We were a Western civilisation, an English speaking civilisation, both NZ and Australia, and we had all these influences coming from both Great Britain and America to us; sending us their culture in the shape and form of movies and television.

A Way For Love, Peace and Friendship!
How can wars be stopped in the world?
How can love be promoted with peace?
How can friendship be developed among all?
These questions everyone thinks about now;
But what is the way to implement them?
That is the question lingers on forever!
Fighting was based on might in the ancient time;
Now fighting through courts is civilisation here!
Right has become might if you are truthful ever!
Can civilisation stand all tests without culture?
Civilisation sans culture does not stand sure!
Culture inclusive of all aspects needs to be encouraged!
By education culture can be developed everywhere
With the initiative of UNO controlling all nations!

The Japanese keenly learned from Western civilisation in a bid to modernize and preserve the nation.
Had there been no difficulties and no thorns in the way, then man would have been in his primitive state and no progress made in civilisation and mental culture.

Civilisation Or Culture For Good Life?
Best way of living is called culture varying from place to place;
Based on experience knowledge of better living helps a way
To be followed for living a satisfied and lasting life of fun here!
Modern life based on civilisation allows much room for freedom;
But lack of culture only classifies them under gypsy category!
Modern people rely on money believing it as a mark of civilisation
To live independently without giving importance to human beings!
But by the very nature of birth man is incomplete without company
And that makes man live in family rather than alone as an animal
That roams about in search of food and mate to satisfy its needs!
However many go by money to live mechanical life without risks
That helps one as long as health and strength are in good state;
But once they become weak by age and can’t manage alone
They long for love, family and children by their side till the end!

Borne out of this, starting around the 17th Century was the Baroque era. It is my view that it is one of the architectural peak periods in western civilisation.

A Wrong Beat Of Music!
Off beat of music became popular with disco;
A wrong beat of music has come into vogue;
Now any band of music is welcomed for fun!
As in music life also reflects its standard now.
Violence and crimes in society are common now;
The sorry state of affairs points to education finally.
Education without character and discipline has done
All the draw backs we see today everywhere in life!
Civilisation dawned with science and it rules all today;
Education gives importance to science sans humanities
So, civilisation sans culture allows all wrongs go Scot-free
Making human life a farce in the world of technology now!
Reforms of education must pay attention to human values
If human society has to flourish as humans in the future!

In spite of overwhelming evidence, it is most difficult for a citizen of western Europe to bring thoroughly home to himself the truth that the civilisation which surrounds him is a rare exception in the history of the world.

Heed Not!
Heed not the cock-sure tourist,
Seeing with English eyes;
Stroked at the banquet table
Still, with the old stock lies—
Pet of a social circle,
Guest in a garden fair—
Free of the first-class carriage—
He learns no Australia there.
Heed not the Southern humbugs
By the first saloons who come—
From his work in the wide, hot scrub-lands
The Australian goes not home.
Give them the toadies’ knighthood,
Fit for the souls they’ve got;
Fear not to shame Australia
For Australia knows them not.
Heed not the Sydney ‘dailies,’
Naught for the land they do;
Heed not the Melbourne street crowd,
For they know no more than you!
Pent in the coastal cities,
Still on the old-world track—
They know naught of Australia,
Of the heart of the great Out-Back.
But wait for the voice that gathers
Strength by the western creeks!
Heed ye the Out-Back shearers—
List when the Great Bush speaks!
Heed ye the black-sheep, working
His own salvation free—
And Oh! heed ye the sons of the exiles
When they speak of the things to be!

An Utopian Life!
Utopia is where divine life is!
Wars are the hurdles to utopia.
Education should make all gentle;
Socialistic society comes of education.
Democratic value increases by it;
A pluralistic society allows diversity;
Unity in diversity is possible there.
Knowledge based society lives well;
Best of thoughts, talks and deeds is culture;
Civilisation based on that culture is real!
Knowledge and existence are made stable there
Paving the way for love and higher pursuits and
Lead all in the exploration of ultimate reality
And the way to reach the absolute in bliss ever!

Watching You, Watching Me, Watching You, Watching Everyone
So this is Great Britain
A green and pleasant land?
The home of CCTV Camera’s
To get speeding drivers banned
So this is Great Britain
The welfare state, & NHS
Great British Institutions?
Some think they’re in a mess
So this Is Great Britain
That once ruled the waves
An Empire and a Commonwealth?
Now issues ASBO’s if one misbehaves
So this is Great Britain
The Mother of Democracy?
The House of Commons and Lords
Ensuring justice & liberty?
So this is Great Britain
Where God saves the Queen
A land of hope & glory?
You can vote at age eighteen
So this is Great Britain
Are the pensioners in poverty?
They’ve never had it so good?
They’re all having a nice cup of tea
So this is Great Britain
A class system breeding inequality
Education, Education, Education?
Needing a dose of political honesty
So this is Great Britain
Still the mother of the free?
The police, council, & MI5
Are watching you or watching me

The Song Of The New Era
In the midst of silence,
sounds destruction,
the relentless noise of the falling stars.
By the Eiffel tower,
along the Thames, Ganges, Indus, Amazon,
civilisation suffocates.
Intense earthquake
destructs culture and memoirs,
the new day is ushered.

Television.
Television:
Super Vision,
With or without
Supervision.
Far better than
Superstition
Or even
Intuition.
More than a thousand channels:
Discovery,
History,
Biography, Sci Fi, Sky, Virgin....
See South America,
The Himalayas,
China, Australia
And Timbuctoo.
Just about anything,
You can view.
Wildlife,
Space,
Question Time,
Lost.
An education,
Inspiration;
Opening the mind.
Widening horizons.
A boon to all Mankind.
Television.
