In my house
You enter a room to see a park
You close a door only to be led to another stairway
Leading you to another room with nothing but windows
You close a window the rest remains open
You close the windows and another door
In that park in the room where you just entered
Opens
Then you are confused about the roof that opens
To a river to the rocks where another door opens
To a wall with trees and birds and butterflies
This is weird you say, this is really weird
Then from the garage comes a wind that blows
Its horn like a car
I have just arrived offering you an explanation
For all these mess, these uncertainties, these self-made
confusions.

A Need For Redemption
the world opens a door
lets you in
makes you feel at home
and gives you love
and you give it children
it wants itself
populated and that is
what it only
wants from you and once
the progeny are
there the reality comes
in batches of
sorrows and
regrets and then the world
having taken what it
wants from you, soon,
excludes you
it closes the door
takes away air, chokes you
and then
you are gone for good
the world opens its doors
again
to populate itself with
innocent people
fooled into desire and lust
and then
finally expurgated into
the depths of
hell.

When The Lord Closes The Door
(kinky friedman & jeff shelby)
When i find myself alone in my house and in my head
And i blow the candles out and i take myself to bed
And i'm old enough to realize, ah, young enough to know
When the lord closes the door, he opens a little window.
When sleep closes my eyes and sends me searching for you
And i'm feelin' blue as the sky without your love to carry me through
And i'm weak enough to be afraid but strong enough to let it show.
When the lord closes the door, he opens a little window.
Baby i'm a gypsy boy, i'll ride the night until
I come to you like moonlight through your raggle-taggle window sill.
When you find yourself alone in your house and in your head
And you blow the candles out and you take yourself to bed
And you're old enough to realize, ah, young enough to know
When the lord closes the door, he opens a little window.

When I Sleep
When I sleep
Where do I go
I go where
The Blue bird
Is red
Where
Red
Is
Blue
In the head
And the door
Opens on
A red sky
When I sleep
Where do I go
I go where
There is no where there
And the door
Have eyes
To see
Its opening
When I open
My sleep
I am there
Where I am not
And blue drops
Into a red pool
When I sleep
All my theres
Open in the head
And the door
Is blue
And new
And opens nightly
To a where
When I loose
Myself
To all my
Blues and reds
You may think
That I am dead
In my head
But I am much
Alive
When I sleep
Where do I go
I fain not to know.

Honest Men
Were just a stones throw
From burning hellfire
Does anybody know,
Where did all the heroes go?
Weve had our fill of
This gallery of scoundrels,
The leaders of the world,
Those power hungry liars
Rise up and sound the sirens,
Send out the searching powers,
All we need is a few good men
Send the s.o.s. and red alerts
All across the universe
Calling your honest men?
S.o.s. emergency,
Sinking fast and getting worse.
Wheres your honest men?
In some village, far away,
Or in a little town pub.
High on a mountain top
There must be an honest man
Calling all honest men
Throw out the tyrants,
The aged fat cats
Outlived their usefulness
They have led us to this mess
Make them answer,
Hold them to their promises,
And throw them in the street
If they wont tell the truth
S.o.s. and red alert
All across the universe,
Calling all honest men
S.o.s. emergency,
Sinking fast and getting worse,
Wheres your honest men?
To your stations,
Man the ramparts,
The barricades
We need new heroes urgently
We need a few good honest men
Calling all honest men
Calling all honest men
Call to him
He lives next door,
Across the street
On the upper floor.
Its our only hope we need him now
Send the s.o.s. and red alert,
All across the universe,
Calling all honest men
S.o.s. emergency,
Sinking fast and getting worse,
Wheres your honest men
Strike a blow,
Save the ship,
We need a few good honest men
Calling all honest men
Calling all honest men
Calling all honest men
S.o.s. across the universe
Wheres your honest
We need your honest
Calling all honest men
Calling out all over the world,
Wheres your honest men
Looking out all over the world,
We need your honest men

The Silent Hardworker
he arrives
one hour before the desired time
opens the door himself
without his aide
opens his computer
and tunes in for
some jazzy music
then to something
classical
he goes to the sofa
takes the pillow
and lays his head and
then he closes his eyes
this he does
privately inside
his office.

The Black Bird Winging Its Way Inward
that early morning
the door opens and you
hear the rush of steps
going out of the house
the gate opens and
closes once again
and you
find yourself enclosed
in your freedom
of thought again
transforms into a black
bird
stretching its wings
to the breasts of dawn
and then
without so much hesitation
fly away again.

One stop shopping; A Nightmare
A man simply waiting outside for the right moment till the electronic door opens.
But it's a public holiday and he knows nothing about holidays
As he's nearly senile.
He holds a chit prescribed by a famous doctor who practices in a lunatic asylum.
He waited there until tomorrow
And when the door opens he rushed inside.
He gave the prescription to the counter.
'I am sorry the capsules named 'Happiness' is out of date Grandpa!
But I can provide you a substitute named 'Sadness' a sugar coated pill.' A young salesgirl said.

When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.

Hearts Door
I knock on your hearts door
and the sign says 'don't disturb.'
'
I slip a note over the transom
and its floats back 'undeliverable.'
I sleep outside your hearts door,
day and night,
my ear cupped to hear rustlings.
I've rehearsed what I'll say if the door opens.
You'll take me in your arms.
I'll knock every day on your hearts door.
I'll sit.
I'm patient
I am not going any where.
I wait,
outside your heart's door
because
one day
it will open
and my soul
will stare into
your soul
and melt there.
Just you wait
you'll see.

Buddha Thoughts (Every Flower)
for every flower that opens,
a hawk kills a rabbit.
for every bushel of corn,
another child starves.
for every bullet fired,
another mother weeps.
for every coming of dawn,
another face is forgotten.
for every hand extended,
another door closed.
for every prayer prayed,
a homeless family waits.
for every flower that opens...

THIS THING called discrimination
it is when you walk together
with someone you barely know
towards a place
where there is a door still closed
to open at 9 a.m.
and both of you wait
for the right hour
and then the right hour comes
and a strict lady opens the door
carries a folder and calls out a name
just her name
and she smiles at her
and she smiles at her too
and then she lets her in and
she looks at you
without any civility
and she closes the door and
you do not see anymore
what is going inside the room
something so private
the door tells you that
you feel the pain
and yet you are not leaving still
i am telling you
you're the craziest Asian that i have ever known
in this whole cruel white world.

Honest
Who will leave your bed this morning?
Who will be the one
To leave you now amidst adoring light
Cause it feels right?
Who will be the one
To leave you as tomorrows dawning?
And though Im asking, please dont give specifics
Im so unterrifically honest
Who will hold your door this evening?
Who will be the one
To steal the smile through shining candlelight
Cause it feels right?
Who will be the one
To leave you as tomorrows dawning?
Im not trying to be scientific
Im not trying to be anything at all
But this chemistry just turns me
Turns me terribly honest
Honest
Who will leave your bed this morning?
Will he be the one
Who snuffs the smile that once had shined so bright?
Are you alright?
Will he be the one
Who leaves you as tomorrows dawning?
Im not trying to be sympathetic
Im not trying to be anything at all
But this storys happened to me
And its turned me terribly honest
Honest

Why Did God Close That Door?
He closed the door
and touches you but
you do not understand
why.
You silently cry.
He hears it.
You still do not understand
why that door is closed.
Until you find smoke
in the sky
Until you hear about
the dead people
in the room
Now you know why He kept
on closing the door
And here is one that He
opens for you
He says Welcome
This is the home reserved for you
Beloved.
Inside it is a garden
Flowers bloom

She Knows When Youre On My Mind
She knows shes holdin someone who dont love her
She knows shes where you could have been
She knows I turn to her because you turned me down
And she knows when youre on my mind again
Every night she opens up the door to heaven
But when youre on my mind I cant go in
And you come runnin through my mind and I let my memory chase you
She knows when youre on my mind again
Sometimes late at night I hear her crying
She turns to me but you wont let her in
She knows the door is locked but she keeps trying
She knows when youre on my mind again
Every night she opens up the door to heaven
But when youre on my mind I cant go in
And you come runnin through my mind and I let my memory chase you
She knows when youre on my mind again

The Only Way
Jesus Christ is the Only Savior
He died for us sinners all
God's Only Son, our Redeemer
Forgiving those to Him who call
For He alone did shed His blood
Up there on the Cross at Calvary
He gave His life, the Way to God
To save all men like you and me.
He knocks today at your heart's door
And to anyone who lets Him in
His loving Grace to him He'll pour
Forgiveness, Love, shall reign within.
'Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.'

Spring For Some
Man in Market Town
It is a big door shiny white and wide, isn't
used much, twice a day when he goes out
shopping and when returning; if anyone
rings the door bell it is usually the gas man.
There are times when he opens the door at
night going to a bar or to buy love bought
and consumed in cheap hotel rooms; a need
that leaves him ashamed and gloomy.
There is a knock on the door of memories, he
gets up look out of the window, it's a brilliant
day and he hears eager steps on pavements,
like someone dancing Argentinean tango.
To be old in November is not so bad, he tells
himself, he can be in and play Elvis's old vinyl
records on his gramophone, but to be seventy
a day in May, man, that makes the soul cry.

Inward
you shall listen to the voices of the young
the buds have their own kind of songs
that makes you see the past of the roots
you shall disregard the murmur of the stones
the present predicament that you are in
when will you give up being hard on yourself?
stone upon stone
boulder upon boulder
you have crushed what softness is left
on the soil of your birth
there is another way
take what light offers us sometimes
a little warmth
that enlightenment that opens the eyes
of the heart
the path inward
that opens the door of our
souls
