As opposed to touring for three years and then going into the studio and writing an album, I think this record is representative of a lot of everyday people.

When we finish this tour we are going to begin writing and go into the studio to hopefully have a brand new Foreigner album out in early spring next year. This will be the first Foreigner album out in about ten years.
But when I record my next studio album, of course I'll do the lead vocals.
The touring for this album was definitely going to be the most intense touring we've done.

I thought I'd do everything on four-track, and then I'll record every instrument myself in a studio, and then I'll have a solo album released by spring.
On record dates like that I never felt too nervous because everything was really overdubbed. When we did that album, we were in the studio for probably a week, so you had a lot of opportunity to fix things.

When we came off the tour for the last album, we started on this one. We've just been chipping away at it. We're not in that much of a hurry, because when we release a Blur album, that's a three year promotion and touring cycle.

Now, you can just get a laptop, get some software, put a microphone on it and make a record. You have to know how to do it. It does help if you've had 35 or 40 years of experience in the studio. But, it still levels the playing field so artists can record their own stuff.

That's when we decided to stop in '66. Everyone thought we toured for years, you know, but we didn't. I joined in '62, and we'd finished touring in '66 to go into the studio where we could hear each other... and create any fantasy that came out of anybody's brain.

I mean there are tons of reasons. Well first of all. I write my own record. I don't take other people's materials. And I have a job which is being Willa Ford on top of getting back in the studio and writing and recording.

If we were truly in the studio making a record, it would have been more time consuming, and certainly I would have been more involved in the writing process.

I realised that the only time I really enjoyed music was when I was in the studio writing. So even though it was a six album deal, they saw quite early on that I wasn't enjoying it as I should be. I didn't feel there was anything behind it.

Thank You For Writing A Poem For Me
i am your fan
many years and more years to come
i shall remain
your avid fan
thank you for writing me a poem
about love
and sleepless nights
thank you for writing about the ward
the man bound in
straitjacket
that glass of water that has to be taken everyday
to slide the pills smoothly
in your throat
thank you for writing about the children
who shall still find their mothers
their homes
thank you for bearing with us all these years
when we ourselves
have nothing to write anymore
thank you for being there
always and forever.

Whenever I release a record, it's my record. It's not a selfish thought. I may work all year 'round for other people. So, finally, when I come out with my own album, it should be me with the creative help of other musicians.

We toured that record for a year, which turned out to be the culmination of ten years of being constantly on the road. We were sick to death of touring.

Well, we didn't have our original drummer on our last record. And most of that album was not played as a band in the studio. It was mostly the world of computers and overdubs. There was very few things played live or worked out as a band.
I'm not a guy to go in the studio and spend months, let alone years, like some people do. I cannot even be in the studio for a month, it will drive me nuts.

I like touring, I like being in the studio, a bit of both. I like to have a bit of time at home as well.

It varies from song to song, although Buck Owens and I recently collaborated on writing a duet together and am looking forward with a great deal of anticipation to recording that track for the new studio album.

The last album was dope yall, and here we go again!
No applause, no applause, thank you, thank you
Were back again, and were plannin on rockin you
Ten times harder than any other crew can
Jeff is like conan, Im like tarzan
In other words, wherever we go
Hahah! were runnin the show, but no
Seriously, its been a while since we dropped one
But its out now, go buy the album
If you bought the last one you know it was krush
But if you didnt man, you must not
Know what youre missin friend
The last album was dope yall, and here we go again!
A lot of people may not have bought the last album
Yo jeff, straight up, we cant allow them
To go out like that, our music is too def
We produce hit records right and left
Daytime, nighttime, def beat, def rhyme
Chorus line, bass drum, snare drum, bassline
All of this makes our records rock til the partys end..
.. here we go again!
When we first came out, we had a smash hit song
Then people started askin, whats takin so long
For yall to put another record out for the airwaves?
I said, hold up - let me explain.
When you hear a record on your radio station
Its probably getting played all throughout the nation
But we got lucky, ours was played in germany
France, japan, sweden london italy
So therefore, we had to go on tour
City after city, encore encore, bravo bravo!
Sorry we gotta go
We got another show tomorrow night in rio
The point Im tryin to make is to let you all know
It takes a long time to travel the globe
But now we gotta start this whole process all over again
The last album was def, and here we go again!
Special thanks, to everyone that helped us
Without you, we would not have been able to sell
As many records, we went top ten
And got real and well do it again
It was a long hard road, believe me
People tryin to steal from me, and deceive me
But thats cool, you live and learn my friends
We did it before, and well do it agaim

I learned a lot from that first record and I learned a lot from my experiences touring, but really the biggest education I got over the past two years was learning the importance of arrangements.
