21 - Victorian Poverty
A period of extreme poverty of the lower working classes
As they worked to the death the rich sat politely on their arses
London’s poor tried to scrape a living doing jobs the devil created
As the rich sat at their windows laughing at the pitiful souls they hated
The poor would have sooner died than enter the poor houses control
As it was not fit to harbor a single living human soul
Small boys were used to clean narrow sooted chimneys
While in the coal mines children worked on their hands and knees
Although this golden age pioneered many useful inventions
Children privileged to go to school were whipped instead of detentions
And as the poor worked for a life at every waking hour
The rich covered their stench with perfume and wild flowers
The poor had nothing and hardly anything to eat
While the rich enjoyed tea and honey and sherbet lemon sweets
In Victorian London the poor just lived and died
The rich never really noticed the rich never really cried
A period of extreme poverty of the lower working classes
As they worked to the death the rich sat politely on their asses

I moved out at 18. I always studied classes and trained a lot, you know. I think nowadays is such a different time because there's so many channels promoting the celebrity aspect of things.

The 'Poem A Day' Project ~ Day 135
I was at my art class studying shading
When a stranger caught my eye
They seemed to be doing their best evading
Glances from passers by
Sat at the back in dark glasses
And large coat and big floppy hat
I’d noticed them there in most of my classes
Looking quite rounded and fat
I wandered over to take a look
When something became very clear
And by great surprise I was took
It was an elephant shaking with fear
‘Don’t tell what I really am please
I want to learn this craft
But when I told the men on the trapeze
They just choked and laughed
The same was true for the whole circus
They didn’t think I was real
They do their best to deter us
Not caring just how we feel
I’ve always been the nervous sort
The big top never suited me
When the crowds gathered my only thought
Was to just turn and flee
But I was filled with a strong desire
A need to paint and create
It burned in me just like a fire
I knew that I could be great’
So I didn’t tell, though it was kind of funny
And he studied harder and moved himself on
And finally decided to make some money
And followed his fortune up to London
So if you are in London town
And getting your portrait done there
And the artist seems very grey and round
He’s nervous so please don’t stare

A small grey box
It was a small, grey box,
seldom noticed,
with a little silver key.
There was glitter
on the outside,
very festive,
not too much.
It didn't tell you,
you'd never guess,
well unless
you studied hard,
it was a very private box.
All he'd noticed
was the glitter.
Such a feminine box,
a decorative piece,
maybe a jewel box,
maybe not?
He'd picked it up
once or twice,
tried turning its key
but the key was stuck.
It was locked
tight shut.
Then one summer night,
while searching for
treasure
he stumbled upon it
and being lucky
turned the key
Magically, it opened
and out sprang
a heart,
pulsating with joy
to be found at last.
It clung to him
that turned the key,
never, no never
to set him free.
Such a needy heart
who'd been locked away
in a small grey box
from the light of day

Life As Sequencing
i was born on January of 1961
on the 29th day
i grew up in a little barrio
there were no books
but there were many trees there
then i was sent to a city school
studied hard and consistently
made to the top of the class
then i went to a university
studied the sciences, religion and the arts
lots of philosophy in there
and poetry
then i got employed
by some notable companies
where i earned money
where i got a name
where i learned the language of
diplomacy and survival
then one day, in noticed that in this
sequencing of my life
something has gone wrong
it is not the marriage
it is something else, it something that
you also know, the missing link
one that makes you wish
you were dead
one that makes you numb
the reason why you have sleepless nights
and lousy mornings
it is this link that gives you a feeling of loss
and grief
this emptiness that stays in your stomach
you are not hungry
you just feel it
it is the same feeling you have now
and you know very well why

The One
'Come over here' he said
'Let's you and me
talk private.
I've noticed you
noticing me
and I wonder if
that is illusion
and am I making it up
or if it is true
and you did
notice me.
If not fine
I'm gone.
If so
let's talk.
What is the truth?
She:
'Yes I noticed you-
I saw you;
I mean
but that is all-
I noticed'
He: 'Well what did you think of me
when you noticed me?
Did you like me? '
She: ,
'Like you?
I don't know you'
.
'Well what did you think.
Well I thought you, , , ,
Actually I didn't
I wasn't thinking
I was just noticing?
'
Ok, nothing
no spark?
'No, no spark.'
In my twenties i would look into every
face and ask
are you my Future One?
And each face I peered into
would be examined and evaluated
and ultimately graded
and done within 3 seconds.
But if one
noticed me
noticing
I would end up
in conversations
like the above one.

Third, for people who aren't doing it already, take classes - they're worthwhile. Workshops or classes - a workshop is where you do actually get feedback on your work, not just something where you go and sit for a day.

Another American Civil War
The rich are becoming richer than ever before
As the middle class is left expiring in its own gore.
Each day prices rise as people's confidence falls,
But wealthy are too busy to hear their desperate calls.
Rich are counting all the new money they're gaining
And can't believe that there's anyone complaining.
Like Medieval Times they live in castles behind walls,
Shielding them from the increasingly frantic calls.
As with their ancestors greed is the order of the day.
They have no interest in a poorer class with little say.
Only when downtrodden rise and demand their rights
Will walls fall and rich feel the pain of people's plights.
History is replete with middles classes becoming poor
Until they refuse to be ruled by the rich and declare war!

Algebraic Expression of Philippine Education System
A Student (self supporting or parent dependent)
Pays the tuition fee “X” equivalent to the number of classes “Y”
thus, the level of education (quantity = quality) .
However, the final grade “A”
is the difference of classes attended “Y” and absence “Z”.
Where:
X = Tuition Fee
Y = # of Classes
Z = # of Absences
A = Final Grade
A= X=Y
Y - Z
A Teacher (Instructor or Professor)
receives wage “W” equivalent to the number of Classes “C” attended.
Wage “W” is the difference of the classes “Y” and “D” absence.
Where:
C = # of Classes
D = # of Absences
W = Wage
W = ___C____
C – D
____________________________________
Let: X = B and Y = C
X = C and Y = B
But if:
Y and C ≠ X and B
What is the Difference and where does it go,
When it is not Refundable?
Y and C ≠ X and B
∞
∞ is the value of Philippine Education.
Where:
Q1 = Quantity
Q2 = Quality
Value = Quantity
Quality
∞ = Q1 ≠ Q2
When allocation is less than the need,
Try to ask INFINITY for the value of commercialized
EDUCATION = less budget
NEED!

Everybody gets everything handed to them. The rich inherit it. I don't mean just inheritance of money. I mean what people take for granted among the middle and upper classes, which is nepotism, the old-boy network.

You'd Be Making a Lot More Money
Why don't you go somewhere else,
Where you can become more 'noticed'.
'Noticed?
Noticed for what? '
What it is that you do.
'I don't know what you mean by that,
However...
What makes you 'think' I am not noticed? '
You can't be.
Not here.
'Oh...
I see where you're going with this.
You mean 'noticed' in a way,
That celebrities and stars are noticed'
Yeah, yeah...
Exactly.
'So you can say you know me?
Is that it? '
NAW!
So 'you' can be happy!
'And...
I'm not happy? '
You can't be!
'Why? '
Because you live 'here'!
'OH...
So I can not be happy,
Doing exactly what I choose to do...
AND live here.
Is that it? '
People don't have respect,
For someone like you...
Here!
'And what makes you think,
I am not accustomed to being disrespected?
That has nothing to do with what it is I do.
Nor my choice to live here.
I love what I do.
I love where I live.
I love the people I come in contact with.
Why would I choose to go somewhere else?
I can expect to get disrespected.
AND...
Check it out!
That has helped me achieve my success!
And I couldn't afford to get that anywhere else,
But right here.
That may seem foolish to you!
But my mama didn't raise no fools! '
You'd be making a lot more money!
'To have you calling me every five minutes,
To borrow some?
No thanks! '
