'Humph' grunted Mr. Romford, seeing his worst fears about to be realized. He had dreamt that he had timbled over a poodle in the drawing-room, and squirted a bottle of porter right into a lady's face. 'Who's goin' besides ourselves' asked Romford, wishing to know the worst at once. 'Better be killed than frightened to death,' thought he.

Where Is She?

Where is she, I wondered, when she wasn't there.
If she's not here she could be anywhere. She could be
anywhere and not alone.
I began to imagine the worst. At every imagining
I thought I had imagined the worst, then I imagined
something even worse. It got to the point where my
imaginings no longer included her. I realized that the
worst did not encompass her. As my imaginings continued,
as worst superseded worst, making the preceding worst
only worse, I began to forget her. As worst got worse,
I forgot her more. Things were getting pretty bad, and
I had almost forgotten her completely, when she
reappeared.

Your Own Worst Enemy

Its your own worst enemy
Ringing the bell on the door
And the person inside says nobodys home
So your own worst enemy peeks inside
And sees you softly weeping as some music fills the room
And the song they play
Is that guy with the messed up face
Going, precious and few are the moments that you
And your own worst enemy share
Full bottle in front of me
Time to roll up my sleeves
And get to work
And after many glasses of work
I get paid in the brain
And the song they play
Is that guy with the messed up face
Going, precious and few are the moments that you
And your own worst enemy share
And the song they play
Is that guy with the messed up face
Going, precious and few are the moments that you
And your own worst enemy share
Its your own worst enemy

Original - Time, My Worst Enemy

Time, My Worst Enemy
Keeping me away from you
Time, My Worst Enemy
Moving slowly when we’re apart

Time, My Worst Enemy
Fleeting when you are near
Time, My Worst Enemy
Battling with it daily

Time, My Worst Enemy
Stealing moments from the clock
Time, My Worst Enemy
Until you are in my arms again

Time, My Worst Enemy
Rapidly chasing us down
Time, My Worst Enemy
He will not take you this time

Time, My Worst Enemy
You are in my arms to stay
Time, My Worst Enemy
Has Lost!

Need A Lady

Tiran porter
Well, Ive had some thought in a loving direction
I want to be the part of someone affection
Been alone too long, my head hangin low
Theres no one to see and no place to go
Need a lady
Drive me crazy
Come with me and surely well be free
I walk the streets in the dead of night
Wishing for some lovin arms to hold me tight
But its always down to my old guitar
Thats all that keeps me from the bars
I need a, need a lady
Need a lady
Like the lady from tennessee

Suffocation

Last night I had the weirdest dream
I dreamt that I was lying in bed
With this girl whose hair was
As black as the night and as
Thick as a forest,
And her hair, her hair was
Smothering me
Or at least, I thought it was
Her hair,
Until I noticed it was her hands
Running over my face,
My lips
My eyes
My cheeks.
As hot as the desert
And smooth as silk
But pressing down
Pressing me into my pillow
Until I could see nothing
But the pink of her skin
And I thought,
Im gunna die
Those hands are gunna
Kill me
Until I realized really,
It wasn’t hands,
But lips,
Sucking the air from mine
Engulfing my last breath
And drawing it into her being
And I thought, well,
At least lips are
A nice way to go
Until finally I came
To my goddamn senses
And I realized,
I realized it wasn’t her lips
But the words coming
From those sweet lips
That was suffocating me
And it was “I love you”
I was choking on
Not her hair, hands or lips
At all.

Baby, put your hand, you wanna be with someone, cant afford to be
Lay your hand with me, Im too lazy to put my hand,
I wanna be somewhere, cant afford to stay
Let me drive you away, girl, because
Lately, were goin through a run of bad luck
Shes goin crazy, she only thinks the worst about us
I said please, please, please chill out,
It aint exactly easy for me
More than that, its for you, lay your head, girl
Lately I put my hand, I had to do something I couldnt afford to do
But its all I love to you, to be lazy
Put your hand, you wanna be somewhere you cant afford to stay
Let me drive you away, because
Lately, were goin through a run of bad luck
Shes goin crazy, she only thinks the worst about us
I said please, please, please chill out,
It aint exactly easy for me
More than that, its for you,
When I look back, how things have changed
With patience, thought and restraint
I never thought it would go
Lay your head with me
Lay your head with me
Ooh, because
Lately, were goin through a run of bad luck
Shes goin crazy, she only thinks the worst about us
I said please, please, please chill out,
It aint exactly easy for me
Or in that case, for you,
When I look back, how things have changed
With patience, thought and restraint
I never thought it would go
Lay your head with me
Lay your head with me
Lay your head with me
Lay your head with me

I Dreamt Of Her

I dreamt of her and she was in my room,
You dreamt of him and he was in your room,
I dreamt of you and you were in my room,

But, this muse of love is all about us.

The Big Light

Well I had a little feeling to have a big night
And woke up feeling small and not so brave and not quite right
I had to face the who am I and where is she and what did I do
But worst of all I had to face the big light

The big light came through my window and it opened up my eyelids
And it snapped them up like roller blinds and told me things that I did
I cant face another day and night of good ideas and complications
And Im thankful that I didnt open another bottle of inspiration
When the hangover this morning had a personality
And I cast my shattered mind over selected memories
I didnt even touch the light switch so I knew Id never see
The haggard face that would be staring back at me

Well I had a little feeling to have a big time
And I woke up to alarm bells like a big church chime
I had to face the who am I and who is she and what did I do
But worst of all I had to face the big light

Wishing Death

u've left me w nothing more

wishing death

i feel these hurts

they are my own

wishing death

i cry silent tears

they dnt come out down my face

they come out in anger

fear

silence

this desolate place i call my own.

i'm wishing death

it's calling my name

i shall never forget its lasting voice

the tears are finally coming

i've decided

wishing death

tht u will remember my face

red and angry

with silence all around

my eyes a glassy stare tht penetrates ur mind

makes u think

wishing death..

Wishin' I Was There

Take your hand
And place it in my pocket
Flick your eyes back in their sockets
Put those thoughts away
Sometimes they're much too loud.
I'll take a breath
And cradle your sweet head
Should've stayed at home in bed
Put that face away
I'm melting for you
[chorus]>[/chorus]
I dreamt
About another girl in bed with you
You just laughed and smiled
Denied the proof
We're fine 'till I think of the problem (heh)
I wish it made sense
Like a joke that no one gets
It's a life without regret
I want it to feel that way, forever and ever
[repeat chorus]
No, don't say you love me
Don't say you need me
I really don't think that's fair
Oh, I'm not so dumb
But when you leave me
I'll be wishing I, wishing I, wishing I was there with you
Wishing I, wishing I, wishing I was there
Wishing I, wishing I, wishing I was there with you

Dentist Chair (Fun Poem 99)

Everyone hates the dentist
some much more than me.
Just the thought of the drill
and the light in your eyes
puts the chills up me.

One of my worst encounters
of the dentist chair came in the 1960’s
when a cold in a tooth made my face swell
on one side like a melon
and I could only drink through a straw.
They knocked me out to remove the tooth.
Having no recovery room
they put me back in the waiting room
and sat me in a chair out there.
It was the dawn of the plastic moulded ones
and the one I sat on was so slippery
I kept slipping down.
I mumbled aloud about the dentist being no good.
Some of his patients took one look at me
and decided I was right, then made a hasty exit
from the waiting room.
With the side of my face swollen to the size of a melon
I can understand why.

Another encounter with a dentist
was quite a few years later.
A different dentist with a wholly different approach.
He was having his waiting room decorated
and I was the only one there.
He came in with a Cheshire grin across his face.
“Mr Harris, do you mind if this gentleman
takes out your teeth today? ”
Being I and thinking it was a student,
I said I didn’t mind.
The dentist then said, “He is my interior decorator.”
The smile still implanted on his face.
I nearly ran out of there.

Now the third tale concerns my wife
and she fears the dentist even more than me.
She had an appointment
and when we arrived,
the surgery was closed for lunch.
We went for a little walk
and all the cars we passed had dents in the side.
“See that.” I said.
“Yes.” She replied.
“That’s what the dentist does
when he can’t get his own way.”
As we approached, a corner
there was a church on the other side.
“Why don’t you nip in there for a quick pray
that the dentist doesn’t come back? ”
She thumped me I wonder why.
As we walked back to the surgery I assured her,
that everything was going to be OK.
They calm you as soon as you walk in.
She looked at me suspiciously and asked how?
They have a big mallet just above the door
and bop you on the head as you walk in.
Your teeth fall out in the process
and the job is done.
Now I wonder why she has never asked me
to go to the dentist with her again.

Lucky santa! ! (A funny story)

Santa goes into his son`s room to wish him goodnight. His son is having a nightmare - Santa wakes him and asks his son if he is OK? The son replies he is scared because he dreamt that his aunt had died. Santa assures the son that Auntie is fine and sends him to bed.
The next day, Auntie dies. One week later, Santa again goes into his son`s room to wish him goodnight. His son is having another nightmare - Santa again wakes his son. The son this time says that he had dreamt that his grandmother had died. The father assures the son that she is fine and sends him to bed.
The next day, grandmother dies. One week later, Santa again goes into his son`s room to wish him goodnight. His son is having another nightmare, he again wakes his son. The son this time says that he had dreamt that his daddy had died. The father assures the son that he is OK and sends the boy to bed.
Santa goes to bed but cannot sleep because he is so terrified. The next day, Santa is scared for his life- he is sure is going to die. After dressing he drives very cautiously to work fearful of a collision. He doesn`t eat lunch because he is scared of food poisoning. He avoids everyone for he is sure he will somehow be killed. He jumps at every noise, starts at every movement and hides under his desk.
After days work, upon walking in his front door, he finds his wife, Jeeto, 'Good God, Dear, ' he proclaims, 'I`ve just had the worst day of my entire life! '
Jeeto responds, 'You think your day was bad, this morning my ex-boyfriend dropped dead on the front steps! '

The Worst Time

Horizontal rain peppers my hair
Broken mirrors laugh somewhere
Hurried feet melt with the street
Escaping heat begs for a sheet

The worst time, the blackest yet
Litters my mind, What did I get

Awoken in a room I knew too well
Jaring senses; an unfamiliar smell
New eyes, new hair filling everywhere
Chest demanding air, anywhere elsewhere

The worst time, my darkest ever
Clutters my mind, I swore I'd never

The worst time yet
What did I get

Diary Of a Divorcee

And the words keep ringing in my head
She says she cannot take it anymore
She says she is losing her head
I feel I am the worst of all
We had thought of going from black to grey
But for our guitar strings cut in two

She wants the lines signed again
I think of smiles at the first sign
And hate to have it signed with hate
I feel I am the worst of all
We had thought the merger was till death
But for our guitar strings cut in two
