Congress seems drugged and inert most of the time... its idea of meeting a problem is to hold hearings or, in extreme cases, to appoint a commission.

Back in the mid-1980s, congressional hearings were held after we brought this litigation, and held up the first experiment. At that time, I went in front of Congress, along with the major agencies involved with this.

An Idea
An Idea can change the world, how many
things can be done from an idea, every piece
of object was an idea, sense the beginning of
time idea was the first thought created in the
mind, an idea is what surround’s every being.
But an idea is still only an idea and it can't be
felt, you cannot touch an idea or kiss it, or hold it,
ideas do not bleed or feel pain or love, an idea
cannot be seen or heard, its created in our thoughts,
but then again an idea can become real. An idea
can be what ever you which it to be, an idea can
be destructive, an idea can be brilliant, I've seen
people get killed in the name of ideas, ideas,
we walk around with a little
light bulb blinking in our thoughts, ideas.

B Who U Wanna B
Slow motion when my feet touch the ground
You stop believing everything will be alright
When you face the world, youve got to pay a certain price
You are horrified, tranquilized
Every second counts
You can b who u wanna b
Just hold on to your fantasy
You can b who u wanna b
Just let go of reality
If you feel you are blocked
Begin with yourself, facing up
Whatever it takes, look inside
No matter what it takes
Blank out time and space and feel
All connections flow into place
You have a choice, a new beginning
You can b who u wanna b
Just hold on to your fantasy
You can b who u wanna b
Just let go of reality
There is safety in derision
I talk about my vision
The trouble of defection
The comfort of affection
Wiegh me down and not a day
Experience recalled
My mind appalled
What do we know
What do we show
Is there something to be said ?
Hit the ground, not a sound
Is strong enough to lift me up
Put me down, fix me up
Love will hold it
Love will hold it
Dropping out of sky and rock
Drugged by love, a system shock
Catch me up, cos time will tell
If love will hold it
Love will hold it
Love will hold it
Hush, I lost my theme
Of original sin
Extremities. reality
Leave the things that seem
Dropping out of sky and rock
Drugged by love, in state of shock
Distorted days, distorted ways
Not worth thinging of
Dropping uot of sky and rock
Drugged by love in a state of shock
Love will hold it
Love will hold it

Make Me Know It
(words & music by otis blackwell)
You say that you love me
And swear it to be true
But if you care to come over here
And make me know it do
Come on now, make me know it
Then go ahead and show it
But if you care to come over here
And make me know it do
You say youve got kisses
And swear that theyre brand new
I think thats fine if you aint lyin
But make me know it do
Come on now, make me know it
Then go ahead and show it
I think thats fine if you aint lyin
But make me know it do
You wont have no trouble proving it to me
Come right along youll find me
Helpful as can be
You say you wanna hold me
And stick to me like glue
Well hearings deceiving
And seeings believing
Make me know it do
Come on now, make me know it
Well go ahead and show it
I say hearings deceiving
Seeings believing
Make me know it do
You wont have no trouble proving it to me
Come right along youll find me
Helpful as can be
You say you wanna hold me
And stick to me like glue
Well hearings deceiving
And seeings believing
Make me know it do
Come on now, make me know it
Well go ahead and show it
I say hearings deceiving
Seeings believing
Make me know it do
Oh make me know it
Then go ahead and show it
Make me know it
Then go ahead and show it

Hold Me In Your Arms
Rick astley
Weve been trying for a long time
To say what we want to say
But feelings dont come easy
To express in a simple way
But we all have feelings
We all need loving
And who would be the fool to say, that if you
Hold me in your arms
I wont feel better
If you hold me in your arms
We can brave this storm together
We both know theres a problem
A problem that weve got to face
So put your trust in me, lover
No-ones ever gonna take your place
cos we all have a problem
We all have fears
But theres always got to be a way
Yes we all have feelings
We all need loving
And you would be a fool to say, that if you
Hold me in your arms
I wont feel better
If you hold me in your arms
We can brave this storm together
(solo)
You only have to hold me
Touch me to make me feel so good
You only have to hold me
Feel me
To make me feel the way you know I should
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
When you gonna hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
Hold me in your arms
(instrumental to fade)

We're novices. We have friends now who are part of the freshman class who in some cases have run for Congress two and three times before they won their seat.

In no victory do they glory so much as in that which is gained by dexterity and good conduct without bloodshed. In such cases they appoint public triumphs, and erect trophies to the honour of those who have succeeded; for then do they reckon that a man acts suitably to his nature, when he conquers his enemy in such a way as that no other creature but a man could be capable of, and that is by the strength of his understanding.

Meeting Again
Meeting again when time goes fast,
meeting again when time won't last.
A look at the wrist to check the time,
a glance in the mirror to see if I'm
alright from this.
Already I miss the time that will crawl.
Keep the memory alive. You must not fall
into a saddened, depressed state.
You will continue to wait and wait
for a meeting again when time goes fast,
a meeting again that will not last.

Make An Effort
Matter is always inert;
dense shadowy stuff
that resists the shining.
Leave the puppet
to its own devices
and how will it ever
get out of its box?
Who then is there
to make an effort?
And with what force
from where obtained?
The child, the kitten, the puppy
have no idea
that there are efforts
to be made.
Simmering with energy,
breathing through the joints and strings,
they almost make the puppet fly
with pure enthusiasm.
By what deity
are they then possessed?
Growing older,
fires colder,
energy wanes,
puppet pains,
lies down
in its box.
Shadowy
and inert.

Revetted In Disbelief
From a serious point of view,
Who do you think would best represent...
The mood of the people and their concerns.
And remember...
This is your chance to influence those,
Who are not aware...
Of the firm grasp you have on their problems.
And the intentions you will undertake,
To appoint those most qualified.
'Well...
I do know this,
People have grown tired of current policies.
First I would appoint,
Uh...gee...I just had the name on the tip of my tongue.
HECKEL. That's it.'
Interesting.
And your next two candidates would be?
'I had no idea these debates were this pressuring.
My second nominee would be...
Uh,
You know what's odd?
Last night I was just reviewing their credentials too.
How embarrassing.
Oh!
Jekyll and Hyde.'
I see.
And a...
Would you have happened to be watching TV,
When assessing the landscape of concerns?
'Assessing the 'who' of the 'what?
That TV was going on in the background.
But I am a very focused and dedicated individual.
With a plan I have customized for today's needs.
The people will soon know the true me.'
Thank you for your response.
Now your views on the economy.
You have the audience revetted in disbelief.
Leaving some too overwhelmed to breathe.
You are definitely on a roll.
And...
One of the best dressed I have seen in quite some time.

From the best material money can buy.'

Problems
Too many problems, oh why am I here?
I need to be me, cause youre all to clear
And I can see theres something wrong with you
Oh, what do you expect me to do?
At least I gotta know what I wanna be
Dont come to me if you need pity
Are you lonely, you got no-one
You got your body in suspension
Thats a problem, problem, problem
The problem is you
Eat your heart out on a plastic tray
You dont do what you want and you fade away
You work for me, youre working nine-to-five
Its too much fun of being alive
Im using my feet for my human machine
You work for me, living for the screen
Are you lonely, all needs catered
You got your brains dehydrated
Problem, problem, problem, the problem is you
Oh what what you gonna do, problem, problem
Problem, problem, problem, the problem is you
Well, what you gonna do with your problem
The problem is you, problem
I aint death trip, but I aint automatic
You work for me, just stay ecstatic
Dont you give me any orders
To people like me, there is no order
Bet you thought you had it all worked out
Bet you thought you knew what I was about
Bet you thought youd solved all your problems
But you are the problem
Problem, problem, problem, the problem is you
Oh, what you gonna do with your problem?
Ill leave it up to you, oh problem
The problem is you, you got a problem
Oh what you gonna do?
They know a doctor, gonna take you away
Thay take you away and they throw away the key
They dont want you and they dont want me
You got a problem the problem is you
Problem, well, what you gonna do?
Problem, have you got a problem?
Problem, well you got a problem
Problem (x17)

Afraid To Crack
soon there is no use of your fear
in due time
you crack
extreme heat
extreme cold
like a seed
your mind cracks
but do not lose hope
my dear
we all crack
on extreme pain
on extreme joys
we give room
for the seed
to grow
just wait
just wait

Extremes, though contrary, have the like effects. Extreme heat kills, and so extreme cold: extreme love breeds satiety, and so extreme hatred; and too violent rigor tempts chastity, as does too much license.

We're Busy At The Moment
'Your call is important to us so please hold the line, '
Because up here in Ottawa we feel up on top and very divine,
And you are probably one of those who didn’t bother to vote,
That’s fine with us so I think we’ll have to put you on remote.
We’re going to appoint some Supreme Court judges early next week,
And more senators after that which you never can critique,
Then of course, we’ll appoint some members of the parole board,
They are all excellent establishment members and now they’ve scored.
Propositions and binding referendums, as you know are banned,
No recall or influence on politicians with slight of hand,
Proportional representation is out for first past the post,
We’re busy at the moment and we’re totally engrossed.
