No Odd Man Out
Wrapped and attached to other people's business they are.
Like leeches sucking on fresh meat until the juice is gone...
To move on to await new bait unsuspecting what is behind,
Their false gins.
Many try to stay uninvolved but they are drag in...
Because it is the environment that does it.
A dime a dozen proves there is no odd man out of this!
And to keep relevent all windows are open wide...
For fear what is inside might suffocate from lack of deprivation.

Not On My Side Of Sanity
I'm expected to be in place,
For those that are inconsistent?
And unreliable too?
I don't think so.
I may live in that kind of environment.
But being part of it,
Is not my commitment.
I'm not loyal to anyone's agonies.
I'm expected to sit and listen,
To others who boo-hoo about their every pain?
And I'm suppose to remain attached,
While they stay uninvolved to play games?
I do 'not' think so.
Not on my side of sanity.
People like that I leave alone.
And stay as distant as I can be!

There It Sat Uncracked
And there it sat...
Uncracked.
On a remote and isolated beach.
Seeking with wishes!
Screaming from the inside,
With its untouched juice and meat.
'Why doesn't anyone come to crack me?
I've been a good coconut!
Am I doomed to lay here forever untouched? '
Unheard are the pleas!
'If anyone there can hear me,
PLEASE crack me open.
I am here with untouched juice and meat! '
And the monkey...
Once a coconut freak,
But now...
Strickly into bananas,
As a preferred diet of choice to eat...
Settled down to nap.
High above in the palm tree!
With eyes dosing to a close!
'If anyone there can hear me,
PLEASE crack me open.
I am here with untouched juice and meat!
I've been a good coconut! '

IF You Sincerely Choose to Excel
The only thing,
You may be able to prove...
Is your right to live your own life.
However,
In doing so...
You have no right to believe,
Your success or lack of it...
Depends on someone else,
Being depicted as less deserving.
Because that is what you wish.
And you make attempts,
For others to acknowledge this.
Be not that big of a fool.
IF you sincerely choose,
To excel.
Fools are a dime a dozen.
And today...
Anyone just may get two dozen,
For less than that!

An Emptiness Again?
this emptiness moves upon its hands
on the carpeted floors of the hallways
upon an old catholic church
the pillars as you see are taller
than the rugby players
the windows are as wide as the shoulders
of african men
i stand on the threshold of this door
the sun gets in
and i must choose which way to be
outside is the wind full of uncertain origins
inside there is this light that fears dissolution
the moment the wide window closes upon itself
there are two windows inside myself
i open them soon and then i will fly away
inside there is too much feasting
outside there is only your silence

Eyes Wide Open
Your eyes are wide open, but yet you don’t see
All the love I have inside of me.
Eyes wide open, but you don’t look around
You don’t open your ears, you don’t hear a sound.
Eyes wide open but the beauties that surround you
Do not seem to exist.
Is it that your eyes on you are playing tricks?
Eyes wide open and yet you have a blank stare.
Have you closed off your mind?
Or you just don’t care.
What can I do to remove that haze
So that on my face you can gaze.
If I hold you tenderly in my arms
And kiss those beautiful eyes.
Will they move? Will they cry?
What must I do so that you can see
That our love was meant to be.
They say that you went deep inside yourself
To hide the hurt and pain
But without your love “ I am the same”.
Eyes wide open. Did they just glance at me?
Is it because your heart is finally free?
I see a tear forming in your eyes
Emotions being let out that you tried to hide.
Eyes wide open- now they are mine
I can see your love for the very first time.

What You Will Miss Here Baby
...the ripe bananas
the coconut juice and young meat
the local wine
the rice cakes
the fruits that you can pick from the trees
the lone line of beaches
surrounding practically the whole island
the fresh air
the wide expanse of green fields
the peace and quite
the hospitality of the people
we have it just name it
and it's all yours for free
because we care.

Keeping It Real
Keeping it real.
So much so it sizzles,
Fresh off the griddle.
Hot stuff here!
And it may require your need to cool it down,
Before you can accept if for what it is.
And not for what you wish it to be...
To be kept in sync with your reality!
This...
Can blister.
And we know 'realities' come and go,
For a dime a dozen these days.
Maybe even cheaper than that...
Since so many false ones are just laying around,
After being tossed out the window!
But this...
What I offer,
Is the real deal!
If ever you wish to feel the quality of it...
Let me know.
It will not disappoint.
That's how reliable it is.

Proverbs are in the world of thought what gold coin is in the world of business - great value in small compass, and equally current among all people. Sometimes the proverb may be false, the coin counterfeit, but in both cases the false proves the value of the true.
Hes Alive
The gates and doors were barred
And all the windows fastened down
I spent the night in sleeplessness
And rose at every sound
Half in hope of sorrow
And half in fear the day
Would find the soldiers breakin through
To drag us all away
And just before the sunrise
I heard something at the wall
The gate began to rattle
And a voice began to call
I hurried to the window
Looked down into the street
Expecting swords and torches
And the sound of soldiers feet
But there was no one there but mary
So I went down to let her in
John stood there beside me
As she told me where shed been
She said theyve moved him in the night
And none of us know where
The stones been rolled away
And now his body isnt there
We both ran towards the garden
Then john ran on ahead
We found the stone and empty tomb
Just the way that mary said
But the winding sheet they wrapped him in
Was just an empty shell
And how or where theyd taken him
Was more than I could tell
Oh something strange had happened there
Just what I did not know
John believed a miracle
But I just turned to go
Circumstance and speculation
Couldnt lift me very high
cause Id seen them crucify him
Then I saw him die
Back inside the house again
The guilt and anguish came
Everything Id promised him
Just added to my shame
When at last it came to choices
I denied I knew his name
And even if he was alive
It wouldnt be the same
But suddenly the air was filled
With a strange and sweet perfume
Light that came from everywhere
Drove shadows from the room
And jesus stood before me
With his arms held open wide
And I fell down on my knees
And I just clung to him and cried
Then he raised me to my feet
And as I looked into his eyes
The love was shining out from him
Like sunlight from the skies
Guilt in my confusion
Disappeared in sweet release
And every fear I ever had
Just melted into peace
Hes alive yes hes alive
Yes hes alive and Im forgiven
Heavens gates are open wide
Hes alive yes hes alive
Oh hes alive and Im forgiven
Heavens gates are open wide
Hes alive hes alive
Hallelujah hes alive
Hes alive and Im forgiven
Heavens gates are open wide
Hes alive hes alive hes alive
I believe it hes alive
Sweet jesus

Lieing to Yourself Has Been Your Enemy
Open your windows.
Why suffocate,
Without fresh air to deeply breathe.
Why lock yourself away,
Within your walls?
And you sit in silence.
As if afraid someone will call.
What is the purpose,
Of your self inflicted distance?
'I've heard there is a truth outside I can not face.'
You can not keep yourself away,
From the embracing of it.
Blocked, locked away or with attempts to stop...
Truth does not victimize.
Lieing to yourself,
Has been your enemy.

Let’s create windows In our minds
Houses and buildings
Have Windows
Buses and trains
Too have windows
When open
Light and fresh air
Comes in through them
Allows foul air to go out
When closed
Prevents Dust and filth
From coming in
Let’s create windows
In our minds
Allow good thoughts
To come in and enlighten
The mind
Let the bad thoughts go out
Close the window of the mind
When bad thoughts
Try to intrude in
Listen to what people say
With an open mind

Too Much Monkey Business
Running to and fro,
Hard working at the mill,
Never failed at the mill,
There come a rotten bill.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Salesman talking to me,
Trying to run me up a creek,
Says you can buy it, go on try it,
You can pay me next week.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Blonde hair, good-looking,
Trying to get me hooked and married
Get a home, settle down by the book.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Been to yokohama, baby,
Fighting in the war,
Army bunk, army chow,
Army clothes, army car.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Same thing every day,
Getting up, going to school.
No need for me complaining,
My objection's overruled.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Working in the filling station,
Too many tasks,
Wipe the windows, check the oil,
Check the tires, dollar gas?
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
Don't want you by the race,
Get away and leave me.
[original has one more verse:
Pay-phone, something's wrong,
Dime gone, will mail.
Oughta sue the operator
For telling me a tale.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved with you

No need causes no pain.
Deprivation of meat is no a pain
To one who has never tasted it.
Deprivation of wine is no a pain
To one who has never sipped it.
Chastity ridden women don’t
Feel pain to keep off the adultery.

Light spreads over the dark
The writer proves his talent
In front of those who lack it.
The singer proves his talent
In front of those who lack it.
So do every artist, high and low.
We applaud one whose skill we lack.

Catching Fire
Glowing embers, remnants of a world past.
Life is dying, its energy expiring fast.
The last hope for life to survive is fading out and we're stuck drowning in a sea of doubt!
-
Burnt out timber, shadows of what use to be.
Lord God! Start a fire inside me!
So many are burnout, no fire left, to our flaking ashes we cleft.
-
Someone needs to ignite the fire, bring us back to life!
Keep us alive, don't let the darkness suffocate the light:
So many of us, burnt-out, dead, and alone, We need fire in the bones!
-
We're sitting here, waiting for someone to catch fire-dying-
Sitting here warming benches, not even trying.
By our lack of faith, we condemn ourselves to die!
-
Waiting for God to move, but God has already done so.
While we're stalling, he's calling us to go!
But we're waiting for fire, that's already here, but we won't commit because of our fear.
-
Haunted by a fear of the unknown, that we can't survive.
We sit and kill, the very life we're trying to revive.
Waiting for someone else to move, with the blame on our heads, we refuse to push ahead.
-
If you don't move, and he besides you doesn't move,
Who's going to keep the fire, that runs this world, tell me who?
So I'm catching fire, hoping others catch fire with me: catching fire to set men free, are you with me?

Angel
Unconditional love, that is what youve given to me
And I thank god, that you will always be right here with me
Even though were apart, you know that you will always
Have a place in my heart,
And if you call out my name
Ill be right there, so you dont have to cry alone
Like an angel Ill fly to you
With my arms open wide
So you dont have to cry no more
And with my wings open wide
Ill do what it takes
So you dont have to cry no more
Now dont be ashamed of saying
Of saying just how you feel
Take fear from inside
Open up your heart and say whats on your mind
cause youve shown me love with meaning, never were deceiving, for you
Im dedicated thats why Im celebrating our love, and if you call out my name
Ill be right there, so you dont have to cry alone
Like an angel Ill fly to you
With my arms open wide
So you dont have to cry no more
And with my wings open wide
Ill do what it takes
So you dont have to cry no more
Like an angel Ill fly, with my wings open wide
When you need me, so you just have to open your
Heart, so just open your heart and youll know from
The start that you dont have to cry no more
Like an angel Ill fly to you
With my arms open wide
So you dont have to cry no more
And with my wings open wide
Ill do what it takes
So you dont have to cry no more

Be Windows To Be Shut
Don't open the windows!
Cold air will rush in.
Don't open the windows!
Hot air will blow in.
Don't open the windows!
Mosquitoes are there.
Don't open my history!
Treacheries will snare.
Don't open my memory!
Debaucheries will slip out.
Don't open my very eyes.
I should not be a witness.
Let the windows be shut;
With that the past buried.
Switch on the air-conditioner.
Spray on the bed perfume.
I must enjoy my night
With the world outside shut.

Whole Wide World
Written by dewey bunnell, 1994
Found on hourglass.
Now the leaves are blowin
Down the avenue
And the bells are ringing
The love that I found in you
All around the city
Before the winter snow
The sidewalks are so busy
But I wouldnt even know
cause all the people in the whole wide world (whole wide world)
Dont mean nothin if you aint got your girl (got your girl)
All the people seem so far away
cause I only want you to stay
With me, with me
The summer was unending
I had to see it through
No use in my pretending
I love everything you do
All the people in the whole wide world (whole wide world)
Dont mean nothin if you aint got your girl (got your girl)
All the people seem so far away
cause I only want you to stay
With me, with me
Dragonflies dipped on the swimming pool
By july I had to keep my cool
(you were shining) you were shining like a living jewel
Inside I knew
Time stood still with you
And all the people in the whole wide world (whole wide world)
Dont mean nothin if you aint got your girl (got your girl)
All the people seem so far away
cause I only want you to stay
With me, with me
With me, with me
With me, with me ...

You Aint Woman Enough To Take My Man
You come to tell me something, you say I ought to know
That he dont love me anymore and I have to let him go
Oh, you say youre gonna take him, but I dont think you can
cause you aint woman enough to take my man
Oh, women like you they come a dime a dozen,
For you to get him Ill have to move over
And Im gonna stay right here
Well itll be over my dead body, you better get out while you can
cause you aint woman enough to take my man

Into This Time
Into this time we move,
with Hopes, and Regrets,
with Bills, and Debts,
Without a Dime, for the Wine,
Without a Glass, for the Mass,
Into this time we move,
Without a Beer, for the Dear,
Without a Mirror, for the Fear,
Into this time we move,
Into this time we move,
With the stacking debts
and regrets to,
Into this time we move,
Into this time we move,
Selling the wine for a Dime,
Stealing the glass from the mass,
Into this time we move,
Into this time we move,
With Debts and Regrets
With Bills and Deals
With Growing Debt
We move into this time.
