Throughout the whole vegetable, sensible, and rational world, whatever makes progress towards maturity, as soon as it has passed that point, begins to verge towards decay.

When A Maturity Much Needed Is Sought And Begins
All foolishness started between us will end,
When a maturity much needed is sought and begins.
Those games chosen to play,
To protect insecurities...
Needing to be chased away,
Are nothing more than childish pranks.
Overdue for a ridding...
Instead of pursuing them to please,
A mental dysfunction to outdo and out rank.
I've lost all attraction to play games like that.
I will return your calls.
But a tolerance of a nonsense initiated,
I no longer accept at all.
What point is made,
By a charading done to masquerade?
And in these days we live call for a seriousness.
With my desire to continue on like this...
Leaving you behind with the times I will not miss.
All foolishness started between us will end,
When a maturity much needed is sought and begins.

Happiness is possible only to a rational man, the man who desires nothing but rational goals, seeks nothing but rational values and finds his joy in nothing buy rational actions.

Vegetable Man
In yellow shoes I get the blues
Though I walk the streets with my plastic feet
With my blue velvet trousers, make me feel pink
Theres a kind of stink about blue velvet trousers
In my paisley shirt I look a jerk
And my turquoise waistcoat is quite out of sight
But oh oh my haircut looks so bad
Vegetable man how are you?
So Ive changed my dear, and I find my knees,
And I covered them up with the latest cut,
And my pants and socks all point in a box,
They dont make long of my nylon socks,
The watch, black watch
My watch with a black face
And a big pin, a little hole,
And all the lot is what I got,
Its what I wear, its what you see,
It must be me, its what I am,
Vegetable man.
Ive been looking all over the place for a place for me,
But it aint anywhere, it just aint anywhere.
Vegetable man, vegetable man,
Hes the kind of person, you just gonna see him if you can,
Vegetable man.

Prime Mover
Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
Basic elemental
Instinct to survive
Stirs the higher passions
Thrill to be alive
Alternating currents
In a tidewater surge
Rational resistance
To an unwise urge
Anything can happen
From the point of conception
To the moment of truth
At the point of surrender
To the burden of proof
From the point of ignition
To the final drive
The point of the journey
Is not to arrive
Anything can happen
Basic temperamental
Filters on our eyes
Alter our perceptions
Lenses polarize
Alternating currents
Force a show of hands
Rational responses
Force a change of plans
Anything can happen
From a point on the compass
To magnetic north
The point of the needle
Moving back and forth
From the point of entry --
Until the candle is burned
The point of departure
Is not to return
Anything can happen
I set the wheels in motion
Turn up all the machines
Activate the programs
And run behind the scene
I set the clouds in motion
Turn up light and sound
Activate the window
And watch the world go round --
Anything can happen

A World Unimaginable
Every night
I look out
at the universe
through the stars
up in the sky
every ray
that gets reflected
shows me a world
so marvellous below
a world so rapid,
a world so fast,
on a scavenger hunt
selecting the variation
best of all
to be passed on
still every ray
that gets refracted
shows me a world
beyond this one
a world unimaginable
a world contented -
on verge of completion
waiting for inhabitants
from a world elsewhere
a world,
far below!

In the span of my own lifetime I observed such wondrous progress in plant evolution that I look forward optimistically to a healthy, happy world as soon as its children are taught the principles of simple and rational living.

If virtue promises happiness, prosperity and peace, then progress in virtue is progress in each of these for to whatever point the perfection of anything brings us, progress is always an approach toward it.

No rational argument will have a rational effect on a man who does not want to adopt a rational attitude.

Odyssey of the Soul
Childhood falls
Suffocated by lies
Promises of tomorrow
Trade the dreams of today
Consumer chase begins
A little piece of beauty
Sacrificed to adulthood
Wonder, Imagination
Don’t leave me now
Vanishing days
Carelessly slip away
Time and tide dispels
All childlike things
Life becomes dimmer
Too old for fun
Fun is fun it’s ageless
It is just fun, and its free
Maturity, yes maturity
Ever seen the world
Is this maturity?
I must act my age
My spirit rises before me
So many seasons, so much time
Eyes searching for a sign
Doesn’t anyone realise
Mistaken we equate childishness
For the gift of being childlike
Age straps on the chains
We become a worldling
Stolen childhood, silently
Lost Along the way
Childlike observations
Were not meant to wither
Imagination crushed by facts
Dreaming dreams, just dreams
Dreams worth coming true
This too will pass, with age
Who would have thought
walking between rain drops
would become silly
Capturing the frosted
Cobwebs on a twig
restricted to the young
Imagination, imagination
when did it happen
was I distracted
full of self wisdom
unaware that now begins
the oddyssey of the soul
the long trek home
to my Father’s arms

I see no point in
I see no point in
Understanding, as
At the end of it all
I am misunderstood
I see no point in
Visualizing
As in that process
I get drowned in dreams and inaction
I see no point in
Loving
As in its demonstration
I am either hurt or in hatred
I see no point in
Accumulating
As what is accumulated
Makes me its accumulation
I see point in
Teaching
As I am a proven failure
In unlearning
I see no point in
Giving
As I take pride in that
And am made arrogant
I see no point in
Becoming (something)
As I nurse the gnawing
That I am not that yet
I see no point in
Braving
As by that I proved
That I feared something
I see no point in
Praying (for something)
As it amounts to telling
That I am a beggar
I see no point in
Suffering
From something
As I prefer to struggle to overcome
I see no point in
Writing
As I will not be there with you
To say why I wrote this

I Never Thought Of It That Way
I disagree!
I think I happen to be among the few,
Who believes they have succeeded tremendously.
Look around.
Observe.
What do you see?
'I see a waste of human energy! '
Go on...
And?
'I see a breakdown of dignity and self respect.'
And?
'I see a mess!
That's not progress.'
Who's talking about 'progress'?
I'm talking about what they've succeeded to do!
And it had to have been what they wanted...
Or this condition would not exist.
Hey...?
Maybe from their point of view,
We are witnessing THEIR 'progress'.
I never thought of it that way!
Maybe that's why they reject our version of unity!

My Heart
My Heart
Written by Wilfred Charles Mellers, Saturday, August 18,2012
My tongue speaks for she's always the topic
Emotions felt defies all reason and all logic
To me she is the sweetest lyric
Her love is truly magic
She smiles and takes my heart away
Looking at her I could spend my entire day
Thoughts of her makes my emotions run wild
As happy as a lark just because she smiled
When she wrapped up in my arms there's no better sensation
My love for her has no date of expiration
Where does it end, where does it begin?
She gives me something I can truly believe in
So proud I am because she only loves me
A cutie, my beauty for I need her desperately
The ripest vegetable in my garden
For my world she has brighten
Every sentence I write is truly heartfelt
When she laughs it makes my heart melt
My soul cries out for her every second of my existence
For the love of my life I put up no resistance
I cannot live without you
Everything in life reminds me of you
My life begins and ends with you
Only god knows how much I love you

All our progress is an unfolding, like a vegetable bud. You have first an instinct, then an opinion, then a knowledge as the plant has root, bud, and fruit. Trust the instinct to the end, though you can render no reason.

In Need Of a Deep Cleansing
What is not working,
Has long passed the hour...
Of needing to be fixed.
Whether acknowledging this from a pulpit.
Or soliciting self righteous views...
Through politics,
It makes no difference.
What is not working,
Has long passed the hour...
Of needing to be fixed.
A lack of maturity has overstayed its visit.
Reality, truth and one's perceived existence,
Are not all on the same page as steps to correct.
So many are confused,
And accustomed to being mentally abused...
They refused to remove the veil from their eyes.
With wishes to delude their lives as has been undenied,
As few attempts are made to free and adjust...
Most minds fixed upon temptations and lust.
What is not working,
Has long passed the hour...
Of needing to be fixed.
With a need to be 'real' with it!
Whether acknowledging this from a pulpit.
Or soliciting self righteous views...
Through politics,
It makes no difference.
We...
Are in need,
Of a soul searching done...
That affects the success a deep cleansing gets!
We...
Are in need,
Of deep cleansing.

Instinct, Emotional and Rational
The Instinct, the Emotional, and the Rational
Are the stages at which your mind functions,
Together or severally in variant degrees.
Hunger and survival: The Instinct springs.
Love and hate: The Emotional surges.
Right and wrong: The Rational decides.
In the game of chess, you are rational.
In the game of love, you are emotional.
In the game of sex, you are instinctual.
The Rational mind is your judge.
The Emotional mind is your advocate.
The Instinctual mind is your subject.
When judge fails, when advocate fails,
The subject spurts to save the self
Or feeds the self without fail.
The Rational abide by the codes.
The Emotional deviates from it.
The Instinct violates it.
The Rational decides how to face.
The Emotional positions the move.
But the Instinct accomplishes it.
Far sighted is the Rational.
Short sighted is the Emotional.
Blind is the Instinct.
The Instinct reels under the Emotional.
The Emotional trails behind the Rational.
The Rational strives to manage them both.
The child is more under the Instinct.
The adult is more under the Emotional.
The old is more under the Rational.
The Rational lacks vigour.
The Emotional lacks balance.
The Instinct lacks prudence.
The Rational has distant motive.
The Emotional has immediate motive.
The Instinct has instant motive.
Intellectuals are rational.
Poets and lovers are emotional.
The ignorant are instinctual.
The Rational wages cold war.
The Emotional engages in verbal war.
The Instinctual commits physical war.
You are rational in forenoon.
You are emotional in afternoon.
You are instinctual at night.
The Instinctual is skillful.
The Emotional is forceful.
The Rational is careful.
A man and a woman in a tete-a-tete,
They are outwardly rational,
Inwardly emotional and deep instinctual.
In Cricket, a low catch at slip
Is well taken by Instinct and a
Lofty one in long-on, judged and missed.
The Instinct ignites the revolt.
The Emotion fuels it.
The Rational sedates it.
By Instinct you steal.
By Emotion, you weep and laugh.
By Rational, you criticize.
The Instinct feeds your senses.
The Emotion feeds your mind.
The Rational feed your ego.
Love for food and sex is the Instinct.
Love for arts and music is emotional.
Love for fame and name is the Rational.
A man or woman is all of three.
But they will vary in degree.

Never Enough
Seems the world needs a change in its attitude
It doesnt seem like theres much that a man can do
They try to sell the earth on a wild crusade
Then complain about not bein paid
How can some people have the nerve, hell hasnt froze but its on the verge
Its gone way past the point of greed, how many lifetimes will we need
Chorus:
cause its never enough, they keep on takin till they take too much
cause its never enough, it wont be long until they run out of luck
Weve been bought and sold for a thousand years
And all I got to show is a six pack full of tears
And all the while the fat cats they watch from the hill<
Nothins changed, it never has an never will
You better strap on your sharpest spurs
For the ride of your life, cause its gonna hurt
You cant say you didnt ask for this
Its too late to find somebodys ass to kick
Chorus
(instrumental break)
Whos got the money and who gets the rent
By the time its all over, you aint got a cent, hey, hey
How can some people have the nerve, hell hasnt froze but its on the verge
Its gone way past the point of greed, how many lifetimes will we need
Chorus repeats 2x

There will never be peace
As long as
someone can pull out a gun
to shoot someone dead
as long as
someone can dropp a bomb
on some strangers head
there will never be peace
no there will never be peace
in this world
as long as
someone can start a war
based on a pack of lies
as long as
someone ignores the truth
when they look deep in your eyes
there will never be peace
no there will never be peace
in this world
if this is progress
we haven't come too far
if this is progress
we don't know who we are
if this is progress
we are worlds apart
if this is progress
we'd better go back to the start
as long as
someone stabs you in the back
and sticks the knife in good
as long as
someone walks without shame
in streets paved with blood
there will never be peace
no there will never be peace
in this world
