At the heart of these challenges lies the question of how the institutions of the European Union make laws, the types of laws they pass and the effectiveness with which those laws are implemented on civil society and the economy.

A corollary is that, when laws are out of touch with the people, those laws can and should be changed - from the most simple local regulations to the highest law of the land, our federal Constitution.

We Almost Forgot
Should we try to avoid getting ourselves in a knot?
About the separatists in Quebec which we almost forgot,
Can we sit silent for another hundred years not knowing?
Or should we get some changes to the constitution going?
But the media moguls announce that everything is great,
Therefore there is no need to sit down and have this debate,
Is Trudeau’s Charter not enough to keep everything calm?
Is everyone getting excited instead of just going along?
Should we have recall and referendums in a new constitution?
Or would that add to what we already have – confusion?
Should we elect senators and those in the Supreme Court?
And who should we talk to for information and support?

Each state in the Union is honored in the order of when it ratified the Constitution and became a part of the United States. This September it is Iowa's turn. Iowa became the 29th state to be admitted to the union on December 28, 1846.

Constitution Visits
Things would be made much more explicit,
If those of leadership made constitution visits.
And saw and read and comprehend
What that doctrine says
To a nation of men and women!
No one needs to be Christian, Black or Jew
To uphold those rights for me or you!
No one needs to be Catholic, Baptist or 'Witness'
To live a life on this land that was not created for this!
Somehow somewhere someone thought of greed.
And represented the constitution for this purpose to feed!
Someone made it Christian and began to use a Bible.
Someone began making laws that from our constitution...
Was not viable!
We are fighting for the right to change thoughts of others,
When the understanding of what exists...
Has been twisted to make liable to stir up others' troubles!
Nothing that is done today,
Is from a constitution much abused that is reliable to use,
In the hands of those who choose it to confuse!
And where do the Puritans and Quakers fit in?
Believers and founders who arrived without documentation!
Things would be made much more explicit...
If those in roles of position,
Made a few more constitution visits!
Instead of surpressing realities in distress!
Creating not unity...
But a world in a conflicting mess!

Canadian Euthanasia July 6th,2012
Someone should devise a simple way for Canadians to die,
Then make euthanasia legal by referendum and no lie,
So that when we need to die, we can arrange for the when and where,
I can see it all now as those pompous patrons in Ottawa glare.
The Supreme Court guys and girls in Ottawa looking down,
So you better behave yourself because they don't fool around,
Abortions allowed but euthanasia banned long ago,
Sue Rodriguez had to, and you too, may have to, kowtow.
Maybe not though if we could change some laws and constitution,
We could have death with dignity and no more confusion,
But where do we find a leader or politician who is willing?
Because our lack of this kind of leadership is very chilling.

Return of a Man
Return of a man who spent his holiday
Resulted in purges and monuments of way;
The man who lunched in an Autumn
Is bringing peace in the form of food and activism.
He caught his peace and won,
Without union or priesthood or abdication.
The destroyers are some who work on it,
Then peace reasserts itself with a benefit.
Peace has come, peace has won,
We live in wait for the man who can deafen;
He described our faith as an union,
With it there is none, with us is a constitution.
