I Cant Pretend
Charles tobias / paul rusincky (w. edward breuder? )
I cant pretend
Im sorry were apart
I cant pretend
I just cant fool my heart
Though I make mine
My friends all seem to realize
Their smiles, that look in my eye
I cant pretend
I simply cant be gayer
For in the end
My tears give me away
Without you dear
I live a lie
I cant defend
I love you
And I cant pretend

Eventually
I met a man
And talked about you
He seemed like a man from Osaka I knew
And he listened while I told him how you hurt me
And he consoled me when he told me he'd been hurt too
And he said we are inter-dependent
And the effects on each other never ending
And that the air has no boundaries
I think this water that surrounds me
Is the same water soaking through to you
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
I had some tea
With a gal from Paris
We talked about life, sex, love and poetry
And you can't help it
Your name came up again
And she said man those kind of guys
Really know how to steal all of the oxygen
And I said we are inter-dependent
And the effects on each other never ending
And that the air has no boundaries
I think this water that surrounds me
Is the same water soaking' through to you
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
I have a friend I confide in
He always says doll you got to learn not to lead with your chin
But you can't help it
It all comes up again
And then you have your fill
And your spill reaches down as far as a flood
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
Eventually
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
Eventually
Eventually

Happy Face
My face is raw,
With the flashflood of tears,
My head is pounding,
From crying so hard,
I can't quite comprehend,
Why this has happened.
Thots invading my mind,
Thots of suicide.
I know that wouldn't solve anything,
Plus I don't want her to keep that promise,
So I'll shove those thots back out.
Put on my happy face,
I can't let them see that anything is wrong,
That I might be cracking.
But when I get a chace,
I'll crawl into bed,
...and sleep,
And try to forget that this happened.
When I wake up,
I'll realixe that I could never forget
I'll never feel like I have.
When I was with her.
I'll pretend I never know her,
To get through there two years,
But I'll be emotionless,
Until she comes back,
And if she doesn't.
I'll put on my happy face,
and pretend everything is okay.

The Pretend Game
I.......can't........ play........this game....with u, called pretend, like were in grade school at the age of ten, and I'm thinking this situation here can drive a person to do something very surprising. Because of u playing with someone emotion, but you get off! ! ! and get a kick out of a person thats interest in you. When you no got *** well deep in your ******* heart! ! ! ! that the feelings is not mutual. you market the bull **** word(pretend) for your own selfish reason or just for the sake of not loosing him. But your action speak louder then words. And your playing the Game pretend is for the birds, and I have to fly away and get out of your face before i ketch a case. mentally it's making me sick, and giving me a head ache. When I think the thought of me allowing myself to fall and go thur such foolishness with U! ! ! because baby I deserve greater then this and U! So stay right in your land of pretend Alice and keep wondering or turn back into Dorothee and have fun in your land called oz, with the tin man and the munchkins. Because the act And your game has come to a end at lease with me pretend friend.

It's A Fact
that those who pretend
to be asleep
are the hardest people to wake
and so i pretend too that i do not know that you are pretending.
in this way
we are even.
i pretend that i am wide awake
in the middle of my
resentful sleep.

As Is Meant To Be Told
With a silenced mind,
Listen to them find...
Excuses to make for themselves.
And those who make excuses,
To abuse the truth.
Are liars.
With a quiet mind anyone can find,
Those who pretend.
There are ways to deal with people who pretend.
And there are many of them attempting to defend themselves,
With lies they tell on someone else.
Hoping the doing keeps them popular amongst those unknowing,
Them to be chronic liars prepared to always put on a show...
To protect their insecurities and victimizing those that don't know.
The affects of this are all around.
If one's eyes and ears are kept open.
And one's mouth is kept shut.
While listening to things being instantly made up.
Watch them mentally self destruct.
'Who? '
Those who lie and want you to believe them true.
While they continue to make things up,
As often as they do.
And those they've deceived will eventually awaken,
To disbelieve the doers of these misdeeds.
When the pieces are put together to reveal those faking.
There are ways to deal with people who pretend.
Hoping the doing keeps them popular amongst those unknowing,
Them to be chronic liars.
With a watching them mentally self destruct,
And those they've deceived will eventually awaken,
To disbelieve the doers of these misdeeds...
While listening to them talk about themselves too much,
With a passing of judgement and telling of lies on others.
'But...
How do we know them to do these things? '
Those who make excuses,
To abuse the truth...
Are liars.
And...
With a quiet mind anyone can find,
Those who pretend with a defending of themselves against...
Someone who is not around,
More familiar with the telling of truth as is meant to be told.
'Who do you think are those least likely to tell the truth? '
It is in the observation.
Who has difficulty accepting who they are?
Who uses their ethnicity as a fashion statement,
And not a possessed identity?
And who is quick to assess others like themselves,
With comments made that have no dignity?
And those who lie are always the ones self righteous,
Quick to use God as if God is not aware of false tongues.

Just Pretend
(words & music by flett - fletcher)
Just pretend, Im holding you
And whispering things soft and low
And think of me, how its gonna be,
Just pretend I didnt go
When I walked away, I heard you say
If you need me, you know what to do
I knew it then, Id be back again
Just pretend Im right there with you
And Ill come flying to you, oh yes
All the crying is true
Oh, I will hold you and love you again
But until then, well just pretend
Oh, its funny but I cant recall the things
We said or why youre crying
But now I know it was wrong to go
I belong here by your side

Pretender
You pretend, you hide
You turn your face away
Reality is an illusion
And disillusioned you stay
You say the animal calls
But you're more human than me
What is uncaged wildness
Just human emotion set free
The oyster i once called you
Your little shell you defend
A pretender you are
You do nought nut pretend

One Sweet Day (feat. Mariah Carey)
with Carey Mariah)
Sorry I never told you
All I wanted to say
And now it's too late to hold you
'cause you've flown away
So far away
Never had I imagined
Living without your smile
Feeling and knowing you hear me
It keeps me alive
Alive
Refrain:
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
Eventually we'll sing in heaven
Darling I never showed you
Assumed you'd always be there
And I took your presence for granted
But I always cared
And I miss the love we shared
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
Eventually we'll sing in heaven
Although the sun will never shine the same
I'll always look to a brighter day
Lord I know when I lay me down to sleep
You will always listen as I pray
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
Eventually we'll sing in heaven
Sorry I never told you
All I wanted to say

In Their Best Performances
The only way there is,
To defend against those...
Who show they can be treacherous,
Is to pretend you have been...
A willing victim of it.
Since those who 'are' treacherous,
Often seek the ones appearing to be dumb...
Ignorant and innocent of what's going on!
And eventually expose themselves,
To others they teach...
How to observe their doings,
While delivering this in their best performances.

All The Way There İs Always Us, Us
we are related on intimate chains
there are no strangers here
one cannot say i do not know you
names are nothing but tags
on goods that know how they are made
and displayed and
eventually sold
nothing remains here unshaken
to each his pleasures and
pains
those that pretend they are staying
had already been discarded by
fate, and those who voluntarily take the journey
as expected
are handled smoothly by their
destinies
delivered to the gates of their dreams
and sleep there
for a while
we are what we are
bodies with souls
minds that always speak
and can never be restrained
by our faiths
we have grasses and fires for metaphors
goats and pigeons
the sky above us
the layers of rocks below us
we face walls and curtains
we did the dance and we have sung so well
we were in the same house
this heaven and hell
this self and others
now why do you tell me
that you are alone?

Dealing With People Who Anger You
you are angry
and you will be dealing with people now in anger
you face your detractors
you pretend you do not know what they are doing to you
you face them still
you whistle you smile you pretend you like them
you hold them with gentleness in their arms
wish them all the luck in their endeavors
give them money
feed them
tender the nicest dinner possible in that expensive restaurant
talk like you are the best entertainer in the world
ask them if they are sad
or anxious
stare at them a little bit
but still glow that look acceptable
to your betrayers
make them feel that you are not affected
(hide your anger
in the smile and laughter you always share with them)
let us see who will explode
let us find out where the bomb is
the terrorist in you is the most civil servant of them all

Until One Sits Alone
People today do not want to face their own demons!
And why should they?
When it has been made more convenient,
For them to pretend...
Demons that visit,
Do not for them exist.
They rather give their opinions,
Unsolicited and quick.
About how others should live,
As they pill pop to get...
Their headaches to quit.
Quieting anxieties,
Leaves them less suspicious.
As the ones who can't face their own hurdles.
Or take initiative they themselves do not permit.
Until one sits alone,
Dealing with demons on their own...
Excuses will be condone,
To label their protected wounds.
That scar them to the bone.
People today do not want to face their own demons!
And why should they?
When it has been made more convenient,
For them to pretend...
Demons that visit,
Do not for them exist.
And these same demons...
Are seen from them to persist unlimited.

Stronger, Better, Healthier
Every morning I wake I give thanks to the Universal Mind,
Affirming that only good comes to me
I face my day bravely to whatever comes,
Because I know, I am part of humanity in Thee.
That is why I say every morning, that each day
I am stronger, better and healthier
Because eventually my mind understands this
And my life turns according & I became wiser.
Our human brain & body works this way,
What we believe comes to us
Eventually I change according to my belief
The truth will reveal & I stop being what previously I was.

Spineless
A spinelessness,
Will always find a way...
To slither out of control.
Whether in attempts to convince,
It isn't what it is.
Or pretend a warm heart exists,
In a 'thing' that is nothing...
But stone ice cold.
And those who are spineless,
Eventually show themselves...
When their backs are up against the wall.
And their venomous tactics have been exposed.
Showing themselves to be ssssnakes!

Motives To Create Descension
There are those who have motives,
To create descension.
And find a way by slithering in,
To infect the ones unconscious...
Of their evil intentions believed innocent.
With a portraying of themselves as victims.
Ones who are confused and abused by others.
'I have no idea why I should be treated as such.
I've done absolutely nothing at all.
And I am baffled by this too!
Many know I 'show' love too much.'
There are those who have motives,
To upset that which is correct.
And then with their best masquerading done,
Pretend when discovered...
Of not knowing of their deceit.
To eventually destroy the efforts of those weak.
Who can not accept and believe how they've been used.
~I didn't believe they could be that way.~
Well...
Now you know.
~I didn't believe me they would betray.~
Well...
Now you know.
~It is too late for you and I to start,
Trusting each other from deep inside our hearts? ~
I doubt it.
If you didn't know me for who I am from the beginning...
What makes you think,
Your awakening for me is going to be a life changer?
You are the one who has been tricked.
I am not that kind of a fool.
~I didn't believe they could be that way.~
Well...
Now you know.
~I didn't believe me they would betray.~
Well...
Now you know,
Just how far others will go...
To pretend to be what they are not.
And a...
No offense.
But you're in my space.
Please get out of it.

Know My Name
What kind of situation
Have I brought upon myself
Some kind of bad reaction
Blamed it all on someone else
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before
You got me laughing at me
Laughing all about myself
I had a drink last Friday
Heard the news from someone else
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before
You got me running
Running far from myself
You got me coming
Coming home to someone else
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before
Cause I ain't never seen you before
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before

the only thing
i dont know how to do...
is to pretend it doesnt matter!
to pretend that i dont care!

too valuable to waste...

every second eternal!

The Forever Wounded
Strength has never survived on the back of lies.
It can pretend well from its beginnings.
However...
It is not comfortable with the ride,
That makes attempts to sustain an honest presence.
Eventually,
It is observed for what it is.
And truth has never been that painful to be revealed!
But lies concealed and discovered...
Seem to leave those who tell them,
The forever wounded!

In Solitude
In solitude I remain
With absolutely nothing to gain
Perhaps in time I will be strong
You see! Solitude is not my favourite song
A solitary place
Is not where I belong
Read my lips and trace the lines on my face
You see! Solitude is not my favourite song
But social isolation
Combined with social manipulation
Places me once again in solitude
You see! Solitude is not my preferred attitude
This isn’t a journey of spiritual enlightenment
As some people might say to my resentment
But in great loneliness of this magnitude
I must find some self awareness in solitude
I must find strength and pretend
That everyone around me is my friend
To put this state of scale of elevation to an end
I must pretend, I must pretend
That even Solitude is my friend
