Hurtful Hours

So many hurtful hours
until I'll hear your voice.
Just seconds, just seconds
that would be my choice.

The wait is long. The wait is hard.
It's so very tough.
And when I finally hear from you
the minutes are not enough.

I sit on pins and needles
and let the time go by.
Sometimes I get weepy.
I try hard not to cry.

'Cause crying is a hurtful thing
and is no help to me.
So I dry my tears and wait for the phone
to bring sweet peace to me.

Speak to me. Speak to me.
Tell me what I want to hear,
that those hurtful, hurtful hours
are the same for you, my dear.

The Truth It Can Be Hurtful

I may not like what you say of me but if of me you speak the truth
Though the truth it can be hurtful if it is not spoken without ruth
The truth cannot defame me if of me the truth you say
And if the truth taints my character well that too is okay.

But if you tell lies about someone and know them to be lies
Then the dislike I'd feel for one like you i barely could disguise
For lies can be defamatory when used in such a way
Any respect to a malicious liar i would find hard to pay.

The truth it can be hurtful as we all ought to know
But out of the truth it can be said respect for one does grow
And though you may not like what's said about you at least what's said is true
And to the one who speaks the truth credit is always due.

The truth it can be hurtful but the truth is never wrong
And those who cannot accept the truth mentally cannot grow strong
And though for some the truth is poison they'd rather live a lie
The truth lives on forever and the truth will never die.

What To One Is Truth

The truth can be hurtful when spoken without ruth
But then suppose the truth it is the truth
And one lie leads to another it is said
And deceit can only live where truth is dead
But what to one is truth to another is not so
Why this should be you ask one who might know
You ask some how good is that and they say great
Whilst others answer only second rate
We all do look at life quite differently
And what's true to you may not be true to me
Though what's true to me may not be entirely so to you
To the higher self we should try to stay true
And though it's praises we may like to sing
The raw truth it can prove a hurtful thing.

Would u go back in time

Would you go back and relive painful times?
Would you go back when times weren't in line?
The hurt and pain of death?
The happy time when you first got your pet?
Would you go back when nothing went together,
Nothing rhymed, and nothing was forever?
Going back in time would unbury hurtful things.
Going back in time would show your success was once a dream.
Would you go back to say 'Good-bye'?
Would you go back to say 'Hi'?
Do you believe by going back things would be better?
Do you think you can go back and destroy hurtful letters?
The past should be left in the past and sometimes forgotten,
and the future may become even more shocking.

Transference

Thousands dip in the Holy Ganges
And emerge clean
Making the holy waters filthy
Like the sewage from a drainage
This transference leaves
Many a holy place, unholy

Seeking Metaphor

Metaphor’s the soul of poetry:
this incongruous instrument of speech
with which we say one thing,
when we mean quite another:

I wish that Shakespeare, its greatest English user,
had coined a truly English word for it –
or perhaps, those blunt and foursquare Anglo-Saxons
who came before; their words as hand-hewn as are spades –

the word comes from the Greek, and means a transference;
‘My lord, your transference is apt and shrewd…’
no, even that’s but transferred to a Latin stem,
‘carrying across’. Too late to seek some native word –
a ‘thoughtshift’ or a ‘mindmatch’ then?

We wear it down, and make it less
by thoughtless grabbing at the candy-jars
upon the shelves of sweetshops of our speech,
as if to mimic poetry that we haven't earned..

but at its height, a metaphor shines like new light;
bringing together, two images so disparate
and making of their neighbouring, a moment magical in memory
as if we’d never seen the world so brilliant
or so revealing; moments when the mind’s a god,
and life itself a metaphor; a glimpse
that somewhere, two things mentioned meet
under the astonished, single gaze of eternity itself..

Metaphor’s a holy sacrament: one should never dare
to use it without some faint echo, of a moment clear recalled
when that which one refers to, came dazzling bright into the mind
as life transfigured to another world,
time lifted to the timeless;
the radiance of the world’s first day,
Creation, in itself, one glorious godly metaphor..
and nothing ever less than one.

No More Heartaches

He got his head in the clouds.

Visioning million dollar dreams.

His eyes close and he imagine of being famous.

Wishing that he could fly with the stars all the way to uranus.

One morning he Woke up with a text ended up with a broken heart.

So damage no surgery could fix it.

It was so torn apart.

Which was filled with butterflies and flowers at first but drown down the ocean.

She left his heart out in the cold and it was winter.

He turn into a coldhearted person when the pain have enter.

So sick and sad he will need a dr. pepper.

Chilly feelings that he had about hurtful women.

He wanted one more chance like getting his last dance.

He is curse of being heartless.

Stuck in a world of darkness.

Living his life for a million dollar dream.

But he think in reality but he is imaging a scene.

He wish he could go back to the gud times in a time machine

He wonders when more happiness will bring.

Hearing birds sing and seeing couples kissing and hugging.

All the times he put his heart out of being faithful.

The more girls that have do him wrong makes him want to be hurtful.

All of the sudden his love is lost.

In a underworld.

He's coldhearted like a polar bear.

He always wish for one more chance.

But he always gets played like a gameboy advance.

He finnally told himself that he will take his feet off of the brakes to move forward

No more heart aches its time for a break because he still moving backwards.

Leave the past whur its at.

To keep himself on track.

No more heartaches and never look back.........

Earn Enough For Us

Ive been praying all the week through
At home, at work and on the bus
Ive been praying I can keep you
And to earn enough for us
I can take humiliation
And hurtful comments from the boss
Im just praying by the weekend
I can earn enough for us
Found a house that wont repair itself
With its windows cracking
And a roof held together with holes
Just because were at the bottom of the ladder
We shouldnt be sadder
Than others like us
Who have goals for the betterment of life
Glad that you want to be my wife, but honest
Ive been praying all the week through
At home at work and on the bus
Ive been praying I can keep you
And to earn enough for us
So youre saying that were going to be three
Now, a fathers what Ill be
Dont get me wrong, Im so proud
But the belts already tight
Ill get another job at night, but honest
I can take humiliation
And hurtful comments from the boss
Im just praying by the weekend
I can earn enough for us
Just because were at the bottom of the ladder
We shouldnt be sadder
Than others like us
Who have goals for the betterment of life
Glad that you want to be my wife, but honest
I can take humiliation

Ch 03 On The Excellence Of Contentment Story 12

One of the ullemma had many eaters to provide for and only a slender income. This fact he communicated to a great man of whose character he entertained a very favourable opinion but his expectations were disappointed because the man made a wry face and averred that according to his opinion applications from respectable persons for aid are unbecoming.

With a face made sad by misfortune, to a dear friend
Do not go because thou wilt embitter his life also.
For the needful for which thou appliest, go with a fresh and smiling face.
The man of joyful countenance will not be unsuccessful in his affairs.

It is related that the great man augmented his stipend a little but considerably diminished his familiarity towards him and when he perceived after some days that it was not as usual, he recited:

‘Evil is the food which the time of degradation acquires.
The kettle is indeed placed but the dignity is lowered.’
He increased my bread but diminished my honour.
Poverty is better than the degradation of asking.

Shepherds Of The Nation

Sung by mr. black the do-gooders
Down with sex and sin,
Down with pot, heroin.
Down with pornography,
Down with lust.
Down with vice lechery and debauchery.
We are the new centurians.
Shepherds of the nations.
Well keep on our guard
For sin and degradation.
We are the national guard
Against filth and depravity,
Perversion and vulgarity,
Homosexuality.
Keep it clean.
Down with nudity,
Breasts that are bare and pubic hair.
We are here to cleanse humanity
From the man in the raincoats
Pale faced glare.
So sodomites beware.
We are the new centurians,
Shepherds of the nation.
Well keep on our guard
For sin and degradation.
We are the national, guard
Against filth and depravity,
Perversion and vulgarity,
Homosexuality.
Keep it clean.
I visualise a day when people will be free
From evils like perversion and pornography.
Well cast out satan and well set the sinners free,
So people of the nation unite.
Put all the pervs in jail,
Bring back the birch, and the cat of nine tails.
Bring back corporal punishment
Bring back the stocks
And the axemans block.
Let righteousness prevail.
Down with nudity and hard core magazines.
Well bring religion back
And keep our country clean.
Keep it clean.
We are the new centurians
Shepherds of the nation.
Well keep on our guard
For sin and degradation.
We are the national guard
Against filth and depravity.
Perversion and vulgarity,
Homosexuality.
Keep it clean.

Ivan Illich

The issue which I propose for discussion should … be clear: how to counter the encroachment of new, electronic devices and systems upon commons that are more subtle and more intimate to our being than either grassland or roads — commons that are at least as valuable as silence. Silence, according to western and eastern tradition alike, is necessary for the emergence of persons. It is taken from us by machines that ape people. We could easily be made increasingly dependent on machines for speaking and for thinking, as we are already dependent on machines for moving. A transformation of the environment from a commons to a productive resource constitutes the most fundamental form of environmental degradation. This degradation has a long history, which coincides with the history of capitalism but can in no way just be reduced to it. Unfortunately the importance of this transformation has been overlooked or belittled by political ecology so far. It needs to be recognized if we are to organize defense movements of what remains of the commons.
