I understand personally that it is frustrating to lose presidential elections by narrow margins.

Well, one thing that has happened is they have had a presidential election in Egypt which has represented progress. Now, we were not happy with everything that happened with the parliamentary elections, and it was not exactly a perfect presidential election in Egypt.

Federal elections happen every two years in this country. Presidential elections every four years. And four years just isn't long enough to dismantle all the environmental laws we've got in this country.

US ELECTIONS, Nov 2004
Its all over for now
And perhaps, for the next four years to come!
Months of hard work has come
to an end all of a sudden.
Whatev'r the outcome, it was great!
The people have given their verdict
as to who should lead the country
once again!
And this is how Democracy works;
A deep divide exists howev'r
amongst the voters today;
There can be just one victor;
The other concedes defeat.
It is time to unite;
It is time to heal;
It is time to understand the fact that
A few thousand voters can change
A nation's destiny!
The loser is NOT really a loser!
He had mustered almost half the votes;
He represents a colossal figure of hearts
That are still behind him
always.
So, the victor should NOT gloat,
Nor revel or lose his head;
He was just lucky to stay ahead,
For, God was by his side.
Now is the time to think
And ponder why so many
Voted against him;
Now is the time to sink
The differences and work
For the common good of all.
There is no time to waste;
And one mustn't be in haste;
A nation has problems beset,
That have defied solutions yet.
Emotions will run high;
Many will simply cry;
For success that was nigh,
Eluded the other guy.
But this is how it works-
the people's mandate!
Forget the past mistakes;
Start afresh today;
There are problems galore;
And come will many more!
For now, the elections are o'er;
Heal the hearts that are sore!

I think that it's a vital moment now for Russian democracy to convince people that it's only our actions, our joined actions and protests that could force Kremlin to reconsider its plans to abolish presidential elections.

There's a rebirth that goes on with us continuously as human beings. I don't understand, personally, how you can be bored. I can understand how you can be depressed, but I just don't understand boredom.

Everybody knows they're on the Obama team: There isn't vice presidential vs. presidential division, there's not a generational pull. People have internalized that this is a real moment in history.

Sometimes that happens. I know how it feels to lose eight or nine to nothing. It can be frustrating but it was good for us. This was a team that was hot the last nine games. It seemed like any puck we touched went our way.

The cost of congressional and presidential campaigns has been leaping every two or four years. I think this year it will be 60 percent more than 1996; well over twice as much as in 1992 in the presidential and congressional races.

Narrow Your Eyes
I dont want to change your mind
I dont want to think about your mind
They say love is blind
I dont think youre blind
You dont want to understand
And I dont want to shake your fathers hand
And walk in the sand
And act like a man
I get on the bus
And ride past our stop
And though Im late
I cant get off
I just cant bear to tell you some lies
And narrow your eyes
Narrow your eyes
Well take back every thing we said
Split up all the things and move ahead
Forgot how you said
Well split the side off the bed
I get on my bike
Ride down our block
Ride through the world
Through the green lights
But when I think of all your advice
I narrow my eyes
Narrow my eyes
I dont want to change your mind
I dont want to think about your mind
They say love is blind
I dont think youre blind
I get on the bus
Ride past our stop
And though Im late
I cant get off
I just cant bear to tell you some lies
And narrow your eyes
Narrow your eyes
Now lets toast the sad cold fact
Our loves never coming back
And well race to the bottom of a glass
So narrow your eyes
Narrow your eyes
Narrow your eyes
Narrow your eyes
Narrow your eyes
Narrow your eyes

Losing You
Spying on you
Makes me wonder why
And when I wonder why,
For just a moment
I understand
What you’re trying to say
Through words
And dreams
But then I lose the thought
Lose it,
Lose you
Spying on you
Makes me wonder why
And when I wonder why
For just a second
I understand
What you’re trying to tell me
What I’m trying to tell you
Through thoughts
And friendship
But then I lose the thought
Lose it,
Lose you
Spying on you
Makes me wonder why
Set Date Elections Mar 1st,2011
So we are not going to have an election anytime soon,
We don’t have set-date elections now or during a full moon,
Where referendums and propositions are completely banned,
Are you having a problem with this or don’t you understand?
And proportional representation is banned in first-past-the-post,
Though the combined opposition candidates had many more votes,
And you can’t elect your prime minister using his/her name,
The name on the ballot is a party member – not the same.
And first past the post wins in all our elections,
Proportional representation forbidden and no objections,
There is no doubt about it but that the good guys should win,
And most of the other types should all begin again.

Who Cares
They stand and look at things
with their eyes closed tight.
They claim to see just what others don’t,
branding someone a liar and deceiver.
Sadly, they are the ones
who deceive themselves all the time.
Who worries if someone uses a different name
whenever they sit down to write?
I personally don’t.
Who cares if they make up an age they want to be.
I personally don’t.
Who cares if they exaggerates
about what they may or may not have done.
I personally don’t care.
Everyone no matter who they are
wants to be someone different at sometime or other,
and there is nothing wrong in that.
Just so long at the end of it,
they are happy in their own way.
I have no quarrel
with what anyone does
and I don’t think
anyone else should do neither.

Cap In Hand
I could tell the meaning of a word like serene
I got some o grades when I was sixteen
I can tell the difference between magarine and butter
I can say saskatchewan without starting to stutter
But I cant understand why we let someone else rule our land
Were cap in hand
I could get a broken jaw from being in a fight
I know its evening when day turns to night
I can understand why stranraer lie so lowly
They could save a lot of points by signing hibs goalie
But I cant understand why we let someone else rule our land
Were cap in hand
We fight - when they ask us
We boast - then we cower
We beg
For a piece of
Whats already ours
Once I thought I could make God a bribe
So I said I was in his lost tribe
Getting handouts can be so frustrating
Get in line son, theres five million waiting
I cant understand why you let someone else rule your land
Youre cap in hand.
