoke I was relieved
to see my world just as it is.
And not the paradise conceived
by others as a state of bliss.

Two poles
Perfection means waste of time.
The end orientated ones mean jeopardy.
Discipline means loss of freedom.
Freedom means anarchy.
People are beset with these.

Democracy
(Democracy in India has become a fun for certain people. The nexus between the corrupt politicians and corrupt officers is responsible for degrading the values of democracy)
People's state for the people, by the people,
But what kind of people?
Criminals, robbers murderers, rapists,
And off-course the corrupts,
These are the people?
And
honest, simple and plain speaking
Feel suffocated,
If this is democracy,
I denounce it.

Meaning Of War
Meaning of war
War means bombing
War means explosions
War means fire
War means destruction
War means hating
War means mutilation
War means killing
War means tears
War means guns
War means loss
War means not of who is right
War means not of who is wrong
War means only of whom is left

Democracy Today
Democracy today
Is democracy
Right for the Afghans or Iraqis
Unthinkable thought
Countries torn by tribalism
Certainly need a strongman
A one party state
Until institutions are in place
and people value
the principle of statehood
and take pride in their nation.

But after one side
Or the other side
Has finally had enough
And lays down their arms
To surrender and give up

Democracy doesn't recognize east or west; democracy is simply people's will. Therefore, I do not acknowledge that there are various models of democracy; there is just democracy itself.

Democracy means that people can say what they want to. All the people. It means that they can vote as they wish. All the people. It means that they can worship God in any way they feel right, and that includes Christians and Jews and voodoo doctors as well.

It is an error to imagine that evolution signifies a constant tendency to increased perfection. That process undoubtedly involves a constant remodelling of the organism in adaptation to new conditions; but it depends on the nature of those conditions whether the directions of the modifications effected shall be upward or downward.

Is Democracy Worth Keeping?
In monarch unlike in democracy,
No faction dominates.
The king earns to run the state,
Unlike the elected who earn to flee.
The majority rules in a democracy,
Where form the wise as minority.
