IF You Sincerely Choose to Excel
The only thing,
You may be able to prove...
Is your right to live your own life.
However,
In doing so...
You have no right to believe,
Your success or lack of it...
Depends on someone else,
Being depicted as less deserving.
Because that is what you wish.
And you make attempts,
For others to acknowledge this.
Be not that big of a fool.
IF you sincerely choose,
To excel.
Fools are a dime a dozen.
And today...
Anyone just may get two dozen,
For less than that!

Doncha Go way Mad
I must confess that what you say is true.
You had a rendezvous with somebody new!
Its the only one Ive ever had.
Baby, baby doncha go way mad.
The cheating shows and it never goes.
Youve got a reason to be mad, I suppose.
She was only just a passing fad.
Baby, baby doncha go way mad.
Her kinds a dime a dozen.
Thats not the kind you want.
Who would have thought your cousin would wander into that restaurant?
Well, you understand that I feel upset.
Whatd ya say that we forgive and forget?
Come and kiss me just to prove youre glad.
Baby, baby doncha go way mad.
Now her kind is a dime a dozen.
You should have passed her by.
Who would have thought your cousin would come along and give us the eye?
Well, you understand that I feel upset.
Whatd ya say that we forgive and forget?
Come and kiss me just to prove youre glad.
Oh, I dont know.
Baby, baby doncha go way mad.
Come and kiss me just to prove youre glad.
Oh, oh.
Baby, baby doncha go way mad.
Come and kiss me just to prove youre glad.
Deborah darlin doncha go way mad.
Baby baby baby...

Keeping Their Distance And Staying Away
They did not want it to appear,
They associated with me...
Publicly.
Until the host of the event,
We attended...
Announced,
If it had not been for my efforts...
There would not have been an event,
To attend.
What did those pretentious do?
Cracked faked smiles.
As if in the doing,
They were compensating me for my time.
And I thought of them to be a dime a dozen.
A waste of space manipulated!
With a doing to me a favor...
By keeping their distance and staying away.

Undeserving
No consultation
No consideration
No meditation
No dedication
No reconciliation
No love
Only impulses
Only excuses
Only dime 'a' dozen dreams
Only broken promises
Only half truths
No love
Just tolerated
Just unappreciated
Just eliminated
Just infuriated
Just vacated
No love

The Wolf
You were born to privilege
Licking on a silver spoon
Think you gotta buy all your friends
Just so you can tear up the room
Your kind is a dime a dozen
I've seen it all before
A parasite in a good disguise
Just another wolf at the door
The wolf
Prowling in the nighttime
The wolf
Howling in the moonshine
The wolf
Gives you what you want but he ain't no friend of mine
You lay it on oh

Keeping It Real
Keeping it real.
So much so it sizzles,
Fresh off the griddle.
Hot stuff here!
And it may require your need to cool it down,
Before you can accept if for what it is.
And not for what you wish it to be...
To be kept in sync with your reality!
This...
Can blister.
And we know 'realities' come and go,
For a dime a dozen these days.
Maybe even cheaper than that...
Since so many false ones are just laying around,
After being tossed out the window!
But this...
What I offer,
Is the real deal!
If ever you wish to feel the quality of it...
Let me know.
It will not disappoint.
That's how reliable it is.

Bad Feelings.
Sad feelings are like a dime a dozen....
Always, like a prescription, always filled.
Sad feelings do come and go...
To, happy feelings, slow the woe.
Sad times infest to a lot of people, in general...
A blanketed cover that enshrouds them all.
Sad feelings inherit the Earth...
Even, after death, before thy birth.
Depression blackens and darkens the soul...
Until at last, psychologically, we are renewed as whole.

No Odd Man Out
Wrapped and attached to other people's business they are.
Like leeches sucking on fresh meat until the juice is gone...
To move on to await new bait unsuspecting what is behind,
Their false gins.
Many try to stay uninvolved but they are drag in...
Because it is the environment that does it.
A dime a dozen proves there is no odd man out of this!
And to keep relevent all windows are open wide...
For fear what is inside might suffocate from lack of deprivation.

Hard To Handle
Baby here I am
Im the man on the scene
I can give you what you want
But you gotta come home with me
I have got some good old lovin
And I got some more in store
When I get through throwin it on you
You gotta come back for more
(chorus)
Boys and things that come by the dozen
That aint nothin but drugstore lovin
Hey little thing let me light your candle
cause mama Im sure hard to handle, now,
Gets around
Action speaks louder than words
And Im a man of great experience
I know youve got another man
But I can love you better than him
Take my hand dont be afraid
Im gonna prove every word I say
Im advertising love for free
So you can place your ad with me
(chorus)
Boys come along a dime by the dozen
That aint nothing but ten cent lovin
Hey little thing let me light your candle
cause mama Im sure hard to handle, now,
Gets around
(repeat verse 1)
(repeat chorus 1)

You Aint Woman Enough To Take My Man
You come to tell me something, you say I ought to know
That he dont love me anymore and I have to let him go
Oh, you say youre gonna take him, but I dont think you can
cause you aint woman enough to take my man
Oh, women like you they come a dime a dozen,
For you to get him Ill have to move over
And Im gonna stay right here
Well itll be over my dead body, you better get out while you can
cause you aint woman enough to take my man

A Convenience For One
Anyone who becomes persuaded,
To allow outsiders to interfere...
In 'their' private relationship.
With a giving of opinion.
And that opinion given is more valued,
Than the relationship entered into by two...
Professing a love known.
Well...
Can that really be considered a relationship?
One that is serious?
Or is it more a convenience for one,
To do a manipulation done.
And anyone inviting this,
Has to be more interested in being validated,
A fool.
And fools,
Even today...
At the prices paid,
Have become cheaper to get...
For less than a dime a dozen.

I invented animals and birds - I had about two dozen. After working on them for six months, I sat down and just for fun wrote two dozen poems to accompany the drawings. It was for no one to every see, but a friend sent me in to an editor.

Hey Mr. Millionaire (live)
Went down across that borderline
Down in the planet Mexico.
Bought some tequila big sack o whack.
I let go the Peso; I couldnt get back.
Hey, Mr. Millionaire! Hey, Mr. Millionaire!
Can you loan this poor-boy a dime?
Walking and crossing the border line
Way on the planet London.
Bought a Rolls Royce and a Jaguar;
It DOES in fact matter how rich you are.
Hey, Mr. Millionaire! Hey, Mr. Million!
Can you loan this poor-boy a dime?
I moved on across that borderline
Deep on the planet Louisiana.
Threw some dice it was oh, so nice,
But it left me eatin red beans & rice.
Hey, Mr. Millionaire! Hey, Mr. Million!
Could you loan this poor-boy a dime?
Hey, Mr. Millionaire! Hey, Mr. Million!
Loan this poor-boy a dime.
Loan this poor-boy a dime.
Turn yourself into a BANKER!
