I don't really have a favorite bass player. I listen to a lot of bluegrass. But then again, I'm not a typical bluegrass bass player. I was really into the Grateful Dead, and I still am - I don't listen to them too much, but for me they are a big influence.

Bluer Pastures
(Dolly Parton)
I was lookin' for greener pastures
When I left my old Kentucky home
I was chasin' after dreams I thought I'd master
So I left the one that loved me all along
Thinkin' only of myself and doin' better
Didn't care about the grief I left behind
Didn't even make a card or write a letter
So sure I'd be successful in no time
Now I'm heading for bluer pastures
And back to the one who's heart I broke
To the bluegrass state of Kentucky
Where he waits with open for me I hope
Ain't it funny how you are when you're younger?
How what you have is never good enough
How the years will find you searchin' through your plunder
Lookin' for the treasures you gave up
Well the seasons came, they went
The dreams all shattered
While the grass just stayed a lonely shade of brown
Then I realized I'd lost all that had mattered
So with foolish pride aside, I'm homeward bound
Now I'm heading for bluer pastures
And back to the one who's heart I broke
To the bluegrass state of ole Kentucky
Where he waits with open for me I hope
Now I'm heading for bluer pastures
Where the bluegrass waves sweetly in the wind
Where the bluegrass music's always playin'
To the haunting sound of Monroe's mandolin
I'm heading for bluer pastures

I have the background singers of Ray Charles, the background singers of Smokey Robinson, and the background singers of Barry White and I built a choir around that.

There should be a background check every time a firearm is transferred. You shouldn't be able to go to a gun show and buy guns without a background check. There are Internet gun sales, classified ads in the newspapers - and you can buy guns without background checks.

The Background
Everything is quiet since youre not around
And I live in the numbness now
In the background
I do the things we did before
I walk haight street to the store
And they say wheres that crazy girl
You dont get drunk on red wine and fight no more
I dont see you anymore since the hospital
The plans I make still have you in them
Cause you come swimming into view
And Im hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I carry you around
In the background
Im in the background
Words they come and memories all repeat
I lift your head while they change the hospital sheets
And I would never lie to you no
I would never lie to you no
I felt you long after we were through, we were through
The plans I make still have you in them
Cause you come swimming into view
And Im hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I carry you around
In the background
Cause I felt you long after we were through
Well you come swimming into view
And Im hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel to you
I only know because
Im way Im way in the background
Im in the background

Before the arrival of the Credit Union, people who were from the poor background or a working class background couldn't borrow from banks.
Heart of Gold
Sometimes we meet people,
and declare they have a heart of gold.
They do things for others,
never expecting any beneficial in return.
It is only part of their nature.
They do not see anything special,
in the things they do.
To them it is only part of their life,
which they travel through.
When someone makes public,
of their golden deed,
those with the hearts of gold,
into the background,
try quickly to proceed.

Taboo To Love
Are you telling me you feel
Like you have never felt
Ut oh, my heart
Dont you know those famous words
Be seen but not heard
Taboo to love
Are you telling me your eyes
Met hers to your surprise
But why, my heart?
How loud must you hear me say
Have fun but dont play
Taboo to love
Wheres your lantern or candlelight
So to guide you through hidden spaces
Though its said truth unveils all lies
Feelings cant be left to roam
So you say youve lost your head
But you use your heart instead
Beware of love
This is not like you at all
Who vowed to never fall
Taboo to love, taboo to love
Taboo (background)
To love, taboo to love
Taboo (background)
Wheres your raincoat and over-boots
To protect you in stormy weather
Though its said when you walk in truth
Love can bring you no harm
So youve made up in your mind
Youll leave your fears behind
So brave my heart
I guess your heart has made you see
Its better to be free
No taboo to love
I guess your heart has made you see
Its much better to be free
No taboo to love
No taboo to love
Taboo (background)
To love, no taboo to love
Taboo (background)
To love, no taboo to love
Taboo (background)
To love, no taboo to love
Taboo (background)
No taboo to love

Background
You wish to find something in my background,
To soundly pound into the surrounding ground?
I've tested and teased and experimented too.
There is nothing that I hide,
In my background from you.
In fact my honesty may be more than you believe.
Every hair on my butt has been inspected for all to see.
And I keep in shape...
Just in case,
I am dared to moon!
My dignity I pride.
With an identity I trust!
But if you must probe into my background...
You can begin with my butt!
I am told it is one of my assets.
And I know that when I strut!
Proud am I to be so blessed...
With an abundance of 'gifts'
I shared and love to give...
With a less expected arresting seriousness,
Some live to inhabit within limited exhibits.

Man's unique reward, however, is that while animals survive by adjusting themselves to their background, man survives by adjusting his background to himself.
Its You
I look inside my crystal ball of desire
And know why rapid beats my heart
I see the spark, I feel the flame of the fire
Letting me know love wants to start
No more playing around
No more waiting around for the special one to come
No more wearing a frown
No more tears coming down cause I know what I want
And I want what I know
Is you
Nobody has to tell me so
Its you, its you, youre the angel sent from heaven above
Its you, nobody has to tell me so
Its you, youre that angel sent from heaven above for me
(background-me for you and you for me)
If only I had not waited I would have picked the wrong one
If only I had not waited my life would be undone
If only I had not waited I woul have picked the wrong one
If only I had not waited for you (harmonica solo)
I look behind and what I sight is the mire
So very lonely was my heart
I look ahead I hear the sound of the choir
Singing that love will never part
No more hearing the sound of the rain coming down
No more I cant see the sun
No more hurting for fun cause the moment has come
When I know what I want
And I want what I know
Is you
Nobody has to tell me so
Its you, youre the angel sent from heaven above
Its you, nobody has to tell me so
Its you, youre that angel sent from heaven above for me
(background-me for you and you for me)
If only I had not waited I would have picked the wrong one
If only I had not waited my life would be undone
If only I had not waited I would have picked the wrong one
If only I had not waited for you
cause baby
Its you
Nobody has to tell me so
Its you, youre the angel sent from heaven above
Its you, nobody has to tell me so
Its you, youre that angel sent from heaven above for me
(background-me for you and you for me)
If only I had not waited I would have picked the wrong one
If only I had not waited my life would be undone
If only I had not waited I would have picked the wrong one
If only I had not waited for you
