I don't wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work.

You can do what you want to do, accomplish what you want to accomplish, attain any reasonable objective you may have in mind--not all of a sudden, perhaps not in one swift and sweeping act of achievement--but you can do it gradually, day by day and play by play, if you want to do it, if you work to do it, over a sufficiently long period of time.

Mood Colours
At times, we describe our moods in colours
that pass by our eyes each day.
There are our blue moods,
those when we are down.
Then there are our red moods
whenever our temper flares.
Our black moods are colourless
and the most dangerous of them all.
Our sunshine moods are when the world is golden
and smiles are all we see.
Pink shades our loving moods
and to the world, we show we care
as our love shines through.
Our moods can change quickly
as we pass through the rainbow spectrum
within our daily lives.

Slaves of Food
Thick red blood veins bath in anger
The stomach grumbles in idiotic anger
A taste of food and out springs laughter
Triumphant moods commence again after
And it can be argued
We are all but slaves of food
Digesting away between interludes
Without food the mind is wholly screwed
We consume and wear different costumes
With food for thought and food of all sorts
We eat for the heart until it sets us apart
While the crumbs are often sought by rats
The pleasure one feels after a congested meal
That inner gratifying satisfaction is cheap but real
Toast, eggs and beans and it is work and work
Fruits, wine and cakes and it is talk and talk
Coffee or tea and eyes are conspicuously awake
A turkey roast and sleep is suspiciously at stake
We are all but slaves of food
I conclude with fluctuating moods
There is food for romance
There is food for the fools
Enjoy, eat fast, food never lasts, rewind and preview
Hungry mouths elsewhere regularly wait for its rescue

WorK
Work is never easy
to do or accomplish
Yet many wish for it
As something very light
That don't need burden
In doing a work or two
Yet many wish for it
As a means to gain
That worth a fortune
In doing so little work
Yet many do not realize
That work need not be hard
For as long as you love work
Then it becomes easy to do
For work if done willingly
And with interest that persist
Then it will be the only solution
To obtain a meaningful and fruitful life

Moods For Moderns
Moods for moderns (x4)
I get hit looking for a miss
I never thought that it would come to this
Moods for moderns (x4)
Though we may never be the same again
I am so proud that youve been taken in vain
What if none of your dreams come true?
I can never run from you
Theres never been a how dyou do
Theres never been an ending
Soon youll belong to someone else
And I will be your stranger just pretending
Moods for moderns
Memory lingers
I let you into
Foreign fingers
Moods for moderns (x4)
I never thought that would see the day
I never thought that I would give you away
(chorus)
Moods for moderns
Let them break us
Strong and sudden
Foreign fingers

How Do You Tackle Your Work
How do you tackle your work each day?
Are you scared of the job you find?
Do you grapple the task that comes your way
With a confident, easy mind?
Do you stand right up to the work ahead
Or fearfully pause to view it?
Do you start to toil with a sense of dread?
Or feel that you're going to do it?
You can do as much as you think you can,
But you'll never accomplish more;
If you're afraid of yourself, young man,
There's little for you in store.
For failure comes from the inside first,
It's there if we only knew it,
And you can win, though you face the worst,
If you feel that you're going to do it.
Success! It's found in the soul of you,
And not in the realm of luck!
The world will furnish the work to do,
But you must provide the pluck.
You can do whatever you think you can,
It's all in the way you view it.
It's all in the start you make, young man:
You must feel that you're going to do it.
How do you tackle your work each day?
With confidence clear, or dread?
What to yourself do you stop and say
When a new task lies ahead?
What is the thought that is in your mind?
Is fear ever running through it?
If so, just tackle the next you find
By thinking you're going to do it.
--From "A Heap o' Linin'," by Edgar A. Guest
I tackle my terrible job each day
With a fear that is well defined;
And I grapple the task that comes my way
With no confidence in my mind.
I try to evade the work ahead,
As I fearfully pause to view it,
And I start to toil with a sense of dread,
And doubt that I'm going to do it.
I can't do as much as I think I can,
And I never accomplish more.
I am scared to death of myself, old man,
As I may have observed before.
I've read the proverbs of Charley Schwab,
Carnegie, and Marvin Hughitt;
But whenever I tackle a difficult job,
O gosh! I hate to do it!
I try to believe in my vaunted power
With that confident kind of bluff,
But somebody tells me The Conning Tower
Is nothing but awful stuff.
And I take up my impotent pen that night,
And idly and sadly chew it,
As I try to write something merry and bright,
And I know that I shall not do it.
And that's how I tackle my work each day--
With terror and fear and dread--
And all I can see is a long array
Of empty columns ahead.
And those are the thoughts that are in my mind,
And that's about all there's to it.
As long as there's work, of whatever kind,
I'm certain I cannot do it.

While I Wait
If I'm...
Giving up too much love.
Can I,
Get it back in my time?
Will I have to moan and whine...
While I wait.
Will I find some peace of mind this time,
While I wait.
While I wait...
Should I say anything about me?
While I wait...
Or should I,
Sit and stare?
While I wait.
While I wait.
When I know this 'trip',
Has run out of fare.
While I wait.
While I wait.
Should I say anything about me?
While I wait...
Or should I,
Sit and stare?
While I wait.
While I wait.
When I know this 'trip',
Has run out of fare.
While I wait.
While I wait.
While I wait...
When I know this 'trip',
Has run out of fare.
While I wait.
While I wait.
While I wait.
While I wait.

Airplane
Over the city in an airplane
I can see everything below
The houses they look so tiny
The cars look like dots
Weve only got fifteen minutes to go
The clouds in the sky caress my mind so tenderly
The sun shines down on the great big beautiful scene
The sound of the engine fills my ears up
Im hopin this rainy weather clears up
My lover is waiting at the airport
Soon shell be kissing me hello
The woman sitting next to me tells me bout her guy
And I tell her all about you and i
Airplane, airplane
Carry me back to her side
Airplane, airplane
I need God as my guide
Down, down on the ground
Cant wait to see her face
(a-1, a-2, a-1, 2, 3)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)

Cant Wait
Ive been on this road a long time
Ive been travellin for days
But it seems Im getting nowhere
I just cant find my way
Ive been following directions
But they must be out of date
And I cant, and I cant, and I cant, no I cant
Decide which road to take
See Ive got to find my baby
Cause we need to work things out
Ive got to see that woman
I cannot do without her!
You know I cant wait, cant wait another moment
I cant wait, I cant wait another heartbeat
No I cant wait, cant wait another moment
I couldnt wait another heartbeat
I cant wait until midnight
And the nights go on forever
These days I get no sleep
And I miss her more than ever
Inside where love runs deep
Oh I know Im going to find her
Cause Im following this star
And I cant, and I cant, no I cant turn back
Oh lord, Ive come so far
And Ill know shell whisper in my ear
bout all the things Ive missed
Shes got that way about her now
I never could resist
And now I cant wait, cant wait another moment
No I cant wait, I cant wait another heartbeat
I cant wait, cant wait another moment
I couldnt wait another heartbeat
I cant wait until midnight
No I cant wait
I cant wait another moment
I couldnt wait another heartbeat
I cant wait until the midnight
Now I cant wait
No no no cant wait
No no no
Cant wait
No no no
Cant wait
(repeat and fade out)

I didn't have a teenage or early-20s experience that was free and without worry. I missed the screw-everything, have-a-good-time phase. I was worried that if I didn't stay on track and work, work, work, I was never going to accomplish anything. Now I'm trying to have fun and have the freedom to do nothing.

Work To Do
I cant wait to get home to you
I got so much work to do, work
Im taking care of business baby cant you see
I goota make it for you, and I gotta make it for me
Sometimes it may seem boy Im neglecting you
But Id love to spend more time
But I got so much to do
Ooh, I got work to do, I got work baby
I got work to do, I got a job yeah
I got work to do, said I got work to do
Oh Im out here trying to make it baby cant you see
It takes a lot of money to make it lets talk truthfully
So keep your love light burning
Oh you gotta have a little faith
You might as well get used to me coming home a little late, oh

I got work to do, I got a job yeah
I got work to do, said I got work to do

Out Of Work
8 a.m. Im up and my feet beating on the sidewalk
Down at the unemployment agency, all I get is talk
I check the want ads but there just aint nobody hiring
Whats a man supposed to do when hes down and hes
Out of work
I need a job, Im out of work
Im unemployed, Im out of work
I need a job, Im out of work
I go to pick my girl up
Her name is linda brown
Her dad invites me in
He tells me to sit down
The small talk that were making
Is going pretty smooth
But then he drops a bomb
Son, what dya do ?
Im out of work
I need a job, Im out of work
Im unemployed, Im out of work
I need a job, Im out of work
Hey mr president I know you got your plans
Youre doing all you can now to aid the little man
We got to do our best to whip that inflation down
Maybe you got a job for me just driving you around
Im out of work
These hard times, theyre enough
To make a man lose his mind
Im out of work
Up there you got a job but down here below
Im out of work
I need a job, Im out of work
Im unemployed, Im out of work
I need a job, Im out of work
Im out of work
Im out of work
Im out of work
Im out of work
Im out of work
Im out of work
Im out of work

Bag and Baggages
O You are mine
And I am not yours
Alas,
Bag and Baggages no more.
To wait and watch
is my work.
I am not alone
for this work.
As you see
there is dark.
The prayer I offered
concealed me.
And I turned to violent.
What is good and
What is bad
You to decide
The Sun never set
Until then mind it.

Tongue Tied
Before I spoke
Your voice was moving here
The water safe
This way
That way
I feel his thoughts
Your choice
It's all there
There comes a time to find
Piece of mind
Take some time to let go
'Cos I wanna know
So tongue tied
I can tell what's on your mind
So tongue tied
But I want you by my side
And I wait
And I wait here for a while
Just to see your smile
So tongue tied
I can tell what's on your mind
The day I mean
A sign a world too
To get you back in mine
For a time
The cloudy phase
But I do wanan hear from you
The only one to feel
In a here
You have a mind of your own
And I wanan know
So tongue tied
I can tell what's on your mind
So tongue tied
But I want you by my side
And I wait
And I wait here for a while
Just to see your smile
So tongue tied
I can tell what's on your mind
We appear there is fear
Be right here
So tongue tied
I can tell what's on your mind
So tongue tied
But I want you by my side
And I wait
And I wait here for a while
Just to see your smile
So tongue tied
I can tell what's on your mind

Open a Book
To unfurl the articles of a book
I read fashionably the one I partook.
Craving on the combinations like flowers
Sing aside each other, I gathered powers.
Form a scholarly mind in the bottom of the soul,
To force this is pleasant like the casserole.
You cook a book in suns and moons
That split up and become cartoons.
Moods eject some moods to assist
And are embittered by the checklist.
Instead, open a book by the pages of a book
To mean something or a fact or a look.
