I pretended to be somebody I wanted to be until finally I became that person. Or he became me.

A Wanted Person
You are a wanted person and,
You've stolen from many;
You are a wanted person and,
You thought you are rich from your theft.
The law is looking for you,
The people are tracking for you down,
But for how long will you hide from them?
A wanted person is what you are,
So try to sow a better seed than hate;
A wanted person is what you are,
So try to do the right thing than stealing;
One day the law will get to you.
You will be exposed one day,
You will be caught one day,
There and then you will know your mistakes;
A wanted person is what you are.
Like the nakedness of a chicken,
Likewise will your shame be;
You are a wanted person and,
The law is after you.

Speak the truth and you'll be heard.
She told me she cared,
I knew she lied,
She told them she cared,
They knew she lied,
She said she wanted me to be the best,
I knew she lied,
She said to them she wanted me to be the best,
They knew she lied,
She whispered she loved me,
I knew she lied,
She whispered to them she loved me,
They knew she lied,
She pretended everything when I was there,
She pretended to love me,
She pretended to care,
She said she wanted me to be happy,
We all knew the truth was not what she speak,
We all knew the truth was just about to leak,
We all knew the truth would come out,
We all knew the truth, with no doubt,
She was just like the people surrounding,
Pretending, acting, lying,
So the truth is what I spoke when I spoke to her,
I told her the truth is true, the truth is fair,
I told her...
If it's a lie, don't say another word,
However, speak the truth, and you'll be heard,
To lie to someone who truly loves you for you,
Is one of the most cruel things you can ever do,
To let them believe what you say to them is true,
When really all your thinking about is you, you and you.

The Great Pretender
As a child, I pretended I had magical powers
To make friends,
I pretended I was psychic
So friends could consult me,
I pretended I had strange illnesses
To avoid the chlorinated swimming baths
On wet grey Mondays..........................

What You Always Wanted
Sometimes you want something
and you work hard to get it.
Thinking it will change your life forever
into something better than it is.
Finally, you get what you want,
that dream has finally come true
and you then become something you never wanted to be.
You then begin to wonder
if you wanted it at all.
Self-doubt creeps into your mind
and starts torturing you,
but you cannot go back out now.
You have what you always wanted
like it or not.
You have to live with it
for better or for worse.

All I Ever Wanted...
all i ever wanted was a friend.
someone to love me, because i'll love them.
a person,
real and in the flesh,
someone unlike anyone else.
all i ever wanted was some one cool,
to teach me things i never new...
is that person you?
that's all i ever wanted

He's So Sick
He's so sick to think that I'm the one who did something wrong
He's so sick to think that I'm the one who wouldn't leave him alone
He's so sick to think that he could actually think that I wanted him
All I could say is Yuck
How did I get stuck with a person who is so sick to think of me like that
All I can say is If only Jermaine just knew that much I know he would surely snap and cause a commotion
I'm so glad that this person will graduate and will finally be gone and leave me alone

Eating Vesta
I reached out and pretended to take her nose
and she pretended that I had done so
laughed gleefully and ran away.
I chased her in the park we both falling to ground
and I reached out and pretended to pluck out her eyes;
she howled
grabbed her brow
saying
'What have you done with my eyes! '
I reached out
opened my mouth
and nibbled on her ear
munching gleefully
and she said in mock pain
'Ouch.'
She pinched my cheek,
a small handful
pretending to salt it
saying
'Delicious, '
followed by a gentle licking
at my open palm.
I took a bite of her and pretended to swallow
and she bit me back pretending to howl
in delight and glee
and ever so sweetly
took two of her fingers
and fed my mouth
saying:
'I want to be your girlfriend'

A Heart
I am old enough to know the truth
You are young and I older than you
I have never pretended not to be the age I am
You always wanted to be with a younger man.
There is no doubt you are young and smart
But when it comes to love you struggle with your heart
I wish I could be the one to set it free
Take you in my arms and place it next to me.
Time has passed and time forgotten
For then the sky was filled with clouds of cotton
When my dreams of yesterday seemed real and close
Like meeting you that day in a field of sunflowers I suppose.
But as with life all things must come to an end
Never knowing, never knowing where and when
So please take heart from what I finally have to say
For you had stolen its beat since that very first day.

Anniversary
I thought Id write you something to remember me by,
A commemorative for the two years you spent by my side,
But every day is a new mistake,
A new song to be written and erased,
Why would you listen anyway,
Finally Im going on with my life,
What a big mistake it was saving all my good-byes,
Im not the type of person to get over it,
Its stuck in the back of my mind along with the time we spent,
Finally Im going on with my life,
What a big mistake it was saving all my good-byes,
By the end of the year,
You wont even be there,
What a big mistake it was,
I wanted you to be there
Piece it together,
Along with all the rest,
Dont forget to write,
Warm your cold shoulder,
Dont listen to what they say, what they say,
I thought Id write you something to remember me by,
Finally Im going on with my life,
What a mistake it was saving all my good-byes,
By the end of the year,
You wont even be there,
What a big mistake it was,
I wanted you to be there

What Was It You Wanted?
What was it you wanted?
Tell me again so Ill know.
Whats happening in there,
Whats going on in your show.
What was it you wanted,
Could you say it again?
Ill be back in a minute
You can get it together by then.
What was it you wanted
You can tell me, Im back,
We can start it all over
Get it back on the track,
You got my attention,
Go ahead, speak.
What was it you wanted
When you were kissing my cheek?
Was there somebody looking
When you give me that kiss
Someone there in the shadows
Someone that I might have missed?
Is there something you needed,
Something I dont understand.
What was it you wanted,
Do I have it here in my hand?
Whatever you wanted
Slipped out of my mind,
Would you remind me again
If youd be so kind.
Has the record been breaking,
Did the needle just skip,
Is there somebody waitin,
Was there a slip of the lip?
What was it you wanted
I aint keepin score
Are you the same person
That was here before?
Is it something important?
Maybe not.
What was it you wanted?
Tell me again I forgot.
Whatever you wanted
What could it be
Did somebody tell you
That you could get it from me,
Is it something that comes natural
Is it easy to say,
Why do you want it,
Who are you anyway?
Is the scenery changing,
Am I getting it wrong,
Is the whole thing going backwards,
Are they playing our song?
Where were you when it started
Do you want it for free
What was it you wanted
Are you talking to me?

Before I was known, I would go on stage and pretend I was other people. Once I pretended I was mentally handicapped. It was really wrong. One time I was a bad magician. And one time I pretended I was a Christian comic.
Generations Apart
She was the only
Person I know
Who painted
Interior window trim
In high heels
Helping us now
Get our house ready
For renters
She has always seemed
Dressed up
Even in an apron
Back when I was five
She pretended to count
The chocolate chips
Warning me that there
Wouldn't be enough
To finish the last batch
If I kept sneaking them
I was there to help
Get her the waxed paper
Grease the cookies sheets
And lick the beaters
I just wish
She hadn't
Scraped the bowl
So very hard
With her wooden spoon
There was hardly
Anything left
For me
When she finally
Handed the bowl over
I could barely
See over the counter back then
To know what she was doing
Buzzing around her kitchen
Her high heels clicking

Where Is She Now?
I once knew,
this person who,
devoted their live,
to changing the world,
but now I wonder,
where she went.
She had a heart,
that only would beat,
when she felt that this world,
truly needed a shining light.
She wanted to be that light,
she wanted to change,
she wanted to give hope,
she wanted it all,
but now look,
where is she now?
Many years ago,
I was this young girl,
who only wanted the best,
who only needed to see,
the smile of one person,
to brighten her day.
Now she can't even look,
at a single smile,
because it just brings her down,
nothing can ever change,
not in her eyes.
Her eyes were once blue,
blue like the skies,
but now her eyes,
are a dark coal-like colour.
She's lost in this world,
she's lost herself too,
I just wish,
she'd figure her life out soon.

Second Chance
Sometimes we do something without thinking and it turns out bad
One mistake can rude your life
Unless you get
Second chance
To see the person you love in same class with you again
You feel it’s your time to make it right
It never too late to do it
You get that feeling you felt before and it all coming back
You can’t talk to that person again and stop looking at that person
You feel all butterfly coming back too
You feel nervous and feel that person is right for you
Second chance
To show that you still care for that person and want to be with that person
If she or he still have feelings for you, you hope and pray it work out
You finally got that person you want and if that
Second chance
Doesn’t work out then it never meant to be after all
You have to move on
Second Chance

Mirroring the shades of me
I look into the mirror and
Seeing not only a reflection of myself,
This world or the world daring me to enter
But the person I use to be
The one I'm afraid to be again
The person who would tear your heart apart
And not care
The person that didn't take her education seriously
The type of person that wanted to do
What she wanted to do
I see the person I am
Someone who helps you
No matter what
Even if I'm the one getting kicked
The senior in high school getting ready for graduation
Hovering over the next level of my life
But trying to find a way up out of the middle of the ocean
Everyone calls life in an education box
This is where I will discover
The mouse and tiger inside of me
Don't want to think of separating
Of being alone
And on my own
It's faded but there as I glance into the mirror
I see the person I will be
A person who helps other people
Discover that people with disabilities
Are not so different
I have found my way up the education latter
Helping people
Showing them there is someone that cares
And believes that they can do
Whatever they set their mind too
As if my mind was coming back to me
Out of a dream
My eyes cleared
As I realized I was just
Standing in front of a mirror
Thinking of that red cap and gown again

Im O. K.
Written by dennis deyoung, james young
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
Hey, hey, hey, hey, eight, skate, seven on the rotate!
If I could stand
Beside myself
Would I see me or maybe someone else
cause its hard to please
Most everyone
When your spirits got you on the run, on the run
They say do your best
But dont cause a fuss
Dont make waves be like the rest of us
But I can feel the tide is turning fast
cause deep inside I know that I cant last
Another day
Not another day!
cause Im o.k.
I finally found the person Ive been searching for
Im alright
Im feeling good about myself and thats for sure
cause I believed them when they said I must do things their way,
They tried to cast me in their mold
But I just had to say,
That Im o.k.
Im o.k. this way yes Im o.k. yes Im ok!
Im o.k.
I finally found the person Ive been searching for (everybody sing now!)
Im alright
Im feeling good about myself and thats for sure (whoo!)
Im o.k.
I finally found the person Ive been searching for (yahoo!)
Im alright
Im feeling good about myself and thats for sure
Im o.k.
Im feeling good about myself and thats for sure
Im alright
Im o.k. this way yes Im ok!

Losing My Grip
Loosing My Grip
Hoobastank
(The Scorpion King)
All the questions
I went through
I never told myself the truth
I turned my back
On you and me
'Cause I was scared to see
That we weren't
Who we used to be
So now I'm
Trying hard to
Let go, let you go
But I can't seem to
Loosen my grip
Trying hard to
Let go, let you go
Let you go, go
Feeling emptiness inside
A part of me already died
But I pretended to go on
Like everything's ok
And all we built began to fall
As I began to lose it all
Shut my eyes
And set me free
'Cause I was scared to see
That we weren't
Who we used to be
So now I'm
Trying hard to
Let go, let you go
But I can't seem to
Loosen my grip
Trying hard to
Let go, let you go
Let you go, go
You're all that
I ever wanted
You're everything
That I need
But now it's finally over
Time for goodbyes
I needed so now I'm
Trying hard to
Let go, let you go
But I can't seem to
Loosen my grip
Trying hard to
Let go, let you go
Let you go, go

Been Through Alot Not Going To Give Up Now
I look back in the past,
and i realize how i got so off track,
my life wasn't easy growing up,
been sexually abused,
got picked on for my weight,
lost my best friend,
when he moved away,
lost a friend from an accident,
we were friends for 5 years,
when i didn't see him in the hall,
i knew something was wrong,
lost my mom,
my best best friend,
who i was close to,
and was my guidence,
had an injury that tested me,
and who i was as a person,
i failed a couple of times,
but finally gotten it right,
fighting through school,
to become something better,
finally it what i wanted,
no matter how long it takes,
i will stay in until the end,
been fighting my whole life,
i'm not giving up now.
