You want the story to end when it's supposed to and not be squeezed for somebody's financial gain.

You're supposed to be my parents

You're supposed to love me
You're supposed to be there for me
You're not supposed to call me names
Or even hit me around
I shouldn't have to get two jobs
i shouldn't have pay for my own food
Why are you like this?
you were so sweet before
You're supposed to kiss me good night
You're supposed to hug me close
you don't do any of that
who are you?
i just don't know anymore

The Frog

Comes to mind as another small
upheaval
amongst the rubble.
His eye matches exactly the bubble
in my spirit-level.
I set aside hammer and chisel
and take him on the trowel.

The entire population of Ireland
springs from a pair left to stand
overnight in a pond
in the gardens of Trinity College,
two bottle of wine left there to chill
after the Act of Union.

There is, surely, in this story
a moral. A moral for our times.
What if I put him to my head
and squeezed it out of him,
like the juice of freshly squeezed limes,
or a lemon sorbet?

With A 'Cup' Full Of Sugar

With a 'cup' full of sugar,
Reality will be squeezed out.
A reality will be squeezed out.
Yes,
A reality will be squeezed out.

And with a 'cup' full of sugar,
Reality will be squeezed out...
In every hopeful,
Pain...
Less,
Way!

No Guns

In a highly evolved society they do not have guns
They do not shoot animals for sport or fun.
They do not watch movies where killing is the story
they do not have movies that are even gory.
They have no pain body so they do not inflict pain-
they do not come from ego, fear, greed for financial gain.
Now our planet has a long way to go—
will we ever live in the Golden age which we are told?

The One And Only Immortal

Those who do love Nature are blessed indeed
For all of her friends our Earth Mother does need
The one every life form on Planet Earth does feed
Has been made to suffer due to human greed
The greedy for financial gain her beauty try to destroy
A beauty that is meant for all to enjoy
For their crimes humanity may have to pay
That does seem a sad thing for to have to say
The beauty of Nature is an amazing thing
And her praises one ought to feel happy to sing
The one who will be here long after to nothingness we've gone
The only immortal will be living on
And we who abuse her for our financial greed
Are not very clever and self destructive indeed.

We're Supposed To Do That Now And Then

(Dean Dillon/David Anthony/Joe Royer)
We had a silly quarrel over nothin'
Both got maddened and soon turned into somethin'
But we made up like we always do 'cause you love me
And I love you
And we're supposed to do that now and then
O' we're supposed to do that now and then
We'll have our little up's and downs
But we both now how it ends
We spend the night fallin' in love all over again
We're supposed to do that now and then
Baby, we're supposed to do that now and then
Now everybody has there share of problems
But everybody don't know how to solve 'em
We grow closer everyday
'Cuase we learn from those mistakes we made
And we're supposed to do that now and then
O' we're supposed to do that now and then
We'll have our little up's and downs
But we both now how it ends
We spend the night fallin' in love all over again
We're supposed to do that now and then
Baby, we're supposed to do that now and then

Dear Supposed Mom...

Dear supposed mom,
Where are you?
Where have you been all my life?
I thought I was lost and I really needed you.

Dear supposed mom,
Why did you leave me?
Why were you gone all my life.
I never thought that I could fell this betrayed by my family.

Dear supposed mom,
What did I mean in your life?
What did I do to make you hate me?
I'm sorry I caused you so much strife.

Dear supposed mom,
Who are you?
Who do you think you are?
Do you feel the same way I do?

Dear supposed mom,
When are you coming for me?
When do you plan on finding me?
I just want to have a real family.

Dear supposed mom,
I want to hear from you.
Dear supposed mom,
I hate you but I want to love you.

Hey, Wait A Minute

Hey, wait a minute something just aint right hey, wait a minute
Somethings just not fair
I was supposed to win the lottery
Im supposed to be a millionaire
Im supposed to be a worldwide tourist
With lots of equity and life insurance
Yes Im supposed to be a gold card member
Rubbin elbows with the big time spenders
Im supposed to be a wealthy man
But all Ive got are blistered hands
Hey, wait a minute!
Hey, wait a minute
Theres got to be a better way
Im workin twice as hard but gettin no richer
Than I was yesterday
Im supposed to drive a big mercedes
Live in a mansion full of naked ladies
Im supposed to own my own casino
Be a superstar like sammy, frank and dino
Some day Im gonna be a big success
And tell my boss to kiss my ass
Hey, wait a minute
Something must be wrong
Im supposed to be dining on caviar
And drinking dom perignon
Yes Im supposed to have open invitations
To classy country clubs all across the nation
Yes Im supposed to have jewelry and diamonds
And a fifty foot yacht I can sail around the islands
Im supposed to be so carefree
But all Ive got is misery
Hey, wait a minute
Somethings just not right

It Does Seem A Very Hard Thing To Explain

It does seem a very hard thing to explain
Why one person's loss is another one's gain
A downturn in the stockmarket millionaires to paupers does create
Whilst some from others loss gain and their good fortune celebrate
In a fair society this never would be
Though what's fair to you may not seem fair to me
That somebody's huge financial loss creates a new millionaire
That society is structured in this way to me seems unfair
'Tis an ill wind that does not blow somebody good you do hear some say
And sometimes lady luck behaves in the strangest way
But is this what the Human World is all about
For one for to win someone else must lose out
And that many must lose for a few for to gain
For to say the least seems a hard thing to explain.

The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they're supposed to like, what they're supposed to buy, and what they're supposed to laugh at.

Economic Turns

As the economy continues to turn, many investments fall and burn,
Fueled by an investor’s greed; moved to a want beyond their need.
Money itself is not what’s evil, or does it cause economic upheaval,
But man’s selfish drive for gain, which moves nations to fiscal pain.

It’s the love of money at the heart, of where problems get their start,
That love of money and more loot, that produces inside an evil root,
Seeding in hearts covetousness, far from The Lord’s Righteousness,
A lust and greed, leading men astray, down a dark and broader way.

Looking to be rich for financial relief, pierces a heart with much grief,
Filling a heart with worldly lust, for items destroyed by moth and rust.
While ignoring the things of God, affixing a heart on this earthly sod,
Losing all God’s perfect peace, for this world’s system, that’ll cease.

You can’t serve two masters friend, as only one will stand in the end,
Man cannot serve money and God, Christ said, with a confident nod.
Many griefs are wrapped in sorrow, vacillating from spend to borrow,
While the real thing spent is a life, being mastered, by financial strife.

Just how does it benefit men, to gain the world, but be condemned?
Even if your savings don’t fall, why gain the world to lose your soul?
For all the wealth that you see, will never witness the light of eternity,
While men that invest in the Lord, will continue with Him forevermore.
