Don't be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of.

September Quandary
Thirty days does have September,
But there's one thing I don't remember.
What happened to those eight other months?
I know I must appear a dunce, but…
All this time couldn't pass me by I don't believe,
While I celebrated last year's New Year's Eve.
Then before I could make it to New Year's Day,
Exactly 243 days of this year have passed away.
Never again will this calendar inhibit my sight.
People and experiences will be focused delight.

Puzzling
Calendar with days marked off…
Final day checked…
in blood-red ink marker mean
Then… no more marks…of any sort
The calendar antiseptically… cryptically clean…
Time seemingly now, no longer of import
What was coming, so anticipated…(Or dreaded) …
That the days after… the anointed day
Seemed of no consequence imbedded
Calendar yellowed and tattered
As if time no longer existed…
To a person… like you or me
And to whom days… no longer mattered
Then…Now…and for eternity

A January Fear
A sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
My class is all here
Down to each little sneer
A sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
Those cute little creatures
Have nothing to fear
A sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
Still knowing that teacher's
not entirely all here
A sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
Each little tear
Makes it perfectly clear
A sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
A day off is coming
And hopefully near
a sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
It's harder and harder
Maintaining my leer
A sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
Perhaps my behavior's
becoming quite queer
A sick day a sick day
I'll not make it all year
Perhaps in the morning
I'll call in and cheer
A SICK DAY A SICK DAY
I GOT A PAIN IN MY EAR
Alas...I can hear my principle sneer
With a resigning smirk easy to hear
NO SICK DAY NO SICK DAY
SORRY MY DEAR
NO SICK DAYS NO SICK DAYS
REMAINING THIS YEAR

4 Year Girl
A four year girl i knew
This thing we had of truth
Somehow our spirits where alike
Much had we weathered for each other
The four year girl i knew
Could turn your eye if she smiled
Oh how i loved that girl
When she liked smiling at me
A four year girl i knew
Showed me who she was
Did it hurt you like it hurt me
The trust laid just as deep as the lies?
The four year girl i knew
How could i have been so naive
How could she have fooled everybody
Without telling one lie
A four year girl i knew
I spent four years falling for
And in four days lost the girl
And walked away with a heart
Screaming with pain (for)
The four year girl i knew
Why cant my heart bare the change
Of four years in four days

Sometimes There Is Goo And No Gah
Love is not all goo and gah.
Sometimes there is goo and no gah,
And lots of...
Ugh! Geeessshhh.
Especially that day when one awakens,
To look at a calendar.
Not any calendar!
The one the days have been checked off.
With a little note as a reminder...
'I survived.
How many more of these,
'For Better or For Worse' days I've got to deal with? '
But hang in there.
Some folks are just in it for the wedding ceremony.
After that...
Many more are looking for something else to do.
And finding someone else to do it with too!
~I thought you said you were divorced? ~
And...
Your point is what?
Don't let my youthful glow...
Trouble free lifestyle and happiness fool you.
I have had those days when I overcook my scrambled eggs.
Seriously.
And just the other day,
I abruptly had to end listening to my favorite music.
I ran out of Green Tea.
And I was just at the store.

The Year Of The Rat
A Chinese friend informed me that
This is the astrological year of the rat
Though an animal lover I’ve always been
A year full of rats will cause me chagrin
A pup or a kitten would be more to my taste
Their barks and their mews I’d more easily face
With our two legged rats we seem to prefer
We’ve vermin enough, I think you’ll concur
If we skip over this rat laden calendar year
I don’t believe it would cause too many a tear
But tearful or not, I think we should heed it
That a year full of rats is really not needed

Menstruation At Forty
I was thinking of a son.
The womb is not a clock
nor a bell tolling,
but in the eleventh month of its life
I feel the November
of the body as well as of the calendar.
In two days it will be my birthday
and as always the earth is done with its harvest.
This time I hunt for death,
the night I lean toward,
the night I want.
Well then—
speak of it!
It was in the womb all along.
I was thinking of a son ...
You! The never acquired,
the never seeded or unfastened,
you of the genitals I feared,
the stalk and the puppy’s breath.
Will I give you my eyes or his?
Will you be the David or the Susan?
(Those two names I picked and listened for.)
Can you be the man your fathers are—
the leg muscles from Michelangelo,
hands from Yugoslavia
somewhere the peasant, Slavic and determined,
somewhere the survivor bulging with life—
and could it still be possible,
all this with Susan’s eyes?
All this without you—
two days gone in blood.
I myself will die without baptism,
a third daughter they didn’t bother.
My death will come on my name day.
What’s wrong with the name day?
It’s only an angel of the sun.
Woman,
weaving a web over your own,
a thin and tangled poison.
Scorpio,
bad spider—
die!
My death from the wrists,
two name tags,
blood worn like a corsage
to bloom
one on the left and one on the right—
It’s a warm room,
the place of the blood.
Leave the door open on its hinges!
Two days for your death
and two days until mine.
Love! That red disease—
year after year, David, you would make me wild!
David! Susan! David! David!
full and disheveled, hissing into the night,
never growing old,
waiting always for you on the porch ...
year after year,
my carrot, my cabbage,
I would have possessed you before all women,
calling your name,
calling you mine.

April
[Every tear is answered by a blossom,
Every sigh with songs and laughter blent,
Apple-blooms upon the breezes toss them,
April knows her own and is content.]-Sarah Channing Woolsey
March already gone
and I have come for a short stay.
Then May comes
When I leave quietly,
Likewise, all the months
in the old calendar
come & go?
It's so ridiculous
New year colored calendar peeps again
with big letters like new politicians?
The Headmaster who knows all seasons and the schedule
We're just a heap of pupils in the thatched life-school?

One Year
What's in a year?
We watch it disappear.
Its days go by.
They seem to fly
into the ethers of the past.
A year too swiftly
does not last.
And yet each day within the year
contains within it
every single minute
where your life is resolute
and filled with purpose.
A year is not just calandar days
to be scratched off one by one.
When you do this it's then you find
you miss out on its fun.
In a year one can learn
to appreciate the time you have
to be among the living,
the time you have for giving.
In a year you learn about power
that allows you to fill each hour
with everything you love.
What's in a year?
All things new that can appear,
things you've never given thought to,
things in life you want to do.
Before the year has gone away
see before you each new day
and as the year meets its end
be one who can say
'This year has been my friend.
It gave me solace, gave me peace
and it gave me the chance to release
Pain.

As The Day Goes By
Seven days make a week is a known fact, Seven days in the United State of America, is seven days in the United Kingdom, Seven days in Canada, is seven in Nigeria, Seven days in South Africa is seven days in Liberia, Seven days in Ghana is seven days in Togo A thousand years is like a day before God When you sleep and wake up the next day, you are a day older When you sleep wake up, you are a day older i say It takes the man of understanding to know that he is older than the previous day The day is counting fast The time is counting fast as well The time is ticking like lightening in the sky There is a sharp competition between the day and the time There is a sharp competition between the day and the night There is a sharp competition between the day and the month There is a sharp competition between the day and the year As we getting to the end of the year As we are getting to the end of December As December is fast approaching As December is staring us in the face, As the New Year is fast approaching a day of the following year is not far away from our nose As the day on the calendar stipulates that December closer than we expected As that day fall on December As the day of Christmas sparks like lightening of merrymaking events because of the birth of Jesus Christ As the people rejoice and shout for joy so the daredevil armed robbers, armed to the teeth and body loaded with ammunition's strike their victims leaving sorrow tears and blood Kidnapping increase Ritualist go after their unsuspecting victims I am yet to understand why evil run like tap water in the
mind of people It make my eyes cover in shame, that people are lovers of money rather than their flesh and blood, blood is thicker
than water so they say but when money engulfs the heart of man like tsunami engulfs the land he becomes wild in his thinking like the
lion becomes wild in attacking its prey Money is the root of all evil so also money answereth all things As the days go by, money making evil scheme engulfs the heart of man without having anything to do to that The reason evil continues to grow in the heart of man like a tree with a tap root is yet to be understood It is still a mirage which is yet to be unraveled as the day goes by A day of reckoning is fast approaching, is falling down like the London bridge A day of reckoning is fast approaching, is falling down like a ripe fruit scattering into irreparable pieces which can never be gathered together again The day goes by with evil

Miracle Foot Repair Cream and a large tin till
My beloved bought me a special cream
Out of her fortnight wage!
'Honey you look so frustrated these days
And how far you walked
Looking for a job? '
I read how it works;
'Instantly relieves dry, cracked, itchy, tired achy feet and odors
Safe for use by Diabetics.'
'Darling have you got a soothing cream for my burning heart? '
Then she cried.
I gave her a large tin till from a dollar shop.
'Oh! It's too big and how long it takes to fill? '
'I promise you to stop smoking from the New Year
And definitely fill it soon.
I have a dream since a long time to buy a Passenger Ship
And collect all the Homeless, do a round trip around the World
Not in eighty days, the whole calendar Year!

Counting The Days
Counting the days on the calendar
Strange how they bleed into each other
All that I need
Is a day with you
Pencil me in on your Saturday
Taking my leave
Should I be waylaid please wait for me
On a day with you
Maybe for now an hour will do
Remember my dear this time last year
The sunsets were late and the days were long
And the nights were filled with song
The nights were filled with song
Strolling the street we're strangely complete
Let's stay awake till the morning comes
We don't need anyone
We don't need anyone
Wasting my life at the traffic lights
Getting nowhere
Trapped in the turnstiles
Stay within reach
Of a day with you
Maybe for now and hour will do

Mark Your Calendar
Surrender to the waves
Golden waves from violet hills
Neurotransmitters like vials of life
Make a shrine
Capture a shimmering moment
Validate
Oasis
Take that bike trip
Go sit by a mystic sea
Make love until your strength is gone
Don’t you deserve some magic?
Mark your calendar with some great days

Twenty Days And Twenty Nights
I left my home up in the hill far behind me
I left my wife with unpaid bills, she can't find me
I'm trying out the world for size, find that it's not paradise, it's lonely
Now for twenty days and twenty nights I've been alone
And that ain't right without her
City ways are strange to me, I can't make it
For it's not like it ought to be, I can't take it
Gotta face the truth one day, man can't always run away from trouble
No, now for twenty days and twenty nights I've been a fool
And that ain't right, without her
One day soon I'm going back, where she still minds me
And then out of line and off the track, but that's behind me
I fooled around and did it well, but I just couldn't ring the bell , without her, no
It's taken twenty days and twenty nights to prove me wrong and make her right
Twenty days and twenty nights I was wrong and she was right, all along
Oh, I miss her
Oh, how I miss her, oh how I miss her, oh how I miss her

July comes with her new fancy dress
Dear,
You just born today
And remain only thirty one days
Am I correct?
Of course it's Canada day
And on the fourth
You bring us Independence
Is it true?
Thank you very much July
But it's very sad to hear
As you give us the Independence
And leave so soon.
Never mind, we keep a slight hope
Because you come again in the next year
With a different dress.
How good!
If the life too beautiful
Like a Calendar?

One year a tree day
Oh gently giants
How are you so old?
Calendar after calendar
Shaped from your sacrifice
Crowned producer so cleverly a meal maker
Sun fed in joyous morn, your hazy green unfolds a shady relief
Making most of your day, you silently forge another ring
By evening your clothes are wondrously worn from visible labours
Nay with your resourceful reasoning you shall stitch and recycle whilst rewarding your tiny helper
And in your night, naked and fasting, sipping your mineral (homemade) tipple and
contemplating your next great day......
Our year a tree day
Bare, bud, green, gold
This is how you are so old!

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Written by ralph blane, hugh martin
Have yourself a merry little christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight...
Have yourself a merry little christmas
Make the yuletide gay
Next year all out troubles will be miles away...
Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more
Someday we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then well have to make it through the somehow
So have yourself a merry little christmas now

Pamela
Pamela, due to the philosophical way that we are raised,
The truth is far hidden from us always!
And we've come to worship the Queen of Heaven today.
She is the God-El and,
She has blinded the minds of many!
But Yahweh's mercy is upon the chosen few.
False prophets,
King Numa Pompilius added 'Januarius' and 'Februarius' to the Calendar;
And this was about 713 B.C.
The 'Decemvirs' (10 Magistrates) arranged the Calendar o its present status,
And this was about 451 B.C.;
But the original year beginning from 'Martius' was then changed to 'Januarius'.
Those who have ears and eyes will understand this öpoem oh my sweet Pamela,
For many years have added itself unto things to put us into the darkness;
But the truth will never die out from the earth.
