Life As Sequencing

i was born on January of 1961
on the 29th day
i grew up in a little barrio
there were no books
but there were many trees there

then i was sent to a city school
studied hard and consistently
made to the top of the class

then i went to a university
studied the sciences, religion and the arts
lots of philosophy in there
and poetry

then i got employed
by some notable companies
where i earned money
where i got a name
where i learned the language of
diplomacy and survival

then one day, in noticed that in this
sequencing of my life
something has gone wrong

it is not the marriage
it is something else, it something that
you also know, the missing link
one that makes you wish
you were dead
one that makes you numb
the reason why you have sleepless nights
and lousy mornings

it is this link that gives you a feeling of loss
and grief
this emptiness that stays in your stomach
you are not hungry
you just feel it

it is the same feeling you have now
and you know very well why

Agrarian Unrest....

my father is a landlord.
He sent me to a big university in the city.
I studied philosophy.

The university taught me about equality.
Compassion. We studied existentialism
The poverty of the masses.
The agrarian unrest.
The essence of man
The quality of life
Justifications of living
Explanations of death
After life.

I wrote a class report about a child who ate
only a handful of rice for breakfast
plus brown sugar as viand
and then a glass of water for his thirst
from the nearby river
and then he was left in the house
as his father works in the field
and his mother
sells vegetables in the market.

When i left the child, The
heavy silence of the world fell upon my shoulder.

One day father took me for a vacation in our land.
There are mountains. Lots of trees.
A beautiful place.

There is a house there
Dilapidated. A tenant lives there
There is a hungry child.
Drought. Long hot days.

I pity the poor condition. But i no longer ask for the cause.
Then the tenant asks me if i can give him land.
Or a part of father's land.

I have no answer.
I could have told him, I do not own anything,
I do not live here
and father is still alive...

And wants me to be firm and cruel.

So You Boil Down To Money

how long did it take you
to boil down
all about
you
things and people to money?

was it long enough
to find yourself
sitting on a bench
and then
think
of green bucks
and tell yourself

this is the real world
why did they not
tell me
in school

why was not
it studied
as a curriculum
in the university?

why did we study
religion
or ethics
or philosophy

when

when when everything is said and done
it is
after all the money that matters most of all

the more i have
that more i want to have
all these money

money talks
and so here you are listening,

got some you say, and it will take a lot of sentimentalism
to part
with some bucks, and mind you, just like them
all of them in this world

no one gives money
without something in exchange

you see,
that is the truth that you have discovered
and you are sticking to it

boil all your sentiments
and values and
let things simmer down
money, money

the flower of all evils,
now smell it

and think for a while
what life
will it give you

But It Makes Me Lots Of Money

Cigarette addiction kills people
But it makes me lots of money
It ruins their health
But it makes me lots of money
They cannot breathe properly
But it makes me lots of money
Their addiction causes them misery
But it makes me lots of money
A trillion cigarette butts pollute our earth daily
But it makes me lots of money
Cigarettes cause fires which burn many people to death
But it makes me lots of money
Parents buy cigarettes when their children need to eat
But it makes me lots of money
Cigarette smoke fills our bars and nightclubs, very unpleasant
But it makes me lots of money
Dirty ashtrays are disgusting
But it makes me lots of money
Why are you allowed to promote and sell such a disgusting product?
Because I've got lots of money

Poetry Is The Language Of Our Deepest Feeling

POETRY IS THE LANGUAGE OF OUR DEEPEST FEELING

Poetry is the language of our deepest feeling
It makes Beauty even of our Darkness
And shares with others our Light.

Without Poetry we would be less in life-
With it,
The inner anguish the soaring of the soul
Our real lives whatever they may be-
Find Meaning in Expression..

Opportunities

I've got the brains, you've got the looks
Let's make lots of money
You've got the brawn, i've got the brains
Let's make lots of -
I've had enough of scheming and messing around with jerks
My car is parked outside, i'm afraid it doesn't work
I'm looking for a partner, someone who gets things fixed
Ask yourself this question: do you want to be rich?
I've got the brains, you've got the looks
Let's make lots of money
You've got the brawn, i've got the brains
Let's make lots of money
You can tell i'm educated, i studied at the sorbonne
Doctored in mathematics, i could have been a don
I can program a computer, choose the perfect time
If you've got the inclination, i have got the crime
Oh, there's a lot of opportunities
If you know when to take them, you know?
There's a lot of opportunities
If there aren't, you can make them
Make or break them
I've got the brains, you've got the looks
Let's make lots of money
Let's make lots of -
(aahhhhh) money
(aahhhhh)
(aahhhhh - di du da di da bu di ba)
You can see i'm single-minded, i know what i could be
How'd you feel about it, come and take a walk with me?
I'm looking for a partner, regardless of expense
Think about it seriously, you know, it makes sense
Let's (got the brains)
Make (got the looks)
Let's make lots of money (oohh money)
(let's) you've got the brawn
(make) i've got the brains
Let's make lots of money (oohh money)
I've got the brains (got the brains)
You've got the looks (got the looks)
Let's make lots of money (oohh money)

A Clink For A Drink

Nick thinks and winks
Drinks his finks and makes a
Sync of what stinks
After seeing his shrink

Life is zinc
Not a pink mink
Had a hard dick
And a lip stick

The sky is rosy pink
And this is the data link
Rethink with a soft drink
What happens next
On that skating rink

A marking ink spic
The missing link
salmon pink prick
what a freak!

Painter Man

Went to college, studied arts
To be an artist make a start
Studied hard, gettin my degree
But no one seemed to notice me
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man
Tried cartoons and comic books
Dirty postcards could have done
Here was where the money laid
Classic art has had its day
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man
Did adverts for t.v.
Household shops and brands of tea
Labels all around the cans
Who wanna be a painter man
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man
La...la...la...la...la...la...
La...la...la...la...la...la...la...
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man

Never love again

The feeling of love as I look in her eyes
The feeling of grief every time she cries

The happiness I feel as she holds my hand
The feeling I get as we walk on the sand

The joy I feel as we embrace
Her in my arms makes my heart race

These feeling towards her I never felt
These feeling towards her makes my heart melt

The pain and sorrow I feel as she walks away
Pain and sorrow I feel because my heart broke that day

Numb

yeah this is how it ends
after all these years
tired of it all
hopelessly helplessly broken apart
he finally falls
he doesn't want to think
doesn't want to feel
doesn't want to know what's going on
says there's nothing he can do will change anything
he doesn't want to know what's going wrong
because he's in love with a drug
one that makes him numb
one that stops him feeling at all
he's in love with a drug
forget eveyone
he really doesn't care anymore
anymore...
yeah this is how it ends
after all this time
everything just fades away
worn-out and empty and all alone
with nothing left to say
oh it's all too big to make a difference
it's all too wrong to make it right
yeah everything is too unfair
everything too much to bear
he doesn't have the strength left for the fight
says all he wants is the drug
the one that makes him numb
the one that stops him feeling at all
he just wants to take the drug
forget everyone
he doesn't want to care anymore
just keeps loving the drug
the one that makes him numb
the one that stops him feeling at all
just keeps loving the drug
the drug that he's become
he isn't really here anymore...
and that makes me cry

Numb

I get this feeling inside.
It runs skin deep and cuts me to the core.
I feel so numb and life seem a shore.
The feeling is so deep.
Bring with it the dread that makes me want to weap.
But my emoitions are locked in deep.

Im drowning in misery.
I cant get afloat.
But I hide it all well.
Im so numb inside.

Numb numn numb.
Thats what I am.

Im waiting for the day when it'll all explodeD

Not Even The Trees

Alone as I sit and watch the trees
Wont you tell me if I scream will they bend down and listen to me
And it makes me wonder if I know the words will you come
Or will you laugh at me
Or will I run
Little boy says to me,
Where you goin now son
I said, I dont know where Im goin boy
I only know where Im from
And it makes me wonder
If the stars shine when my eyes close
Or does my brothers heart cry
I dont know
Im a stranger in my home
Now that everybodys gone
Someone please talk to me
Cause I feel you cry
And youre sitting with him
And I know Ill never see you again
Lying down in charleston under the carolina sky
You see Im tired of feeling this pain
Im tired of living my own little lie
And it makes me wonder
When I see you in my dreams
Does it mean anything
Are you trying to talk to me
Im a stranger in my home
Tell me are you feeling alone
Someone tell me what to do
cause Im feeling strong
And I wonder how you feel
Do you realize my pain is for real
I see you in my dreams
And I wonder if youre looking down at me
And smiling right now
I wanna know if its true
When he looks at me
Wont you tell me
Does he realize he came down here
And he took you too soon
And now my days are short an my nights are long
I lay down with memories of you keep that keep me going on, going on
It makes me wonder as I sit and stare
Will I see your face again
Tell me, do you care
Im a stranger in my home
Living life on my own
Right now I just cant see
cause Im feeling weak
And my sould begins to bleed
And no one is listening to me, not even the trees

Billy

Billy was a good friend of mine
We grew up together ever since we were nine
We went to school, he was my best friend
And I thought our friendship would never end
In high school he played football
And me, I didnt do anything at all
He made touch-downs, while I played pool
And no one could figure out which one of us was the fool
Then we both went to collage
He studied medicine while I studied foliage
He got as and I got ds
He was going for his ph.d.
Then I decided to drop out
Things were getting a little too hot
Billy stayed there, became an intern and then a doctor
Then war broke out and he had to go
But not me, I was mentally unfit, or so they say, so, so
When he came back, he wasnt quite the same
His nerves were shot, but not me
Last time I saw him, I couldnt take it anymore
He wasnt the billy I knew, it was like talking to a door
Billy was a friend of mine
I grew up with him ever since I was nine
We went together through school
And now I often wonder, which one of us was the fool

No One Makes Money From Poetry

'No one makes money from Poetry”

“No one makes money from Poetry
If you need Money get it somewhere else
If you live your life by poetry
Be rich from something else,
Or poor forever.
Or have a job on the side
Which is not on the side
Like Wallace Stevens

If you need money
Don’t give your life to poetry
Give your life to making money
Money and Poetry they are not made together.

Sick

I'm not aloud to get sick.
It's against the law.
It's against my religion.
A job that depends on me being their.
A survival of my current affair.
Feed some rice to a pigeon.
Faking a feeling of awe.
I feel like I have been hit in the head with a club like stick.

A headache that can't exist.
Lungs that should be breathing clearly.
And a stomach that should be able swallow anything.
A boss getting pissed.
A job I care about dearly.
And all else that's missing.

Hope in Heaven's Day

Grief be mine, I ask you so,
If not for you, I wouldn't know,
How life once was and then be still,
How so precious, that death do steal.
Because that grief, won't go away,
Learn to let it have its way.
The link to love, a precious one,
Is met with grief and still not done.
The days do come, and nights do go,
Grief will stay as time is so.
And so a loved one passes on,
And grief comes in and carries on.
Does grief get better, I will ask,
It's hard to say, while at its task.
There is grief to help us cope,
There is God to give us hope.
Grief will surely go away,
On that glorious heaven's day.
But while its here, there's just one thing,
Pray our Lord, for peace he'll bring.

Run, Run, Run

I was sitting in the field, feeling the grass.
Counting the stars as they come out.
Feeling (feeling) the breeze, (feeling the breeze)
Feeling (feeling) the spring. (feeling the spring)
Suddenly I noticed there wasnt light anymore.
Run, run, run, run, run to the light,
Run, run, run, run, run for your life.
I tumbled on roots, stumbled on stones.
Lost my marbles, stepped on my glasses.
Feeling (feeling) the air, (feeling the air)
Feeling (feeling) the wind. (feeling the wind)
Suddenly I noticed it wasnt fun anymore.
Run, run, run, run, run towards the light,
Run, run, run, run, run for your life.
I came out of the darkness into the house,
The lights were left on but nobody around.
Feeling (feeling) the room, (feeling the room)

A student's Diary

At the age of six we begin elementary
We had this fear or anxiety
When e reach the teenage years we
started secondary
And ended it with difficulty
We studied in a private school
Think it is very cool
We obeyed every school rule
And top in the honor roll

We studied very hard
Got high marks in our card
We maintain it, we took guard
Learning in high school is truly an art

So we entered a new stage
In college, we are now engage
In logic thinking towards new age
Ideas have flied like a bird out of its cage.

Ooh At Last

memories are poisons,
if they over lead your brain,
yet they are prisons,
with the floor rotten.

i remember pattens,
where i saw you always cool,
imagining you always like a fool,
it was funny, Joy, and cool,

i remember breaking my promises,
trying to avoid you over the school premises,
running out of the class sometimes,
recalling makes me feel real tense.

I saw your face no matter what a distance,
feeling how hard it was getting that chance,
making my ego feel it was my dance,
but always i was out of your fence,

your charm made me feel welcomed,
slowly, and naturally it was formed,
with anger face i was chased,
but again and again i knocked,

your anger reminded me your kindness,
that madness shown your true happiness,
your rising tones were actually harmless,
but was a candle in the cute darkness,

did i deserve to be with you? ,
and make my love in you?
no! my level won't count you,
i agree that in my heart too,

suddenly your going away,
i promise won't come on your wedding day,
i can't believe it's happening truly,
i will cry sometimes but not daily,

you just go with love Ney,
we may meet on January, June or may,
count me but never ever feel sorry,
good lucky you are gone at last anyway,

no matter what i say won't make it,
even power of love won't stop it,
your judgment has made it,
it is a loss i call it.
bye Ney

First Year University Expereinces

I learned why it is not wise to skip class often

I learned that skipping homework in university is not the same as skipping homework in high school

I learned what it feels like to be awake for over 2 days

I learned how to smoke pot from a bong

I learned how to compose an essay the day before it's due

I learned that the Freshman 15 is no joke

I learned how to do laundry

I learned to pretend to be happy

I learned to multitask

I learned to be more sociable

I learned why my parents and teachers warned me about the difficulty of university

I learned that failing is expensive

I learned small things, like freshly washed bed sheets, make me happy
I learned to lie

I learned how expensive alcohol is

I learned what it feels like to be a failure

I type this rant while skipping my business ethics class as I further delay the composition of my psychology term paper
