Sometimes I enjoy just photographing the surface because I think it can be as revealing as going to the heart of the matter.

Let Us Enjoy
Let us enjoy our lives
no matter how humble
that they may be.
Let us enjoy every new day born
no matter how imperfect
that it can be.
Let us enjoy everything
we are given as though
it may be our last.
Let us enjoy all we have
and hold it tightly
as it could so easily fade away.
Let us enjoy each and everything
always remembering
they are God’s gifts to us.

Foreign Tongue
While speaking in a foreign tongue
many challenges are there
that I enjoy.
New culture
new languages
new rules
new way of thinking
make it romantic
that I enjoy.
I enjoy the mistake
I enjoy new experiments
I enjoy new manner of
Speaking writing
that you have.
While speaking
in a foreign tongue
a new way of life
come to the surface
new words new lines
new and new
that we both
enjoy and like.

The Heart of the Matter Is the Heart (Poverty)
My three bed two bath mansion, Cal's old cardboard box
The heart of the matter is the heart
My steak and lobster bisque, Cal's lunch meat sandwich stuff
The heart of the matter is the heart
My wool suits and shiny ties, Cal's best thrift store threads
The heart of the matter is the heart
My nice convertible coupe, Cal's broken and rusted bike
The heart of the matter is the heart
So many with so little, So many with so much
The heart of the matter is MY heart

Initial Attraction
What lies beneath the surface smile?
which you display to everyone?
The mask you wear to be in style.
What lies beneath is yours alone.
Does it indicate interest?
What lies beneath the surface smile?
And will I perhaps pass the test
enjoy your company for a while.
Is it a sign of practiced guile?
or simple act of self defence.
What lies beneath the surface smile?
Must I rely on my sixth sense?
My need to know grows more intense
I am prepared to wait awhile
to try and gain your confidence.
What lies beneath the surface smile?

You Can't Walk Away From Love
Here I am before you
Naked in your eyes
Hoping with each kiss
You will never see through my disguise
I have been made to believe
That no one could love me for me
The good and the bad
First to the last
No matter the cost
No matter the past
Your eyes only see what they wanna see
Your heart makes the truth what you want to believe
Passion turns pain into ecstasy
You can't walk away from love
Loving you more than I do myself
Revealing the things I would never tell
Daring to risk even life itself
You can't walk away from love
There will be no other
Lips against my skin
No need to regret
How can pleasure ever be a sin
I tried to make you believe
You meant almost nothing to me
Through all the lies
Chasing a dream
Finding at last
The woman in me
Your eyes only see what they wanna see
Your heart makes the truth what you want to believe
Passion turns pain into ecstasy
You can't walk away from love
Loving you more than I do myself
Revealing the things I would never tell
Daring to risk even life itself
You can't walk away from love

Look What Loves Revealing
The sweetest smile
The shyest kiss
Two wounded hearts
Were not expecting this
Chorus:
Look what loves revealing
Something to believe in
Time to start the healing
For you and me
Look what loves revealing
Promises for keeping
Its natural as breathing
Look what loves revealing
Willing to trust
Well make it through
You reach for me
And find me reaching too
Repeat chorus
Its natural as breathing
Look what loves revealing

The Heart Of The Matter
Real love is the only thing I know
Teh changes of everything at touches
It gets you and its gentle clutches
But thats not really the heart of the matter
Everbody, every now and then
Well say that they can use
Some side of two
Even though youre setting
Kind of roam
Thats not really the heart of the matter
I think Im really the heart of the matter
Isnt it natural going away to think Ill be alone
I think of you
Your love for me is gone
I think thats really the heart of the matter after all
Darling, I know every now and then
Some nights I lay really easy on my mind
You might hold your billow in my cry
Thats not the heart of the matter

Thanks for Photographing me
thanks for photographing me
because it puts a perspective to me
my sense of things, my face, my smile
and i love the black and white because
they give that extra dimension colours
could never do, a dimension the world
could actually sink into to help our mind
focus on the realities of things, a hand,
a diamond, a lip, a cluster of tears and love
your mind helps define the relationships
they become so much closer to you
thanks for photographing me
because it puts a perspective into me
perspectives that otherwise are eaten up
by the passage of time, and the nonchalance
of the world and my own senses of myself

eroticism, you and I
eroticism is just the surface
the skin where i pierce
and make the necessary
entrance to your
heart to the bone of
my feelings, and if you
allow it
i may find myself
living in there: your heart
my love, our only dwelling.
you must let me pass the surface
so i can get inside
your eternity

You'll Be In My Heart
[Talking]
I gotcha
I'll be right here
You listen
[Singing]
Come stop your crying
It will be alright
Just take my hand
Hold it tight, now
I will protect you from, all around you
I will be here DONT you cry
For one so small
You seem so strong, now
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm, This
bond between us
Can't be broken
So im gonna be here dont you cry
Cuz
[Chorus]
You'll be in my heart,
You'll be in my heart,
From this day on,
Now and forever more,
(for more.. na na na na..
ha ha.. come on.. yea)
WHY cant they understand the way we feel,
THEY just don't trust what they cant explain,
I know we're different,
But deep inside us,
We're not that different AT ALL,
[Chorus]
(You'll) You'll be in my heart,
See you'll be in my heart,
(From this day) From this day on,
(Ohh) Now and forever more (FOREVER MORE)
From this day on forever more, YOU'LL BE
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be, you'll be right here in my heart (Always)
Always (Always, Always, Always)
Dont listen to them
Cuz what do they know?
We need each other
To have, to hold
They'll see in time
I KNOW
WE'LL SHOW THEM TOGETHER
(YOU'LL BEEEEE)
You'll be (IN MY HEART) in my heart
(I'll always be there)
You'll be in my heart
(You know that) From this day on
Now and forever more
(You'll) You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say (No matter, no matter what they say oooh)
You'll be right here in my heart (No matter oh no matter)(always)-ac

You Matter To Me
Look up, the sky is crying
Endless tears
Feels like my whole worlds dying
It hurts when youre not here
cause you matter to me and thats why
You still matter to me
And thats the only reason I need, to get by
You still matter to me, yes you do
I aint no good at talkin
So girl Im tellin you straight
My heart feels just like an orphan
I hope Im not too late
cause you matter to me and thats why (and thats why)
You still matter to me
And thats the only reason I need, to get by
You still matter to me, yes you do
If I could have just one wish
Id stand you in my place
Then youd know how much I miss you
Youll never be replaced
cause you matter to me and thats why (and thats why)
You still matter to me
And thats the only reason I need, to get by
You still matter to me, yes you do
You still matter to me
And thats the only reason I need, to get by
You still matter to me, yes you do
cause you matter to me, yes you do
And thats the only reason I need, to get by (get by)
cause you matter to me, aint no lie
And thats the only reason I need, to get by (get by)
cause you matter to me, yes you do
And thats the only reason I need, aint no lie

My Special Friend
You have grown on me
Do you know that
As a matter of fact
I truly enjoy you
At first I didn't realize it
But now I see
It's a pleasure
To hear from you
In the morning
I enjoy the way
That we laugh
We are so open
With one another
You are like a brother
The moments we spend
Together are truly
A treasure
Our friendship is a gift
It gives my spirits
A big lift
No matter the distance
It seems that we
Are close
Like next door almost
You are a wonderful friend
I am happy with my choice
You are my homie
My boy
God blessed me
With you
For that I rejoice
Hoping that this
Will not end
You are my special friend

Does It Matter To You
Does it matter to you if God's house is empty and dark?
Do you care it people sleep under a bridge, or in the park?
Is your heart touched by those who have less?
You've got yours. You're comfortable, and blessed
Does it matter to you if children don't understand
Why we're too busy to lend them a hand?
When children kill children, we're all sad
Why didn't we reach them before they went bad?
When children have children, they think it's cool
But why didn't we teach them the rules?
We all do our own thing, and enjoy it, too
But when our own thing causes problems, Does It Matter To You?

Surviving The Life
Words and Music by Neil Diamond
Surviving the life, got some highs, got some lows,
but the wise man, he knows what it's really about.
When you're doin' without, surviving the life.
Providing the soul, it ain't easy to do
when you got to get through any way that you can.
Join the fam'ly of man providing the soul.
Pass the plate that serves it,
ev'ry heart deserves it; you and me, we do.
Life ain't easy, but it ain't that bad.
Sing the song that tells it, praise the man that sells it;
you're alive, you might as well be glad.
Revealing the heart, you know that some people try
but it's hard to get by without giving a thing.
You only get what you bring, revealing the heart.
Pass the plate that serves it,
ev'ry heart deserves it'; you and me, we do.
Life ain't easy, but it ain't that bad.
Sing the song that tell it, praise the man that sells it;
you're alive, you might as well be glad.
Providing the soul, revealing the heart, surviving the life

Open Your Heart
And when it hurts you know
They love to tell you
How they warned you
They say dont be surprised
At someones lies
They think they taunt you
But if you can stand the test
You know your worst is better
Than their best
And so you stand here
With the years ahead
Potentially calling
With open heart
Or with a spirit dead
You walk on
Lies the reason
Faith or treason
Playing a part
End concealing
Try revealing
Open your heart
Dare to feel
Take the chance
Make the deal
Being an island
Shying from trying
Seems the easy way
Such an easy way
But theres no future
Without tears
Lies the reason
Faith or treason
Playing a part
End concealing
Try revealing
Open your heart
But if you can stand the test you know your worst is better than their best lies the reason
Faith or treason
Playing a part
End concealing
Try revealing
Open your heart

A Diverse Rule
It does'nt matter to me
If your straight or gay
It does'nt matter to me
If your led astray
Who cares if your from Monterey
The frisco Bay
Carmel by the sea
Just believe in me
Can't you see that I'm in you
And you in me
Can't you see I won't change
So just let me, be me
People called me crazy
Because I drank to much
People called me insane
Never used my brain
I had my D.U.I
Yah! dammit, I did get high
Legal or not
I ripped that sack
Toked up all that pot
Damn near had a heart attack
I may as well run
For some political office
New ideas are starting to surface
They can't run this country
So let us
With these final words
I must be relieved
You are my friend
I will not have
A bitter end
