We certainly could have voted on making the middle-class tax cuts and tax cuts for working families permanent had the Republicans not insisted that the only way they would support those tax breaks is if we also added $700 billion to the deficit to give tax breaks to the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans. That's what was really disturbing.

In December, I agreed to extend the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans because it was the only way I could prevent a tax hike on middle-class Americans. But we cannot afford $1 trillion worth of tax cuts for every millionaire and billionaire in our society. We can't afford it. And I refuse to renew them again.

Today's tax cuts provide yet another illustration of the Republicans' fiscally irresponsible economic policies that ignore the needs of America's middle class, students, and working families.

When It Cuts
cannot justify your envy
But I will be understanding when you stay
Then I will satisfy you in every (way)
But I'm not feeling coherent when you say
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I die again
Again
Though I'm right, I don't think I'll win this fight
But I'm trying though it's ripping me inside
Just in case that I'm taking up your space
I'll be feeling too, whatever's left inside
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I die again
I can't go on
I'm not that strong
I'm so alone
You just gotta set me free
I'm still living day, no way
I don't care what you say
Your eyes dispise my lies
Just say goodbye
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I die again
Again, again
Waste your breath

While the wealthiest families completely benefit from the tax cuts targeted towards the upper brackets, middle-income families were hit with the unwelcome surprise of higher taxes on tax day.

We can have tax cuts, but when we have tax cuts and do not have a surplus, the amount of the tax cut goes straight to the bottom line, adds to the deficit, and the deficit adds to the national debt, and sooner or later, the debt has to be paid.

Cuts Both Ways
It cuts both ways
Our love is like knife
That cuts both ways
Its driven deep into my heart each time
That I realize
How it cuts both ways
Cant be together
Cannot live apart
Were heading straight into a broken heart
But I cant stop
(bridge)
cause I feel too much to let you go
Im hurting you and its hard I know
To stay and fight for what weve got
Knowing itll never be good enough
cause you and I are dangerous
We want too much and life aint that way
Dont ask for more
Dont be a fool
Havent we already broken every rule
It cuts both ways, were in too deep for sorry alibis
Cant have regrets or even question why
We cant say goodbye
Because it cuts both ways
No more illusions of the love we make
No sacrifice would ever be too great
If you would just stay
(bridge)
Cuts both ways
Our love is like a knife that cuts both ways
Its drivin deep into my heart each time I see we livin the lie
And it cuts both ways
It cuts both ways, mmm
Cuts both ways
Cuts both ways

Cuts
It's a tied rope
Life flips
Someone else
have found the mood
Break to another world
I got to tell them
I was the one before
and it's not my fault
I'm what you adore
Take my flesh I am real
What you gonna do
if I let you feel
Cuts
I'm not a maniac
Cuts
I'm not a maniac
The time is up
fighting against the miserables
When I step into your room
I know what's on your mind
So shut your mouth
I was the one before
I got your time
I'm what you ignore
It is true I'm healed
so what you gonna do with
if I let you feel
Cuts
I'm not a maniac
Cuts
I'm not a maniac
Say it I know you can't
Follow cause I'm to fast
Say it I know you can't
Lay with me
Say it I know you can
Follow cause I'm to fast
Say it, say it again
Cuts
I'm not a maniac
Cuts
I'm not a maniac
Cuts
I'm not a maniac
Say it, say it again

Tax Breaks for the Rich
Jobs have been shipped overseas! Who do you think has shipped them overseas? The worker, the poor, the middleclass? No! The super rich that want to maximize their profits with cheap labor and low environmental standards. They then with lobby dollars and shills in government keep these products manufactured outside the USA coming into the USA with low tariffs in stores like Wallmart etc which undermine more USA manufacturing jobs. These are the rich that this new bill would give tax breaks too. These affluent fat cats get a tax break that not only doesn't invest in the USA economy but rob it! These ultra rich want the USA to borrow money from China while millions are laid off by a false trickle down economic policy that has utterly failed. They want their tax breaks going on our childrens childrens back and tell us they only want to spend money they pay for! LIARS! The congress in the hands of big money needs statesmen that fight for the middle class. Keep yourself informed and realize what these politicians do affect all of us and the world. See through the phony TAX BREAKS for the rich while extending unemployment benefits for the down trodden and giving more tax incentives to the middle class that truly spends its money to survive on a daily basis and stimulate the economy in a real way. Working people are not the ones moving the companies. Joe - resist these evil men and policies

But what is striking about this, in a town that often talks about tax cuts, we could quite easily, Republicans and Democrats working together, do something that everybody in America desires, and that is a simplification of our Tax Code.

Every Second Someone Breaks A Heart
(richard brossman)
Its a dangerous world we live in
Crime is everywhere
Theres always some sad story going down
You can read it in the paper
You can see it on the air
Its an evil epidemic going round
But nobody seems to notice
The saddest crime of all
Oh just how many times a day
Someone takes their love away
And the national statistics
Never put it in the chart
But every second someone breaks a heart
Theres a woman out there somewhere
Who feels she lost her life
But her man just shot her world down
And it hurts
Theres a guy who just got taken
And it cuts him like a knife
Some girl stole his heart and left him
Without a world
They dont call it a crime of passion
But it kills you just the same
Its murder when a true love dies
Right before your very eyes
And as soon as one is over
Another one will start
Every second someone breaks
Every second someone breaks a heart
If youve got someone who loves you
Be careful all the time
Do you know where your love is tonight
Cause theres always someone trying
To find the perfect crime
And you never know just when
Theyll strike
So you better watch your woman
And you better watch your man
Cause no ones safe when loves at stake
Anybodys heart can break
And the next time that it happens
Youre not the losing part
Every second someone breaks a heart
Every second someone breaks a heart
Every second someone breaks a heart
