An idol of the mind is as offensive to God as an idol of the hand.

Idolatory
idolatory
many commit it
even without a trace
of an idol
for in their heart
god has become
an idol itself
day in and day out
they pray
to him for favours
and when
they are not forthcoming
god is put
in a corner
of the heart
unfit even for idols
- forgotten
and loathed
- as they look
to another idol
for favours
the devil
sure knows
the best place
to make an idol
out of god
Lot is one in
a trillion

Ride With Idol
Try to remember those ancient evenings
When all we had was just enough.
Now the pretender knows why the king is screaming.
The grief was finally just too much.
Im going to ride with the idol
Like a creature on display,
Tied to the bottom of a cage.
Ride with the idol,
But it wont turn out the same.
I know they wont blow out the flame.
Over my shoulder, I know theyre waiting.
Their dirty hands are everywhere.
And as they get closer all the pretense is fading.
The face beneath the skin is bare.
So now I ride with the idol
Like a creature on display,
Tied to the bottom of a cage, oh yeah.
Ride with the idol,
But it wont turn out the same.
I know they wont blow out the flame.
I can never learn to say no.
Wont they ever let me go?
[guitar interlude]
Im going to ride with the idol
Like a creature on display,
Tied to the bottom of a cage. oh yeah, yeah.
Ride with the idol,
But it wont turn out the same.
I know they wont blow out the flame.
Ride with the idol,
Like a creature on display,
Tied to the bottom of a cage. oh yeah, yeah.
Ride with the idol,
But it wont turn out the same.
I know they wont blow out the flame (fade)

To love the one who loves you, To admire the one who admires you, In a word, to be the idol of one's idol, Is exceeding the limit of human joy; It is stealing fire from heaven.

I'll Be Your Idol Tonight
Rewrite/parody of Whitney Houston's I'm Your Baby Tonight
Inspired By American Idol
From the moment you heard me you all went outta your minds
Thought that you never believed in love at first hearing
But I got a magic that you just can't explain
Well I got a, I got a way that I make you feel
I can do, I can do anything for you baby
I'll go down for you baby
Lay all my best out for you to see and hear tonight
Just vote for me baby
I'll even throw in a little extra cash money
It's your move, so baby decide
Whatever you want from me
I'm givin' you everythang
I'm your idol tonight
I'll be your estasy
I'll be your every fantasy
I'll be your idol tonight
From the second you heard me
You were ready to die
You've never been fatal, I'm your first time
I'm your angel, ready to fly
Well I got, I got a way that I make you feel
Feel I can, sing anything for you baby
I will fly
I will die for you baby
Hold on and enjoy the ride
I'm not in no hurry
Gonna fly for you all night baby
It's your move
It's your vote, now baby, let's fly
Whatever you want from me
I'm givin' you everythang
I'm your idol tonight
I'll be your estasy
I'll be your every fantasy
I'll be your idol tonight
Whatever I sing honey
It's all for you baby
And ain't the truth sugar
You're falling helplessly in love with me
Gonna vote for me everytime baby
Cos I've got, I've got a way that I make you
Feel I can, feel I can sing anything, sing anything
Whatever you want from me
I'm givin' you everythang
I'm your idol tonight
I'll be your estasy
I'll be your every fantasy
I'll be your idol tonight
Looks like I'm fatal
It's all on the table
And baby you hold my fate in your hands
You got the votes
And I've got to have them
I don't want just a few million
I want every last single one
I'll be your dirty pop rock angel
I'm ready, willing and able
Whatever you want me to sing is fine
Whenever you're ready, just call to hire this lady
And I'll be your idol tonight
Whatever you want from me
I'm givin' you everythang
I'm your idol tonight
I'll be your estasy
I'll be your every fantasy
I'll be your idol tonight

Back then, my idol was Bugs Bunny, because I saw a cartoon of him playing ball - you know, the one where he plays every position himself with nobody else on the field but him? Now that I think of it, Bugs is still my idol. You have to love a ballplayer like that.

Defects are effects
The part, which is defective with anyone
Is not so for you when that part happens
To be of a modal or an idol of your citadel.
A crooked tooth or a twisted lip, be it.
You are my idol, who drops its defects.
Likewise is the wrong with anyone,
Which is not so for you when that one
Is of your celebrity or a heartthrob.
Stubbornness or elusiveness, be it.
You are my heartbeat, wrongs shut out.

THE POEM IS A PRISON, AN IDOL
The poem is a prison an idol
I worship and must escape -

Mistinguette
He was my one and only love;
My world was mirror for his face.
We were as close as hand and glove,
Until he came with smiling grace
To say: 'We must be wise, my dear.
You are the idol of today,
But I too plan a proud career,--
Let's kiss and go our way.'
And then he soared to sudden fame,
And even queens applauded him.
A halo glorified his name
That dust of time may never dim.
And me,--I toured golden Brazil,
Yet as gay mobs were cheering me,
The sun seemed black, the brilliance chill,
My triumph mockery.
Today if I should say: 'Hello!'
He'd say: 'How are you?' I'd say: 'Fine.'
Yet never shall he see the woe,
The wanness of my frail decline.
I love him now and always will.
Oh may his star be long to set!
My Maurice is an idol still,--
What wreaths for Mistinguette!

Father's Day
Once a year in the month of June
we celebrate Father's Day.
If you're a father you probably know
just what your kids will say.
'Thank you Dad for being there
whenever I needed you.'
These are the words that mean so much
as he watched over you as you grew.
Everyone looks for an idol in life,
someone to look up to.
There's no better idol for anyone
than a father that is true.
True to his words that says it all
'I love you in every way.'
So take the time to express to him
'Have a Happy Father's Day.'

This Time Again
God kicked you out
To create, ridiculous man
Creates to break
One after another
And makes forbidden fruit
The sweetest.
Unnatural ways
Gays and incest.
The unnatural choice.
Man, you hilarious,
Can not create
Still makes idol after idol
Get delight to violate.
The laws are to follow
But you have chosen
The path of rebellion.
God will kick you out
This time again
But sure, not to create
But to send you out of the ring.

Mother's Day Poem '06
Dress up, dolls,
A fake string of pearls,
My mother you have always
Made up my world.
My idol, my teacher,
My comrade, my friend,
Always there for heartache
And games of pretend.
Road trips, shopping
Baking cookies for Santa,
I could not have asked
For a mother better.
I want you to know
How much you mean to me
You are special, I love you
And I want you to see
I would never for the world
Trade you for another
My idol, my friend,
My teacher, my mother
One-side too nourishes
Meera’s love, Andal’s love
All for Lord Krishna,
They so proclaimed.
The world acclaimed.
Their love is one sided.
In his love for her,
Which is an one sided,
The object is real.
The idol has senses.
Why is this act spurned?

Gain and loss
I bought an idol made of ivory.
All said it was good; it got its glory.
Who must I be grateful to:
The seller, the maker,
The smuggler, the very tusk
Or the elephant slaughtered?
Is such gain worthy?
I lost the idol made of ivory.
A treasure was it; I got fury.
Who must I blame for the loss:
The inmates, the servants,
The thief, his need and creed
Or the society that valued it?
Is such loss a pity?
Credits and blames on tracing
Would fizzle out to naught.

Suppressed......
seeing you
i hear my heart beats
like drums of
Korea
i put my hand
on my chest
suppressing
the loud sound
like the mouth of
a fan screaming
to the sight of
its idol
my hand is the rag
that covers it

Corporate Cloning
A cloned force mass produced, simulate, introduced
Delinquent rank and file, encoded, stamped and styled
Ill-affected progeny, tasteless iconography
A half life in the light, industry by design
Plastic thoughts in my mind, thus begins my demise
This years model dims and fades, last years model is erased
Prototype by design, prototype stand in line!
Another fading idol
Another falling icon
Like insects share a mind, deviance is a crime
Delinquent rank and file, encoded, stamped and styled
Ill-affected progeny, tasteless iconography
This years model dims and fades, last years model is erased
Prototype by design, prototype stand in line!
Another fading idol
Another falling icon
(Sometimes I wish I were deaf and blind)
Another fading idol
Another falling icon

The Love Sonnets Of Proteus. Part I: To Manon: XII
ON READING CERTAIN LETTERS
Reading these lines, this record of lost days
Where I am not, and yet where love has been,
This tale of passions consecrate to men
Other than me, unwitting of my ways,
I seem to hear some pagan chaunt of praise
Hymned to an idol shrine in gardens green,
Some wild soft worship of a god obscene,
Some idle homage to an idol face.
I shut my ears, yet hear it still. My eyes
See not, yet see the unchaste the unlawful fire;
I scent the odour of the sacrifice,
And feel the victim's shriek. Then in my ire
I rise up, as on Horeb, and I cry,
``There is none other god, but only I!''
