But the main thing is that medication, too, is not all the help.

The other thing is that if you rely solely on medication to manage depression or anxiety, for example, you have done nothing to train the mind, so that when you come off the medication, you are just as vulnerable to a relapse as though you had never taken the medication.

Medication
They think medication can make everything all right again
Isn't that a big joke
They think medication will make me happy and straight
Oh isn't that funny
They think medication will solve everything
Oh they're so wrong
Medication isn't the answer to all of life's problems
Believe me
Everyday you take your medication
Hoping your little problems will fade away
Everyday you swallow that japped little pill
Hoping you pain will go away,
but will it
They think medication can 'fix' me
Oh they're so wrong

The Main Thing
(ferry)
Look at my hand
Theres a soul on fire
You can lead me even higher
The main thing
Everybody knows
When a good things gone
You can really turn me on
The main thing
You run through here
With your words of sand
I can nearly understand
The main thing

Maybe Not Today But When That Medication Fades
I use to feel so bad about it.
I use to get so mad and doubt it.
When conversations turned to age.
And who had looks they thought would stay.
I use to feel so bad about it.
I use to feel so mad and doubt it!
When conversations turned to age.
And who had looks they thought would stay!
Right now,
I'm a little proactive than the rest.
Right now,
When I walk outside I'm there to exercise...
With a steadied pacing of determined steps.
And right now chronologically,
Nobody's getting younger.
And even those stunning....
Will see a Sunset,
On their youthfulness.
And an aging seems to creep up on the 'stunning ones'.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
They wish to run through life as if it's nothing BUT fun.
Maybe another day they will wish they didn't...
When that medication fades.
Putting off tomorrow what today should be done!
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
And they will someday gratefully pray.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
I use to feel so bad about it.
I use to get so mad and doubt it.
When conversations turned to age.
And who had looks they thought would stay.
And an aging seems to creep up on the 'stunning ones'.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
They wish to run through life as if it's nothing BUT fun.
To leave everything around them undone!
And they will someday gratefully pray.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
And they will someday rest and not have hourly played!
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
And they will learn to disobey doesn't really pay.
To wake up in resentment with time gone and spent! !
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
And they will learn one day to disobey doesn't pay.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
To wake up in resentment with time gone and spent! !
And this is a waste nobody has to witness!
But...
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
But...
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.
But...
Maybe not today but when that medication fades.

Wait
(jack hues)
Streetcorners seem designed to lie in wait
For a chance to get involved in lovers fate
And this one seems as good as any Ive seen
So wait here with me until six-fifteen
Chorus:
Im waiting for you
But youre very late
I know youll come anyway
And I can hardly wait
Evidently
Theres a difficulty
I know youll come anyway
And I can hardly wait
Wait
I see you approaching youre the eyes of the crowd
The traffic and people, God theyre all so loud
But in a couple of moments they will all disappear
Because were ever so close when were ever so near
Repeat chorus
Punctuality
Was never much to me
Being yourself is the main thing
Forget about the time
Forget about the time
Being yourself is the main thing
The main thing
The main thing love

Wearing And Tearing
It starts out like a murmur
Then it grows like thunder
Until it bursts inside of you
Try to hold it steady
Wait until you're ready
Any second now will do
Throw the door wide open
Not a word is spoken
Anything that you want to do
Ya know, ya know, ya know...
Don't you feel the same way?
Don't you feel the same way?
But you don't know what to do
No time for hesitatin'
Ain't no time for hesitatin'
ll you got to do is move
They say you're feeling blue, well
I just found a cure
It's a thing you gotta do, yeah
know, ya know, ya know...
Now listen:
You say your body's aching?
I know that it's aching
Chill bumps come up on you
Yeah, the funny fool
I love the funny fool
?Just like foolin' after school?
And then you ask for mediciation
Who cares for medication
When you've worn away the cure
Ya know, ya know, ya know...
Go back to the country
yeah, go back to the country
Feel a change is good for you
When you keep convincin'
Ah, don't keep convincin'
What's that creeping up behind a you?
It's just an old friend
It's just an old friend
And what's that he's got for you?
Ya know, ya know, ya know...
Do your dance do your dance do your dance
Oooooh, medication

Jesus Is The Main Man
Jesus is the main man.
That's it.
No more comments!
Jesus is the main man.
You can zip your parted lips, now!
Jesus is the main man.
Forget those pity stops at pits.
Jesus is the main man.
This you 'must' admit, now!
Jesus is the main man.
That's it.
No more comments on it made...
To degrade or say what else may fit.
Jesus is the main man.
Know this,
And get lifted quick!
Jesus is the main man.
Understand this as best you can.
Jesus is the main man.
Commanded when you pray,
Now!
Jesus is the main man.
That's it...
No need for further comments on it!
Jesus is the main man.
He's like a gift one gets,
To share unlimited!
Jesus is the main man.
It's hard to sit still,
When something received
Is known
To be real!

Strutting All Your Stuff On Main Street
On that avenue where your heartbreak is chased,
I follow you with wishes,
All your bitter kept feelings from you...
Fades away.
And I would see you,
Strutting all your stuff on Main Street.
I'd like to see you,
Strutting all your stuff on Main Street.
And with your head down like its been really tough,
Looking as if you're about to give life up...
But I wish,
You would 'dis' this to strut on Main Street.
Oh yes I miss you...
Strutting all your stuff on Main Street.
Just know I've done a boo-hoo too!
And that didn't do a thing to prove,
Anybody noticing would rescue...
Me from my grief to free it.
A public boo-hooing is not cool.
Since nobody will undo,
Your heartbreak that is felt.
Nobody else but..
Yourself to get over.
On that avenue where your heartbreak is chased,
I follow you with wishes to replace,
All those bitter feelings that you face...
To fade them away from your mind to stay,
And I'd see you...
Strutting all your stuff on Main Street.
Oh yes I miss you,
Strutting all your stuff on Main Street.
And I really want to see you,
Just strutting all your stuff on Main Street.
I'd like to see you,
Just strutting all your stuff.
With an attitude,
That you can't flaunt enough.
And doing that with a strutting that you do,
On Main Street.
I'd like to see you...
Strutting all your stuff on Main Street

I think the smartest thing for people to do to manage very distressing emotions is to take a medication if it helps, but don't do only that. You also need to train your mind.

It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication and a government bureaucracy to administer it.

Medication
Medication for us all, it is a new way
& we're gonna take it cause wa love it
Don't you know?
Is this the dose you've been dreamin' of?
A revelation from a gun
Doesn't matter
Overtaken, mine was yours, now overthrown
Just copulation in a song
I'm so contagious, can i come?
In the new way
All of us cast asides became what has become
Medication for us all
You think you know me, well you're wrong
Doesn't matter
All of us cast asides became what has become

Main Street
(For S.M.L.)
I like to look at the blossomy track of the moon upon the sea,
But it isn't half so fine a sight as Main Street used to be
When it all was covered over with a couple of feet of snow,
And over the crisp and radiant road the ringing sleighs would go.
Now, Main Street bordered with autumn leaves, it was a pleasant thing,
And its gutters were gay with dandelions early in the Spring;
I like to think of it white with frost or dusty in the heat,
Because I think it is humaner than any other street.
A city street that is busy and wide is ground by a thousand wheels,
And a burden of traffic on its breast is all it ever feels:
It is dully conscious of weight and speed and of work that never ends,
But it cannot be human like Main Street, and recognise its friends.
There were only about a hundred teams on Main Street in a day,
And twenty or thirty people, I guess, and some children out to play.
And there wasn't a wagon or buggy, or a man or a girl or a boy
That Main Street didn't remember, and somehow seem to enjoy.
The truck and the motor and trolley car and the elevated train
They make the weary city street reverberate with pain:
But there is yet an echo left deep down within my heart
Of the music the Main Street cobblestones made beneath a butcher's cart.
God be thanked for the Milky Way that runs across the sky,
That's the path that my feet would tread whenever I have to die.
Some folks call it a Silver Sword, and some a Pearly Crown,
But the only thing I think it is, is Main Street, Heaventown.

Keeping the Main Thing Primary
Keeping the Main thing Primary
Does it work?
Or, Is it right?
Which is the main question in YOUR life?
Will it help equipment, issues, and relationships...work out or not
Or is it the right thing for me, or us, for God.
Does it work?
Is it right?
Which is the primary question of your life?

Medication
Wake me up wise by morning
I want to breath the day
This is my final warning
Keep all the clouds away
[chorus]
We've taken, medication
So we can run away from
Another day
I feel alive, I'm falling
We dance until the morning closed our eyes
I would love to stay here and never have to go
And no one in the world would ever know
[chorus]
We will never, never know, never know
I feel the dream is real, watch it go, go
I blink and then another day is gone
I feel the dream that we've been hiding from
We've taken, medication
So we can run away from
The things that pain us, pain

The most important thing is that it's much more fun to play in a band than to be in an audience in a club. That's the main thing I think, that you can do it.
Example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing.
