It is made the duty of every Commanding Officer in the Department, to arrest and send to these Headquarters, under guard, every officer or soldier who may be found absent from his command, without the regular leave in writing, prescribed by Regulations and General Orders.

Officer Blue
Officer blue,
Really love the things you do,
Even when I was just eight years.
Officer blue,
Is it true what they say?
That when you work youre still at play.
Oh officer blue,
I really love the things you do.
Its magical,
People in a human zoo.
Officer blue,
Cast a shadow on the wall,
But by torchlight even mice look tall.
Officer blue,
In a blaze of uniform,
And your stripes and badges to conform.
Officer blue,
Really love the things you do,
Even when I was just eight years old.
Officer blue,
Is it true what they say?
That when you work youre still at play.

One Day's Command
The plumed staff officer gallops
Along the swaying line,
That shakes as, beaten by hailstones,
Shakes the loaded autumn vine;
And the earth beneath is reddened,
But not with the stain of wine.
The regular shock of a battery
The rattling tumult stuns;
And its steady thrill through the hill-side
Like a pulse beneath it runs;
The many are dead around it,
But the few still work the guns.
'Who commands this battery?'
And Crosby his clear, young eyes
From the sliding gun-sights lifting
As the well-aimed death-bolt flies,
'I command it today, Sir!'
With a steady voice replies.
Answers as heroes answer,
With modest words and few,
Whose hearts and hands to duty
Even in death are true,
Though its awful light is breaking
Full on their blenchless view.
The officer passes onward
With a less troubled eye,
The words and the look unshaken
Bid every wild doubt fly;
He knows that the young commander
Is there to do or die.
To do
and
die; for the battle
And day of command are done,
While stands unmoved on the hill-side
Each shattered, blackened gun,
And Crosby in death beside them
A deathless name has won.

A Moaning Minnie
The old fusspot was tall and lean
but strong and rich men ran off seeing him.
Unbearable were his hurting remarks,
his wife would be a guest often to her sisters.
Every word he uttered made the hearer to shudder.
He would make a hill out of a molehill.
Women gave him more respect, or else
he would be spreading rumours against them.
His verbal assaults scared his fellow teachers.
As he would skip classes and idle in the staff-room,
all others ran off to take classes.
If anybody skived off a class, he would yell:
' You'll be receiving this day's salary as graft'.
His son was afraid of him but his daughter feared him.
When he was bed-ridden once, nobody turned up to see him;
He warned everybody by phone, saying:
' You'll also fall ill.No dog will call on you'
When an officer issued him orders of transfer,
he sat before the office with a cane full of petrol,
shouting, he would immolate against bribery in the office.
The officer cancelled the orders and sent him back.
My God! How many old gits like this one
rail at people with sparks of fire!

Just One More Cigarette...
It is evening they take him out of his cell and into
the walled court yard. An officer offers him a fag
he accepts, and smokes it slowly inhaling deeply.
The officer says, “don’t worry it will soon be over. “
Then they tie his hands behind his back, blindfold
him and place him against a pockmarked wall.
The officer asks if the prisoner, has a last word,
a message to the world or his family. The damned
shakes his head, a long silence, and a volley of fire.
Today, after being told by my doctor I’m an idiot,
I have stopped smoking.

The Soldier Fights
the soldier fights for the hippys rights to protest against that soldier
the soldier fights for the politions rights to send that soldier to war
the soldier fights for buisness mans rights to make money
the soldier fights for the policemans rights to arrest that soldier
the soldier fights for school kids right to know about past soldiers
the soldier fights to so that you may all sleep at night
the soldier fights for religion so that you may all belive what you wish
And yet the soldier fights on
the soldier fights for his flag, for his country, for his life
What to Say?
When he has been a celibate for ten years,
since his wife fell ill, and if she asks,
' Would you stay celibate if I died? ',
what he can say to his faithful wife.
When a non-alcoholic is on the wheels,
if a policeman in booze stops him
and begins to breathalyse him,
what he can say to him.
When a corrupt officer with greased palms
advises an honest clerk to keep away from graft,
what he can say to him.
When a forest officer colluding with loggers
for smuggling the valuable timbre, lectures
before the tribals not to denude the forests,
what they can tell him.
When the cops arrest the users
rather than the dealers of drugs,
what we can say about the system.
When a bag-lady is at the fag end of life,
after facing ups and downs all through,
if the astrologer makes predictions for
receiving money, love and luck,
what she can say of it.

Well, mines was a sub machine gun. That was my personal weapon with being the first person in the patrol. I used to lead the patrol. Used to have a leading scout, a second scout and then the officer. The officer would be third. As I say, it was educational.

The Third Witness
he said instead of the warrant of arrest
the police officer aimed a gun at him
and so he looked at the sky
called upon God and then he closed his eyes
and bowed and knelled on the ground
and kissed the sands
and then he ran away
to nowhere.....
he did not know what happened next.

It's Clean Up Time
'What's the problem here? '
Officer,
This Negro has the audacity to be arrogant.
The nerve to walk with dignity!
As IF a condoning of his identity,
Has been approved.
Would you please issue him a citation!
I have friends who have come from out of town to visit,
And we wish to see burdened and depressed images.
His presence has ruined our tour!
And that is why you have been summoned!
'I see!
President Obama?
I apologize for this inconvenience.
But why aren't you in the White House?
You have been elected to carry forth our wishes.
You are to uphold 'our' values and standards of life!
Why are you here? '
~My campaign advocated change!
And no longer will there be a tolerance,
Of some folks believing they can come and smuggle...
The best fried chicken and town,
And not give credit where credit is due!
No longer will these recipes be stolen.
No longer will dance movements be lifted...
Or music plagiarized.
Unique customs or studies done,
To disadvantage those where they have originated.
When I said we are going to spread the wealth...
I meant an end will come to those who steal these 'resources'
And leave the creators penniless, mocked and degraded!
I've come to put a stop to it! ~
Arrest him officer...
He can not do this to us!
What will we do?
That has been our 'interest'...
And the foundation of our way of life for generations.
How are we going to survive?
'President Obama?
Any comments? '
~Yes!
I recommend everyone on the bus...
To get off.
We are going to begin the first steps,
Of my civic pride initiative.
After this ethnic feast we are about to have...
All of us are going to get down and funky,
With some good old fashioned discipline.
Unlike any known before!
Trust me...
Your nonsense is going to be remembered,
As child's play!
Grab a broom!
That means you too, officer!
It's clean up time! ~

Her Woes
the social welfare
officer carries
her bouncing baby
boy
the social welfare
officer says the boy
is healthy
the mother has
meningitis and
cannot support
the boy
he needs a lot
of milk
he is heavy and
he smiles a
lot and he
stares at his
mother
who has no
mind of her own
now
the social welfare
officer carries
the baby in her arms
and i am signing
the papers
attesting to the
mother's having
to give up the
boy for
welfare,
her sister from
Calape
has six kids
and her husband
is jobless
the boy stares
at her mother
who says
she is moving
to another place
to forget him
she was raped.
she got pregnant.
they are poor.
and she has to give
up the boy
the boy keeps
staring at her
mother.
their woes.
would you like
to carry the boy, sir?
he says.
No. he is definite.
No. His answer.

'Have you seen anything? '
'Yes Sir, scattered objects in the enemy territory.'
The Radar Observer replied with a salute!
Then the officer ordered to the infantry
'Rapid fire! '

Soldier
it is a nice life soldier
is it not? you are well fed
and you are given the power to kill
with rewards even
if you have killed many
of our enemies,
you are well traveled
and well trained
with all those free high powered guns
and ammunition
you do not have to spend any neuron
in your brain
you only follow orders
and that is what matters most
like a guard dog, a sniff dog that amazes
me at the airport
soldier, i like you, but i cannot be one like you
because for reasons unknown to you,
you also kill some of our
brothers in the name of the state
and this world, in the name of war and of peace
always following orders.

Orders From Headquarters
Mathew 20: 28
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many
Jesus himself came to follow orders. And a great one too. To sacrifice His life for ours. To save us.
Not many like to take orders. Yet in reality, we take orders everyday. Whether it's work, school, parents, or even sports. We are all obliged to take orders whether we like it or not. Why is that though?
Most of the time we take orders from those we need. For example, your boss at work. You take his orders because you need the money. Or your teachers. You take their commands because you're looking to graduate.
In retrospect, we need to follow God's orders because we need Jesus more than anything in this world. He's our provider, our light, our breath of everyday, our everything.
He gave us orders, and that's to serve Him. So how much more do we need to carry out His orders? Jesus did it. So how much more do we?
These are the orders from headquarters, carry out His commandments, seek Him. Evangelize, and care for others according to His will.
In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
