My Heart Stops
(diane warren)
(recorded by eric carmen)
Arista as1-2264 / 1992
I tell myself
This cant be love
That Im feelin
But if I think that my world
Will be the way that it was
Im dreamin
Why do I feel so high
At the mention of your name
Why do I act so shy
Cant explain, cant explain, cant explain
But darlin
Wo-wo-wo when you go walkin by
My heart stops
My heart stops
I cant explain it
Wo-wo-wo when you look in my eye
My heart stops
My heart stops
Every time youre near
Just thinkin about you
Darlin it just does
Something to me
And when we meet on the street
I feel the flame of love
Burnin through me
I try to play it cool
And never show a sign
But I give myself away
Every time, every time, every time
cause darlin
Wo-wo-wo when you go walkin by
My heart stops
My heart stops
I cant explain it
Wo-wo-wo when you look in my eye
My heart stops
My heart stops
Every time youre near
My heart stops, my heart stops
My heart stops, my heart stops
Oh, whenever youre close to me
Theres a wave of love rushin over me
And I never felt this way
Cant explain, cant explain, cant explain
But darlin
My darlin
Wo-wo-wo when you go walkin by
My heart stops
My heart stops
I cant explain it
Wo-wo-wo when you look in my eye
My heart stops
My heart stops
Every time youre near

My father started growing very quiet as Alzheimer's started claiming more of him. The early stages of Alzheimer's are the hardest because that person is aware that they're losing awareness. And I think that that's why my father started growing more and more quiet.

Poetry Via Alzheimer's
“There’s a kind of music
that lives there”
A little old lady with
Alzheimer’s would declare
When asked if she liked
the ocean and the beach
She appeared not to hear,
Nor even to understand speech
Then her eyes brightened
Her lips parted with a wistful smile
Her memory had returned to enlighten
If only for a little while
As this woman fondly remembered..
I could only in amazement stare
She said, ”Oh my yes! ..And There’s a kind
of Music that lives there”
Just a little old lady with Alzheimer’s
But what a most wondrous and beautiful phrase!
I could not have been stated it more poetically
Had I tried til’ the end of my days

Alzheimer's Disease
Twice,
There would be goodbyes...
Spoken.
With hearts broken.
And words uncertain,
If heard and understood.
~As an essence known,
Would flow to go.~
Twice,
A familiar light of life...
Would flicker to slowly dim.
As those loved ones and friends,
Stood by to witness...
Without a defense to what commenced.
~As an essence known,
Would flow to go.~
And...
Just once,
In the end...
Alzheimer's Disease,
Would finally win...
This long and emotional battle.
~As an essence known,
Would flow to go...
Away.~
Dedicated To:
Those who knew and suffered through,
The losing of close family members and friends...
To Alzheimer's Disease.
'You are loved and missed,
Clara Louise Countryman Pertillar...
By all who knew and loved you too.'
My wonderful Grandmother.

When My Voice Stops!
When my voice stops for ever
There will be no tumults of words ever.
The stars will still twinkle and rivers will still die.
When my voice stops I shall dive into your oblivion
And in another costume someone will impersonate me.
The hymns will still be heard and the fresh idols will surface.
When my voice stops a lone sheep may bleat
As it stands near the tender leaves aplenty.
I think it may bleat for a while and cease to do so thenceforth.
When my voice stops those who loved me once for a while
May shed a few drops of tears innocent
And I may turn on my tomb for a sigh!

A lot of people say the sitcom is dead. I think they're right to some extent, in that the shows they're putting out are all the same.

We Think Life Stops
life stops
like the way we hold each other's
hands at dawn
and then we simply feel nothing
like the way i put my right leg on top of your
thighs and
you say nothing
life stops when we think there is nothing
significant about ourselves anymore
there is nothing
in your belly and there is nothing
in my veins
we think life stops
like the way we keep on going
because we cannot stop to keep on
moving
we think
life stopped
but actually life never stops
even when we think it stopped moving
even when we
actually stop loving
