Why to censor

The world is one.
One can go anywhere
as per sweetwill.
Why to censor?

It is the right of
everybody to express
views and news.
Why to censor?

One can eat drink
walk sleep as per
his conveniences
Why to censor?

Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need judges who 'get it!' We need judges who understand what discrimination feels like. We need judges who understand what inequality feels like. We need judges who understand the subtleties of unfair treatment and who are willing to call it out when they see it!

In England the judges should have independence to protect the people against the crown. Here the judges should not be independent of the people, but be appointed for not more than seven years. The people would always re-elect the good judges.

Streets Of Little Italy

(robbie seidman)
Producer for bonnie: desmond child
The narrow and the winding ways
The streets of old new york
The families, the street life, the spark
The rooftop where we watched
San gennaros festival
Masquerades in the dark...
On the streets down in little italy
Where the past goes on and on forever
And I feel it ever present
In every step I take alone
On the streets down in little italy
The oceans and the years
That separate our lives
From these streets we once called our home
Those distances of space and time
How strong they are
And how weak they are...
On the streets down in little italy
Where the past goes on and on forever
And I feel it ever present
In every step I take alone
On the streets down in little italy
Does the morning sunlight
Still hit the bed where we used to lie
Do the sidewalk stands and markets still overflow
Where I lingered till I was empty
Where I stayed till I had to go
Though in the night
Sometimes I see you disappear
Down cobblestones...
On the streets down in little italy
Where the past goes on and on forever
And I feel it ever present
In every step I take alone
Like your presence in my bones
On the streets down in little italy

Death of Their Realities

Where are they?
All of them are late.

'We left them arguing,
With the psychiatrists! '

About what?

'They insist upon a cure.
Demanding it!
They've been conditioned to believe,
Anything is possible! '

But they are going to miss the funeral.
And soon we will leave for the burial ceremony.

'They are in denial.
Not one of them will listen.
They have refused to put down their weapons.
And hold the psychiatrists and everyone in the building,
As hostages!
The Chief of police has already declared the area as 'toxic'!
And even he is at a loss.
This has never been encountered before.
He now regrets his being the grand marshall,
At the last parade when he appeared as The Wizard of Oz.'

It is unfortunate they can not accept,
The death of their realities.

'Yeah...
This looks as if it will be a very long standoff.
They request an appearance of Superman,
Since many of them say they have proof...
They are citizens visiting from Gotham City.'

Caesar Redivivus

In the olive groves of Italy
Men minds are all aflame;
For the war-lust spreads thro' Italy,
Where war-lords call the game.
And they dream of Roman legions
And the glory that was Rome's;
Yet reck not of the misery
That stalks Italian homes.

By the vine-clad hills of Italy
Men talk and dream of war;
Of the triumphs that were Caesar's,
And the glories known of yore.
But a mockery of triumph,
And an end to dreaming vain
Comes to victor, as to vanquichsed,
With a counting of the slain.

Oh, the women-folk of Italy,
They give their sons to Mars;
For they would be Spartan mothers,
Dams of splendid avitars.
But the fever shall be ending
In numb grief and shuddering fears,
When the spurious pearls of victory
Dissolve in women's tears.

In the pleasant land of Italy
The fever runs apace,
And the man who would be Caesar
From war's lesson turns his face.
With dreams of olden Empire
Would he set men's minds aflame,
Nor count the cost to Italy
In agony and shame.

Who Should Receive More 'Patience' Than They Get?

Solicited advice given that later offends,
Grown men and women
Makes it a bit easier to express compassion,
For their children who lack discipline.
But are into fads and questionable fashions.

When it becomes understood,
From whom they have received their lessons taught...
With a displaying to quickly disrespect.
Children raised by those limited...
Are not regarded as investments to protect.

Who clearly is the victim?
Should not be a question anyone should guess.
It is obvious who's mind has been compromised.
And who should receive more patience than they get.

'Well...
Who should receive more 'patience' than they get? '

Teachers.
Police.
And those who preach about responsibilities.
And of course...
Those who are appointed to be psychiatrists,
By the judges making decisions,
After hearing these mental cases heard...
With no ending to them in courts.

~We will take a thirty minute recess.
That should be enough time to allow me,
To spend a few moments with my own psychoanalyst.~

Sour Grapes for M lady Tara

Sour grapes
Crysanthemums flamboyantly
display their multicoloured hues.
Each blossom is potentially
a winner though it is hard to choose.
This is the task the judges face
and all three judges must agree.
Which one of them deserves first place.
Decisions made collectively.
At last the winner is declared.
Against which there is no appeal
they have debated and compared.
Without a doubt the judges feel.
That their decision was correct
unlike the losers I suspect.

Lands Far Away

One eye is made for gathering juice from a peach,
This peach called England, and not Italy.
They roll these eyes, as if goers of lands far away
Result in boredom for themselves, like Italy and Spain.
They roll their arms and strut on their legs,
Both of them caught inside tough weight of fruit and flesh.
One other eye has contacted the Brain, as far as the lane,
And what can inspire us into dreams
As much as sleep?
The English weather has a rainy day, an answer to question,
Then given over a Sunday lunch.
They go to Italy or Spain if tired, yet resent the art of going.
Go all to the beaches of Spain, or all go away.

The Censor

The Censor sits behind his desk,
And smiles a censored smile;
His great, blue pencil hovers o'er
Some masterpiece awhile,
Then swoops - oh, child of whose poor ravished brain?
Coldly another innnocent is slain!
The Censor is a murderer.
None knows his secret lair,
Nor all the dark and awful deeds
He does in ambush there.
No eye has seen his charnel-house - it's floor
With literary corpses littered o'er.

The Censor is a crocodile.
Beneath that slimy flood,
The Waters of Oblivion,
He seeks his livelihood.
His gloating eye marks children of my pen;
He draws them under from the sight of men.

The Censor is a nibbling mouse.
The fair cheese of my mind
He rifles till there's nothing left
But atmosphere and rind.
That fair, round cheese, formed lovingly by me,
From milk of thought and curds of poesy.

The Censor is an elephant.
With large, ungainly feet
He dances on the glad, green fields
I sowed in toil and heat,
Till all the fairest flow'rs of thought are slain,
And only unaesthetic weeds remain.

The Censor is the Fiend of Storms.
Upon the Inky Sea,
In fear, my poor, frail craft I launch;
Then, with unholy glee,
He makes the winds tear howling through the shrouds,
And sends fork'd death and shipwreck from the clouds.
The Censor is a sorceror.
Above rare fruits that grow
Upon the tree of genius
His hand waves to and fro.
Hey, Presto! And their lusciousness is slain -
Apples of Sodom, Dead Sea Fruit remain.

The Censor is a hooded snake
That lurks within the grass,
And rears to sink his poison-fangs
In heedless babes that pass
Dear Children of my brain; wee, tender things,
That sink and swoon and perish when he stings.
And still he is a gentleman;
This much I will admit.
In 'Correspondence Columns' he
Seeks not to air his wit;
On shrinking backs he lays no caustic stripe,
Nor stoops to call our Masterpieces 'tripe'!

A Taste For Truth!

I speak the truth I discover
In Self, world, Nature, Universe, God…
I express truth in poetry I explore
In Arts, woman and Nature.
I intellectually analyse truth I experience
In life, work, interactions, the incidences…
I philosophise over truth I observe
In experience, books, others….
I ponder over truth I notice
In experiment, observation, inference…
I infer the truth I analyse
In experiment, experience, observation….
I intellectually love truth I search for
In news, stories, articles, etc.
