I'm a religious man. I am Jewish but I believe in all religions. I believe in God and see him as an old man with a big white beard and pray to him every day for a few minutes.

While few religious leaders and scholars would doubt the commonalities that exist among the various religious groups, the followers of these religions unfortunately struggle in their effort to peacefully coexist.

A just laicism allows religious freedom. The state does not impose religion but rather gives space to religions with a responsibility toward civil society, and therefore it allows these religions to be factors in building up society.

I want to learn about a different religion. I grew up Catholic, but my grandfather was Jewish. Knowledge about other religions can help you understand your own better. I think it's kind of hypocritical to believe one thing and don't know about any others. A friend once told me it made her sad to think that if we were to pass away, I would go to heaven but our Jewish friend wouldn't because she doesn't believe in Jesus. That totally sent me over the edge! I'm happy with what I believe, but I'm open to the fact that there are people with different faiths, and they might be as passionate about theirs as I am about mine.

The maker is not to blame.

Men had been rational
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when the religions
Have made them mere sheep.

Men had been awaken
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when the religions
Have made them quite drowsy.

Men had been brotherly
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when the religions
Have bred the rivalries.

Men had been good in mind
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when with all the walls,
They have become perverts.

If what was intended
From what was made
Has not been the outcome,
The maker is not to blame.

Nothing Fails

I'm in love with you
You silly thing
Anyone can see
What is it with you
You silly thing
Just take it from me
It was not a chance meeting
Feel my heart beating
You're the One
You could take all this
Take it away
And I'd still have it all
Cause I've found the Tree of Life
And that is why
No longer scared if I fall
When I get lost in space
I can return to this place
Cause you're the one
(Chorus)
Nothing Fails
No more fears
Nothing Fails
You washed away my tears
Nothing Fails
No more fears
Nothing Fails
Nothing Fails
I'm not religious
But I feel so moved
Makes me wanna pray
Pray you'll always be here
I'm not religious
But I feel such love
Makes me wanna pray
When I get lost in space
I can return to this place
Cause you're the one
I'm not religious
But I feel so moved
Mmmm
I'm not religious
Makes me wanna pray
I'm not religious
But I feel so moved
Makes me wanna pray
Pray you'll always be here
I'm not religious
But I feel such love
Makes me wanna pray
(Repeat Chorus 2 x's)
Nothing Fails
Nothing Fails
No more fears

What Is A Jewish Poem?

WHAT IS A JEWISH POEM?

What is a Jewish poem?
‘Shema’ is a Jewish poem
Perhaps the Jewish poem-
'Shmoneh Esreh' is comprised of Jewish poems
Nineteen prayers as one-
Our history is filled with Jewish poems-
From the beginning with Abraham and Sarah
Those who have given so much beyond our understanding -
Jewish poems everywhere -

Is each Jewish life a poem and a story also?
Or is it only those who give something to our people and history
Who are worthy of Poetry?

I have known many Jewish poems
People the great world will not know the names of
People who whether they walked humbly or not
Made the lives of others better in some way –

Kindness is perhaps the ultimate Jewish poem
And Justice also-
And Jewish poems are not without their contradictions –

As I write this poem in Jerusalem in the land of Israel
I think of the small Jewish world of Troy New York where I came from so many years ago
And miss so many people no longer of that and this world –

Longing for Israel for two thousand years was the Jewish poem
Living here now is a blessing and a gift
I thank God for.

Mircea Eliade

The history of religions reaches down and makes contact with that which is essentially human: the relation of man to the sacred. The history of religions can play an extremely important role in the crisis we are living through. The crises of modern man are to a large extent religious ones, insofar as they are an awakening of his awareness to an absence of meaning.

Let Us All Prayfor Peace and Malala's Relief

Malala still in teen
Turned out to be a queen
With her strong desire and keen
To make a religious fanaticism clean

Her movement for education
Of women of a particular formation
Made the world think of reformation
But stood helpless with confrontation

At a tender age of eleven
She made her presence felt even in heaven
By her blog on education for women
Her thoughtfulness did many hearten

Effortlessly she won accolades for peace
Dreaming a world with no one to pierce
The coexistence of human beings on religious base
And help them live and love each other in one piece

She did meet most powerful men of the world
To further her cause for a release from religious fold
She was assured by all as she is mentally strong and bold
She succeeded in getting back her school and household

However, religious fanaticism is strong and stout
That managed to get her twice shot
And she is struggling to survive in an intensive care slot
Hopefully to come back to fight this dreadful fanatic plot

Let us all pray for her life
Let us all pray for a world with no religious strife
Let us all pray for wisdom among those who strike on religious belief
Let us all pray all gods we all know for peace and Malala's relief

Interview (Life Poem)

Shoes shined
Suit sharp
Shirt white?
Beard short
Breath fresh
Hair trimmed
Nervous sweat
Handshake firm
Remember names.

Three minutes is..
..all you’ve got
To win or lose..
..that new job.

Peace In Ireland And The Middle East

The Middle East is like Ireland in many many ways,
Each side totally committed to their own religious days,
Therefore in a way, it’s god that’s causing the problems over there,
One of the reason why their peace negotiations can go nowhere.

If we could get rid of all religions even just for a few years,
I know this would not be as easy as it appears here,
Because religious types don’t want to loose their place up front,
Therefore those in Ireland and the Middle East will confront.

Close down all mosques, churches and synagogues on a given date,
This no doubt would make it easier to have an honest debate,
Can you imagine the row and conflict that this alone might cause?
As they bring out the old books full of ancient religious laws.

A Mere Infidel

Life must be lonely for a mere infidel
One who does not believe in a heaven or a hell
On a god or a satan he does not believe
Yet he laugh and he smile and for lost love he grieve.

The religious zealots dismiss him as bad
Their thinking all wrong for them one must feel sad
The god that they worship and kneel to and pray
Has to be far more understanding than they.

Not part of a church group but at the local bar
He belts out a song as he strums on his guitar
With dark brown shoulder length hair and a dark brown beard
He does not look at all as one to be feared.

Some religious zealots dismiss him offhand
The true meaning of humanity they do not understand
He minds his own business and he does his own thing
And at the local he plays his guitar as he sing.

Saints

They raise up saints
in the religions I've known.
And then they carve them
in white marble stone.
What have they done
to deserve such praise?
Have they done anything more
than our poor earthly slaves?

It seems to me
that they're so far away.
Why do people pray to them
every single day?
Sainthood is saved
for holy ones,
not sisters, brothers and sons,
who may not be holy
but give up their lives.
Their white marble stone
never ever survives.

In His Hands

My soul is in the hands of God, not earthly men on earthly sod,
I have been bought by His Son, through the blood of only One.
In the Son alone, I take my stand, securely in the Father’s Hand.
A life in Heaven, I’m assured, not through religion, but my Lord.

And when I pray, I pray to Him, not to another one also with sin,
For I have access to His Throne, and He calls me His very own.
Religion is not what I profess, and to a priest, I do not confess,
As I have a Priest high above, who died for me, moved by love.

Religion did not save my soul, for it was Christ, who died for all,
All religions were diminished, when The Son said “It is Finished”.
Now all the work has been done, upon the cross by God’s Son.
I do not give mere men praise, as the Cross of Christ I will raise.

Only by Grace I’ve been saved, from a heart that’s so depraved,
Through this Grace I received, it was God’s Truth that I believed.
Saving Truth that sets men free, a Truth that flows from Calvary,
Freed of man’s religious rules, which only create religious fools.

I only have one Father in Heaven; all others are Spiritual Leaven,
Part of the coming apostasy, built through eyes that cannot see.
With Christ there’s no uncertainty, regarding my place in Eternity,
For the moment I leave this place, I shall be greeted by His face.

Through my journey in this life, I fix my eyes upon Jesus Christ,
Who opened them and my heart, with a Hope for when I depart.
A Hope, not on religious emptiness, but on His Righteousness,
Righteousness from God above, to save me by a Savior’s love.

Michelle Obama

If your family doesn't have much money, I want you to remember that in this country, plenty of folks, including me and my husband — we started out with very little. But with a lot of hard work and a good education, anything is possible — even becoming President. That's what the American Dream is all about. If you are a person of faith, know that religious diversity is a great American tradition, too. In fact, that's why people first came to this country — to worship freely. And whether you are Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh — these religions are teaching our young people about justice, and compassion, and honesty. So I want our young people to continue to learn and practice those values with pride. You see, our glorious diversity — our diversities of faiths and colors and creeds — that is not a threat to who we are, it makes us who we are.

How Do I Pray?

Pray, pray
How do I pray?
Usually at the
end of my day.

Pray, pray
For what do I pray?
I pray for peace
in everyone's day.

Pray, pray
To whom do I pray?
To my soul giver
that's not far away.

Pray, pray
Why do I pray?
For if there's a heaven
maybe someday

The praying was worth it
and then I'll know
where those that don't pray
will have to stay.
And pray and pray
and pray all day.
