I vividly remember bowling 20 + games a day, 2 or 3 times a week.

Living in Bowling Green (Ghazal)
Excuse me, but my favorite color isn’t green
Even though I live in the city of Bowling Green.
In its history the people played such lively games.
On many sunny days their fun was bowling on the Green.
In his boyhood here there lived a man named Duncan Hines.
One day you might find his colored cakes in Irish green.
Oh yes, this city is the home of the car Corvette.
If it pleases you, you can own one painted blue green.
The school my son attended here was Bowling Green High.
His closest friend in French class was Emily Green.
About once a week I visit our Bowling Green Mall.
There you can plainly see its signs printed all in green.
With pollution and economy the way they are,
I am happy to see the city still going green.

I'm aware of what kids like because I'm constantly in touch with them. Also, they say that a lot of people who write for children can remember their own childhoods vividly and I can remember my childhood very vividly.

Umina Bowling Club
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than bowling right up to the friendly bowling club
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than dropping in for just a drink or some good grub.
Behind the bar you’ll find our Suzy, Linda and Michelle
When you come in you’ll get a welcome and a smile as well
And if the mood should ever take you to the pokie room
There’s all the games that might just make your fortune very soon.
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than bowling right up to the friendly bowling club
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than dropping in for just a drink or some good grub
On Thursday nights the club is packed when bingo starts at four
And Friday concerts – there’s no extra charges at the door
Our raffles too, they need an extra special mention
Its your happiness that’s our intention.
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than bowling right up to the friendly bowling club
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than dropping in for just a drink or some good grub.
Now, when leaving, should you think you’re over the limit
We’ve got a bus that takes you home – no paying for a ticket
So if you’re young or if you’re old or somewhere in between
Just come along, join up with us and find out what we mean.
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than bowling right up to the friendly bowling club
There’s nothing that’s finer when you are in Umina
Than dropping in for just a drink or some good grub.

Time Has Provoked Insensitivities
I remember vividly those times,
Of innocent minds.
And the caring done...
By neighbors and friends.
It seemed as if everyone had an interest,
In each other back then.
A shifting of priorities,
Has left these qualities behind.
And time has provoked insensitivities.
With faith and trust diminishing into disgust.
In isolation we perceive no one can be believed.
Leaving us to feel abandoned without empathy.
I remember vividly those times,
Of innocent minds.
And the caring done...
By neighbors and friends.
It seemed as if everyone had an interest,
In each other back then.
Until the onslaught of progress...
Has left most feeling hopelessly digressed.
And suspicious of anyone expressing friendliness.
As we reject that quicker,
Than the addressing of deception few bother to question.

I think a new, different kind of bowling should be 'carpet bowling.' It's just like regular bowling, only the lanes are carpet instead of wood. I don't know why we should do this, but my God, we've got to try something

Remember The Time
Do you remember
When we fell in love
We were young
And innocent then
Do you remember
How it all began
It just seemed like heaven
So why did it end?
Do you remember
Back in the fall
Wed be together
All day long
Do you remember
Us holding hands
In each others eyes
Wed stare
(tell me)
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
When we first met
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
Do you remember
How we used to talk
(ya know)
Wed stay on the phone
At night till dawn
Do you remember
All the things we said like
I love you so
Ill never let you go
Do you remember
Back in the spring
Every morning birds would sing
Do you remember
Those special times
Theyll just go on and on
In the back of my mind
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
When we first met girl
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
Those sweet memories
Will always be dear to me
And girl no matter what was said
I will never forget what we had
Now baby
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
When we first met
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
When we first met
Do you remember the time
When we fell in love
Do you remember the time
Remember the times
Ooh
Remember the times
Do you remember girl
Remember the times
On the phone you and me
Remember the times
Till dawn, two or three
What about us girl
Remember the times
Do you. do you, do you,
Do you, do you
Remember the times
In the park, on the beach
Remember the times
You and me in spain
Remember the times
What about, what about...
Remember the times
Ooh... in the park
Remember the times
After dark..., do you, do you, do you
Remember the times
Do you, do you, do you, do you
Remember the times
Yeah yeah
Remember the times

In Certain Matters of the Heart
It's a matter of the heart,
the doctor says,
and he can fix it
with catheter ablation.
'It works miracles, ' he says,
'in certain matters of the heart.'
He's been a cardiologist for years.
'Take my word for it, ' he says.
'You'll be sedated. Won't feel a thing.'
No excavation in my chest, either.
Instead, he'll make little holes
in my groin and snake tiny wires
to the surface of my heart
and kill the current that makes
my heart race like a hare
at times and mope
like a turtle other times.
He's never lost a patient.
'You'll be fine, ' he says.
'Trust me.'
Nine out of 10 ablations work.
I'll save hundreds a month, he says,
on medications. No more Multaq.
No more Cardizem. And I'll never
have to wear a heart monitor again.
'Shall we give it a try? ' he asks.
'I've got an opening
two weeks from Monday.
It's an outpatient procedure.
You'll go home the same day,
rest for a week and then resume
your usual activities, even bowling.
Do you like bowling? My nurses do.
I prefer woodcarving.'
'Okay, Doc, ' I tell him.
'I'll give it a try, but tell me,
where were you 40 years ago
when the kids were small
and I was young, like a bull,
and a different matter of the heart
dropped me like a bullet.
Are you sure my heart's still ticking?
Where's your stethoscope?
I haven't felt a thing in years.'

Imagining the Reunion
How long have I been here
A day
A week
I've forgotten what you look like.
How, when we were together
You
and
Me
What was it that you use to say
To get me to laugh that way?
Can you remember?
Nope
Not
Me.
How was it you would look at me
And
I
Understood.
Every day brings something new
And, so does every week.
So, now,
How are you?
Anything new at all?
Me,
I'm not the same person.
I've mended some
From our fall.
The bruises don't bother me
Or the pain
Anymore.
I'm numb now..
And dull now,
And weary of another fall.
So, tell me
What ails you?
Why did you decide to call?
Yea, well, we all wish at times
Things could be different.
But, what's the point of it all?
Can
You
Remember?
Because I managed to forget.
Are you serious
When you ask me
If there are any regrets?
How long have I been here
Not
Too
Long
It sometimes seems..
But what are years to someone
Who is come undone
At the seams.

Remember When
Remember when I was young and so were you
And time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when
Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when
Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when
Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookin' back, it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when
Remember when
Remember when

SO my dear where have you been?
you don't remember the ripple of the river
it does not remember any
you or me, we are even on this matter
so you are searching for the games that children play
while their fathers are fighting the war
while their mothers wait for the bad news
there are so many
but i will not tell you their names for now
in fact i think you all know these
but you just don't want to remember
i can remember
but let me tell you about those games later
meanwhile let me write
about those who are dead and those who play dead
those who are through and those who are just beginning
it does not matter
there is nothing to be serious about
let all these go
like what i once told you
like the ripples of the river
scarlet from the top and deep red at the bottom
you know the smell
now you must remember

remember
remember the times
we laughed together
thinking our friendship
would last forever.
remember the times
we cried all day
thinking we all
had something to say
remember the times
we talked all night
and watched the sun
produce it's own light.
remember the times of our lives
all the memories we shared together
we will always remember as us
being...

Who
Every minute passes by
You're always talking
Makes me cry
Finding out the reasons why
I'm needing space get out my ride
Talking about what I do, where I go, who I'm with and why I don't bring you
Think about the times you pushed me
Saying "baby please don't go"
You make me sick
Yeah, yeah
I'll make you lost in
Times before you break my small
You claim you love me, tease me, leave me, hold me, please me
Get off I'm movin on
Cos I'm tryin to take control
Chorus:
But it's you talking dirty
When I'm trying to sleep
And it's you, said you love me
After just one week
Tell me who's always calling on my telephone
Now it's you tryin to tell me
We should take things slow
And you said: "don't go, don't go, please don't go
Please don't leave me, on my own
Don't go, don't go, please don't go
Please don't leave me, on my own"
You're creepin, sneaking, cheating, on me
Leavin, this round,
Gotta end the strike cos it ain't going down
Now you wanna come back, claim you give me a track
I forgive what you do then you want it back
I'm sick of playing this game
I ain't sticking with a claim fame
Stop this, right now
You crossed the line so baby get the hell out
Chorus:
But it's you talking dirty
When I'm trying to sleep
And it's you, said you love me
After just one week (just one week yeah)
Tell me who's always calling on my telephone
Now it's you tryin to tell me
We should take things slow (take things slow)
Chorus:
But it's you talking dirty
When I'm trying to sleep (yeah)
And it's you, said you love me
After just one week (just one week yeah yeah)
Tell me who's always calling on my telephone (telephone)
Now it's you tryin to tell me
We should take things slow (take things slow)
And you said: "don't go, don't go, please don't go (no)
Please don't leave me, on my own (please don't)
Don't go, don't go, please don't go (oh)
Please don't leave me, on my own" (on my own)
Make up your mind boy
Silly games you're always playing
Have no time boy
To sit and chase you
I ain't staying
Well, thinking it's funny
Well, you're spending money
And, every time you wanna get the upper hand remember
I'll be walking away looking cool with my
Matching bag and the jewels that I took
Don't you ever say it's not necessary
Then beg to come back
I ain't having that
Ooh whoa
Chorus:
But it's you talking dirty
When I'm trying to sleep
And it's you, said you love me
After just one week
Tell me who's always calling on my telephone
Now it's you tryin to tell me
We should take things slow (take things slow)
Chorus:
But it's you talking dirty
When I'm trying to sleep
And it's you, said you love me
After just one week (just one week)
Tell me who's always calling on my telephone
(Yes it's you) Now it's you tryin to tell me
We should take things slow (take things slow)
And you said: "don't go, don't go (don't go), please don't go (oh no)
Please don't leave me (on my own), on my own
Don't go, don't go (don't go), please don't go (oh no)
Please don't leave me, on my own" (on my own)

I remember... (no.3 in the series)
I remember,
so many things.
i remember,
the happy,
the sad,
the awesome times.
i remember,
times of hard work,
and times of study.
i remember,
the laid back times
and the times of being lazy.
i remember,
a lot of things,
and all of them,
are dear to me.

The People Upstairs
The people upstairs all practise ballet
Their living room is a bowling alley
Their bedroom is full of conducted tours.
Their radio is louder than yours,
They celebrate week-ends all the week.
When they take a shower, your ceilings leak.
They try to get their parties to mix
By supplying their guests with Pogo sticks,
And when their fun at last abates,
They go to the bathroom on roller skates.
I might love the people upstairs more
If only they lived on another floor.

Well, you have your regular classes, like three hours every other day, three times a week. You get twice a week to have an ice practice. Once a week you have weight lifting. It was great.

Remember The Good Times
Good times bad times
Bad times good times
We were twisting Chubby Checker style
In a roaring sixties summer night
We walked the moon and we were free
When Jimi played guitar
We shared a dream with Martin Luther King
We saw J.F.K. in West Berlin
When he spoke those famous words that day
Our world was not the same
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
Let the film just roll
We were lost in shock, the world was doomed
Nikita hit us with a shoe
We watched the world go upside down
When the Kennedys got shot
We were screaming when the world was fab
We had Rock 'n' Roll invade our hearts
We had Elvis, Janis, Marilyn
And hair, to let it grow
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
Let the film just roll
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
We're still standing after all
Back in the cold war
Our hearts were warm
Just because sex was free
In the summer of love
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
Let the film just roll
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
We're still standing after all
Good times bad times
Bad times good times
Im still standing
Let the film just roll
I'm still standing
We're still standing after all
