Loyalty is a fine quality, but in excess it fills political graveyards.

Loyalty to the family must be merged into loyalty to the community, loyalty to the community into loyalty to the nation, and loyalty to the nation into loyalty to mankind. The citizen of the future must be a citizen of the world.

Connected To Politics
Am I political?
That's a strange question to ask,
By someone who also pays.
Religiously,
A tax of some kind to the government.
And those who express,
They want the government.
Out of their lives,
Only do so to hear their own voices.
Now.
If you had asked 'if' I was upset,
Because my taxes paid.
Has not increased my quality of life,
We both would be in agreement.
And on the same page!
Wouldn't we?
Am I political?
Every human being walking this Earth,
Is connected to politics.
Whether they vote, emote or become provoked,
Somebody with political ties.
Will not hide they are trying to get into their pockets.

The quality of mercy (conditions apply)
The quality of mercy,
Portia declared,
the quality of mercy is
suspended during the present conflict
the quality of mercy is
not the business of a Minister of Justice
the quality of mercy is
not a matter of individual conscience
the quality of mercy is
too subtle for public discussion
or law
the quality of mercy is
only for Shakespeare and stuff
the quality of mercy is
less stimulating than revenge
the quality of mercy is
no business of yours
the quality of mercy is
no concern of religious authorities
who should stay silent
the quality of mercy is
an outdated concept
the quality of mercy is
nothing to do with forgiveness
or circumstantial evidence
or the remission of sins
the quality of mercy is
no longer a matter of pride
the quality of mercy is
no longer a mark of humanity
the quality of mercy
would be OK if Obama said so
the quality of mercy
is one hell of a hot potato
cooked in oil
the quality of mercy
droppeth as the gentle
dew from heaven
upon a broken fuselage
and it is too much
or too little
for our understanding.

Frozen Chicken
Frozen chicken,
Venturing,
Rationale,
Political,
Conforms,
Standards,
Quality,
Major,
Integrated;
Because your name was withheld!
But the constraint around today is like a political power;
And the innocence of your love is now noted by the elders of the town!

As Genuine As Those Who Know It
Whether it becomes displayed,
Or laid in the shadows to dust...
Quality is eventually discovered.
And known to show what it is.
Quality dusted never ages to rust.
No matter what attempts are made,
By those unappreciative of its value.
A quality that remains to be quality,
Is as genuine as those who know it!
Regardless of what rating it gets.
Quality can not be rated against,
That which it has no peers.

Children of Our Age
We are children of our age,
it's a political age.
All day long, all through the night,
all affairs--yours, ours, theirs--
are political affairs.
Whether you like it or not,
your genes have a political past,
your skin, a political cast,
your eyes, a political slant.
Whatever you say reverberates,
whatever you don't say speaks for itself.
So either way you're talking politics.
Even when you take to the woods,
you're taking political steps
on political grounds.
Apolitical poems are also political,
and above us shines a moon
no longer purely lunar.
To be or not to be, that is the question.
And though it troubles the digestion
it's a question, as always, of politics.
To acquire a political meaning
you don't even have to be human.
Raw material will do,
or protein feed, or crude oil,
or a conference table whose shape
was quarreled over for months;
Should we arbitrate life and death
at a round table or a square one?
Meanwhile, people perished,
animals died,
houses burned,
and the fields ran wild
just as in times immemorial
and less political.

The yoked soul
Is loyalty to be a good quality?
It forbids you to pity the dissidents.
It forbids you to differ from the confidents.
You render yourself a yoked soul.

The unique personality which is the real life in me, I can not gain unless I search for the real life, the spiritual quality, in others. I am myself spiritually dead unless I reach out to the fine quality dormant in others. For it is only with the god enthroned in the innermost shrine of the other, that the god hidden in me, will consent to appear.

Great Mission
The jungle near manaus
The amazonas full of piranhas
The birds of paradise
Disappear into the green desert
For years and years
We are hungry and desperate
For the only thing worth living
The excess
We end our great mission
Exhausted and sad
And there is no hope left
When suddenly
In a cloud of golden smog
The father of excess
Jumps out of the water of
The amazonas full of piranhas
And screams to the lost souls
What are you doing at the amazonas
Leave manaus full of piranhas [burp!]
You will not find excess in the jungle
And then
He opened the green curtain
Made of fleshy leaves and said
I show you the excess of the
Asphalt a montmartre
The excess of the belly-dance
In abu dhabi
And the excess of the everlasting night in manhattan [burp!]
Are you ready for the sensation del tango a rosario?
Leave him, the gorilla
Leave the jungle of the amazonas
Leave manaus full of piranhas
And follow father excess...

Wine can only be drunk once
Fine wine, unlike fine poetry.
Must be given time to mature,
selected for its quality.
You must be absolutely sure.
To store it very carefully
undisturbed perhaps for years.
I much prefer fine poetry
which rings like music in my ears.
Dependent on your taste of course.
My ears drink in well spoken verse.
My taste in wine is rather coarse
but it is easy on my purse.
I read fine poetry for free
from books stored in my library.

Forget About Tomorrow
Calling, distorting
Reach the ends for you
Burn a hole right through
Talking, we keep talking
Filling empty space
In this lonley frame
As the image fades in to one
(chorus)
Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind
Cant think about tomorrow
Just breathe the air inside
And bring on back that lonely smile
Cant think about tomorrow...
Twisting, constricted
On the edge for you
You know Id jump right through
Falling, we keep stalling
I can see the ground
Someplace new to land
As the image fades into one
Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind
Cant think about tomorrow
Just breathe the air inside
And bring on back that lonely smile
Cant think about tomorrow
Cant think about tomorrow...
Because you, feel yourself
Fall apart again
You hold your face inside your aching hands
The angels tears come flooding down again
Bring us back again
Yearning, returning
To this empty street
As the city sleeps
Tearing, dispairing
As the day comes in
As the morning sings
As the image fades into one
(chorus)
Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind
Cant think about tomorrow
Just breathe the air inside
And bring on back that lonely smile
Cant think about tomorrow
Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind
Cant think about tomorrow (x 2)

Very Fine Love
(bob dipiero / jim photoglo)
I never knew how good love could be
All Id ever known was make believe
So many times Ive played the fool
Baby, til I met you
Now everything has fallen in place
You can tell by the smile on my face
For every lonely tear that Ive cried
Im that much satisfied
Weve got a fine, fine, very fine love
Weve got a fine, fine, very fine love
You know it when you find one
Shining like a diamond
Its so fine, fine, very fine love
How did I ever live without your love?
Its the only thing Im certain of
No matter what Im going through
I know I can count on you
You are more precious to me every day
Life is better now in every way
You dont have to lay the world at my feet
You have made my world complete
Weve got a fine, fine, very fine love, oh, oh
Weve got a fine, fine, very fine love
You know it when you find one
Shining like a diamond
Its so fine, so fine, very fine love
Ive got no apprehensions
Youve got the best intentions
Weve got a, weve got a, weve got a fine, fine, very fine love
Weve got a fine, fine, very fine love
A very fine
A very fine love
Very fine love, ah, ha, ooh, hoo
So fine, hey, so fine
So good, so good love

Excess of liberty, whether it lies in state or individuals, seems only to pass into excess of slavery.
I am bound to add that the excess in too little has ever proved in me more dangerous than the excess in too much; the last may cause indigestion, but the first causes death.
