The experiences of promoting my first album were really something; there is so much illusion in my environment (touring and pop music) that I wanted to clear away.

When we came off the tour for the last album, we started on this one. We've just been chipping away at it. We're not in that much of a hurry, because when we release a Blur album, that's a three year promotion and touring cycle.

After touring with David Bowie last year, I was inspired to look at what I wanted to do as an artist, and I realized I wanted to go back to the music I fell in love with when I was eight years old.

Touring and promoting and recording take a lot of time, it's just getting the right balance that's important.
For the second album I look forward to doing a lot of serious collaboration and taking the experiences I've had over this last year, good and bad, and working it into the album.

I claimed identity as Jewish musicians for political reasons, because most of us were touring in Germany and, at this time, twelve years ago, there was a strong resurgence of Nazism in the places we were touring and part of that was on the music scene.

In My Heart
This song appears on two albums, and was first released on the autograph album, and has also been released on the country roads collection album.
I dont know why
We still live together
Were so far apart
So much of the time
I dont know why
This beautiful weather
Is breaking my spirit
And tearing my mind all apart
Are you so lonely
Are you so sad
Have you lost your purpose
The faith that you had
If life is a question
I dont understand
If time is the reason
Then nobody can
In my heart it is just an illusion
Its not even real
Much more than you think
Its much more than you feel
My ears are still ringing
Theres nothing to say
Why look to the ocean
To wash me away
There goes my best friend
There goes my last dime
If love is the answer
Im wasting my time
In my heart it is just an illusion
Its not even real
Much more than you think
Its much more than you feel
Do you feel
Is this real
How I feel
In my heart

I got a chance to have my dream come true, and I wanted to make sure I made the decision as to when I dropped my last album. If I don't feel like this album is an incredible piece of work, then I'm cool with the albums I've done. I don't have to put out another album.

With this new album, I prepared for it a long time, and I was happy with the songs and the production. I felt that I proved myself with the first album, and with this new album, I just want to share some of my music. And that was always my feeling and my intention.

We have been trying to play a lot of different kinds of music, and probably the next album will go back more towards the direction where you couldn't classify each song as a certain kind of music. This album you can.

More Than Wanted
I have wandered far and wide
For something real something to die for
But I have found you and you do not see
All that is me, all that is true
And I am more than you will see
And I am more than you will need
And I am more than you will see
More than wanted
And as you float the flimsy surface
You should know life lies beneath it
And dont pretend you feel what I feel
For you live illusion and im real
And I am more than you will see
And I am more than you will need
And I am more than you will see
More than wanted
And I am more than you will see
And I am more than you will need
And I am more than you will see
More than wanted
And I know, I know
You like the way you feel when I play
I know, I know
You don't really hear what I say
And I know, I know
You are waiting for something to rain
I know, I know
You wish you could be more than you say
And I am more than you will see
And I am more than you will need
And I am more than you will see
More than wanted
And I am more than you will see
And I am more than you will need
And I am more than you will see
More than wanted
More than you'll love
More than you'll hate
More than you'll have
More than wanted
More than you'll need
More than you'll dream
More than you'll hold
More than wanted
More than you'll crave
More than you'll cherish
More than you'll have
More than wanted

Of the 25 songs we've recorded there were 24 that we wanted to have on an album. That wouldn't have worked. So when one of our wise managers suggested the idea of considering two different album, it cleared the way for us.

Along For The Ride
This song appears on two albums, and was first released on one world album, and has also been released on the country classics album.
I had a '56 t-bird
Then i was king of the highway
Trying to make it look fast and easy
And dreamin' of doin' it my way
Let's put the top down baby
Feel the wind in our hair
We were too young to know better
And too cool to care
All i wanted was you by my side
Baby you're only along for the ride
Only along for the ride
Rock and roll on the radio
Let's turn it up and get down
Convertible dreams running wild in the streets
In the all time american town
When you played the thrill queen, baby
I heard the jazz of joy
You were every girl in the world
But i wasn't every boy
All i wanted was you by my side
Baby, you're only along for the ride
All i wanted was you by my side
Baby, you're only along for the ride
Only along for the ride
Memory pink and charcoal grey
Are the clours i painted this song
You were 19 and perfect, baby
But no one stays perfect too long
All i wanted was you by my side
Baby you're only along for the ride
Only along for the ride

Got My Heart Set On You
This song was first released on the dreamland express album. it is the only album it has been released on.
Ever since the day I met you
I feel like Im walking on air
And lately Im convinced, its no coincidence
I run into into you everywhere
And though Ive heard your love is taken
I gotta believe whats in your eyes
Would I be out of line if I suggested a time
And we got together one of these nights
Got my heart set on you
Youre everything Ive ever wanted
Got my heart set on you
Cant be anything but love
Baby Im bettin on it
I dont want to give you the wrong impression
Im not the kind who rushes in
But baby every time I see you, before I even leave you
I can hardly wait to see you again
Got my heart set on you
Youre everything Ive ever wanted
Got my heart set on you
Cant be anything but love
Baby Im bettin on it
I dont mean to be coming on strong
Or taking everything for granted
But love is a thing that just comes along
You dont understand how it got out of hand
But youre in it right from the start
Got my heart set on you
Youre everything Ive ever wanted
Got my heart set on you
Cant be anything but love
Baby Im bettin on it
